Thanks to netgalley.com and Serial Box for the advance ARC for my honest review.

"Line of Fire", is the tenth installment of a series that, will total 11 episodes, that makes up False Idol, Season 1 and the author varies with each episode.

Kind of predictable, that Layla would figure it out, ends up getting into the US embassy, although you got kind off a red herring as to who the bad guy actually is and felt it could have been better than what the author wrote.

For example, Layla knowing what she know's would have had her badge, her gun would have been loaded, she'd be wearing it, once in flashed the badge and the Marines would have aided her faster.

Plus wouldn't either Youssef or Muharib have protestors, a guard or two watching the outside of building, doubt it be just 3 doing a job like that, won't either have someone at least watching the stairway leading to the basement.

Will say this with one episode left, definitely feel like this would be a better read had it been a novel written by one author verse changing every episode.

This next to last episode of the series definitely lives up to the title of fire. Layla is in a world of panic when she discovers that the explosives that she thought were sent to Washington D.C. were actually sent to Cairo instead. Now she's in a race against time to find the bombs and save everyone at the embassy. Layla runs into many obstacles trying to save the day. But our favorite undercover agent manages to just pull it off. But not without a secret or two getting out.

This installment has Layla going to the US embassy after she realizes the shipment of explosives that she thought was going to the US is actually in Cairo and the likely target is the US operations. She is thwarted in getting into the embassy because she doesn’t have her official credentials, but after getting someone to take her seriously, she then finds out that the embassy has been swept for bombs because of an event taking place there.
Eventually, Layla finds Pierce and her ideas are taken seriously. Layla, Pierce and the marines start a search of the embassy. I won’t go into too many more details as that would spoil the story. Needless to say, the twists and turns continue in this episode.
Still enjoying this tale and looking forward to the final episode.
Thank you NetGalley and publisher, Serial Box, for the opportunity to read this ARC.
