I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
First off, the cover and title were wierd but funny. After read the description, I laughed and just had to read the book whether or not I got an ARC copy. I was so happy that the book fufilled the promise of of the cover and description.
I have honestly never read a book like this before and I love when I can say that about a book.
Nick is a this that's trying to reform. Stella is a would be thief that trying to steal a diamond from a shiekh. The two have the most epic meet cute ever; they meet in a jewelry store and Stella uses him to steal an engagement ring.
The book is kinda the opposite of most romance books. Usually if there is a bad 'guy' in the relationship, the other partner works to 'save' them. Or if they both turn bad usually their is a more seriousness in the storyline. This story is him helping her and her group steal. He falls back into criminal activities fairly easy. And there is alot of laughter (on my part) throughout the book.
I'm so glad I got this book. I feel like I've found a favorite author. I definitely will recommend this book.
I'm kicking myself for not reading this author sooner because this book was such a fantastic read!!
Nick is fresh out of jail and planning on staying on the straight and narrow. Out of his eye he spies a drop dead gorgeous woman in a jewelry store. Everything in him urges him to keep on trucking but when the chance to walk into the store to check her out literally falls out of her purse there is no way he can pass up the opportunity to get up close. When he witnesses one of the best sleight of hand pulled off in front of his eyes he knows he'll be finding out a whole lot more about Stella Peretti.
Stella and her two besties Roxie and Ruth make up the team of Shimmy Shimmy Bang, a trio of jewelry theives. They have plans for the heist that will set them up for the good life but then both her besties are laid up with injuries.
Once she finds out who Nick is she won't be letting him get a one up on her but maybe there's a whole lot more to him than just one of the best in the business.
I loved how these two characters connected. They didn't try to deny the attraction. They just went for it and figured it out along the way and the ending was absolutely brilliant.

Hilarious, sexy, romantic escapades.
Very clever humorous female based robin hood jewel thieves, with a joyous happy ever after.
What a fun read.
Shimmy Bang Sparkle is by Nicola Rendell. I’ve been such a fan of Nicola’s since I first came across her books. But just when I thought she couldn’t amaze me any more, when she couldn’t make me fall in love any deeper, she did!
Nick Norton is forty years old, covered in tattoos, rides a Ducati motorcycle, and just got out of prison. You see, Nick is or rather “was” a thief, who specialized in his knack for picking locks and opening safes. It wasn’t necessarily a profession he chose, he just sort of was pushed into it once his abilities were discovered. But, he got caught and now he’s out. It’s the life of the straight and narrow for him now. He has no interest in going back to prison. It was just by happenstance, though, that he was in the right place at the right time that day, and he saw her. The most beautiful woman he had ever seen. Of all places, she was in a jewelry store trying on a diamond ring. He had to get closer. He had to talk to her. Then he saw her do it, and she was no amateur, she stole the ring, right out from under the nose of the sales lady.
Nick should run, not walk, away from this woman. She was everything he needed to stay away from. But he couldn’t. He had to know more about her, he needed to know more about her.
“With her in my arms, I felt hope. And I wanted to protect that.”
Stella Peretti was a jewel thief along with her two best friends. They called themselves the Shimmy Shimmy Bangs. But they didn’t steal for their own gain. They were like lady Robin Hoods. Right now the person that needed her help was her elderly neighbor, Mr. Bozeman. She could not let the hunky man that just walked in distract her. Really, though, he was a walking, talking distraction. So when he showed back up later that day, she couldn’t say no when he asked her out to dinner. And so they began, Stella and Nick. Their chemistry was off the charts. They awoke something in each other that perhaps both had given up on.
“She made things happen inside me I hadn’t felt in years. Maybe ever. Things I didn’t know I ever deserved to feel at all. Gratitude. Peace. Possibility. Hope. Love. Once-in-a-lifetime love.”
Stella and her friends had been planning on something big for awhile now. But both of her friends suffered an accident and Stella was on her own. Could she accept Nick’s offer to help and put his future in danger? Or should she take his help? It’s her last job and the biggest thing she has ever attempted. Then the future would be theirs.
“With a single look, he could make the world fall away.”
I think this sets the stage for you. These two were good people, loyal to the ones they loved, they just chose a different sort of career than most people. But they wanted to go straight. This was their very last job. It was a beautiful thing watching things develop between them. It might seem like it was fast but what they had was real and true. They were perfect for each other. Nicola has found the perfect balance in this book between sweet romance, smoking hot sexy times, and suspense. I could not put this book down. This is probably a strange thing to say but Stella made me want to be a better person. I’m sure you are thinking, “What!” with her being a jewel thief and all. But you will understand when you get to know her. She’s just that wonderful.
I do want to take a minute, though, to say that the character that REALLY stole the show in this book was the dachshund Priscilla. This dog was adorable and made me want to run right out to the nearest shelter and adopt one. I can’t wait for you to meet her.
All I can say in closing is if you are a romance lover, you just have to read this book. My heart is all gooey just writing this. I absolutely fell in love with Stella and Nick and I hope you will too.
“She was everything I’d never known I needed, and everything I could never be without.”
Nick was fresh out of prison and looking forward to starting over and living his life well. Then he catches a glimpse of heaven through the window of a jewelry store. He can’t look away. And thoughts of moving forward without her are no longer possible. He walks into that store and takes in the full picture that is Stella. She’s not only physically gorgeous, but she had a personality to match. Everything about her sang to him. Every part of her called to him. And when he sees her pull off a sleight of hand befitting a pro, he knows that he’s not letting her go. Who makes the perfect match for a jewel thief? Another jewel thief.
I’ve read quite a few books by Nicola Rendell, but this was by far my favorite of the bunch. It was fresh, unique, and increasingly entertaining as the story progressed. I loved the plot, its characters, and the way this author played on my emotions. The dynamic between Nick and Stella was not only incredibly hot, it was sweet, fun, and found a way to lift my spirits. I had an absolute blast reading about these two and I’m pretty sad to see them go. However, with a fantastic supporting cast of characters, such as Ruth and Roxie, I’m holding out hope that I’ll see them again.
I have read books written by this author before and absolutely loved them so there was a certain expectation before I even started reading Shimmy Bang Sparkle and Nicola Rendell certainly didn't disappoint. This story had me hooked from the very first chapter. I loved the story line, it was different and I can recall the moment I realised how perfect the title of the book is and the meaning behind it. The main characters Nick and Stella were fabulous! I loved their personalities and the connection they had and it was a pleasure to read their story. Let's not forget the supporting characters they were perfect and fitted into the story perfectly. This book had everything..... angst, humour, romance, and heat. I loved how it all started for the girls and the reasons behind their actions.
This is the first book I've read by Nicola Rendell and let's just say I was hooked from the beginning.
Nick has just been released from prison and runs into the beautiful Stella. There is an instantly attraction between the two and it is scorching.
There was humor, romance, and some slightly tense moments. I couldn't get enough! Plus, a group of modern day Robin Hoods with the Shimmy Shimmy Bangs! How can you not love that! I would love to learn more about Roxie and Ruth.
This is a fantastic read that is full characters you will simply fall in love with!
This wasn't really my cup of tea. I like more romance and less of a heist type of story. I am more of a love story type of girl. Still a good book, just not my favorite. That is just me though.

