I wasn't quite sure what to expect from this book's description, but it was a great read. Hannah had been hurt before and didn't want to trust another guy, especially after Mason hit on her while wearing a wedding ring. Misunderstandings and hilarity ensue. I loved watching Hannah grownas a person and learn that there really are good guys out there.
This is a sweet and sexy love story. Mason, the male lead, is a perfect book boyfriend. Although Mason had instant attraction to Hannah, it was not an insta love story. The reader gets to see them get to know each other quickly. Mason paid attention to Hannah's needs and likes. I would love to read more about the McNally brothers. Thanks Entangled Publishing for ARC of this title via NetGalley.
DNF-ed at 25%--just not for me :(
I really liked the ideas behind the story, but the execution just didn't work. Characters are wooden, writing is often choppy and awkward (heroine's face described as a "creamy oval" as he puts his hands on either side of it to kiss her?) and I just couldn't make myself finish it.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
The synopsis didn't reflect the actual plot. I had a hard time connecting with the story mainly because the characters appeared not all together there. Mason appeared stalkerish which at first was made to be funny but wasn't really and Hannah was really not a cohesive character. She appears to be a highly sexual person but seems to be denying this too much. She also is an accomplished career person so being wishy washy about what she really wanted didn't jive with the overall personality. The sex scenes where the only thing that made these two work as a couple. It's a short read but took awhile to finish.
This was one of those books that you just have a smile on your face the whole time. Hannah was so relatable and Mason, well hot of course! Although there was a slight misunderstanding when they met, their interactions were just so fun! I will definitely be looking for more books by this author.

mason mcnally might be a bit of a stalker. maybe. when he meets hannah daniels at the laundromat in just one spark and tries to hit on her, he forgets that he's wearing a wedding band as part of an experiment his academic brother is conducting. hannah shuts him down and tries to forget about the latest married creeper trying to hit on her.
but mason is the kind of guy who grew up listening to fairy tales, his parents got married after three days of knowing each other. and mason, knows that hannah is the one for him. now he just has to convince her.
this won't be an easy task. hannah has been burned badly. and she's always wanted more for herself than marriage and kids. she has career goals and relationships don't figure into that.
but mason is strong and steadfast in his conviction. if he takes it slow enough to not scare her, he might just be able to convince her to take the chance. loving someone comes with a risk and no guarantees. all hannah needs to do is trust that mason will not let her down.
**just one spark will publish on april 9, 2018. i received an advance reader copy courtesy of netgalley/entangled publishing (lovestruck) in exchange for my honest review.
First of all, can we talk about how much I love a romance reading heroine? Hannah loves to escape into the fantasy world of romance novels to forget her own bad luck with men. When Mason approaches her at the laundromat she’s definitely attracted to him−that is until she spots a wedding ring on his finger. Repulsed by the idea of yet another married man trying to use her to cheat on his wife she makes a quick exit, while Mason is left feeling like he just lost an opportunity with the girl of his dreams.
Not only is Mason not married, but he was only wearing the ring to help his brother with a psychology study he was working on. But Mason is anything but a quitter. He begins a mission to track down this mystery laundromat girl and repair the bad impression she got of him. Mason is a total romantic whose parents taught him that it’s completely possibly to see a woman and just know right from the beginning that she’s the one for you. And that’s what he feels for Hannah. If only he could find her again and avoid looking like a stalker while doing it.
This novel really embraces the idea that when someone is meant for you, fate will find a way to bring you two together. I’d like to say that some of it was due to chance or coincidences but really, Mason’s determination and his consistency really play a big part. He’s supportive and straight-forward and always makes sure that Hannah knows where he stands in terms of his feelings for her and his idea of where they’re headed. He does the most adorable little things for her, like stocking her favorite teas at his apartment and making time in his hectic work schedule to get to see her as often as possible, to make sure she feels comfortable and cared for. And he’s a sexy fireman to boot! Seriously, if Jenna Bayley-Burke could just let me know where to find a man like Mason, I’d really appreciate it.
Hannah is a very career-oriented woman who has worked her butt off to get to where she is. It’s not that she’s not interested in romance, but her history with having her heart broken leaves her a bit gun-shy when it comes to allowing someone into her heart. Her family doesn’t really understand or respect her job and all that she’s accomplished but would prefer to see her taking on the roles of wife and mother instead. Mason is one of the few people who truly has her back and encourages her in her career goals and celebrates her accomplishments. She’s a bit hesitant to put her heart at risk yet again but eventually realizes that with Mason she finds a place where she feels safe and loved. I’m sure all the amazing sex doesn’t hurt either.
I honestly adored this novel from start to finish. I really connected with Hannah’s feelings of protectiveness and trust issues because of her history with men. Mason was the perfect match to balance out her fears and make her feel supported and cared for. Openness, consistency and reliability might not sound like the sexiest traits but when paired with Mason’s passion and desire they were enough to make my mouth water. Why don’t more people celebrate how incredibly sexy a supportive, caring man can be? Hey romance authors, get on that please. I mean…keep in all the dirty talk and hot sex but can your heroes be good listeners who will draw you a nice hot bath too? Thank you in advance.
If you want to read a sexy romance where the hero is the whole package, but not so perfect as to be a caricature, you need to pick up JUST ONE SPARK. If you love a heroine who has goals and aspirations of her own and isn’t afraid to go after them, this one if for you. This story is full of sweet, funny and incredibly sexy moments that will be sure to brighten your day.

