Wow! What a book! This started right where Murder Notes left off. Kane and Lilah are about to question someone who could give them the answers they need. The book is faced paced because there is so much that Lilah is piecing together. You become an FBI profiler as you read this, trying to figure out who’s who and who did what. Everyone Lilah has contact with is suspicious. Who can she trust? She once again proves to be a complete bada**. We do find out in this book who is behind all the murders and Lilah’s horrific night. But that’s just the beginning of finding them and getting justice. This is a phenomenal series. I absolutely can not wait for the next book to see what Lilah, Kane, and Murphy can accomplish together. Brilliant story Ms. Jones! Keep them coming. On a side note, I loved how Ms. Jones recapped Murder Notes before this book started. Very helpful.
Lilah Love is still working her case - trying to prove that Kane Mendez the criminal she still loves is not guilty of murder and keeping her family out of trouble. Murder Girl picks up where Murder Notes left off and the story is even more action packed than the first book.
I dont want to give anything away just know that the story is fast paced and so detailed - all of the things we have come to expect from Lisa Renee Jones and her fantastic stories. We do get to revisit all the characters we meet in book 1 and watch as Lilah tries to solve the murder in her own backyard. All the while trying to keep her feelings and Kane at bay even though that is not what she really wants. The end is great and the set up for the next book in the series is perfect.
If you love JD Robb then you will not be disappointed with Lilah Love and Murder Notes and Murder Girl. Ms Jones does a fantastic job setting up her characters and I cant wait to spend time with Lilah and Kane in the next book.
Murder Girl is Lilah Love's nickname and she has worked hard to achieve all she has in the profiling field. However, she chases a killer back to her hometown and is sucked back into the family drama. The highlight of being back home is Kane. I love reading Lisa Renee Jones books they keep you on your toes and keep you guessing. And her love scenes are just as mind blowing. This is book #2 in the Lilah Love Series and I enjoyed this book more than Book #1. So I can't wait for the next book in the series!
Murder Girl by Lisa Renee Jones is book Two in the Lilah Love series. This book is not a standalone book, so you do have to read the previous book 'Murder Notes' first to fully enjoy this book. Lilah is still on the pursuit of a killer and getting the answers she need. There is a underline romance for Lilah but for I felt is was more of a mystery/suspense story. This whole series so far are books that you can't put down and you just want more....which will lead us to book three in the series. Can't wait to see what happens next!
***I received an ebook copy from the author at no cost***
This book was everything I hoped it would be and more. The perfect second part to the Lilah Love series.
The story picks up right where book one left off, and I really enjoyed that Lisa Renee Jones gave readers a recap of all that had happened in Murder Notes. It brought me up to speed again after having read the first book a few months back.
In Murder Girl, Lilah remains embroiled in the case she returned to New York for. Only things get even more intense and suspenseful as the book unfolds. (This is going to be a very high level review, so I don’t spoil anything for those hoping to read this.) There’s so much going on in the book and it seems like Lilah is tied to all of it in one way or another. And she’s still harboring this huge secret, one that only Kane is privy to (well, and “Junior” too), which only complicates things more.
Speaking of Kane, he’s grown into this complex character who I personally love to hate. I loved him in book one but in this book, I had a bit of a tougher time with him. One minute I’d adore him and the next he’d do something that made me want to slap him upside the head. He continues to have Lilah’s best interests at heart, from what I can tell, but … I don’t know. Romance isn’t the central theme of this story though, so I’m not going to spend too much time analyzing that aspect.
Once again, everything is so darn well-written! Lisa has an incredible imagination and it comes to life within the pages of Murder Girl. Lilah will forever be one of my favorite female leads because she’s insanely courageous and strong and determined. She kicks butt, takes names, and doesn’t let anybody hold her down. That’s a big part of what makes this book so awesome.
I couldn’t put this book down once I got started with it. It’s filled with all kinds of action and suspense. Lilah is trying to figure out who “Junior” is, and the author had me pegging people left and right. In fact, I had an extremely difficult time knowing which characters I could and couldn’t trust as I was reading. There are all sorts of seedy people interspersed throughout the story, and that only kept me on the edge of my seat even more.
The whole time I was reading this book, and its predecessor, I felt like I was watching an episode of Law and Order. Lisa Renee Jones definitely nailed the crime and suspense aspects of the book. I liked that even though there were mentions of Lilah’s romance with Kane, that wasn’t a central focus for the story. Everything circles around the investigation and the different clues and evidence that Lilah uncovers.
This book doesn’t end on an insane cliffhanger like Murder Notes did, BUT there’s still one huge question that needs to get answered, so that has me crossing my fingers that we’ll be getting another book in this series.
If you like suspenseful stories, this book is the one for you. BUT, be warned, you absolutely have to read book 1, Murder Notes, before embarking on this journey. If you don’t, you’ll be completely lost on what’s going on.
Five stars to this novel!

