4.5 Hot Hockey Hunk Stars
I am a lover of hockey so when it comes to reading, my first choice will always be hockey romance. And I must say now that the playoffs are on, I was definitely in the mood for a good hockey hunk read and this one definitely didn't disappoint.
Chase and Jordyn both come from a world of fame. Chase is a NHL hockey player and Jordyn a up and coming pop star. But both have found themselves in a similar place. After having several fun flirt sessions on Twitter, Chase has made a bet with Jordyn and the prize, a date. From the moment these two meet, they have a connection but they live on different sides of the country with busy schedules how could they ever make it work.
I absolutely loved Chase, he was hot and sexy, and a bit cocky but he was so sweet and loveable. So many times I found myself totally swooning over him, you couldn't not love him. I really also enjoyed Jordyn's character and I absolutely loved the dynamic the author built between these two. It was fun and flirty and I loved the banter they had going on, on Twitter and in person.
I am a lover of pretty much any type of sports romance but my go to and absolute favourite will always be my hockey hunks. I have been reading this series right from the start and I must say out of them all, this has to be one of my favourites. This was such a great fun flirty read but at the same time it has a serious side to is for both characters but it wasn't too heavy that it took away from the lighter side of the book. I also loved that we got to see past characters but at the same time, you could very easily pick up this book having not read the others and not feel like you were missing parts
Overall this was a really fabulous and enjoyable read. Pretty much read it in 24 hours as I couldn't put it down, just fell absolutely in love with them and their story and didn't want it to end. Not sure if this is the end of the Aces series but hope it won't be the last of this author's hockey hunks, she sure knows how to write them!

I found the book interesting and engaging even If I thought the heroine was a piece of work and needed to grow up.. I wanted more hockey out of it and the family issues felt a little too much in my opinion

This book was ok. I was hoping for more of a storyline but it was more of a insta romance with shallow drama

I absolutely love the Aces Hockey series and Playin Hirt did not disappoint. Jordyn and Chase have a fun, laid back friendship that eventually grows into more. I love how quick they were to support each other, especially when the other doesn’t realize they needed it to begin with. Playing Hirt is a sweet romance with just the right amount of heat. What an enjoyable read.

This wasn’t my first book by Kelly, but it was my first in this series. I really enjoyed this book. I loved how Chase and Jordyn started out by flirting over Twitter. They both own up to mistakes and apologize, it isn’t all one sided. They are hot together and the supporting characters are good.

I love any romance book that has big bad hockey player and Kelly Jamieson does not disappoint. Loved this book would recommend to anyone

The social media flirtation between an Aces hockey player and a famous pop star becomes more when they agree to test their online attraction on a real date. Their chemistry was on fire, their banter was sharp, and the push and pull that evolves kept me engaged. Their drastically different career paths allow for a good bit of drama and their individual struggles and injuries allow for some roadblocks in their relationship that I found believable and refreshing. I really enjoyed the dynamic between Jordyn and Chase and I was pleasantly satisfied with their romance.

When your think things couldn’t get any worse that when life surprises you. Chase was desperately off his game and it was could be seen how he played. His fans were losing hope with him and his parents constantly wondered what he was doing wrong. He had tried to be perfect for so long that things were slowly falling apart. Only one person could truly understand everything he was going through. What started off with a twitter flirtation slowly turned into something more neither one was prepared for. Jordyn understood all too well what Chase was going through. Both of their careers seemed to be in turmoil as they tried to heal from the injuries that threatened their livelihood. Will he be able to fix his game in time or will he be traded once again?

Solid sports romance read! I am a sucker for a hockey romance, and Kelly Jamieson does not disappoint! I've read a few from her now and have enjoyed them all.
For Playing Hurt, we meet Chase and Jordyn. A hot hockey player and a pop star. I loved their meet-cute via Twitter. . .so silly and sweet. Their online trash talking was just so fun to read. It was great to see their relationship develop over time -- there was no "meet, eat, and wham - straight to sex." Both characters had genuine respect for the other.
While Chase's thickheaded stupidity took a little longer to overcome, Ms. Jamieson knows her hockey and knows many players would do the exact same thing. She has a great respect for the game and is well-versed in hockey. It makes her stories that much more enjoyable.
Looking forward to the next installment!