Solid 4 - 4.5 stars from me!
I really enjoyed this story and both of the main characters. Their banter with one another was delightful and hilarious and hot AF. Exactly what you'd expect from Nicola Rendell.

Fantastic book! I loved the chemistry between Nick and Stella, and the banter between the two had me laughing, and the sexy times were muy caliente! The story moved at a good pace and didn't feel stagnant anywhere, and I was a bit surprised by the ending but that just further enhanced the story. This is one book I highly recommend!
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS BOOK!!! From the very first chapter Nicola Rendell drew me in. The humor, the different plot line, the sexy. It was all here!! I especilly loved the fact that both Nick and Stella jumped head first into the relationship. And it was HOT!!! We could all use a bit of Nick in our life.
First things first, because I feel the need to get this off my chest. I didn’t like the book title! Shimmy Bang Sparkle! What the hell is that all about? But I do love Nicola Rendell’s writing style so it was a given I would read it and now, I’ve read it, I agree it could not have had a better title. It was like a full on green eggs and ham turnaround moment.
Shimmy Bang Sparkle it is. And Shimmy Bang Sparkle is perfect.
From page one, I was sold. Stella Peretti is a goddess. She’s a modern day Robin Hood with a modern day band of merry men - well she has Roxie and Ruth and the gorgeous show stealer Priscilla. I adored Priscilla.
Nicola writes with humour, making the characters of Nick and Stella pop out of the pages they are the Sparkle. A woman trying to escape from the police by crawling out of a bathroom window and getting stuck half in half out. Priceless. The plot, so often lacking in contemporary romance, is stellar. Show stoppingly brilliant and full of Bang. The sexy scenes fit the story but are not the main event.
If you want a book with a great story that will have you smiling from beginning to end, this book is for you.

This book owned me. Loved it.
Witty, sexy and romantic this worked as a romance, but it was also a gripping thriller. I was reading this through my fingers at times, so nervous, willing things to go their way.
They're both jewel thieves, but the ethics are neatly dealt with as there's something of a Robin Hood motivation for their misdeeds which of course makes grand theft perfectly fine. Completely fine. Really. It's not the dark, grisly underbelly of hard crime though this book, but more about overcoming obstacles, working together and excelling in a craft. Yep, so that craft is theft, but still a skill. Who knew?
It was gripping, totally mesmerising to read, the tension interspersed with so many sweet swoony moments. *sigh*
And can we just talk about their first kiss? Yes the smut was scorchio, but the first kiss in this made my belly drop, just...outstanding.
This is my favourite from this author to date and is highly recommended for anyone looking for romance, feels, swoons and some page turning tension. You're in for a treat.
Standalone, complete story.
I devoured this book! I'm a fan of Nicola's writing so when I saw this I immediately requested it.
Great pace and what an ending!
Thanks for the arc.
All Nick Norton wants is to stay on the straight and narrow…and never get caught stealing again. Then he lays eyes on her: Stella Peretti—100 percent sexy and absolutely irresistible. Especially when he sees her smooth moves lifting a two-karat diamond. Nick realizes he’s found the sparkling woman of his dreams—one so perfect for him it’s almost criminal. The Shimmy Shimmy Bangs are master jewel thieves who are planning the heist of the century. And Shimmy leader, Stella, isn’t about to let anyone—even if he is a hunky, tatted-up studmuffin—get in her way. When I started reading I couldn't put it down I read the book in one day.Nicola is magnifysent writer.I cannot wait to read more of her books.Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book
Wow, I'm kinda surprised how much I loved, Shimmy Bang Sparkle. Plus the ending was not what I expected, however it really works.
