Murder Girl is a Mysterious, thrilling, suspenseful and Romantic read. You will be hooked from the beginning.
I would highly Recommend it to all readers.
I requested this several years ago and I don't think it's a book for me anymore. So I will not be reviewing at this time, but if I do read it, I will update this review. Thank you for the opportunity.
The books in this series need to be read in order. Murder Girl picks up where Murder Notes left off. Thankfully there is a little synopsis at the beginning of what happened in the first book because it has been a hot minute since I read book 1. There’s also a list of characters and their role in the story.
In the first book (turn away now if you haven’t read it), there are some murders and Lilah, a FBI agent working in L.A., returns home to the Hamptons. This book is the continuation of Lilah solving these murders. Lilah is still a bada$$ through this book. And of course, there’s Kane. I still have a book crush on him. I just wish my girl Lilah here would give him another chance.
We have the conclusion of the murders at the end… or do we? Lilah is called to more murders at the request of her former mentor in New York. And right after that phone call… the book ends.
We meet some new characters who I am sure will show up in future books.
The second book in the series but you can read this as a standalone novel. I havent read the first book but don't feel that I missed anything.
A great cast of characters and interesting plot line.
Great story and leaves room for another book in the series. Picks up where the first book left off. A few twists and a thrilling read overall.
What a fascinating book. I was impressed by the storyline and the characters were all well written and complex. Where there are complex storylines combined with intriguing characters the reader experience is magnified tremendously. To have a book that is well written as well as entertaining is a delight. Reading is about escaping your world and entering another one. The word building was phenomenal in this book. Here I forgot about my own life and was immersed in the world created by the author. I would recommend this book.
Captivating suspenseful and seductive.
This book was everything!
However, before you read Murder Girl you must read Murder Notes.
Book one for me was somewhat confusing but in Murder Girl the author tightened all the loose ends and even explained some things from book 1, helping me understand the story better.
That said this story unfolded beautifully!
The plot was exciting suspenseful and edgy. The writing was strong and easy to follow.
Lilah Love’s quest to discover the truth continues. She soon realizes that not only is she making discoveries about the murders but she’s discovering truths about herself and her family. She thinks she’s figured out the biggest mystery but she soon learns that behind every corner there’s a new clue as to “whodunnit.”
Everyone is a suspect and the old adage “keep your friends close but your enemies closer” takes a whole new meaning! Everyone isn’t what they seem and they lead double lives. When the stakes are so high who can you trust.
The biggest puzzle is who is Kane Mendez? Is he friend or foe! My heart hurt and what the suspicions are!
The new twists on this seductive murder mystery romance had me in the edge of my seat!
Secrets were revealed but more were posed.
The ending was jaw dropping kindle throwing moment!
I need more!!
WOW!!!! so many questions answered and Ms. Jones definitely kept me on the edge of my seat...this book had so many revelations that I wasn't quite sure I could keep my heart from beating outside my chest! The level suspense along with newly added twists and turns in this second book of this series had me losing a little sleep because I needed ALL the answers!!!
I loved the addition of new characters which of course had me trying to determine if they were the good guys or the bad guys.... I'm truly loving this entire series and I've got book three on my kindle ready to be read!!!
**I received this book from Montlake Romance via Netgalley for an honest review**
I will start off by saying I really appreciated the summary that Jones put together at the beginning of this story. I always felt like there were too many characters to remember so that was great.
While things didn’t start out with the bang I was expecting after the way book 1 ended, I still managed to speed through the first half like it was nothing. The action was sporadic though, mixed in with several flashbacks from book 1 here and there. I went into this thinking it was the finale, so I was relieved to discover it wasn’t after not much progress was made with this story.
Overall, I thought Murder Girl was good even if a lot felt like a filler to get us to the final (I assume) book. I would have loved more answers with this one but with the slowed down pace, it seemed like Jones wanted to save the big action for book 3. Things ended interestingly, and I have even more questions now.