Such a great second installment!!!
This book picks up right where book one ended. Even though it had been a while since I read the first book, I had no problem catching up with these characters. I was worried I wouldn’t remember all of the details because so much happens! I had no need to worry though because Lisa did an amazing job making sure I remembered what had happened.
I love Lilah Love! She is such a strong female character in both her work and personal lives. I wish there was more of Lilah and Kane. I love their push and pull relationship. They know each other so well and know exactly what buttons to hit when needed.
I love being surprised when I read and this book surprised me so many times! There were many twists and turns that constantly kept me guessing the whole way through.
I can’t wait to see more of this world Lilah runs! There are so many questions that I want answered. Don’t worry, there's not enough loose ends where you’ll feel unsatisfied at the end of this story but dang it I need more!
Murder Girl (Lilah Love #2) by Lisa Renee Jones
4 stars!!!
“Don’t fuck with the Love family.”
Murder Girl continues where Murder Notes left off and I was thankful for the re-cap from Lisa Renee Jones at the very beginning because I must admit, my memory was a little hazy. Much of my review of Murder Notes applies to this book and while we had some questions answered, a slew more were generated. But it is this that keeps those pages frantically turning, the suspense and intrigue continues, and more and more suspects come to the fore. To be honest, I don’t trust anyone in this book other than Lilah and Kane, everyone seems to have a questionable side, so you really don’t know who to trust…if anyone at all. With a plethora of possible candidates Lisa Renee Jones perfectly pulls you in, keeps your grey matter whirring at a mile a minute and has you frantically trying to read between the lines, but I just can’t call this one.
“You said Kane is everyone’s enemy but mine.”
“His enemies want to control him, but only you can. That makes you a very powerful person.”
Lilah Love is still an enigma, she still has a lot of baggage but her cold heart and ambivalence still makes her hard to warm up to, but she is growing on me. The more that is revealed helps you to further understand her and her mannerisms. Lilah is a total badass, she can more than handle herself and the way her mind works is fascinating. It takes a brave person to take her on and even braver to try and blackmail her with secrets she definitely doesn’t want uncovered.
“Drama follows you, Lilah Love.”
“No…dead bodies follow me…you should remember that.”
Kane is still an enigma and Lisa Renee Jones certainly keeps their sexual connection in the background in this book too, but I feel that maybe this is going to be expanded upon in the next one, at the moment these two are just concentrating on the task at hand. I was surprised by one of Kane’s actions considering the secret that these two are trying to keep under wraps but knowing Lilah…I can understand why. I am still intrigued as to Kane and Lilah’s back story as a couple, we still don’t have all the details and I must admit, but curiosity is still piqued.
“He’s a criminal. I’m an FBI agent. He buried a damn body without asking me. And yet I still fucking love him. And on a day like today, I know love cuts.”
The action in this book is what really keeps the pages turning and being a crime programme aficionado, this book was definitely right up my alley. A cross between Criminal Minds and CSI, this book has a touch of everything for us crime junkies and Lisa Renee Jones did an amazing job of keeping the suspense up, the reader captivated and that forever anticipation. While artistic license has definitely been flaunted, I didn’t care, it still made for exciting, engrossing reading and I cannot wait for the next book in this series, it seriously cannot come quick enough.

