This was a fun book. I enjoyed reading this book with my son for bedtime. There are funny moments, adventure, mystery, and excitement. The illustrations were beautiful and really did a great job bringing so many of these scenes to vivid life. My son and I really enjoyed this book.

Who doesn't love monkeys? Or pirates? THis is a kind of cure if mostly empty story. I like the idea, the captain trying to prove that a story he made up on a whim is true only to have reality reflect his fiction. No real messages, just simple entertainment.

I had a good time reading Nearly Fearless Pirate Monkeys. I really liked before the story even began I was able to read a bit about each crew member. This is not your normal pirate tale, but many familiar elements are there. The captain wants to prove something to his crew, but ends up with more than he bargained for as this narrative unfolds. There is adventure, mystery, excitement and plenty of funny moments. The illustrations were beautiful and really did a great job bringing so many of these scenes to vivid life.

This was such a cute chapter book that I think both boys and girls would enjoy! Captain Banana Beard is not a very good Captain but he was funny. His crew followed what he said even when they knew what he said didn't make a lot of sense. It was just a quick fun little read.

This was a great early chapter book for 7 to 8 year olds. This pirate crew is made up of four monkeys who do not always make the best decisions. When the Captain tells them about the Octo-Shark, they don't believe him so they set off in search of one. Lots of silly adventures follow this group. The illustrations are large, vibrant and full of small details to entice the reader to look carefully. I would recommend this book to schools, classroom teachers and families, especially for children who love pirates and/or monkeys. It looks like this will be part of a series with three more to come.

This was a fun beginning chapter book. IT has lots of full color pictures. The rag tag group of pirates love bananas and monkeys, but they can get into trouble when they don’t use the brain in their head. See what trouble they get into by picking up this adventure. You’ll have a laugh and an adventure all in one.