I seldom read Lise Renee Jones, not by choice though...just never seem to get to her books as often as I would like to. But if you do, her books are an amazing read of suspense, intense passion and thrilling evil!
Murder Girl is no exception and you have to read this to enjoy the intense storyline.
Word of caution that Murder Girl is a continuation of Murder Notes (Book 1 in Lilah Love series). So read this first before going to Murder Girl.
Received an ARC from Montlake via NetGalley for an honest review.
This is the second book in the series, and is marketed as a romance genre series. Even though I haven't read thie first book in the series, I thoroughly enjoyed the book, and didn't really find it to be romantically inclined, more of an entertaining mystery!
The love interaction between Lilah and Kane reminded me a lot of the love relationship between Booth and Tempe of the Bones series, are they, or aren't they. That was fun! So I really hope to see some more of these two main characters in future!
Recommended.
Murder Girl by Lisa Renee Jones is a terrific read! I highly recommend this one to suspense lovers. 4 easy stars.
Great thrilling novel which kept me turning the pages, would highly recommend to others. Brilliant writing, plot and characters.
Murder Girl is a super sexy, suspenseful addition to the Lilah Love series with fast paced action with lots of twists and lots of chemistry! You won’t be able to put it down!

This author is exceptionally talented. I say that because this book gripped me right from page One. I loved to meet Lilah Love and her Kane again. I still remembered the first book and ist cliffhanger but the recapturing o the first few pages made me remember a lot of details I forgot. Also the character chart was useful, because I could reaccompany me with all of them.
The plot pics up where the last one ended and I was smack dab in the middle of the party again. And I don’t mean that kind of party, but a party full of blood, mistrust and murder where people stab each other in the back to save themselves and their agenda. The plot thickened and the ribbons became more and more twisted over, under and within each other. Sometimes I almost, almost lost the sight of the goal, but in the end, I got everything. And I was surprised, oh I didn’t expect that twist at all, but it was beautiful. It was very well developed and I really enjoyed reading this book.
The characters were well developed and I liked to find more edges and secrets and I admired Lilah more and more with each page. Her headstrong character and stubbornness made me want a friend like she is. Seriously. Everyone needs a Lilah Love in their lives, so what are you waiting for? Go read this book and meet her for yourself. You’ll see, what I mean.
Finally I can only say that I can’t wait to read more of Lilah and Kane and will impatiently wait for the third book in this series.
Loved this book!!! I started then had to take a break. I love the story line! I was hooked!!! I want more!! The characters are so good. Love the mystery, I want so much more of them!
You will not be disappointed, you need to read this book.
A suspenseful and enjoyable story that had me intrigued throughout the whole story. The storyline was instantly intriguing and interesting from the very first chapter. I must read for all readers,
I have chosen not to review this title. My apologies for the delay in responding to this and advising you of this, especially as it is likely obvious I have chosen not to review, I thought I had sent in all of my DNF titles.
As always, I appreciate the opportunity.

i loved it very well written, couldn't put it down had to know what was going to happen next. loved the characters . Fast paced. It was full of twists and turns, and intrigue. Lies. Secrets, and betrayals.
Murder Girl is the continuation of Murder Notes. It continues with the same storyline and characters. I’m still a bit overwhelmed with all the characters. Perhaps if they had really unique names it would have been easier to remember who was who but they all have fairly average names… so I keep getting confused on the people. Otherwise, the storyline is fantastic. I really like how intertwined everything and everyone is. I can’t see how anyone can guess the results of this duet… it’s that hard to decipher.
Again, the narrator Madeleine Maby is pleasant to listen too. She shows exactly how the lead character, Lilah, feels. You can tell with just her voice when she’s angry and when she’s feeling playful. I wouldn’t recommend listening to this story without earbuds… there is a bit of cussing… ok, there’s a lot of cussing! However, if feels natural!
