I love visiting the Original Sinner series and Kingsley is a favorite.

Kingsley has been having doubts that Søren ever loved him, in fact, he has been having nightmares.

He’s asked to take a job which sees him at a Chateau which is apparently a secret sex club. He meets Madame who is a shrewd Madame.
l could definitely see Madame and Søren exchanging notes.

I loved it, as you are reading you’re unsure what direction the story is going but you’re intrigued and curious.

There were pleasant surprises that made this story.

Kingsley Boissonneault works as an undercover officer for the French military intelligence agency. He is offered a different mission involving infiltrating a cult to rescue his commanding officer’s nephew. The question is whether he wants to be rescued and whether Kingsley will want to leave once he gets there…

This erotic thriller definitely had a sinister feeling that I couldn’t seem to shake.

Getting a glimpse into Kingsley’s past was very eye opening. And disturbing. This Chateau is like no other. But it’s a time in his life where, I believe, it was a major turning point. Choices were made that shaped him into the man he is today.

Being 24 he was still young, and yet he had more life experiences than most people in their 40s. So when he goes on a mission to the Chateau, he thinks it’ll be easy. But there was nothing easy about this.

This book was a real page turner. In fact, I read and read and the next thing I know, it’s over. This had my heart racing practically the entire time. And I’ll admit, I even gasped once or twice.

Tiffany Reisz is a wizard of words. This world she creates is nothing that can ever be duplicated or copied. Magnificent!!

I'm not sure why this is billed as a standalone because it's certainly a great addition to the Original Sinners series. It's a prequel of sorts about part of Kingsley's life as a young man and you need to have read the series to understand much of what is in the book. In any case, it's terrific. Kingsley fans will love getting to know him better.

As usual, the author posts interesting questions via her characters and let's them answer those questions in a very thought provoking way.

This is my first encounter with a book by Tiffany Reisz and even though this is the 9th book in "The Original Sinners" series I picked it up and read it with no problems at all. The Chateau can be read as a total standalone story. I was very excited to get to read a book by this author as i'd heard so many good things about her writing from my friends and so being intrigued and with a need to judge for myself, im very happy to say that I was so impressed with how fast I became engrossed in this story and I absolutely loved the writing style of this author. The words just seemed to flow so well that I couldn't help myself from turning page after page and before I knew it i'd finished the book.
Kingsley is such a brilliant character with so much charm, intelligence and wit that you can't help but like him. Madam even though she is a total enigma is such a wonderful character, she made the story feel a little dark and dangerous which I totally loved. One moment she is like a warm and loving mother giving comfort to her family and the next she is a twisted and vicious temptress that likes to give out lashes, lies and pain. Together Madam and Kingsley were a toxic mix of a willing slave with his sadistic mistress who used his fears against him.
I loved everything about this book, it was beautifully thought out and took me on an amazing journey with it's characters. It deserves 5 wonderful Stars!

The Chateau takes us back to a time BEFORE Kingsley built his empire.

A time he spent with another sadist, who taught him about a few things he needed to learn about his own sadist.

I always wondered where Kingsley came up with the idea for his kinky empire, and this is the story of that idea. But also the story of how Kingsley was found again by his true love, his blonde sadist. The Chateau is a beautiful, sexy, love affair with a world few understand. Madame may teach Kingsley a thing or two about pain, but also about games. And how a true sadist mind games can help you clear your mind and make the decisions your heart desires.

For all the original sinners, you will love this story. It really was an insight into Kingsley that we yet haven't had the chance to see

At 24 years old, Kingsley Boissonneault is a Lieutenant in a French military agency. With Kingsley, there is never a dull moment and though he approaches this assignment with his usual vigor and lustful nature, he learns that his adversary is quite talented in her sadistic practices. Quickly realizing Madame doesn’t have any limits, King plays her game because to play is to win.

As this plot takes the reader down a certain path, it becomes clear that not all is what it seems. Passing each test, Kingsley advances until the final level becomes a truth that he’s always known. Showing his vulnerability, Madame is relentless in her pursuit causing my heart to break for King.