Chase is a professional hockey player with a celebrity crush. He is infatuated with Jordyn Banks, a popular singer. When she starts following him on Twitter, he is totally geeked enough to reach out to her. This eventually leads to them having a flirtatious tweet session which leads to a bet on hockey teams which leads to a date. Reading the story from both viewpoints during this little trade back and forth was really adorable.
Chase has lots of anxiety about picking the best date spot and activities. I loved reading about this from the man's perspective. And this was the part of the book where I fell in love with Chase - forget about Jordyn, pick me!
As the story progresses, both of them have issues that they manage to work through together. Along the way, there is a lot of steamy sex (who doesn't like that?) and learning that everyone, no matter how perfect, have issues. The two of them together are not only steamy (did I mention the sex?) but also really cute in their interaction with each other.
I really liked this story and would recommend it to others. It was a great read and I definitely look forward to other books in this series.

Playing Hurt is a sweet and sexy story about two people living life in the spotlight. They've reached high points in their careers but not everything is coming up roses. Both of them come with baggage and fears. Their issues mirror each other but Jordyn is able to cope with her challenges a lot more effectively than Chase - I think because of her network of support. Kelly Jamieson writes such believeable, relateable characters, Her books never fail to make me laugh out loud and cry.
I loved Jordyn and Chase - and I especially liked a few of the peaks in at other characters we've seen in past books. Loved this book.
I received an advance copy of this book free via net galley - but my opinions are entirely my own.

Sweet hot romance between Chase, a hockey player and his celebrity crush Jordyn. Chase follows Jordyn on Twitter and is happy when she starts following him. A friendship starts via Twitter that turns into a real relationship. Loved it!

It all started with a Twitter bet. Who would've thought that pop princess Jordyn Banks and Aces Hockey hottie Chase Hartman would actually connect from a Twitter exchange.
Chase has been struggling this season with scoring and the diversion of the flirting with Jordyn gives him something to focus on. Of course everything becomes real once they meet and he realizes she's more than a songbird and pretty face. They click and have fun in an easy we've known each other forever way. And Chase wants more than one night out.
Jordyn has a full life in LA, even though she's feeling more connected and relaxed with Chase she's not willing to take a chance. When fate throws her time she finds that maybe she crossed Chase off too quickly. Can two people playing hurt help each other to the find the happy ending neither thinks they can manage yet both deeply deserve?

Thank you NetGalley and the Publisher for granting my request for an ARC of this book. The review below is entirely my own opinion.
I am a fan of sports romances and I enjoyed reading this one.
I liked the personalities of the main characters. Although they each went through some difficulties, nothing was too angsty or heavy. I liked that their relationship grew over months and went through what felt like realistic issues. (I mean, I wouldn't really know as I'm not a pop star nor do I know any hockey pros but their concerns and problems were believable. Heehee.)
Overall, Jordyn and Chase have a very sweet story that will likely please fans of this series.

Another winner from Kelly Jamieson! Playing hurt really hits you in all the feels.
The main characters are easy to relate to and get invested in and it's also nice to revisit some of the characters from earlier books in the series!

I really like the Aces series. This one is pretty heavy and while really well written, this one quite the tear jerker.

This book was a fun, quick read. Jordyn and Chase were a good pairing, and the whole social media aspect of their flirting was clever. However, for some reason, I didn't feel that connected with Chase, But it was overall a fun, beach read with steamy love scenes! I enjoy Ms. Jamieson's other books and look forward to the next!

Another great book. I love Jordyn and Chase story. The Aces rock and Chase is a great team player, loyal and passionate. Jordyn is a talented musician a great team player 😉 and very kind and loving. They complement each other in life and in love. I received a ARC from Netgalley for a honest review.

Playing Hurt is my new favorite Kelly Jamieson book! I absolutely loved how Jordyn and Chase's interactions started over Twitter. Their flirting was cute and funny. I could imagine a real relationship starting between two celebrities exactly this way! It was so much fun! Once they actually meet in real life, the story gets even better. Chase and Jordyn really had to work to make their relationship work with the spotlight on them. It wasn't easy. I enjoyed how each had their own struggles and things to deal with. Their growth individually made their relationship stronger. I loved how it all played out. Playing Hurt was truly a delight to read.

I enjoyed reading this book. Playing Hurt is sweet and a fun read. It kept me engaged from the first page to the last. The two main characters, Chase and Jordyn are perfect for each other. I am pleased they overcame the obstacles that were in there way. Kelly Jemieson wrote a great story that has the perfect amount of humor, tension, and emotions that keeps you wanting more. I would recommend this book.