Murder Girl, the continuation of Lisa Renee Jones’ Lilah Love series is just as captivating and intense as Murder Notes because the closer Lilah gets to unraveling the killer’s mind and following the clues of the case, the more twisted and interconnected those involved become, making it almost impossible to identify the truths amidst the lies and the guilty amidst the innocent and forcing Lilah to take extreme steps to solve this case, even if it means fully embracing her dark impulses and giving into once dormant desires for a certain man she can’t seem to stay away from despite the risks and dangers that surround her life due to her career and where this particular case has led her.
I don’t want to give away any part of the plot because it is absolutely necessary to understand and experience every lead…every clue…every discovery as they occur in the story, making readers members of Lilah’s team, which not only keeps readers engaged, but it also provides them with a vested interest because as they hypothesize what the information means and what’s at stake the longer the case remains unsolved, a resolution becomes mandatory, not only in order to prevent the heinous crimes that continue to run rampant but also to protect Lilah from coming anymore undone than she already is at the hands of a madman as well as a past and a present that somehow intertwine.
Because this series is more of a suspense thriller than a romantic suspense, which is established quite well in Murder Notes, the focus of Murder Girl is on the case, its many sides, and the mental effect it has on Lilah Love. BUT, because Lilah’s ex, Kane Mendez, becomes a central figure in the story line, not only in Lilah’s everyday life but also in the case, the romantic aspect of the series becomes more prominent, which, in some ways, seemed a bit too predictable…maybe even unnecessary due to the forced change in focus, but I also understand why Lisa Renee Jones added those scenes into the story. Perhaps I’m too absorbed with and too involved in the ins and outs of the profiling case that I didn’t want to switch gears, but for those readers who have been waiting for Lilah and Kane to act on those feelings that are so clearly below the surface, they’ll be happy with the developments in book 2.
There’s still so much to figure out when Murder Girl ends and with the betrayals that have occurred and the lives that are still at risk, I can’t even begin to predict where Lisa Renee Jones will lead Lilah Love and all those involved with this case, which means that I will be anxiously waiting for the next book in the series!

Just when I thought I had it all figured out, Ms. Jones pulls a fast one that I didn't see coming. With everything that's going on in Lilah's life, it’s hard for her to sort the good guys from the bad. What she's coming to realize is that there are no clear lines and the best she can hope for is to align herself with the one person she can trust: Kane.
He's her rock and salvation even if she doesn't want to admit it. Kane's seemingly endless understanding of Lilah is wonderful – it gives her stability and strength that's been missing in her life since her mother's accidental death.
The writing and edge of your seat moments kept me up all night just to see what truths came to light and what questions are still lingering. I can't wait until the next chapter in Lilah's life.

M/F Thriller
Triggers: Murder, stalking
This book follows book one so I highly suggest that you read them in order. You need the back story in order for this one to make the most sense.
Lilah is still at it – she's trying to figure out what all of these murders have in common. So far, her only link is herself. There is truly nobody that she can trust and because of that, it makes her task of finding the killer that much more difficult.
Kane is Lilah's compass whether she wants it or not. They have been through a lot and despite their past, both are magnetic when it comes to each other. Kane has his work cut out for him and when the secrets start to reveal themselves, he will have to protect Lilah with even more resolve.
This is an edge of your seat thriller and I cannot wait for the third one. Jones keeps you on your toes and when you think you know what's going to happen, another curve is thrown in the story. Each character is well written and complex, their romance is part of the story but does not overpower it, and the mystery aspect is exactly what makes this book so successful, for me.