Madame is an interesting character who might seem like another well-known Original Sinner sadist, but she is quite different in her methods. With her motivations, Madame is a force to be revered and yet feared. While Kingsley is looking for answers, Madame is able to turn his world on its axis.

Throughout, Kingsley has his usual charming, sexy moments but grasping the level of his loneliness during this time underscores his connection to Søren and his need to submit. With his time at The Chateau, Madame proves to be a crucial element in King’s future.

The Chateau is an erotic and thrilling story that offers introspection and shows the depth these characters will take to obtain answers. Plus, getting more of Kingsley is always a good thing, as he never disappoints.

To me, every new Original Sinners story is a gift. There are always delicious new discoveries about these characters I’ve grown to love so much, and The Chateau is another treasure wrapped in twisted silk ribbons.

Featuring a 24 year old Kingsley Edge during his time as an agent in the French military, he is charged to infiltrate a supposed sex cult. However, the mission takes a personal turn. His time at the Chateau and with Madame (a brilliantly crafted new character!) sheds beautiful and tragic light on the man King becomes—with Tiffany Reisz’s signature style that is so much fun to read yet is deeply emotional with some jaw-dropping twists. A master storyteller, she had me smiling and laughing one minute then clutching my aching chest the next. In the end, I felt like I ran a marathon and tears were welling up in my eyes.

I loved every word of this fun and erotic thriller, and King’s character now holds an even deeper place in my heart. This is a must read for Sinners fans.

Note: Though The Chateau could be considered a prequel, I highly recommend reading the series in order for full emotional impact. There are insights into Kingsley’s character that I think you won’t fully appreciate if you haven’t read his full story.

The Chateau: The first of the Original Sinners books to make me gasp more at the plot reveals than the sex scenes

As a reader of all Tiffany Reisz’s books to date, including the The Red, I thought I was hard to shock. And yet, Ms Reisz found a way. And I enjoyed every letter of it. This novel is a big step closer to the thriller genre, which she’s toyed with in stand alone titles recently.

I simply had to love this book. Kingsley is one of my favourite characters – rakish, witty, sassy and fun. It was a delight to be immersed in his 20s, during is service with La Légion (the French Foreign Legion). And what an extraordinary assignment he enjoyed in these pages!

Ms Reisz knows how to give good fan service, with a cameo fans will recognise from her other works, along with many mentions and memories of a well known blond boy.

In terms of new characters, Madame and her family are strong, thoroughly enchanting female characters. As Ms Reisz explained “[Vanity Fair said Famed dominatrix Catherine Robbe-Grillet] makes Fifty Shades of Grey look like a Disney movie. Madame makes Mistress Nora look like a Disney Princess.”

“All over the world right now… girls are being raised in homes where they’re expected to serve men- first their fathers and then their husbands. The boys get the jobs outside the home and the girls get the cooking and cleaning inside the home. So many countries, so many cultures, it goes without saying that women serve the men of the household. For some reason – sexism – when its reversed… people assume we’ve gone insane”

My only minor disappointment is that this book wasn’t scheduled for release on March 8, International Women’s Day. If you’ve seen Deadpool, you may recognise that as an entrendre, as this book delivers a certain scene that Ms Reisz teased her fans with on Twitter before she left that particular social media.

Once again we are transported to the Erotic and intriguing world of the Original Sinners by Tiffany Reisz . KINGSLEY!
This takes place with a young and strapping 24 year old Kingsley and he's young yet he’s lived such a life. I find myself loving most is how we are filling in these little spaces in time from the ORIGINAL SINNERS series. Journeys that I don’t know how we ever lived without. THIS WAS FANTASTIC. We see deep into the the soul of Kingsley and how he sees himself. It’s peeking behind the great curtain where so much of his personality, his plot and ideas were created, How HE BECAME the MAN HE IS. When he started His “unofficial” op and his short yet life altering time spent with Madame and the others at the The Chateau nobody could expect what would happen when it ended. Secrets games and of course lies always play a part. No spoilers! If you haven’t read the Sinners you are being judged by me this is 9th in a series don't ruin it by reading it without knowing the characters! Absolute must read . I can't believe I read this in one sitting. I still find Kingsley a pompous ass at times, yet I am drawn to him all the same. He is a witty, but completely damaged man, that understands etiquette. It's hard to really explain Kingsley in a handful of adjectives.