I discovered JBB a couple of months ago and I am loving her writing style so much!!
Mason is a firefighter who agrees to participate in his brother's experiment that women hit on married men more. He didn't think anything of it until his participation completely blew his chance with the perfect woman. Hannah is tired of unavailable men making her their target so when an unbelievably hot, seemingly taken, man sets his sites on her, she dismisses him completely. Mason has no choice but to find her and fix this.
I absolutely loved that Mason was all in from the very beginning and moved mountains to be with Hannah. Hannah is intelligent, independent, and deserving of a HEA but everyone around her makes her doubt that. I actually didn't like any of her family because instead of supporting her, they seemed to down her every chance they got. I can't wait to see what comes next in this series!

Hannah Daniels isn't very trusting, especially the moment she meets Mason McNally and he flirts with her while wearing a wedding ring. However, Mason isn't one to give up on something he wants and what he wants is for Hannah to give him a chance. Will Mason be able to win Hannah over or will their shot at happy ever after never happen?
Ms. Bayley-Burke always manages to entertain me with her books and this was such an entertaining read, especially with the way it starts because the hero has some serious explaining to do if he's going to win over the heroine. Will Mason be able to win Hannah over once she discovers the truth about him and why he was flirting with her while wearing a wedding ring? Will the heroine give the hero a chance, even though her choices with men has never been good in the past?
As for the dialogue, it was intense due to the main characters back stories, especially that of the heroine because she's been hurt in the past by a man she was involved with and I could understand why she's cautious when it comes to giving a man a chance. Moreover, the heroine is hard-working, resilient and I liked that she gave the hero a chance, despite the fact that an ex is still causing her trouble and she may have a stalker. However, there were times when I thought the heroine could have handled things a bit better, especially when it came to her family and her best friend's spur-of-the-moment marriage. Then again, it's hard to be supportive when her family don't seem very supportive of her choices when it comes to her career and men she's dated. Will her family ever be supportive of her choices in life?
While the hero, he's confident, hard-working, supportive of the heroine's ambitions and I liked how determined he was to win over Hannah because he believes in love at first sight and knew Hannah was the woman for him. I also liked the close relationship the hero has with his family and that he would do anything to help each of his brothers, especially since what he does for one of his brothers in the beginning gets him in the heroine's bad books. Will his brother be able to help him get back into the heroine's good books?
Overall, Ms. Bayley-Burke has delivered a really good read in this book where the chemistry between this couple was strong; the romance full of passion and heat; and the ending had me loving that the heroine finally realized what she wanted before it was too late. However, what I liked most of all about the ending of this book was the hero's surprise for the heroine. Will the heroine give him the answer he wants? I would recommend Just One Spark by Jenna Bayley-Burke, if you enjoy the opposites attract trope or books by authors Erin Nicholas, Amy Andrews, Kira Archer and Stina Lindenblatt.
Very cute and fast read but I didn't warm up to one of the main characters, which is Hannah and I can't figure out why. No matter, it was a good story to wile away a cold and snowy day.
Just One Spark by Jenna Bayley-Burke has an interesting first meeting between the main characters that sets the stage for this fun romance. You can see how the misconception guide this story early on. From then on it is a hot firefighter chasing after a sassy workaholic woman. Not a bit serious but one of pure escapism fun reading.
Mason has helped his brother out in an experiment but missed his dream come true girl in the process. I must admit Derek was as interesting if overly talkative then Mason is. However, this is the hot firefighter brother’s story. Hannah is not as charming as Mason, bordering on shrewish at times. Instead of taking away from the story she is the more intriguing of the two.
Amusing story that is well-written with at least one of the female main character being a bit peculiar in her actions. There are some unusual moments in the story because of this. Still for those who enjoy lust/love at first sight romance, Just One Spark is the one for you. The title says it all just one spark starts this fire of a romance.
Just One Spark is a love at first sight contemporary romance. The synopsis makes the novel sound interesting and I have a soft spot for firefighters. Initially, the female is interesting and unique, but quickly loses her appeal. Unfortunately, the story quickly becomes exhausting, The hero becomes obsessed with finding the heroine to the point of stalking. Ouch, not attractive at all. Not to mention, he becomes obsessed with her because he can’t over how beautiful she is and the fact that he found her read erotica while sitting on a running washing machine in public.
I tried to give this one a fighting a chance, but their relationship just didn’t sit well with me, maybe due to its tainted beginning. The story ends just as abruptly as it begins and is just as unsatisfying.
This is a fun read with plenty of laughs throughout this engaging story. It starts with Hannah Daniels reading a steamy romance whilst sitting on the vibrating washing machine cleaning her laundry in a laundromat! That's where firefighter Mason McNally spies her and is instantly attracted. He tries to talk to her but she spots the wedding ring he's wearing and won't have anything to do with him! The fact that he isn't married and is only wearing it as part of research for his brother won't help him. He ends up trying to discover where she lives, accused of being a stalker . . . . Well, you get the idea!
It is a lovely read with great characters, hilarious, laugh out loud moments and a dose of turmoil, too, making it a real page turner that I thoroughly enjoyed escaping into. I have no hesitation in recommending this to anyone looking for a heart-warming romance that will bring a grin to your face and have you chuckling as you read it!
I requested and was lucky enough to be given a copy of this novel, via NetGalley, with no obligation. This is my honest review of the book after choosing to read it.
This is a cute fun read that definitely left me smiling. Hannah and Mason are fun characters and their original meeting had me laughing out loud. Luckily they got past that awkward situation and find they fit together and their chemistry explosive.
Nothing too deep in this one but if you're looking for a fun lighthearted read this is the book for you. I highly recommend it.

