Reading the synopsis of this book, I thought it would focus mainly on the character Vera. It however flips between lots of characters including her bothers, sister, friend and her husband, sister-in-law, and a man in town. It was honestly a bit too much crammed in with all the different characters.
I enjoyed reading about this small town post-war and the issues that they dealt with (which is really what this book is about). The men are struggling to return to civilian life, the women are also having to switch from being the workers and providers and being independent back to letting the men back into their lives (and how the roles were in those days). There is also a french woman who has married a local man but is not accepted into the community and some men who don't return.
As I mentioned, there is always a lot going on so you are not bored. It is clean as well. However, because of that I feel like you don't get to read too much into depth of any of the characters, I would have loved to have this stretched out into a couple of books instead.

Beneath the Bellemont Sky is a heartwarming story about family, love, and second chances. It primarily follows the Larson family, who own a farm in Wyoming.

As I read this, it was like being a part of the family and wanting them to find happiness.

I received an ARC.

This book fell short of what I was hoping for. The story was ok, but the author did very little to make it worth setting it in the time period it took place. I would have liked to see more reference to the time and events taking place. It was basically a story about 3 different couples and their challenges.

There is something so homey about this story, something so honest and homespun. This novel set in Wyoming after WWII in 1946 gives us a glimpse of what it must have been like not only for the soldiers coming back but also about their families who had sacrificed their own lives while waiting and praying for their loved ones. The Larsen family has to re-settle in a changing world, each member trying to re-establish themselves into a new era, trying to retain what they lost during the war years. This book was so well written, and even though there were hardships, it was just so cozy!!! I almost heard one of the characters say "Goodnight John Boy, Goodnight Pa." My thanks to NetGalley for providing this advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Definitely this was something new for me - a book surrounding this time period in Wyoming. I was intrigued by the historical significance this is to the author, and I could tell that there is a lot of heart gone into writing it.

There are many things to enjoy with this family. The dynamics change as the men return from the war. The women have had to keep the farm running without them. There's a very realistic viewpoint, and I felt it was a genuine portrayal. I was intrigued with how Josette's addition to the family would affect the immediate family and community. I liked her character a lot. There is hardship, sadness and lots of great moments too.

I struggled mostly with the amount of characters and point of views. It becomes a bit wearying, and I'd have liked a more in depth look at this family from perhaps just 2 of them.

Thanks to Netgalley & Covenant for the eARC. This is my honest review.

Until last year I hadn't read any books about WWII, and this is my third one. I don't know if I would have been a very good wife during this period of time. The men were gone off to war and the women had to take care of everything in addition to caring for the children, and there were food and gas rations and shortages to deal with on top of everything else.

This story takes place in Belmont, Wyoming in 1946 when the men are coming home from the war. The Larsen family is the main focus, and the lives of everyone in the family have been touched by the war. We get to see how each of them (Vera, Andrew, Sam and Fay) deal with life after WWII, and the author wrote the book in such a way that we see each character's perspective.

The upside to living in a small town is everyone helps out in times of need but there's also the downside that "outsiders" aren't always made to feel welcome. Andrew's new wife, Josette, has to deal with this when she comes home with Andrew, but I love Josette's spunk and that she and Andrew's story has a happy ending.

I enjoyed this book and the way the author let us see each character's perspective. I like how each member of the family dealt with their problems and worried that Sam's chauvinistic views might cost him the love of his life. Times were changing after WWII and women were entering the workforce which was a big adjustment.

This is a wonderful historical fiction and a clean romance. Thanks to NetGalley for allowing me to read and review this book.

This novel takes place just after WWII has ended, with the soldiers coming home. The women are learning that the men are back and can take over the running of the farm. Some of the women don’t want to give up their jobs or still want to have a say in how things are done. With strong opinions and emotions will everyone find their place in the family and society?

