Murder Girl is a high, adrenaline rush of a suspense novel. Continuing where book one left off, FBI agent Lilah Love is trying to catch an assassin that only she ties to the murders she is investigating. As the bodies keep falling, a stalker keeps leaving Lilah threats and everything seems tied to a bigger conspiracy. The only person Lilah can trust is the rumored head of a drug cartel and her ex. Kane Mendez knows where the bodies are buried, literally. When Lilah murdered her rapist, Kane buried the body and now the threats seem to be centered around the secrets that will always unite Lilah and Kane. Everyone, friend and family alike, appear dirty as Lilah and Kane race to take down a killer before he disappears. This book catches the reader and takes you on a nerve racking thrill ride full of twisty secrets and totally addicting. The main characters will stay with the reader long after the story ends, Kane is a super sexy combo of bad boy and the perfect protector. Lilah is tough and uncompromising with the perfect amount of bad attitude and snark who is more comfortable with the dead than the living. The couple share a unique dynamic of love, protection, and compromise. This book gives a ending to the current case while setting up far reaching scenarios that will tie and lead to multiple places. This book is a fantastic read that will leave you wanting more. My voluntary, unbiased review is based upon a review copy from Netgalley.

I loved this book. I am excited for future books because there were something’s that were left undone. The pace of the book was excellent and the characters are still building if anything becoming intriguing than the first book. You will never want to put this book down.

First and foremost, it’s important to know that this is a continuation of the first book Murder Notes, so readers should really start at the beginning. Ms Jones does give a brief recap of the first book, but to fully appreciate Murder Girl, you should start with Murder Notes.

As with book one, I really enjoyed the plot outline, character development and mystery and suspense that play a major part in this thrilling series. Lilah is an electrifying character and makes no apologises for her methods of finding the truth or the people she alienates along the way. I’m excited to find out where this story will take us next.

Holy freaking crap! I can't believe I made it to the end of this book without a friggen heart attack! Murder Girl is full of suspense, mystery, drama, intrigue, hot and steamy sex, and leads you down so many different twists and turns that when you think you have a handle on everything, things go in another direction. I loved Murder Notes, and I am obsessed with Murder Girl! I read this so fast I was done with it in no time, sleep wasn't an option, that's how good this book is. Kane is just plain and simple off the charts hot and sexy. Lilah's father is an ass, and her brother is somewhere in the middle. Just because one door closes, doesn't mean another one opens, and there's definitely another story there with Lucas, Murphy and Rich, can't wait to see how all of that turns out. All of the characters in this book gives this such a deep, suspense laced story that you just can't put it down. Lisa Renee Jones has out did herself with this series, and I'm soooooo looking forward to the next installment! This series has definitely earned a spot on my paperback bookshelf.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book.

I don't know where to begin other than to say.. wow. This is a. Intense read. Keeps you on your toes kind of read.

Lisa you have done it again. Lilac and Kane are a great push and pull relationship. They lend a.ot to the story. Their dynamic personalities fit together so well.

I do not want to give too many plot details as there are too many ways to spoil the fun for everyone.

Just know, what you think you know, you don't. Wow, you sure don't. This is what makes Lisa the great storyteller she is.

Amazing!

Lilah is such a wonderfully complex character. She is extremely believable and just jumps off the page. The story flowed really well and I could not stop. I had to keep on reading!

This is going to be kind of a short review as I don't want to give anything away, and basically everything I said about book one applies to this book as well. It was a fantastic book. Well written. Fast paced. It was teeming with twists and turns, and intrigue. Lies. Secrets, and betrayals. Thankfully, we are given some answers to the questions we were left with in book one, but some remain. On top of that, we are left with a whole slew of new ones. Again like book one, we have a full cast of characters that make up this book. Each one intriguing. Each one mysterious. Each one potentially hiding secrets.

Last, that brings me to the one thing I did not care for...the relationship between Lilah and Kane. I love both characters, and I love when they work together, but as a romantic pairing...well...they were a bit of a snoozefest. Their relationship progress felt stagnant to me. I honestly don't know how to explain it better than that. I almost wish the author had done away with the romance angle completely (maybe just had Kane and Lilah be good friends that end up working together) as there are so many other things going on that the "romance" takes a huge backseat. Anyway, that was just a small issue in the grand scheme of things and all in all I adored this one and can't wait to see what happens in the next installment.