While this can technically be a stand alone, I would recommend reading at least the first three books in the series before reading this one. It might be better to have a little background history to understand Kingsley's thoughts and feelings about his dreams and why he is they way he is. The story does tell you snip-its of his past, but it doesn't tell you the journey of it, so new readers may not appreciate it fully. I would have loved to know more about Madame. If Tiffany Reisz writes that book, I will be first in line!

P.S. I didn't miss Nora (the main character of this series) a bit.

Everyone who has read an Original Sinners book knows how a 20 something Kingsley is going to act in a chateau filled with beautiful, kinky, dominant women. And of course, he does not disappoint. But in addition, we also get an hard emotional flogging along with our good time. A night with Soren could not cause so much pain. There is so much insight into the young man Kingsley was and who he would become. Such wonderful, colorful, sadistic characters pass through his life. I had to read this twice before I could wrap my head around all the pieces of young Kingsley. This is a difficult book to review without a spoiler. There are so many ahhhh moments. More now than ever, I kneel at the feet of Kingsley Edge but I kiss the feet of the Queen of Kink, Tiffany Reisz. Long live the Queen!

So excited reading about Kingsley! I absolutely loved this one.

Just when you think you cannot love Kingsley anymore, Tiffany gives us The Chateau!! This book is magic, its the heart and soul of kingsley. The man IS Tiffany's gift to women.

Kingsley was always a favorite of mine, in the series, however, this story has moved him up a notch or two. We learn so many insights into Kingsley in the pages of this story. We learn insight into Soren through Kingsley's almost coming of age, coming out, finding himself.

One would think this being the 9th novel in the series, among countless novellas we would tire of these characters, however, Tiffany brings them back to life every single time. Its like visiting an old friend, or just coming home. The prequels are especially fabulous, they just make all the pieces fall into place. They have a way of closing the circle, filling in the holes, or simply refreshing your memory.

Completely fell in love with Madame, love her character, love her strength. I adore the connection between her and Kingsley. The side not so side characters were perfection. If I ever make it to Paris, I need the call the number, and repeat the words to get me in. The Chateau sounds like perfection to me.

I completely and utterly loved this story. The twist the turns Tiffany had me gasping throughout. Oh and of course there is laughter I mean we are talking about Kingsley Edge here!!!

Short Take: An erotic thriller? Well, you’re half right….

Hello my beloved nerdlings! It is I, BookNerd, Ruler of the Dark, armed with a riding crop, a parakeet, and a bag of powdered sugar, here to bring you something entirely different!

Well, not entirely. You see, I received an advance copy of The Chateau to review, and who am I to turn down a free book? The author, Tiffany Reisz, generally writes “adult romance”, to put it euphemistically, and, although I enjoy dipping my…. uh…. toe into some naughty novels on occasion, I have never tried to review one.

So, after much consideration, I have decided to keep my site to USA family-friendly standards, which means that I can discuss as much blood, violence, and gore as I like, but there will be not a hint of a naked [censored]. On with the review!!

(Due to some other life stuff, I’m afraid this one will be a bit of a quickie.) (Heh.)

Although Ms. Reisz is best known for her Original Sinners series, and although the main character in The Chateau (Kingsley Boissonneault) is a character in the Sinners series, this one is billed as a standalone thriller.

The year is 1989, and Kingsley is an agent for a very high-level, secret, “assassinate the assassins” agency in France. Colonel Masson sends him on a mission to locate and extract Masson’s nephew, Leon. Leon may have been abducted and imprisoned in the titular Chateau, an extremely secretive cult dedicated to [censored]. In the Chateau, men are the servants, women are the queens, and the beautiful, mysterious, and imperious Madame rules over all.

As a work of erotica, The Chateau is way up there. The [censored] scenes are beyond [censored], and even the dialogue is great. It’s all very dreamlike and surreal, and the “Alice Through The Looking Glass” theme adds to the enchanted atmosphere.

