It was lovely to catch up with some characters from Christmas at Conwenna Cove as well as to meet new ones. There were some lovely descriptions of Cornwall as you might expect as the backdrop to Zoe and Nate's romance. I found this book slightly more formulaic than the previous one but enjoyable nonetheless - the perfect summer escape.
I had not read any of the previous books in this series but i didnt feel as though i was missing out on anything.
Zoe is a local diner owner. She used to be a surfer and married to one but after an accident where she almost died she divorces her husband and opens a diner and starts over.
Nate is a surfer, works in his family cafe and is planning on leaving to travel the world.
Zoe and Nate bond over their love of Greyhounds, they both walk dogs for the local greyhound rescue centre and slowly a frienship forms. Both of them are apprehensive but will they allow themselves to risk it?
Really easy and lovely read. Enjoyed it very much.
If you have never read a Darcie Boleyn novel, or one of the books from her 'Conwenna Cove' series, you are seriously missing out. Whilst I truly feel that 'Forever at Conwenna Cove' is the best book in the series, I am absolutely devastated that the series has now come to an end. How am I going to cope without my dose of the greyhound sanctuary, or the blindsiding details of Conwenna Cove itself? I'm not even joking when I say that it will be very difficult to come to terms with the conclusion of this series and, to be perfectly honest, I don't think I'm ready to admit defeat on this. I would love to see Zoe and Nate reappear in another story later down the line, I really would.
Zoe has had her own fair share of hardships over the years, so when she claps eyes on local surfer heart throb, Nate, she is instantly reminded of the man who broke her heart into smithereens. Whilst Zoe admits that it isn't Nate's fault that he reminds her of her past, she can't help feeling a little bit nostalgic. Should she re-open her heart to a man who she barely knows, yet has managed to make the Earth move just by looking at her? Or should she remain guarded over her past and never let a man near her again, especially if they're a surfer dude?
Zoe's past doesn't come to light until later on in the book which meant that my mind went into overdrive thinking, 'omg did she kill someone?'. There is a lot of to-ing and fro-ing between Zoe and Nate, but the way their paths connect was such a joy to read and would make even the most unromantic person turn romantic in a heartbeat. Trust me, I am said person!
'Forever at Conwenna Cove' was everything I could have wished for in a storyline and more. I giggled until my sides hurt, I 'awwwwww'ed' so many times, my dog thought I was about to give him some love, and I smiled until my cheeks hurt. It is incredible when a book can make you feel happy, cosy and settled, all within a short space of time and honestly, books like that are incredible special. I always knew that Darcie Boleyn was a cut above the rest in terms of her delivery of her storylines and wonderfully crafted characters, but 'Forever at Conwenna Cove' proves that this author is a lot more special than I had originally thought.
Whilst I am incredibly sad that this series has come to an end, I now feel complete after being on such a beautiful journey with Darcie Boleyn and her characters. This book is perfection and perfection alone - thanks to Zoe and Nate, I now have faith that the light at the end of the tunnel will turn on.
By far Darcie Boleyn's best novel yet - beautifully written, inspiring, memorable and definitely one to watch out for. Outstanding.
Firstly, I was so pleased to find myself back at Conwenna Cove. I must confess to not having read Summer at Conwenna Cove (it's still on my TBR list - oops!) but I have read Christmas at Conwenna Cove (feel free to check out my review) and I loved it. I am a village girl, and Conwenna Cove has the same feel to it as my own beloved village. It has a community that knows one another, helps each other, celebrates together and generally just supports each other. This makes a winning combination in a novel, and it's particularly good in a series such as this. Throughout the series various characters pop up that you really want to know more about, so its lovely when you get that opportunity. Forever at Conwenna Cove is no exception to this.
Zoe Russell is the sea-fearing owner of the village diner, and a woman who tends to keep to herself despite having such an open and welcoming business. The hurt of her past stops her from making connections with people that she would clearly benefit from, but she is eager to protect herself from any further pain.
Nate Bryson could not be more different. He is a local surfer who loves the sea, loves people and loves his close family and friends. He has two aims: to run an amazing fundraising event for the local greyhound rescue home, and to finally travel, experiencing the world before he settles down.