*3.5 BLUSHES**

You MUST READ Book #1 “Murder Notes” before proceeding.

Lilah Love may sound like a porn star name but she’s actually a top notch FBI profiler and a total badass. She drinks the hard stuff, eats mostly junk and is not one to fall for flowery romantic words. She looks the opposite of what she represents which leads the bad guys to underestimate her and her drive to bring them down.

Kane Mendez (Lilah’s ex who she can’t seem to quit) is head of the Mendez family business. He buried the assassin rapist after Lilah killed him. He will continue to bury anyone who threatens her – whether she likes it or not. He’s powerful, dangerous and completely irresistible.

Murder Girl is the much anticipated Book #2 in the Lilah Love series. The author gives a recap right in the very beginning to refresh our memory. It picks up exactly where Murder Notes left off. We find Lilah and Kane in his garage with an old man tied to a chair. Same old man who gave Lilah that clue. He also happens to be, much to Lilah’s surprise, THE head of the Romano cartel. Deep in the throes of this murder investigation where the bodies keep piling up Lilah is running out of people to trust.

Lilah is still haunted by the “suicide” of Laney Suthers and is convinced that these murders all lead back to her.

Kane secures a meeting with the assassin known as Ghost. He lays some truths on her that hurt because her loved ones are neck deep in the stew. The group orchestrating all this is known as “The Organization”. Really? So the Illuminati is out to get Lilah? Ok – back to Ghost – he’s not just being nice, he’s pissed off that another hitman (the Gamer) is imitating him. He then gives her the scoop on whose next on the list which sends Lilah and Kane on a breakneck chase to stop the Gamer and save a life.

In Book #1 I was very yes! I get that! I was not feeling that way this time. Lilah’s conclusions left me confused. We know that Book #3 is coming but we are left with a hint that this might turn into a long running series. Or it seemed that way to me. Lilah’s taboo relationship with Kane is very JLo/George Clooney from the movie Out of Sight. However, Kane has not been completely forthcoming about all he knows. What about Junior? Is he dead? How much dirt sticks to those closest to Lilah, we’ll have to wait and see.

Lisa Renee Jones is a very good writer and her books are usually page turners for me. I was all in after Murder Notes but Murder Girl felt a little all over the place for me. Having said that - Lilah is a compelling character and she is why I will come back

MURDER GIRL is the second book in the Lilah Love series. They must be read in the order of release as this is a continuing story. In fact, it picks up exactly where MURDER NOTES left off.

I don’t know if I actually like Lilah. We probably wouldn’t be friends in real life. On the other hand, as an FBI agent, and a woman, she has to be tough, smart, and versatile. She is and I respect the *strawberry pie* out of her for it. I may not like her, but I love Lilah.

I loved the twists and turns of this story. Just trying to keep up is what makes it fun to read a Suspense Romance from LRJ. Plus, there is the romance. When Lilah can’t be sure of who to trust, even family, she knows she can trust Kane. Kane, the one man anyone else would say she shouldn’t trust! He is a help mate and her soul mate. It is there in every word and action. Sigh – that is romance.

I am looking forward to reading many more episodes in this series. LRJ never disappoints in bringing romance and suspense that set the bar higher for every other author out there.

Note: while I was given this book as a gifted ARC, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

Lilah Love, our Murder Girl, is back and she's on the hunt for answers. Unwilling to accept everyone's solution of a fall guy Lilah is looking for the true murderer, whether that person is an assassin or a serial killer or something else entirely. Sure, she has killer instinct, but a stalker, her family, and her ex-boyfriend make focusing difficult. As the clues continue to tie together, and tie to her, she finds that everything going on in the Hamptons is a little more personal than she first thought it to be.

"A bad drug still feels good when you're doing it."

