Beautifully written. I loved so much how she showed the strength of a mother's love. Never give up hope and always keep fighting. Will definitely look for more books by this author.
Thank you, She Writes Press , for an e-copy arc of this book, otherwise I probably wouldn't have been exposed to it. This book definitely was something not on my radar but I'm very glad I read it. I felt I needed to devour it to find out the ended. The story itself was intense, the drama was well-written, and a mother's love for her daughter was a very well thought theme. The pain is so real in this book and you can totally feel it, you wanted to finish to find out the outcome, and it didn't disappoint.
This book is beautifully written and you immediately can connect with the main character. Her emotions are laid out on the pages for everyone to read and it is compelling. A fierce story that will bring you to tears and instantly captures your attention from the beginning. I highly recommend!
*Thanks to NetGalley and She Writes Press for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.* This a beautiful and most story about loss and the redemptive power of love. When Maddy Stewart made a split-second decision to leave her daughter Vinni on the beach, little did she know how much it would alter the trajectory of both of their lives. When Maddy returns, Vinni is gone without a trace. The book then charts her relentless search for her daughter, at the same time as putting back together the pieces of her shattered life. A fascinating and at times harrowing read. I would love to read a sequel if there is to be one.
Definite page turner! This book goes places you do not initially expect - twisting and turning outside the places the genre usually goes. I found the action to be a bit slow to pick up, but it gives a complex look on a mother's dedicated search for her missing daughter.
I really liked this book. It was a quick read because it was so good and I just wanted to see what happened. I would recommend this book.
I sat all day & into the evening to finish this book by Julie Maloney. Thank you again for ARC of this book that pulls on the heartstrings especially if you are a parent or shall I say a Mother. Thank you NetGalley again for this ARC book. It honestly has been a personal best for me that I’ve read so far in 2018. I will not give any spoilers. I’ll say this, if you get the opportunity to read this book please do. It’s one that will give you something to think about and all the feels. I cannot wait to read another book by Julie Maloney.
I loved this book. It pulls you in and doesn't let go. As I mother, I could feel her pain and be filled with the hope of someday being reunited with her lost child.
Really enjoyed this book. Such a superb debut novel. I couldn't wait to get to the ending. Will look forward to others coming from this author.
This is an excellent debut novel. The book is well written and the characters are intriguing. I gave it 4 stars as I found it a little slow at parts. Overall, it was an enjoyable read.
I absolutely loved "A Matter of Chance" and couldn't put it down until I finished. Maddie and Vinnie had such an unbreakable connection. This mother will not give up until her questions are answered and lost is found
Excellent book! I will highly recommend this! Touching story of a woman whose child is kidnapped and her search to find her
It wasn’t what I was expecting. But still a good read. A little slow at times but I finally made it to the end!
wow, I enjoyed this book. Its my worst night.are come to life on the pages. While the mother was trying to help a neighbor in distress, her precious daughter disappears. You will not put this book down until you have read the last page. I was given an a digital copy of this book by Net Galley and the published in exchange for my honest review
A touching story of a mother whose daughter is stolen and the lengths she went through to find her. Such a good read.
I had skipped over this book but decided to take a chance on it, as I had been downloading novels that fell short of the mark. So glad I did. This had me from the first page. Riveting, engrossing, and a wonderful storyline. Highly recommend. Fabulous writing as well.
When Maddy's daughter disappears, She gets, of course, a little maniacal. Desperate to find her missing daughter, she does some crazy things. She's hell bent on a mission and I don't blame her. However, she does do a lot of dumb stuff, desperate in her search.
I found this to be a decent read. There were times when I felt that the story bogged down a little, but just as fast, the action would pick right back up.
In the end, I was glad that I got to read this book as I sped through it reading it all in one sitting.
Thanks to She Writes Press and Net Galley for providing me with a free e-galley in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.
I started the book thinking I am not sure if this will be a good one, but wow, it was fantastic. The book centers on Maddy after she discovers her daughter has been kidnapped while with someone she thought she could trust. What follows is a five year journey of a distraught mom looking for her 8 year old daughter, Vinnie. Maddy never stops believing that her daughter is still alive. The story does read a lot like a diary where Maddy's every emotion is there for us the read about. I just could not put this book down! It is not often a book will keep me up late at night reading. Very riveting! I received a complimentary e-book from the publisher in exchange for a review.
On the cover we see Vinni on the edge of a beach.
It all starts when Vinni, eight, disappears. His single mother is collapsed. She is looking for her daughter in the hope of seeing her again soon. Detective John D'Orfini in charge of the investigation suggests he stay away. She does it at her head until she puts her life in danger.
A story full of twists with endearing characters. I hung on. For a first novel, the author has outdone herself. I recommand it.
"Time does not heal. It stretches the pain so it lies flat like a sheet, but it does not heal."
On an ordinary day at the Jersey shore, an eight year old little girl disappears. Vinni was there one minute and when her Mom, Maddy turned back after making a 911 call- she vanished.
How, where and with whom are what we try to resolve.
This is a gripping story, one that will leave you shaken . It's every parent's nightmare.
Maddy needs to accept that Vinni is gone, but she can't and won't. She begins her own dangerous search for her daughter.
I could not put this novel down, it is excellent!