Zoe and Nate find themselves working together as Nate throws himself into the planning of his big fundraising event, bringing together local businesses and the wider community. Despite being wildly different people, Zoe and Nate must find a way to work together successfully, with hopefully a little fun and romance thrown in for good measure!
This is such a lovely romance. Zoe has a past that she must learn to accept and move on from whilst Nate must juggle his work, love-life and family at an important time for them all. I really enjoyed following how they dealt with their issues whilst learning more about each other and forming a beautiful friendship. This is a perfect novel to read with a glass of wine, preferably on a beach over what will (hopefully) be a glorious bank holiday weekend. So go and grab yourself a copy!
I just loved this easy read story. It was based in Cornwall but referred to Devon, two of my favourite places.
I love stories where animals are involved and I couldn't have picked up a better story.
This is a story about Zoe who owns the local diner and Nate who is a surfer. Zoe is starting over after a bad marriage.
This was so my kind of story and I found it very hard to put down, absolutely loved it well done to Darcie Boleyn.
It's safe to say that I was pretty excited to be reading the next book in the Conwenna Cove series but on one hand also disappointed that it was the final book! So after getting cosy with a blanket, cup of tea and a couple of biscuits I settled down to read Forever at Conwenna Cove. The first thing I will mention is that you know when an author has a wonderful way with words when I'm not even past the first chapter and I end up getting all teary eyed. Darcie Boleyn writes with emotion, heart and a whole lot of love that will grab hold of you until the very last page.
I said earlier that I couldn't wait to pick up this book and revisit Conwenna Cove, the whole series has been a real delight. Conwenna Cove for me has oodles of charm it is a hopeful, healing place and has an almost magical ability to pull the reader right in. It was lovely to catch up with everyone from the previous books however don't worry as this book easily works as a standalone. I will say that if you do get chance then the whole series is definitely worth reading. I couldn't help but appreciate the warmth of the story and I found myself smiling away to myself throughout.
Zoe and Nate are characters who you can get fully behind and I was rooting for them all the way. I loved how they began a tentative friendship but with a little sprinkling of romance just trying to break through the surface. I have to admit to falling for Nate a little myself and a certain tattoo! There are some wonderful themes in this story about healing, learning to trust and also about following your dreams. Of course last but not least a special mention has to go to the wonderful greyhounds that give this story a lovely little extra special sparkle.
Forever at Conwenna Cove is an uplifting and beautiful story!
Five stars from me!
With thanks to Ellie at Canelo for my copy. This is my honest and unbiased opinion.
Review: I have read all of the Conwenna Cove series and was very excited to be asked by Canelo to be apart of the blog tour for the third in the series Forever in Conwenna Cove. I would like to thank Canelo and for Darcie Boleyn who also agreed to appear on my blog as part of the stop on the blog tour. (The interview will appear in the following blog post)
Conwenna Cove is a beautiful place set in Cornwall. It is a place that draws people who need to take a moment to breathe as they over come life's troubles. Darcie sets the scene amazingly in her writing. Her description of the setting makes you feel like you are right there on the cliff tops walking a grey hound, with the wind in your hair. Conwenna Cove has found a place in my heart. I feel so lucky that I have got to read and review these wonderful books set there.
In this story we get to know more about Nate who features as a good friend in the other two books. I remember saying to Darcie after I had finished reading Christmas at Conwenna Cove that Nate should have his own story and was delighted to fins out there was one on the way. We also meet Zoe Russell, I liked her instantly. Well, we do have the same surname. Zoe's story and reason for being in Conwenna Cove is a lovely story but very sad and something that I can relate to in trying to be something you are not for someone else. Nate appears to be something he isn't either until we get to know him, proof to the saying never judge a book by its cover. Darcie again has created some really strong characters that really carrying the story and it is lovely to find out what other characters are up to and where they are in their lives.
If you like a lovely romance, set in the most beautiful settings, with amazingly strong and real characters that you can't help but fall in love with then this is defiantly a book for you. The other books in this series are: (Listed in order to read, but they can be read as a standalone to but better in order so you know the history of the characters. The author does explain the history of the characters in each book but in such a great way that it doesn't feel like you are reading the same thing over and over.)