I am so excited that Lisa Renee Jones came up with the Lilah Love series. I thought book one was good, but Murder Girl is even better. I definitely only predicted some of the things that happened and those that I didn't predict shocked me. I mean come on, serial killers, assassins, odd tattoos, and several dead bodies? It pretty much is a guaranteed great read for me. Lilah is as witty as she was in the first book, only this time it was sort of nice to see her have to give in a bit and reveal she isn't entirely the closed off girl we think she is. That said, she is an excellent FBI agent and I really liked the interactions she had with other FBI and members of law enforcement. She also is smart and sassy, which makes her a great heroine to face a pretty charming and very handsome ex. Of course, I mean Kane. We met him in Murder Notes, but we get to know him a bit further in Murder Girl. I'd go as far as saying I'd even like a book or chapters from his perspective, you know his back story and the time apart from Lilah has to be interesting. On top of these two and their sort of odd relationship, there's the continuation of the story from the first novel. The bodies, the crimes, and all signs point to corruption and assassinations, but how Lilah Love starting tying it all together is so interesting. She sees things in tiny conversations that I'd never think of and she definitely knows how to look for the right thing. I can't give away the story, but let's just say she's darn good at her job, even when it gets personal.

I'll admit, it took me a minute to get back into Murder Girl, the book takes a bit longer than the first novel to get to the excitement, but once it did I was hooked again. We discover that nothing in the Hamptons is what it seems and Lilah's circle of trust just keeps shrinking. It's almost stressful to read from her perspective, I'm positive I wouldn't be as level headed as she was in discovering that nobody is as honest as they present themselves to be. While it is a continuation from the previous novel and it ends with nearly all of our questions from the first novel answered, it also sets us up for a future novel, leaving us with, yes, more questions. That said, I'm even more excited for whatever could come next for Lilah Love. The ending was perfect, like probably the best ending of a novel from LRJ, because it's just the right amount of intrigue to keep me wanting more, but it also isn't a true cliffhanger and I'm pretty darn thankful for that.

Murder Girl is a stunning second novel in the Lilah Love series and though I always swear I am not going to start another new series I certainly cannot deny that I will be reading every single Lilah Love book that Lisa Renee Jones releases. If you like your heroines sassy, the smut hot as heck, and the action constant, plus a bit bloody, this is the series for you.

Murder Girl (Lilah Love #2) by Lisa Renee Jones is the continuing story of Agent Lilah Love and picks up where book 1, Murder Notes left off. This author is amazing at writing romantic suspense. She will keep you on the edge of your seat. I loved this book and this series so much. I can’t wait for the next one!!

"Your world is my world." - Kane

I loved Murder Notes, so when I received a copy of Murder Girl I was torn between wanting to devour it and wanting to savor it! So I did what any reasonable reader would do- I devoured it first and then went right back to re-read it and absorb every little nuance.

We pick up exactly where the first book left off. Lilah is trying to decide between allowing Kane to push her aside for her own good and pushing back at him in an effort to finally get some answers. But since Kane is Kane, he does what he has to do to protect her- from everyone including herself- despite the fact he knows she is going to be seriously pissed off with him after the fact. Or maybe he does it because he knows how she will react since their push and pull is one of things he enjoys most about their dynamic.

Lilah feels like she is being spun in circles, and everywhere she turns she only finds deceit and lies. Every time she thinks she is onto something, she finds herself with more questions than answers, and both her brother and father seem to be deeply tangled up in whatever is happening. She starts to question everyone and everything around her including her boss, Director Murphy, and her FBI co-worker and west coast fling Rich who Murphy assigns to work with her. I almost felt bad for Rich because he is so certain that he is better for Lilah than Kane, but really he has no idea what he is up against.

“You see what I wish I was, Rich. He sees who I am. I will never live up to your expectations, but I wanted to. I tried. But I will always live up to his expectations, when I wish I wouldn’t. But I’m me. I can’t be something I’m not.”

She feels as though she can't trust anyone, and although she doesn't want to admit it to herself, that isn't entirely accurate: the only person she can and does trust is Kane.

Although Murder Girl is heavier on suspense than romance, Lilah and Kane still have some sizzling moments together. Their shared secret may be a common bond between them, but it is scary to her how well they get each other on every level. He is a criminal in the eyes of most, including Lilah at times, but she understands the code he lives by too. Her badge is keeping them apart for now- the question is, how long will that be the case, either by her choice or by the truth of her past being revealed? Does Murphy already know her secret, and if so, what is his endgame now?

