This is a very entertaining read. It's set in 1950s Dublin when life was hard and working class families suffered working from morning until night to put food on their tables. It's a story told by Danny who watches his family crumble before his eyes. It laments the situation in which he and his family and friends find themselves while the fat cats live off the spoils of their deceit and corruption. Unfortunately times haven't changed too much. The same is visible in 2020 just as it was in 1950. This is a very good read, full of humour and very entertaining, but hard hitting in parts as the author points in the direction of the rich and powerful, the politicians and decision makes, those who fed the rich and blamed the poor for their circumstance. I'd highly recommend this read.