Summer at Conwenna Cove
Christmas at Conwenna Cove
I would like to thank Darcie for writing these books. I have also brought all her other books as I love her writing style.
I hope you enjoy Conwenna Cove as much as I do!
This book reads well as a standalone, even though there are previous books in the series, which I haven't read. It's a gentle-paced, romantic read, full of friendly characters and the setting's beautiful imagery.
Zoe runs the local dinner at Conwenna Cove; she's dedicated her life to it, since settling in the cove after a disastrous marriage. Unwilling to face any more rejection and low in self-esteem she is slow in making friends but does befriend a rescue greyhound who she gives all her love, only to lose her.
Nate escaped to the cove when his father died suddenly, working at his paternal uncle's cafe he comes to terms with his grief and feels able to restart his life. Despite their, emotional baggage Nate and Zoe connect, but with one leaving and other scared to have her heartbroken is their love only a beautiful dream?
The plot is predictable, but the characters are authentic and make it worthwhile reading, with a beautifully written conclusion.
I received a copy of this book from Canelo via NetGalley in return for an honest review.
Its lovely to return to Conwenna Cove. Id love to be there at the fundraiser enjoying walk9ng around the stalls and meeting old friends.
Zoe has agreed to help Nate but she us resisting getting too close. They are both nursing heartbreak but feel the draw between them.
I love the characters and the setting and its like wrapping yourself in a lovely cosy blanket and spending hours in a summery haze.. you gradually get to know more about Nate and Zoe and fall more in love with them. I cant wait for another return to Conwenna Cove.
I
Zoe has been living in Conwenna Bay for a couple of years running her diner but having moved there after a lot of heartache she has kept herself to herself......that is until Nate walks into her life! Nate helps run the café with his aunt and uncle and is a real ladies man surfer dude but when he goes to ask Zoe for sponsorship for the fund raising event he is putting on for the greyhound sanctuary he suddenly sees Zoe in a different light......but he is about to go off on a round the world trip so that can be no future for them can there?
A lovely easy read - great to be back with all the characters from the previous books - perfect for the beach and I would definitely recommend the whole series
Today is publication day for this book so, Happy Publication Day, Darcie, look like I am just going to sneak my review in under the wire to celebrate this day with you!
I have only just finished reading this book and I am still basking in its lovely, warm, uplifting glow. Despite the fact that the tentative improvement in the weather seems to be over here for now, I’m feeling a summery optimism.
This book tells the story of vulnerable Zoe, rebuilding her life after being badly let down by people she trusted and determined not to let anyone hurt her that way again, and Nate, equally determined to live life to the full and not end up with any regrets at not chasing his dreams. Despite their reservations, Zoe and Nate are pulled together over the course of a summer in Conwenna Cove, and must decide if they will give in to their mutual attraction, or let their pasts and their fears keep them apart. The story is set in the chocolate box village of Conwenna Cove on the Cornish coast.
So far, so predictable, I hear you say, but you would be quite wrong. This book is very different from anything I have read recently and that is entirely down to the very clever writing and character development by Darcie. I’m not sure exactly how to convey what makes this book feel different, except to say that the author has a very light and sympathetic touch. I fell in love with the characters immediately, they are well-rounded and believable, complete with flaws and insecurities, but totally likeable. The plot is gripping – I was desperate to keep reading and know how it was going to end – but it was also very gentle without any of the twists and huge issues that often get shoehorned into modern novels just because that seems to be how it done. This is a very down-to-earth, every day, personal drama that could be played out in any household across the country on a daily basis, but done in a way that is extremely compelling and rich.
The setting is beautiful – I for one can’t get enough of books set by the coast – with just enough description to make it come to life but not so much that it drags. It is very well-balanced.
The novel is narrow, and I mean this in a very positive way. It doesn’t have a cast of thousands. It is focused and tight, homing in on the relationship between two people that really pulls out the intensity of those personal feelings we all recognise and can sympathise with. It is refreshing and made it stand out for me exactly for the gentle nature of the drama that might seem small to the outside world but is of vital importance to the central characters. It is totally authentic and, for that reason, very relatable to everyone.
