"In the last month, San Antonio has become a dumping ground for battered bodies. All young women, many of them long missing, almost all forgotten. Until now."

Wow! What a hook! Texas Ranger Logan Raintree has a knack, a gift, for solving cases, although his biggest regret is not being able to prevent the death of his own wife at the hands of the brother of a man who Logan arrested and sent to death row. He's spent the last year trying to move on with his life, after taking two years off to mourn his wife, when he is approached by an FBI agent, a member of the Krewe of Hunters, an elite group of paranormal investigators. He's not sure if it's the right fit for him, but he agrees to investigate the string of murders happening in his own town.

Kelsey O’Brien, a U.S. marshal, has a gift of her own, and is approached by the same FBI agent to join the new team he is putting together, and has her own reservations, but she, too, agrees to stay long enough to find the person kidnapping and killing women.

I enjoyed this book very much. I hadn't realized it was part of a series when I started it, but it worked very well as a stand-alone book. It was well written with an interesting mystery, and the characters were all fleshed out and given room to learn and grow throughout the story. I loved that the romance didn't overshadow the mystery of the missing women. The setting was described beautifully, and I was able to imagine it clearly even though I've never been to San Antonio, Texas. I really want to go visit the Alamo now, though, after reading this book.

In summary, although I haven't read the other books in this series, I enjoyed this book very much and had no problem following along. I can definitely recommend it and look forward to reading the other books in the series.

5/5 stars.

I received a copy of this book free of charge in exchange for my honest opinion.

The Unseen is a paranormal mystery/romance novel, which deals with a mysterious murder case in 1800s and current murders.

If you like ghost stories, Texan kind of tough guy, and some sex scenes, this is the book for you. You'll be entertained. However, if you look for a mystery book you may get bored. As long as you know what you are looking for, you won't get disappointed.

Thanks to Netgalley for a preview copy.

he FBI has some unsolved murder cases linked to Rose Langley and the Alamo. Rose was supposed to have been kidnapped and murdered by Matt Meyer in room 207 at the Longhorn Hotel in San Antonio. Rose was hiding the Galveston diamond he wanted and she wouldn't give up. Agent Jackson Crow is sent to form a team of Special agents to find the killer of these woman who all seemed linked together. A woman was murdered recently in room 207 but the body was never recovered. Logan Raintree a Texas ranger and Wind Spirit lost his wife because he couldn't get to her in time and she died he is being considered leading the team he talks to ghosts. So does Kelsey O'Brien she was sent to consider a job offer ,currently a U.S.Marshall living in Florida. She is staying at the Longhorn Hotel because her childhood friend Sandy now owns it. Birds have a odd way of showing up crows mostly and they also get some help from a very old ghost they both see and talk to from the Alamo who is in love with Rose.Logan and Kelsey grow into a relationship while they work on the case. Kelseys friend Sandy disappears . Lots of things are going on in town a documentary of the Alamo ,a rodeo . More people are called in for the team even though no one really says they are a team they all work the case to solve the crimes. The ending is wonderful and leaves us once again with recipes.

I was roped from the beginning I do believe some in not seeing ghosts but feeling passed on family members presence in my home. I love to get to the bottom of a mystery even if its who left the coffee spilled on the kitchen floor for me to clean up.

Unseen starts off as a mystery for the two main characters because they are on a interview for a job not even knowing what's going on . Once they find out of course they are in but don't really say Yes they'll take the job. Their Special abilities are never really mentioned at the meeting . During the investigation they are always professional enjoying each others company on and out of work. Logan and Kelsey seem to fall in love but its never said just assumed they care for each other.I really did enjoy the story and only figured out the one killer but not til the end the other surprised me . I really do enjoy the recipes at the end just love Heather Grahams idea of that . Yet who killed the drowned woman ? Must go back and read it again think I missed something.
