Cute, fun, fresh written true to the historical theme. Very humorous, love the flow of the book.

At 15% the book was taking far too long to get moving. The hero seemed obnoxious and while I liked the heroine (and the secret she had to cover), the plot didn't seem to have enough to keep me reading. DNF.

As Rath drinks too much brandy one night and decides he must make amends for a wager that caused so much scandal, he decides to accept the position of Guardian to a ward of a friend. Sure he can manage to get the chit engaged in no time.

Marlena is not the same little girl in braids that Rath remembers from long ago. She is deeply independent and has a quick wit about her that Rath comes to adore. Marlena soon discovers Rath is not all he appears and he may have a heart after all, but Marlena has a secret of her own that would create a scandal if it was discovered. She and Rand must find a way to work through them together.

This is the third book in a series with an interesting premise. In this standalone, the Duke of Rathburne, “Rath”, while in a state of being indisposed (ok, so he was rather drunk when he thought it would be a good idea),has taken on the ward of an older friend of his deceased father who is in failing health.
He has agreed to fund for Miss Marlena Fast a season and to find her a proper match. Rath remembers meeting the girl when she was about twelve, unruly, and rather tomboyish. He has his reasons for the agreement, as he has a past for which he seeks to atone. Unfortunately, when he’s sober, and regretting his agreement, he cannot renig on it.
Marlena, not exactly thrilled about pursuing a season, is horrified that the Duke of Rathburne has been made her guardian. Miss Fast firmly believes he is NOT the kind of man anyone in their right mind would assign to such a task for a genteel young lady. She also fears that the duke will learn what she and her friends have been up to for the past three years, and that’s not so ladylike.
Neither of the two counted on the attraction they would have for each other or their inability to deny it.
With a cast of colorful characters, especially a dramatic cousin, a few prehistoric eggs, and a little dog who thinks he’s a king, the story is thoroughly entertaining. I highly recommend this book and the series to those who enjoy historical romance or romance at all.

It's All About The Duke by Amelia Grey is a fantastic historical romance. Ms. Grey has again proved her writing and storytelling abilities. The characters are outstanding and entertaining. Rath is a rake that ends up becoming guardian to Marlena. Marlena doesn't want Rath as her guardian because she has secrets. Their story is full of drama, humor, sizzle and action. I was captured at page one and couldn't put this book down. I loved It's All About The Duke and look forward to my next book by Amelia Grey. It's All About The Duke is book 3 of The Rakes of St. James Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete story, not a cliff-hanger.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This historical romance was lovely to read and hard to put down.
An error in judgment made by three tipsy dukes, over a decade ago still haunts the trio. They made a bet and twelve innocent debutantes' reputation was compromised.
They did not find any apparent damage to repair for the debs over time and two of the dukes happily married.
But a scandal sheet keeps them, especially the Duke of Rathburne in the spotlight, and he has no idea how to stop it.
When an elderly friend of his father's begs him to be the guardian of his ward, Miss Fast, he first refuses, but then accepts when inebriated and feeling guilty. She has a secret that she is terrified he will discover.
She isn't interested, but the cousin she lives with insists she accept the offered help.
The pair lead an interesting life in the tale, and we are privy to their thoughts as well as their actions.
Both well meaning, both enchanted with the other and both not easily accepting their fate.
I requested the ARC from NetGalley as I have read the first two in the series and enjoyed reading them.

Thanks to NetGalley and St Martin’s Press for a copy of this book. St Martin’s Press is my go to publisher for regency romances, and I must confess to being somewhat addicted to them. This is another excellent example of the genre. If you like this type of book, you won’t regret reading it.

I didn't know that this book was part of a series but I was not lost, so yes it can be read as a standalone I however will go back to read the rest of the previous books because I did enjoy this one. So we meet the Duke of Rathbone and he feels guilty from his past deeds and in a moment of inebriation agrees to become a guardian. When he gets reacquainted with his ward Marlene he was shocked to see how beautiful she grew up and is instantly attracted but tries to tight (not very hard). Marlene can not believe who her new guardian is because she has a secret that could destroy her. Grab a copy my friends it is truly entertaining.

It's All About the Duke by Amelia Grey storyline is one of my troupes in romance novels - female gossip writer who writes about Dukes and then falls in love with the one she writes the most about in the scandal pages. At times I felt the secondary character's storyline was overtaking the main plot, but that is a picky critique because the novel was still a quick read.and fun waiting for the Duke to figure out she was the one writing about him.

I was offered an e-ARC of this book from St. Martin’s Press via NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I received this novel from net galley and the publisher for an honest review. Thank you!!
This novel was a good read and a good way to finish the series. The characters from the previous novels are included in the story, but the major focus is on the rake who devised the plan years ago to send secret admirer letters to the young ladies of the ton. The Duke of Rathburne agrees to be the guardian of a young lady, partly to atone for his past mistakes. He never expected someone like Miss Marlena Fast, who is opinionated and protective of those she cares for. Marlena is not happy Rath is her new guardian and challenges him at every opportunity. Marlena has been helping her neighbors, who need money to keep their home and not taking a penny for herself. She has a secret, one that will impact her life greatly if anyone discovered the truth. Rath wants to marry Marlena off, but cannot help getting jealous when he thinks of another man with her or his desire to spend time alone with her. After all, he is a rake. Marlena begins to see there is more to Rath than a rake. Both fight their attraction for each other, but they both fall in love with the other. However, Marlena's secret would destroy her relationship with Rath. Both have made mistakes, but will they allow those to mistakes to destroy the future they could have together?