I hadn’t realised that this was actually the third book that the author has set in Conwenna Cove when I began to read it and I have not read the previous two. However, although there was some mention of characters that were obviously central to the previous novels, this works perfectly as a standalone and not having read them did not detract from my enjoyment of this one bit. What it did do was make me want to read the previous two immediately, and I have now downloaded them to my Kindle. I really look forward to reading more by this author.
This is a wonderful book, as warm and sweet as a dairy ice-cream on a Cornish summer day but not at all sickly. Go on, treat yourself to this book, you deserve it.
Having been selected to read Forever at Conwenna Cove - I quickly realised from reading the burb that this was the 3rd book in a series and although it is not necessary to have read the first 2 books to enjoy this one I decided to download them and read the series in succession . In a way I’m glad I did because it gave me the back stories of characters that feature in this novel and further enhanced my enjoyment of this book.
This book is the story of Zoe and Nate.
Zoe moved to Conwenna cove some time ago, escaping a painful past where she was betrayed by those she loved the most. Desperate for a new start she has opened a diner which is doing really well but due to a bad scar on her forehead and other insecurities, Zoe hasn’t exactly integrated much with the locals.
Nate a local surfer with looks to match came to the cove to get over the death of his father, currently working for his aunt and uncle, running their cafe he plans to go off traveling to see the world that is until he meets Zoe who he instantly feels a connection with but does Zoe feel the same and can he convince he to take a risk and follow her heart ?
I loved this series of books and would definitely recommend all of them but in particular I think this one was the best of the 3. It features great characters such as Nate’s mum Paula and reoccurring ones such as Jack, Eve,Grace, Oli, Amy and Tom . This is a lovely read if your looking for a series of books or just as a stand alone book. Hopefully Darcie Boleyn will write another and we will return to Conwenna cove sometime soon.
This is the first book that I have read by Darcie Boleyn but I will surely be reading many more because I thoroughly enjoyed it. I found that the prologue and earlier sections of the book to be a little confusing and only really understood their context when I was half way into the book. I was also confused at first by the term Diner for the café and wondered whether I had been mistaken about the setting for the book being in Cornwall and not in the US where this is a more usual term!
Following a broken marriage and an accident, Zoe escapes to Conwenna Bay where she establishes the diner and volunteers for the local greyhound sanctuary. Her life becomes much happier and more peaceful.
The other prominent person in this story is Nate, a local surfer who also has an unsettled background, to say why would give the story away. He has plans to leave Conwenna to go travelling and see the world. Before departing he decides to organise an event to raise funds for the local greyhound sanctuary. Nate approaches Zoe to help with the event an unexpected relationship develops between them and its the development of this relationship within the wider context of the Connwenna community that draws you in and had me reading well into night.
This is the third book in a series about Conwenna Bay, when I had finished this book I immediately bought the second in the series ' Summer at Conwenna Bay', reading this gave me more insights into the wider local community and introduced me to more depth about some of the characters that appeared in the series. I then reread 'Forever at Conwenna Bay' and enjoyed it more the on the second reading because I had greater insights into the wider context of the series. I am saving the treat of the first book in the series 'Christmas at Conwenna Bay' for a later date or if it appears as a daily deal on Amazon. if you like dogs you will certainly enjoy these books which centre on people who share a love of dogs in their life!!!!
Even though Conwenna Cove is a relatively small town in Cornwall, it does not mean everyone knows everyone else, although, they know who they are. In this visit to Conwenna Cove we learn about Zoe. She moved there after a difficult episode in her life. Using the money left to her by her parents, she purchased and now runs the local diner. She recently lost her beloved adopted greyhound and is afraid to give her love to anyone or anything. In the other books in this series we met Nate. He is the local heartthrob, surfer dude and works at his uncle's cafe. He is getting ready to travel the world, but wants to run the fundraiser for the Greyhound Shelter before he leaves. This is where he runs into Zoe. He is meeting with local business people to ask for their support. He knows who Zoe is, but when he actually meets and talks to her, he realizes there is something more to her than he initially thought. Although reluctant to make a commitment due to his impending departure, he cannot resist her. She is dealing with her past and her reluctance to open up to anyone. Will these two be able to connect romantically? We meet up with many of the same characters I have grown to know and love in this series. It is a nice enjoyable read, comfortable, with romance, friendships, camaraderie of small towns and the magic of animals. I recommend this read to anyone who enjoys a good, clean romance that is very realistic, as well as animal lovers. You do not need to have read any of the others in this series to enjoy this book. I have come to enjoy Darcie Boleyn's books and look forward to the next one she has coming out.
