So much mystery and suspense in this story will keep you riveted until the very end. Lilah's life may hang in the balance and every way she turns, there is something new, someone new to distrust and a seriously well-funded and dangerous group may be at the center of it all. You will NOT get all the answers you were hoping to get although you will get some. Plenty steamy, definitely full of intrigue.
Second in this series and I have mixed reviews on this book. I love the characters Lilah and Kane and definitely want to read more books with these two characters especially Lilah Love BUT first book Murder Notes was much better and suspenseful then Murder Girl . I was not as captivated with this story line still going on it really could of ended half way thru the book and been a great book but because it seemed to drag on I was glad when it was over. Sadly it was just OK but like I said I would love to read more Lilah Love books with a different more thrilling story line.
The author was new to me until I read Murder Notes, which I read in one sitting and then anxiously awaited Murder Girl, the follow-on. I was not disappointed when I finally got my claws into this one! Yet another book that I read in one sitting.
The author has built on the intrigue of the first instalment adding new twists and turns along the way using the same engaging style of writing.
Lilah Love, the protagonist is a strong, interesting character and I feel that we are gradually allowed to see more of who she really is and what has shaped her character. Although this is a 'romantic suspense' there is more suspense than romance, although the romantic aspect remains a key feature to the plot.
Lilah, with the help of her ex-lover, Kane, is racing to discover who wants her silenced - the same murky character or syndicate who is responsible for a series of mysterious deaths, some disguised as suicide. The more she uncovers the more she realises that she can truly only trust herself and Kane.
My only criticism of the first book was the end which was left on a frustrating cliff-hanger that felt as though the book had been split into two halves. This book, on the other hand, ends with many unanswered questions leaving me looking forward to the next instalment, yet feeling that the plot had been wrapped up nicely rather than 'chopped short'.
A great read and I am now anxiously awaiting book 3!
This suspense filled thriller continues in this second book in the Lilah Love series. I don't want to give anything away so I'll just say this, this book picks up right where book one left off. If you haven't read Murder Notes yet stop now. Go read it. Then come back and grab a copy of this one! As with the first book the story is fast paced, intense, and exciting as Lilah Loves continues to track whoever is responsible for the current string of murders that seem to have a personal connection with Lilah. This is a series you don't want to miss. I highly recommend it.
The second installment to the series did not disappoint. I feel like it has it all...mystery, intrigue, romance, angst. This story really pulls the reader in.
I will say this one didn't capture my attention like the first book did. I'm so glad Lisa added a character list and a shortened recap of book one in the beginning of book two. It seems to me she is doing that more often and I'm very glad of that. Thoughts on the story is that Lilah starts questioning those who she is working with. I loved how witty her character is. There's just so many layers in this story including the characters to see how this plays out. I have to note that I thought this was a duet, not sure what "launch duet" is and that there will be more book(s) coming in this series. Lets just say I was ready for all the answers in this book.
WOW. Couldn’t put this book down! The intensity. The drama. The romance. Great job!! Lisa’s books don’t disappoint!
I loved this second installment of Lilah Love! Murder Girl takes us again on the mystery of murders in Lilah's world.
I loved the chemistry between Lillah and Kane. Their dynamic and witty dialogue was phenomenal! They have that love/hate relationship that is unexpected yet so worth it!
I really enjoyed this story! I like that it was more about the mystery and intrigue with a splash of sexiness!
I swooned over Kane's protectiveness of Lilah. And I cheered on Lilah's independence and take no prisoners attitude! I so wish I was more like her!
All the secondary characters! They were all so vital to the story!
There are so many unanswered questions! I am waiting on tenterhooks to get the next book in this series! Well done Ms. Jones!
One of the advantages of reviewing books is early access to new titles. I had just finished Murder Notes (Lilah Love, #1) when Murder Girl became available and I was spared a long wait for rest of the story.
Not one character in these books is sympathetic with the possible exception of Lilah's dead mother. Lilah, Kane, her brother, father, the other agents, cops and attorneys all have questionable past, alliances and motives. The complexity and unknowns are what creates the tremendous amount of suspense that had me enthralled. Generally, I want to identify with the lead female. That I didn't with Lilah and still enjoyed the books is quite a credit to Jones' storytelling.
I really enjoyed getting the answers that were so long in coming. Murder Girl was every bit as gritty and suspenseful as book one and I enjoyed it every bit as much. I was left wondering what came next for the characters, especially Lilah and Kane.

Murder Girl picks up right after Murder Notes ends and you MUST read them in order. Thankfully for me, Jones included a recap of book 1 because I had straight up forgotten a lot! So, here are my thoughts on Murder Girl-don't read if you haven't read Murder Notes!
I liked Kane less. He drugs Lilah 'to protect her' when he knows her past and how violated being drugged would make her feel. I also began (like Lilah) to question her boss. He is just strange. Honestly though, the whole set up is strange! No one would let her work this case because she has so many conflicts of interest. If they catch the person, her work would never hold up in court! So, I had to stop myself from overthinking it.
There are no shortage of unlikable characters in the story. Lilah's ex best friend, her ex-boyfriends, her brother, her father, her father's 'campaign manager'....all of them are unpleasant. Of course, this makes me think that any of them could be responsible for what is happening! Any of them could be "Junior" and I think any of them were capable of murder. However, I don't think they would have left the Hamptons to murder someone in LA-that was what got Lilah involved in the first place. So as the reader, you are constantly guessing and trying to figure out what is a red herring and what is an actual clue.