I fell in love with the family this book centers around! It's not just about Vera, but is told from various points of view as the issues and relationships of each sibling is explored. I've always enjoyed movies and shows with a strong ensemble cast and this book had the same feel. I love learning about this time period and was especially interested in the women who joined the workforce while the men were fighting the war, and how gender roles shifted as more opportunities opened up for women to support themselves. One of my favorite characters was Andrew's French wife Josette, and I loved seeing how the newlyweds adjusted to their new life together. Highly recommend to fans of historical fiction!

This book follows the members of the Larson family after World War II. The narrative mainly focuses on the siblings and their relationship difficulties, but also includes a short section about Vera's friend Eleanor and her husband Alvin. The book covers various important subjects, such as PTSD, infertility, prejudice, women's desire to keep their jobs after the war, losing a husband or family members, losing a limb, relationship difficulties, etc. Will the Larsons find their own happy endings, or will the aftermath of the war have more than a lasting impact on them?
This was my first time reading a book by Ranee S. Clark, and it definitely won't be my last time. I really enjoyed this book, especially since it covered women's struggles after the war (losing a husband or family members, trying to keep a job after the men came back, keeping up a living, etc.). I really enjoyed the book and highly recommend it to historical fiction lovers.
I received a complimentary copy of the book from the publisher through NetGalley. I was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are entirely my own.

Most books I read have one or two main characters, so the fact that there were multiple characters who got a chance at center-stage in this book was different than what I'm used to, but I really enjoyed it! It was a really cool way to see how different people were impacted by the war. We get to see so many interesting characters: Vera, the war widow looking to find love again; Fay, the girl who had to help out with the family farm and missed out on days of dancing and fun and desperately wants to find it now; Josette, who worked with intelligence agencies in Europe and now moves to Wyoming with her new husband, only to find his ex-girlfriend ready to make her life miserable; Emily, who has found she really enjoys her career and while she wants to marry the man she's spent the war waiting for, she doesn't know if she can be happy settling into his idea of what a woman should be; and Eleanor, who is overjoyed to find that she and her husband are expecting, only to find that the man she thought she'd come to know so well through their letters doesn't want the same things she does. The men are just as interesting: Dominick, who can't forgive himself for what he did during the war; Andrew, who is eager to return to his life as a farmer but might have to leave it all behind for his wife; Sam, who has waited years to marry his dream girl only to find they have very different ideas about what their married life will look like; Alvin, whose war injury has ruined his dreams; and Oliver, who has to help stubborn farmers see what the next generation of farming will look like.
I really enjoyed getting to see the story for each character; although we didn't necessarily get as much depth for each characters as we would have in a novel with one or two main characters, the overall look at how a family and a community were impacted by the war was riveting. This is easily my favorite of Ranee Clark's books (and I liked all of the other ones).

I read a copy via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

This book was a pleasure to read. The story takes place time, right after wwii, and dealt with issues like women working and the emotional toll of war. THe different sets of couples were a great element of this book; I hope tHE aUthor Writes A Followup STory continuing the characters. Sam and Emilys story felt rushed at the end; Fay and Mr. Burns story did too. I appreciated that this was a clean historical romance. I will be reading more by this author.

I really enjoyed getting to know the Larsen Clan. The writing was done well. Ranee did a great job of showcasing the emotions in their sorrow and sacrifice, while balancing it with the hope of learning to rise about the challenges they faced. Creating the ability to draw you into the story.

I was so invested in the story I feel she just skimmed the surface. The book jumps back and forth between different characters including members of the family and friends. The characters were so compelling, she could have taken us on an adventure with each giving each their own individual story, as it was it felt rushed. I did enjoy how she ended the book in Momma Larsen’s perspective; wrapping up the conclusion of the whole family.

I liked the story. Was a war love story. Vera Larsen Trumbull lost her husband in WWII and she worked to help her parents and support her children. Her brothers Sam and Andrew return home from the war to help with the family farming. Sam returns to his girlfriend Emily but because Emily wants to continue working and not just marry Sam their relationship takes many turns. Andrew married a Girl from oversees Jo and his old girlfriend who his a society snob makes things very bad for Jo until Andrew finally goes to Susie and tells her she cannot do this any more.