The conwenna cove books are a real joy to read and this one is no different. A nice light romantic story that is just perfect for when you want to feel uplifted.
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
I have never been disappointed when reading a novel by this author - and it didn't start here! This novel was stunningly beautiful and so, so well written. As always, I feel that the cover is so pretty and the stunning landscape and beach just draw you straight in. I've really enjoyed every Conwenna Cove novel so I was so pleased that there was another one!
As well as the cover, the fact that this novel is so focused on one dog: the greyhound, was something that made me want to read it even more. In all of the Conwenna Cove series, there has been some involvement with the helping of the greyhounds and this just speaks to me on so many levels. I absolutely adore Greyhounds so I really, really loved this part of the novel. It just added that little extra something to the storyline which made it feel so heartwarming.
The story this time round focuses more on surfer Nate and the lovely Zoe. The pair bond over a charity event which Nate wants to throw to give something back for all what the community has done for him. As they plan the event together, there is no denying the spark between them - it's sizzling! But there's a big question looming over both of them - Can Zoe trust a man again? And does Nate want to get in too deep with someone even though he plans on travelling the world?
I loved this novel and I'm really sad that this is the last one in the Conwenna Cove series! The novels have been incredibly emotional but beautifully written - I didn't want to put it down. It was amazing to be back in Conwenna Cove again for the last time and I enjoyed getting to know these characters as well as hearing a little bit about the past ones. Thank you to the publisher for a chance to read this novel via Netgalley, which I have reviewed honestly.
3.5 stars
I've read and enjoyed the previous books in this series and was pleased to receive an ARC for the latest book. It's a very pleasant and easy book to read. Conwenna Cove would be an ideal place to live. I look forward to more books in this series.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the copy.
Looking for something which I knew I would enjoy - following a few days illness - Darcie Boleyn's forthcoming novel just leapt up off my tbr list. Forever at Conwenna Cove did not disappoint; but then, this author never does!
It's a joy to be back in Conwenna Cove for the summer sunshine. My last visit was during the crisp and snowy winter following the story of Grace and Oli. This time round, readers get to know surfer Nate much better. He is a free spirit with no shortage of females lusting after him but has never fallen in love and has plans to travel the world. Before departing on his trip, he decides to run a second fundraiser for the greyhound sanctuary. When he seeks help from local businesses to sponsor the event, he gets to know Zoe Russell, owner of Zoe's Diner, just that little bit better and there is no denying the spark of attraction between them. But with her reticence to get involved, an obvious secret in her past, and his travel plans, who knows where it will all lead?
This novel has so much happening and lots of intertwining stories. Life in Conwenna - as in all our worlds - is never straightforward and this author writes beautifully, penning believable tales with realistic characters. With lots of ups and downs and plenty of laughs this is an uplifting read, and a fitting third book in this series. I've been completely transported to a sunny beach with light breezes and yummy treats - and after the winter we have suffered it did me good! This is a read to sink into and let the location wash over you whilst getting to know the inhabitants, dreaming their dreams and hoping their hopes. A fabulous summer novel!
My thanks to publishers Canelo for pre-approving my copy via NetGalley. This is my honest, original and unbiased review.
Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for this arc in exchange for my honest review.
Zoe is plodding along in life no friends, family or man dragged down by her history. Until she mates Nate who opens her eyes to love but he is planning on travelling the world. Can he persuade Zoe to make a go of it?
Reading the Conwenna Cove books is like meeting up with friends. I love their relationships and progress and this was a perfect read.
