I have liked this author in the past and will definitely be reading her in the future, but this book didn't do it for me. I didn't find Mac to be very likable, and if I can't root for the hero then it's hard to like the story.

I was immediately attracted to the blanket and we saw Tess and a country house.

It all starts when Steve McKenzie wants to prove himself investigating a series of murders in the Washington district. He's going to investigate with Tess that he's known for twenty years. She wanted to remain anonymous except that someone plays with the anniversary of her father's death to perpetrate horrendous crimes. They will have little time to stop this.

An eighth volume filled with suspense and mystery with a captivating story a well-crafted scenario. My first book of this author because at the base I did not know that it was already the eighth of this series but an independent book but I would gladly read the others before.

A good addition to this series of books. Really good rounded characters and a fast-paced and exciting story. Looking forward to the next one.

As usual, Anderson lights the pages on fire with her trademark sensual, thrilling suspenses. I love the setup in COLD MALICE--it's not often stories are written about children who grow up in a cult.

Tension is a hallmark of this story, forcing the pace to stay at a break-neck speed and driving the main characters toward action. White supremacy is a very relevant topic in today's political climate, but when served with a reprehensible plot that's been brewing for twenty years, it’s more wicked than ever.

Tess Fallon represents the best elements of heroines to me: having overcome great adversity to lead a meaningful life, and in the face of being forced to reconnect (and trust) a man she knew twenty years before as a different person, she’s still brave and loyal. And though Mac had a job to do all those years ago, it’s hard to reconcile the demands he’s making on Tess.

The topic is troubling, and Anderson’s presentation of it perpetuates that notion, but it makes for great tension, and great suspense. She’s just a terrific storyteller … like they say about great singers who can “sing the phonebook,” I think Anderson could just “write the phonebook.”

This was like a dose of cold water thrown in your face, it was absolutely riveting, as thrillers go it had the right amount of everything to captivate in into its pages. It had everything going for it, from a white supremacy hate crime spree with a plot of revolution, to child marriage, incest, rape and lots more. A storyline filled with gripping sequences of events, and electrifying characters, making this book an exciting package.

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Toni Anderson always writes a good book. This one is great. Although it is one of a series, it can be read as a stand-alone. I really enjoyed the storyline

Toni Anderson always delivers. She is a master storyteller who creates characters the reader can connect with and a storyline that will leave them white knuckling their Kindle. No Insta love here either. The characters get to learn about one another and to develop a relationships that seem all the more truthful than formula romances. This is smart writing. Anderson gives her readers books that elicit real emotion and challenge the reader's intellect. Anyone can write a book but not everyone can tell a story. Huge fan. Can't wait for the next book.

Cold Malice is the perfect name for this heart pounding suspense romance by Toni Anderson. Could a USA extremists group, who are no more than murderers and home-grown terrorists, be making a comeback after a successful takedown years ago? This is at the core of this gripping book that sadly reads like it is straight out of today’s news. White supremacist thinkers who must be stopped before more acts are committed.

Overcoming a criminal and immoral family legacy, Tess Fallon is an admirable character as has worked to separate herself from all of that. So is Steve (Mac) McKenzie who is heading up a murder investigating task force. While Mac is ambitious and determined he is one of the good guys. The kind that makes you believe that killers will be caught and brought to justice. They have a connection because of his previous undercover work.

The plot is intricately woven with the past still affecting the present. It is a heart pounding read with the focus more on the danger, suspense and stopping the criminals than it is on the romance. In fact, I would have liked the romance conclusion to have taken more time. Otherwise it is a perfect suspenseful thriller romance.

This book can be read as s stand alone. I know if you haven’t read any of the previous books in the series, it can seem daunting to start on book 8, but honestly, this can be read as standalone. In this book, ASAC Steve (Mac) McKenzie leads a task force that includes characters from prior books, and on occasion prior cases they have worked on may have been mentioned, but at no time do I think you’ll feel slighted if you haven’t read the prior books in the series.

I thought this book was very suspenseful and action packed. I had a very hard time putting it down. Even if I had an idea of who the perpetrators were, I didn’t fully know who they were or the connections they had to the past. What is scariest to me though, is that there are really people like this in the world. It really makes you think.

While there are still two books in the series I haven’t read yet, I think this is my favorite so far.

Four stars

A little long and drawn out but good suspense.

I voluntarily read an advanced copy.

She survived the nightmare of growing up with hate and bigotry of her father, Now 20 years on the anniversary, someone carrying out evil crimes, and Tess wonders, is her baby brother involved. Mac from that time protected her, now with ASAC she thought long dead. Now the two working together, will the evil overpower them. A darker side, I don’t care for, but do like her books. They have good descriptive plot and flow easily to the end. All of her books can be read separately. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.

Another great addition to the Cold Justice series. Toni Anderson always delivers suspense, strong characters and a great plot. Always enjoy her books

Raised by domestic terrorists, 10-year-old Tess lived through the horror of the raid on her house and protected her baby brother. As an adult, Tess has changed her name and done her best to live a life that honors her adoptive mother and not her biological parents. To her horror, she sees on the news that someone seems to be carrying out her father's manifesto, and she is afraid it might be her little brother.

Toni Anderson wrote a taut thriller that makes one wonder how bigoted people get to be so full of hate, and question whether or not there should be more oversight of these hate groups. While it's fiction, the reader can easily imagine that this could happen in real life.

There are more than a few thoughts of "Mmmm, that wouldn't happen in real life." If it weren't for that, this would easily be a five-star book. Still, I loved the book and would read more in this series.

I have read everything by Toni Anderson and this book by far was the most addictive. I couldn't put it down once I started.

The write was exciting, fresh and the banter was perfectly paced not slowing down the story but coming naturally from the characters.

Toni Anderson as an ability to give the readers everything they need with such detail it will send chills down their backs. Each characters feels are express to the point readers will feel Tess pain and heartache. Readers will cry when she cries and celebrate when she celebrates. The story came to an abrupt end and I wasn't ready to say good bye to this story. I wanted and almost needed more of Mac and Tess and the white supremacist who were hiding away ready to strike!

This by far is one of the best in the Cold Justice series and if you have read any than you know that is a feat. The Cold Justice series only get better and better with each book.

Thank you to Netgalley and Toni Anderson for a chance to review this well written story that will keep readers on their toes dying for more.
