This book was different from what this author normally writes. The first half of the book did not have any interaction between the main characters because she ran away at the start of the book and it took almost half the book for him to find her. I really had questions such as, why did she run away, common sense would have her asking for help. The last half of the book was very good with lots of interaction with the characters and a good twist at the end of the book.
The beginning of the book was slow or I was just too impatient for Rory and Liam to Findlay meet again. The book had a lot of twists and turns. I was constantly trying to guess who the man and woman was that were the criminals. I have to admit one of them I guessed but the other one completely surprised me. The ending fell apart for me. All in all though it’s a very good read. Received an advance review copy in exchange for an honest review by NetGalley.
This is a book that will send you through a gambit of emotions. It will get you interested from the beginning and then there's a lull but once you get about half way through it doesn't stop until the final page and even then you want it to continue.
This book kept me guessing until I found out who the bad guys really are. You'll think it's one person or people and then you'll think it's someone else and so on until the reveal. It's a crazy ride!
I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of One Last Breath by Lisa Jackson and Nancy Bush that I read and reviewed.
I could not get into this book as deeply as much as I wanted too. For me it went way to slow and it just dragged on. I usually love the books that Jackson and Bush write together but the action in this book took place in the beginning then there was a long lull while Liam was looking for Rory then the action sort of picked up while the killer started to clean up his mess but by that time I pretty much had lost interest in what was going on. Overall, the book was just choppy for me and I never really connected to the characters.
I am giving One Last Breath three out of five stars.
This was a fun beach read.
It lost a star because I figured out the 'who' way too early and found a lot of what happened with the 'who' to be almost too distasteful to read. Luckily, there were only a few of those scenes, but there was a huge ick factor.
As for the rest of the book: I loved our main characters and was rooting for them the whole time. Despite knowing our 'who' too early, I still found the book highly suspenseful. It was the kind of book I wanted to tear through and, when I had to stop to actually work, I was just anxious to get back to the book.
I've read the authors before and, yet again, they deliver an extremely entertaining read!
Another entertaining romantic suspense book by Lisa Jackson and Nancy Bush. Even though I figured out the killer early on, it was a quite enjoyable read. I loved the main characters and seeing how things played out for them.
Thank you #NetGalley, #Kensingtonbooks and #Zebrapublishing for the ARC. This is my honest review.
Rory Bastian is getting ready to walk down the aisle to marry Liam Bastian when a masked intruder enters the bridal suite. Rory manages to get away, but the intruder threatens Rory and her unborn child. Meanwhile downstairs a gunman opens fire on the wedding party and the guests. Five years later Rory is still looking over her shoulder fearing someone will come after her and her daughter. Liam has tried but has never quite gotten over Rory.
This book caught my interest from the very first page and held on til the last page. There are so many twists and turns, you don’t know who you can trust. I didn’t like how Rory kept the secret of their child from Liam but I understand why she did it. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy of this book.
