The title alone was incentive enough for me to want to read this story, and it didn't disappoint. I love reading about the "below stairs" individuals who worked so hard to help the "above stairs" people maintain a life style that is beyond the scope of most of us. Fascinating, informative and heartbreaking, I enjoyed this book immensely.

Interesting book, but wasn't my favorite of the 'life in service' type. It was interesting with anecdotes, but was not a gripping page turner.

Such an interesting look into this time period as well as the upper class of the time. Some things expected, some surprises to learn. A overall fascinating read that gives a look into a bygone time.

My apologies; if I requested this book, it appears that due to family commitments I was not able to read it before the time limit on the epub expired. I'm sorry it has lingered this long.