This is the second book in the series – and you absolutely HAVE to read Murder Notes first. I was so grateful that there was a wonderful primer at the beginning to remind those of us who have read a fair few books in between installments of all the twists and turns that made book one such a fabulous five-star read.
From page one we are catapulted right back into the crazy that is FBI Agent Lilah Love's life, and current case(s). She is such a fabulous character, and narrator of the story – I would love to be her... perhaps mostly because as well as kicking ass, she has one very hot Kane Mendez as a past (and present/future) love interest. Their interactions are fabulous, with the temperature set at maximum, and a wild mix of humour, passion, and ire. Sometimes the very description of what they are wearing is part of the seduction – even when it is black FBI garb, or a purple striped shirt.
The mystery continues to be intriguing too, and whilst some doors open, other twists come and turn your thoughts around again. I love the layers, the misdirections, and the fact that Love herself is so tied up in it all. Page turning reading at its best. Cannot wait to see where this goes next!
I literally kept guessing who is the good guy and who is the bad? When I thought I had everything straight, nope, not so much! I love when I don't figure it out too quick and I'm still going what??? at the end of the book. I got some answers to my questions but now I have more!!!
When she's trying to tell everyone what her profile on the killer is, no one is taking her seriously. She has to fight with everyone to try to get her point across.
I absolutely love mystery romance books and this one definitely fits that bill for me. I can't wait for the next book! I mean come on, who can't wait to see more of Lilah and Kane. (I have a thing for bad men who have a good heart!) When Kane and her are together they are combustible and can't wait to see more of them!!!
Murder Girl picks up where Murder Notes left off and Lilah is determined to find out the answers to both the murders and her past even if that means going against Kane. Since Kane knows that she is not going to stop investigating he is right by her side to protect her from the people who don’t want the secrets revealed.
As the deception that surround her are revealed one lie at a time she is left wondering who she can trust especially when it appears that the person left standing is Kane despite his dubious past.
This story is a suspenseful ride filled with twists that leave you wondering what could possibly be around the corner and whether they will capture their prey or become prey themselves?
I liked both these characters as Lilah is determined to find the truth despite the consequences while Kane is willing to do whatever is necessary to protect her. I have enjoyed this series and I am looking forward to the next installment. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Well damn, didn't see that one coming. I have to say if you haven't read the first book, why not? You can't read this book without reading the first one. I have to say I was really happy the author put a recap of the first book at the beginning of this book as it has been several months since I read the first one it was nice to get a refresher. So this book is a conclusion of the first but also knowing the series can continue. I really did enjoy these first 2 books and think Lilah is such a kick-ass person. I also think Kane and Lilah are made for each other sometimes that might not be a good thing but in the end it's what both needs. I look forward to seeing where this story goes after this.

Murder Girl
Murder Girl is the second book in the Lilah Love Series from Lisa Renee Jones. It’s a sexy, fast pace, and intriguing continuation of Murder Notes.
Lilah Love, a profiler for the FBI, is sent back home to New York to find a “serial killer”. The only problem, the only link is her. As a profiler she’s learned to trust no one. Except she trusts Kane. He is part of her being the link in the murders.
I truly loved reading this and want more. This series is not based around the romantic connections between Lilah and Kane even though that is part of the plot. Lilah’s profiling and intuition make her one if the strongest female characters I’ve read. It’s a nice change of pace to see a woman in this role while keeping the romantic part of the story just as a background. It’s there but not front and center. I have voluntarily read and reviewed Murder Girl. This is another must read from Lisa Renee Jones.

Another great book in this series!
This is definitely romantic suspense... I love getting involved in the whole crime solving process, and the sizzling chemistry between Lilah and Kane is fantastic!
Can't wait for the next book!
Murder Girl is the second book in the Lilah Love Series and this series is meant to be read in order. I appreciated the authors recap of book #1, Murder Notes, at the beginning of this book because you do forget a few things along the way but I don't suggest you use it as a cliff notes - you honestly need to read the first book.
FBI Special Agent Lilah Love is back home in the Hamptons, New York following up on a case that is connected to a case she was working on in California. To say Lilah isn't happy to be home would be an understatement but there is one silver lining, Kane. YUMMY! Kane's family is....how shall we say???? ummmm, not clean...yeah that's a good term for it since Lilah's family is supposed to be squeaky clean with them either being in law enforcement or politics. OK stop laughing, we all know there are dirty people every where but her family has always been against their being together but they are like the yin and yang, opposites attract and all that, but there is so much more to them. I really hope they get their HEA at the end of it all.
We are taken on a journey to unravel several murders and even a couple of murders that are staged to look like suicides....crazy!!! The only link they seem to have is Lilah and a very significant tattoo. I suggest you buckle your seat belt for this bump ride because nothing is as it seems and secrets are plentiful so you really don't know who you can trust. Happy Reading!
After immersing myself within the first novel of the Lilah Love series and couldn't wait to dive into this latest instalment. The narrative picks up where we left off in book one but not before the author does a quick recap on what has previously happened. It's important to read Murder Notes first before picking up this title because many relevant details need to be known before you continue with the story.
However, I struggled to get back into the swing of the narrative despite the summary. With many names to remember, it took time for the details to sink in. Somehow after a few chapters, I went from overwhelmed to absorbing everything. Once I reached this point, I was totally consumed within the narrative again as new information comes to light and dangerous conclusions are made.
Lilah and Kane are dancing around each other but I don't feel the pull between them is serious when it comes to romance...at least not at the moment. Yes, lustful sexual chemistry flows but it's more akin to a mutual mind game with no real conclusion in sight. Intellectual equals, in a world where Lilah is struggling to trust everyone around her, including her family. Kane, the man who shares her secret is the only one she trusts. Their relationship is intriguing none the less and I wonder where the author will take them as both are embroiled in life or death situations.
The author does an excellent job of keeping the plot exciting. Not knowing the good guys from the bad keeps the details enthralling. Mysteries, secrets and betrayals...unlikely connections and their implications keep the narrative addictive. It's fast-paced, engaging and a touch grisly as dead bodies appear at an alarming rate.
Overall, I can't wait to find out 'what happens next' in the life of Lilah Love. Unlike the previous book, there's no cliffhanger this time around...only plenty of expectations as she begins her new role surrounded by family, friends...or are they, enemies?