There are Dark Secrets, to be sure, and some allusions to bloodshed, but I don’t know if I would classify this one as a thriller. You see, for all the violent [censored], at no time did I feel that anyone’s life was in any real danger. During his time in the Chateau, Kingsley was handled with silk gloves. Literally.

I don’t want to give away much of what he learns in the last couple of chapters, because the revelations ARE fun, but there was very little in the way of a thrilling climax, at least as far as the mission (rescuing Leon) is concerned. There are plenty of other [censored] [censored] [censored] throughout the rest of the book, however.

Overall, if you want a bit of steamy [censored] fun, you can’t go wrong with Ms. Reisz. Let’s just say, in her books, it’s the quality, not the quantity of bodies that matters.

The Nerd’s Rating: Four Happy Neurons (And a bottle of lotion, because this long winter has my skin really dry. What?)

Did not finish, I think I was a tad lost, but looked up and saw that the characters are from a series and I think I would enjoy more if I read it prior.

I had to pinch myself when I saw Tiffany Reisz was writing another novel about Kingsley — the news was just too good to be true! Kingsley Théophile Boissonneault was and remains my favorite character in The Original Sinners series. I feel like I should write the author a thank-you note for writing The Chateau, and not only for writing it, but for making it available on NetGalley this month, too. This book could not have come at a better time. When I had hardly any desire for reading, when I only kept on starting books and leaving them, and when I had a terrible cold, King's book was just what the doctor ordered.

The author, as I've learned long ago from her many erotic stories, has the best wicked imagination. Especially when it comes to Kingsley, although I admit I'm extremely biased when it comes to this particular character. Truth be told, Ms. Reisz could have written a whole novel about King reading the newspaper, and I would've found it interesting. The Chateau isn't about that; it is the story of Kingsley's time in a sex cult. It was the beginning of 1989. I was about a month away from being born, and Kingsley was sent on a mission to a sex cult, because of course he was. If anyone would be sent on a mission to a sex cult, it would be Kingsley Edge. But the story didn't start with that mission. It started with him.

The most compelling part of The Original Sinners series to me was the relationship between Kingsley and Søren. You can't speak about Kingsley without mentioning Søren. So, of course, The Chateau started with Søren. Kingsley was 24, living in Paris, doing unofficial official work for the French military, and years after parting ways with Søren, his dreams were still haunted by that blond monster who smelled like winter. Then he got a new assignment: rescue the nephew of his commanding officer from a sex cult. In that cult men served women. For Kingsley, who hadn't served since Søren, it wasn't just another assignment, but also an opportunity to satisfy the submissive part of himself.

The 24-year-old submissive Kingsley was just so freaking beautiful. I was quite taken with him. Luckily, lots and lots of pages were dedicated to the erotic games the women in the château played with willing Kingsley. The most intense game was the one Madame played. Madame, the owner of the château, was quite an intriguing character with the air of mystery around her and with extensive knowledge of Kingsley's life. While the other women Kingsley met in the château played pleasurable games, Madame, a sadist, played a cruel one. However, it did answer questions that had plagued Kingsley about himself and Søren. Søren, again. Always Søren.

As was the case with, I believe, all of the books by T. Reisz I've read, the story in The Chateau took some unexpected turns. Kingsley assignment turned out to be more complicated than saving his superior's nephew from Madame's home. The château and Madame hid big secrets for Kingsley to uncover. I guessed one twist, at least. What was interesting was how Kingsley's observations about that place and its owner reflected in the underground kingdom he built and ruled some years from then. That was a nice touch.

In the end, like in the beginning, there was Søren.

Kingsley leaned forward, wanting to kiss Søren, and it seemed —for once— Søren would let him. At the last second, however, Søren brought his hand up and clapped it over Kingsley’s mouth.
“If you ever try to kiss me again without permission,” Søren said calmly, “I’ll eat your heart like an apple and throw the core on the ground and let the worms have the rest.”


The Chateau is a book all Kingsley fans, all Søren fans, and really all Original Sinners fans should read.
