Delaney spins a taut web of lies and deception. Will trust be able to overcome is a running theme in the book;. The protagonist is confronted with that question throughout the book and onto the last page. Kept me reading into the night it was so edge of your seat exciting.

I will be honest; I didn’t read this book. The title intrigued me initially when I requested it years ago, but looking back at it, post COVID, it doesn’t interest me but I wish the author well

This book had a great premise, but just didn't' live up to it for me. I was only able to read a couple of chapters before giving up. It just wasn't my cup of tea.

Thank you for the opportunity to review - this had great promise and was tightly plotted. Would definitely consider seeking out more titles from this author.

The premise was good, but this one just didnt work for me the way I would have liked. I struggled just to finish it.

This book was interestingly told, uniquely developed and good, not great. I thought that going back and forth from making it seem like a script vs book was a really interesting choice. The beginning pulled me in, but the end required almost too much suspension of belief for it to be any higher than a 3 star read to me.

I enjoyed previous books by this author, but this one was not for me. It was fairly well written, but the content was so dark, I did not enjoy it. I give it three stars because I know some people enjoy the horror genre and might appreciate this book, but for me personally, I was repulsed by the unending descriptions of the worst of the worst of humanity committing unspeakable acts, mostly against women. I read a lot of true crime books, many about serial killers, so I am not squeamish, but this one was particularly hard to bear.

This was a great thriller. I couldn't put it down. I didn't see the end coming and I love that in books! Would definitely love to read more by this author

It's been a long time since I read this book, and I no longer remember specific details about the story. Given my 5 star rating on Goodreads upon finishing it, however, I think it's safe to say I must have loved this story!

I received an advance reading copy of this book courtesy of Quercus via Netgalley.

I loved the girl before but definitely wasnt as big of a fan of this one. Maybe it was just the one for me.

Believe Me was one of the first books I was ever approved for on NetGalley back in 2018 when I joined, so thanks to the publisher for that. Congrats to the author for writing a successful book. I wish I’d liked it more.

This was my first JP Delaney book and I know he’s popular but I’m not sure I’ll read another of his books.

It was somewhere close to the start of the story where I first guessed that JP Delaney was a man. I’ll call it the Riley Sager Effect. Men write women characters in a certain way that real women would just not act. Plus she was really annoying. The book overall was very disjointed and all over the place. I found the gimmick of writing scenes like it’s a play tedious to read,

Overall this book wasn’t for me.

I was not a huge fan of The Girl Before, but i thought this sounded interesting so I figured I would give this author another go. I think that Believe Me was an okay read. It didnt stand out to me and was a bit forgettable. However, it was a page turner and would be a could rainy day thriller.

This book drew me in from beginning to end. A great overall thriller in every way. A roller coaster ride for sure with the twists and turns around every corner.

I enjoyed this one quite a bit. Suspenseful plot, great twists, a lot of fun throughout. I enjoyed Delaney's previous novel "The Girl Before" but this was such an improvement on the last, exploring broader themes and more experimental writing.

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine, for an ebook copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

As always JP Delaney is the king of twists and turns. This story told by our unreliable narrator has you non-stop guessing right up to the end. Our MC is a want to be actress who failed in her home country of England and has moved to NYC to make it big. She struggles due to her past and must take small jobs for a lawyer group in which she uses her acting skills to set up husbands for soon to be ex-wives. When one of her clients ends up dead , she is a main suspect. Quickly her life spirals out of control and you are left deciding who done it? A sensual murder mystery that will keep you guessing.
A must for fans of psychological thrillers and fans of JP Delaney (aka Tony Strong)

Wow - this was a very good psychological thriller. There were lots of twists and turns, and I was guessing all the way to the end! Thank you for a good read.

I was so impressed by the author's first book that I couldn't wait for this one. A story filled with twists and turns and characters with many secrets that everything that happens keeps you guessing until the end. Bravo!

This is one of those thrillers in which you suspect everyone. You are on a path, you think you knew who did it and then bam the author has you going in a completely different direction. I love stories like that, they hold your interest and if done correctly, have you up to the wee hours of the morning trying to solve the mystery. You have your main character Claire who regularly makes stupid decisions and you want to reach into the book and slap her. Although she is not very likeable you still want to figure out what is going on. Going into this story blind is the best way. That's what I did and I was pleasantly surprised to really love this story.

Believe Me is a great psychological thriller that keeps you guessing as Claire plays her suspenseful working games. The plot theme is short on morality but high on excitement to the end. All in all an entertaining read.

I finished the book. It definitely wasn't my favorite by this author and at times I felt like I was reading out of sheer obligation. Parts of it surprised me though
