If you have been following the series you have already met Bruce Kelly. But in “When Bruce met Cyn” you get to see him in a whole new light. Bruce has always had a protective side but that side comes out with a vengeance when he meets Cyn.
But as trouble follows Cyn to Visitation all the men we have come have to love step in order to keep her safe.
I received a copy of this book from Net Galley and this is my honest review.

I've enjoyed previous Lori Foster books in the past and was pleased to receive this ARC. Although it appears that it was first published over 10 years ago and it's being re-released with a new cover.
This is the third book in the series and I definitely felt like I was coming into an established series and that I was missing things.
I never connected with the main characters and was bothered by the age difference. I started skimming the book and have decided to stop reading.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the copy.
When Bruce Met Cyn is a cute romance, with a lot of complications, between two unlikely characters. The small-town feel of Visitation was well done, and I loved that Cyn was adopted as the town's own so quickly.
One of my favorites of Lori Foster's! I absolutely loved that Bruce was written as a regular guy who just happened to be in the ministry. The age gap between them didn't bother me as with some people, since Cyn was so much wiser than her years. I love this series!
I like Lori Foster's books and usually can't put them down from the time I start until the end. I have not read the other two books in this series and maybe that would help me like this one better. I like the character of Bruce although his profession seemed very at odds with his sexual desire for Cyn at times. I just couldn't get into the character of Cyn, I felt like the author focused way too much on the fact that she was a former hooker and her low self esteem. Honestly the whole story just didn't click that well for me and then throw in Jamie who apparently saw Cyn and called her in a vision for her to come to Visitation and to know that she was in danger. He obviously is an odd character with the ability to have visions to try to help others and maybe it explains more about him in previous books that would help understand him better.
I do not retell the story as so many reviewers do because that irritates me and ruins the story for others. I will just say it wasn't the worst book I have read but it isn't a favorite from an author I truly like.
Thanks Netgalley for a copy to read and review.
This isn't a new book in the series, I just think it's getting a cover makeover...lol. Visitation North Carolina series from Lori Foster is a great series for anyone looking for a lovely series that is just completely fun. I'm a big time fan. Bruce is a preacher opening up shop in Visitation when he finds Cynthia...or Cyn. She's a spitfire and can take care of herself from the moment they meet. You can feel the loneliness in Cyn as she comes to Visitation to start a new life away from prostitution and her ugly past. I love it, love the series. Five wonderful entertaining stars!
Cyn ran away at seventeen when her mother’s boyfriend tried to attack her. She has been on her own ever since. She doesn’t trust men because she knows they only want one thing. After saving up money, she gets a map and closes her eyes and picks Visitation, North Carolina. There she meets Bruce. Bruce is handsome and a preacher. He gives her a lift and finds himself attracted to her. He does everything he can to help her but she’s feisty, independent, and doesn’t have a good view of men. When she is warned that trouble is coming, Bruce will do anything to keep her safe. Cyn would do anything to keep Bruce safe too. She’s finally found a man who wants her for her and not just her body.
I didn’t want to give too much away so that’s why it’s so short. Bruce might be a preacher but he’s still a man. Cyn isn’t ashamed of her former life but can’t seem to help putting herself down. Sexy. Suspenseful. And a great story with humor and secrets.
I love Lori Foster´s books, and was really happy to receive this ARC.
It was a good book. Bruce and Cyn certainly were opposites, but they fit together like rice and beans (sorry, brazilian reference here, hahaha). Also they had so much chemistry, they let me hot and bothered.
It was beautiful how he kept his distance just to make sure she didn´t felt overwhelmed by it.
I received an arc from Netgalley. I have to admit this book was not one of my favorites of Lori Foster. I started and skipped to the ending as I just could not get into it.
A great reread! I love the book the first time around and once again the second read. Cyn has had an extremely hard life and she is extremely strong woman. Her encounter with Bruce is the last thing she expected and the last person she would see herself with. Yet, these two fit! Bruce understands Cyn much more than she realizes and is ready to fight for her and show.
Lori Foster is an excellent author. Her novels never disappoint and I am always ready to read the next.
What a lovely tale of second chances and love. New friendships and courage are also what you'll find in this book. And I love the characters, not only Bruce and Cyn but also the others including Jamie.
It's relatable, feel good stories that keep us interested and put smiles on our faces.
Who the hell is Palmer Oaks?!
Being afraid to daydream is sad.
She is really paranoid. But I guess that's smart.
Hmm, bodyguard to minister?
Is she crazy?!
Spooky...
I loved this story. Lori Foster is a fantastic author. This story is fun and flirty with a little bit of mystery included. I enjoyed the plot from start to finish. Cyn is a strong woman and made the story engaging. She has been through a lot and never gave up. I loved the way Bruce treated Cyn with respect and adored her. They are great together. I would definitely recommend this book.
Another hit in the series. This one has Cyn (Cynthia), who is a young woman running from her past, who meets up with hunky preacher Bruce. Starts a little slow, as it builds up to what made her run, and then the insecurities kinda got a little tiresome, although understandable. Minor issues overall though, and a hard book to put down. Would give this 4.5 starts. And highly recommend this book and author.
I have read most books by Lori Foster. This one can be read as a standalone, but it is part of a series. You should read the books in order to learn some back stories (such as Bruce’s backstory since he is the main character in this story).
Bruce is a minister in a small town (he is the twin brother to Bryan who we met in the previous book). He meets Cyn by trying to help her at a truck stop when she is being ‘bothered’. Only, she doesn’t need his help. She is very independent thanks to her life as an ex-hooker. Yep, ex-hooker. That’s a different twist to Mrs. Foster’s books. She kept ‘working’ until she had enough money to move on and get a new job somewhere else. I suppose that was a smart move on her part.
After a few obstacles, Cyn learns to trust Bruce. They become friends and then they fall in love. This was a somewhat quick read for me. (I read it in one night.)
Overall, I mostly liked this story. I felt Cyn was a bit dumb. Sorry, but it is true. I would give this book 4 out of 5 stars. However, if this had been my first book by Lori Foster, I might have rated it lower.
Cyn has done many things to survive and now she is finally starting over by making a new life for herself. When she meets Bruce, she can't figure out his angle because men always want something from her. But Bruce is an honorable man whose vocation is to help others. Bruce is surprised by his reaction to Cyn because he is so attracted to her but he wants her to learn that she is worth so much more than her body. This deep, gritty, and emotional romance is another winner by Lori Foster.