By the end of Murder girl, you have answers to some questions but there is one big question left unanswered that will certainly compel the reader to continue the series! If you like police procedurals, the TV show Criminal Minds, or mystery/suspense books, Murder Girl will appeal to you on many levels. As I mentioned in book 1, the story isn't really a 'romance'. Lilah's relationships are not the center of the story and are only mentioned in how they relate to the case.
4 stars and this is intense, a web of tattoos which lead the journey to where it all is happening. Back to the Hampton's and our gal needs her ex to assist and also as an excuse for them to re connect again.
Murder Girl was a cracking read. That had me hooked from page one. As the plot continued to enthral and intrigue me. With so many twists. This really is a clever, intricate and gripping story. That I couldn't get enough off; and for me this along with Murder Notes is a must read. Especially for anyone who loves great romantic suspense.
A tense and thrilling instalment to the series. This is mostly a continuation of the first book Murder Notes and the characters and plot threads from that book continue to be developed here.
I really enjoyed it, though Lilah is a character that can be difficult to really warm to however I love Kane. He is the embodiment of the dark antihero which is one of my favourite character types.
Can't wait for the next in the series.
*Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher*
I have voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this title given to me via NetGalley. Murder Girl is the second book in the Lilah Love series and I loved getting to go back into this world. This book was just wonderful and I can’t wait to see what’s next from this author.
This is a great read for people who love a gritty read, filled with murder mystery and suspense with an angsty romance thrown in. You can’t help get drawn in and you long for Lilah to get the bad guy, for that reason I will be keeping an eye out for part 3.
Oh my! This series started with a bang and this book did not disappoint and kept up and exceeded my expectations. It started at the exact point where book one stopped and, I am pleased to say, with a perfect synopsis of book one at the beginning (which every book 2 should have) so we are up to date. Does this mean you do not have to read book 1? No! Book 1 was so good, it would be criminal to not read it. This book has Lilah Love questioning her decisions, her connections, her relationships both personal and professional, and all while hunting a serial killer. This is a quick paced and engaging read that will have you reading so fast to find out what happens next. I definitely recommend this one and love how this sets up for a long running series! Sign me up for more Agent Lilah Love! I see great reads in our future with her.

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher.
Have you ever had a time in your life where you felt like everything you knew was turned upside down? The truths you thought were true weren't. Lilah Love has some harsh realities revealed to her in this edition of the Lilah Love series.
I devoured this book. Gosh she makes one heck of a profiler. I'd love to sit in a room with her and just walk through the cases. Help her put them together piece by piece like a puzzle. Because really that's what profiling is. Putting the puzzle pieces together. Some people are just able to do it faster than a detective.
In this particular book Lilah is forced to admit to herself she's a target of their serial killer. Why? This is what she has to piece together. It just keeps getting bigger and bigger - or deeper and deeper depending on how you look at it.
If you love suspense novels - this one will keep you enraptured til the end. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series. There's still more answers to answer. More clues to find. More connections to make.
Just remember - what you thought you knew no longer applies!
The murder mystery that Lilah is investigating continues in this book ... so if you haven't read Murder Notes, then go back and read it because if definitely continues. Lilah, with Kane's help, sets out to solve the murders ... no assassinations, because they both know that these are not murders or suicides.
This book, just like book 1, is a page turner because there are so many twists and turns that you really have to concentrate to keep everything straight ... and what a plot it is. I really can't say much more without wrecking it for others, but this is definitely a series that you don't want to miss. Ms. Jones doesn't state that there is another book ... but there has to be, because so many things were left in the air.
I received an ARC courtesy of Montlake Romance through NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.
Whoa Dang! I want more Lilah Love!! We finally have answers! But not all of the answers, in fact, we leave Murder Girl with a few more unanswered questions than we started with, but the anticipation for those answers is so sweet!
Murder Girl picks up right where we left of from Murder Notes, and if you read it, you know that was quite the doozy! The plot twists and trying to figure out who the good guys actually are is intense to say the least. There are several characters that if they are later revealed as bad guys I will be DEVASTATED!
Kane, Lilah's ex and possibly the head of a cartel, depending on who you talk to is one intense man who had is BAD for Lilah. He would quite possibly do anything for her. Speaking of Lilah, I have to admit. She can really work my nerves from time to time. She tries to act hard and jaded, but really she isn't as hard as she would like to be and it shows occasionally.
There are multiple people that we are left to assume things about and I question rather my assumptions about them are even close to accurate. The ending of Murder Girl blew my mind and I can't wait to learn more about everything going on in and around Lilah Love's life.
This review has been soo choppy and I'm sorry, but it's almost impossible to tell you about this book without spoilers. Just know that you are in for a wild ride filled with desperation to find a killer, you will laugh, you will want to be sick at times and you still aren't sure who exactly you can trust.
Murder Girl is the perfect read for anyone who is seeking love and murder, it's romantic suspense GOLD.
I want to be Lilah Love when I grow up. She tells it boldly without care and loves the F word. She's strong and brave and lives in a male dominant job. Kane gives her the strength her family should but are too far up somebody else's butt instead. The book leads off from the end of Murder Notes, a must read before this, but Lilah's world could go on forever. As long as there is a case she's got me as a reader. I was thrilled to get an early copy through Netgalley, my review provided voluntarily.