Murder Girl is book 2 in the Lilah Love series and Murder Girl picks up right after Murder Notes left off. Murder Girl is an intense, fast paced story that has so many twists and turns- that you do not know if you are coming or going. That is part of the charm to the story and the super intense romance and steamy sex is the added bonus. I do not want to give any spoilers away so this will make my review short but what I can say this story is chocked full of Betrayal, Lies. Sex, Heat Secrets, Darkness, and Raw Emotion. Some questions are answered but more questions come forth. The draw in this is Kane and Lilah. Their chemistry , their connection, their heat all strive to make for one fabulous read. Books 1 and 2 were phenomenal and went down in intense suspense, thrilling greatness. Now I am ready to read book 3.
My Rating: 4.8 stars *****
“I received an advanced copy of this book from the author at no cost to me."
Superb, Story! Lisa Renee Jones sure knows how to capture her readers attention, in this highly, addictive, highly, suspenseful, and highly, dramatic, thriller. The story is intense, filled with danger, betrayal, murder, secrets, as well as romantic intrigue. A thrilling, roller coaster ride, that keeps you on the edge of your seat, holding your breath, as this story unfolds. The writing is fantastic, the character development superb, grabbing the reader and not letting you go, until long after you are finished reading. Don’t miss this exceptional story. I just can’t get enough of Lisa Renee Jones works. Highly recommend this series.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Murder Girl picks up from where Murder Notes ended. Lisa Renee Jones' fearless heroine Lilah Love is determined to get to the bottom of the vicious murders following her. Everything is connected and no matter where the clues lead her she will fight for justice while keeping her own secrets in the dark.
It's reassuring that Lilah's character hasn't changed much from the first story. Lilah is an admirable character as she focuses on getting the job done despite her family's insistence on kowtowing to outside forces. Jones continues to weave a tangled web of danger and deceit. The further into the story we fall the wider the cast of suspicion. This is one of the biggest reasons why I love this series. I don't know what's coming next and there's always a surprising twist waiting in the wings. The organization making the plays has been exposed to Lilah and even her boss is pushing an unknown agenda that incredibly links to Lilah's past. There are so many layers in this plot and I love seeing them unfurl as the story moves forward! It does feel like there is a lot of running around before any good information is revealed, but I see it as a set up for the next book. There's definitely something big in the works and I can't wait to see Lilah in action again!

In this second installment to her Lilah Love Series, author Lisa Renee Jones has (once again) succeeded in spinning an intricate web of suspense and intrigue that I found myself helplessly caught up in. Unlike the first book in this series--which set a slower pace, enveloping me gradually--“Murder Girl” captured me right from the very start and held me hostage right up until the very end. And let’s not forget about the intense and searing chemistry between this tough, abrasive FBI profiler and her temptingly dangerous ex- boyfriend, Kane Mendez. Simply… Off. The. Charts!
Picking up right from where the last book left us hanging, Lilah continues on her quest for answers to questions that just keep on mounting. Despite her personal entanglement in a case that incessantly pulls her in deeper, no one—not her family and especially not Kane—will stand in Lilah’s way. With a gripping storyline packed with numerous twists & turns and an array of characters that warrant a suspicious eye, “Murder Girl” takes the reader on one helluva sexy, suspenseful ride!
But the ride isn’t over folks… Nope! Not by a long shot. So buckle up and hold on tight. Because as good as “Murder Girl” is, the next book promises to be even better!!