Murder Girl is just as fast paced as Murder Notes, and more twists, turns and mind-bending moments ensue! We do get some pretty big reveals in this second installment. Lilah appears to be the common denominator connecting all of the cases, and it is clear someone is taunting her while possibly plotting trying to kill her again. Are they really after Lilah herself, or are they using her to go after Kane? Is the person leaving notes alluding to her past connected to the current murders or a separate threat they need to address? Murphy throws her a heckuva curve ball in the final chapters, and Lilah is left to contemplate how to live her immediate future on her own terms. I cannot wait to see how this all shakes out!

Just when you think that Lilah Love cannot get more kick ass, she takes her badassery to a whole new level in Muder Girl.

I really love this book. I can’t wait to see what’s next for Lilah Love. Lisa Renee Jones has a way with writing suspense and mystery that just keeps me on the edge of my seat. I love the twist and turns and no one is ever who you think they are. I got sucked into this series from the start, and I’m so happy I did. She is one of my go to authors, I don’t even have to know what the book is about, I just know is Lisa Renee Jones wrote it, I am going to love it. I received a copy of this book from Net Galley.

This book is full of twists that will keep you on edge and awake all night. Lilah Love is one of the best new female characters out there. The relationships she has are complex. Her flaws are out there in the open. The dynamic between Lilah and Kade is suspenseful and steamy. The mysteries that carryover from story to story remain intriguing. I cannot wait to see where this series goes next,

Honestly, I don’t even know where to start with this review. Lilah was literally all over the map in this one. She was fierce, she was determined, and absolutely no one, friend or foe or family alike was going to stand in her way. While her attitude rubbed me the wrong way pretty much from beginning to end, I absolutely respected the crap out of her. LRJ created one heck of a heroine with this woman and you really don’t have to like her in order to admire how she gets the job done.

A killer is still on the loose, secrets abound, and the only person that Lilah knows she can truly trust is Kane Mendez. And rightly so because while he’ll turn on anyone else, he’ll always have her best interests in mind. If only she could accept that he deserves not only her trust, but her heart. Especially when he’s there for her during all of the turmoil that has arisen during this case. As they get closer to the killer, the facts turn into doubts and Lilah is stuck trying to make sense of it all, with Kane by her side. Despite the fact that most of the evidence she collected would be inadmissible in court in real life, it was a heck of a lot of fun watching her do it. I’m really looking forward to her and Kane kicking some secret society buttocks!

Murder Girl was even better than the first book in the series. Trying to figure out who Lilah could trust was impossible, and the suspense kept me completely at the edge of my seat! I am already ready for more.

Sometimes I have to wonder about the type books I gravitate to. I love the twisted minds and the amazing ability a writer has to have to create these twisted paths and intersected stories.

Not many writers have that ability. I’ve read many books in this genre - romantic suspense, thriller, crime fiction, cop fiction; and there several authors that stand out as doing well. There are also authors that I don’t read anymore because they don’t do it well.

Trust me when I tell you that Lisa Renée Jones is an author that does it extremely well. She always has the perfect balance of intrigue, darkness, edginess, raw emotion, sex and heat, and so much more wrapped into her stories. She writes in a way that makes you feel addicted to the book... like a craving you just have to have.

I started reading her books from the romance side and now I read her books because of the intrigue and the suspense. The romance and sex is the cherry on top. Pun intended. And trust me, Kane is definitely a cherry on top.

Murder Girl is an intense, fast paced book that will twist you around in so many different ways that you feel like you cannot keep track of what’s going on. And I like that. I like being surprised in a story. That’s exactly why I read books by Lisa Renée Jones.

Huge impact in this one. Make sure to grab it and part one, Murder Notes. You simply have to read it first! Now bring on part 3!

Holy Crap! Just like Murder Notes, I couldn’t put this book down either. I literally sat here all day to finish the book. I needed to know what was going to happen. I was so engrossed with this book today. I love Lilah’s attitude and her bravery. Then add Kane to the mix and it is just intense! Put the two together and it’s just hot! But once again the book ended with, what?? Where’s the rest? Your so good at this, Lisa. Leave us hanging, I see how you are! Lol! If you want to stay on your toes and get involved in the investigation again, definitely this is the book for you! I really am enjoying this series!!!