I look forward to reading more from Jenna Bayley-Burke.
Hannah meets this gorgeous guy AND he hits on her but of course, he is wearing a wedding ring. Firefighter Mason knows that when he meets the "one", he will do anything and everything for her. He finds her sitting on top of a washer at the laundromat but he's wearing a wedding ring for his brothers psychology experiment. Mason needs to figure out how to get Hannah to believe that he is her forever.
If you like steamy romance with love at first sight then this book is for you.
Just One Spark is my first book by this author. I was attracted to the description of the book. (Who doesn’t like reading about a fireman?!?!?) Sadly, I stopped around the 20% part of the book. I just could not get into Derek and Hannah. This is a love at first sight book for Derek, but Hannah sees a wedding ring on his finger during their first meeting and she doesn’t believe him when he says he forgot to take it off. He then becomes a stalker and they meet at a coffee shop while he is meeting his brother.
Hannah Daniels reads steamy romance novels to forget her last trip on the love roller coaster shredded her heart and tossed it like confetti. Her instincts about men stink, but at work they’re on point. Only her busy schedule means she reads whenever she can make time. Like at the laundromat while sitting on top of a washing machine. Don’t judge.
Firefighter Mason McNally has searched his whole life for a woman who stirs his soul. When he finds her, she’s nose-deep in a racy paperback atop a vibrating washer. Her beauty, boldness, and raw sensuality ignite his interest. But there’s a problem. He’s forgotten he’s wearing a wedding ring.
No amount of hasty explanations that it’s for his brother’s psychology experiment convinces her to give him a chance. But he’s rushed into fiery situations before, and this woman is totally worth the risk. He’ll just have to prove to her that first impressions can be wrong and their spark of attraction is oh so right.
Hannah is in the laundromat when she meets Mason. Unfortunately Mason had been participating in an experiment for his psychologist brother and was wearing a wedding ring. Hannah tells him off for hitting on her and even though Mason says he’s not married, she doesn’t believe him.
Hannah had been dating previously but then found out that the guy was married with a family and she was crushed by what she thought of as her own stupidity. She doesn’t trust men in general right now and is just interested in her career.
Mason is determined to talk to Hannah once again so he basically stalks her until he can find her, but fails. It’s through Hannah’s married sister that she ends up meeting Mason’s brother and then is re-introduced to Mason. They find out that they are neighbors in the same building and he lives right above her. Despite Hannah’s decisions to take things slowly they can’t seem to keep their hands off of each other. For Hannah, however, this is just the beginning of what might be a lasting relationship. For Mason this is the beginning of forever. He wants her and he’s not about to let her go.
This starts off as a decent story, although Mason’s stalking is a bit creepy. Unfortunately all I ever really felt for this couple, as the book moved on, was awkwardness. I never felt comfortable with the pair and I think it was because of Hannah. I found her to be incredibly irritating. She was stubborn, grated on my nerves and at times she was down-right mean to Mason. He had his issues but overall he was a nice guy who seemed to truly care about her. He deserved way better, imho. Throughout the whole book Hannah never tells Mason she loves him. Never. I found that extremely odd in a romance.
There were some parts of the book that were better than others but I found them few and far between. I didn’t realize as I was reading the book that I had read it before. I think I must have blocked it, or something because only one part really made me think, “Have I read this before?” According to Goodreads I read it 4 years ago but sadly I didn’t like it any better this time around.

Mason sees Hannah for the first time sitting atop the washing machine reading a romance novel, and is in love.
Hannah thinks Mason is married, he’s wearing a wedding ring for his brothers experiment, and doesn’t want to have anything to do with him.
I really enjoyed reading Just one spark. It was funny, quirky, sexy and romantic. Mason goes for what he wants and his patience with Hannah, who is a little cautious having trouble trusting her instincts after her last relation was totally swoon worthy.
A fun fun fun read !
