I liked the book, the characters were … somewhat … likeable and held so much potential for growth and they didn't disappoint. I feel like each character had a moment of great evaluation and self growth.

The vibe of teenage drama is there but among a slightly older group. It's like Mean Girls meets Gossip Girl and they all go to college and become frenemies. I like the mashup as I'm a fan of both.

It was a quick read and ended how I expected.

Yikes.

I don't even know where to start. I guess with the whole idea of the 'Fling Club'? The main character and her "friends" started this club when they were 15 and they're STILL into it 6 years later?! The rules are completely ridiculous...I mean, the entire idea of it is ridiculous, and yet, they all abide by the rules and their richy-rich parents are all super supportive of it? What.

It's just all so juvenile that I couldn't take any aspect of the story seriously. The characters are wack, their attitudes suck, and they're just not nice people. Hard pass.

Forget about the nouveau riche billionaires you read about in romance novels. Welcome to old money and trust fund kids. These kids are legacies, so they have guaranteed slots in Ivy League schools. Their playground for the summer is the Hamptons and Fling Club is the name of the game.

These young adults might not even be 21 yet but the learn the art of the deal early. And that was what Ashley Jardine, MIT scholar and robotics prodigy found himself faced with. A deal that was too good to pass up. It was supposed no strings. Do the job and get paid $20,000 with all expenses paid.

What Ashley did not count on was that he will fall in love. And he was the one who wanted the strings. Except that he was dealing with the super-rich, and to them breaking hearts is part and parcel of the course.

This is a young adult novel, so its slow build. You almost know what was going to happen. But, author Tara Brown throws a monkey wrench and you find yourself wondering what will happen next.

It’s a comedy-drama. You root for Ashley. You also root for Cherry. Then you ask yourself, are all their plotting worth it in the grand scheme of things? Fling Club is a romance, but it is also a coming-of-age story. You’ll be surprise who grows up.

Fling Club is Rated T for Teens. There are a few sex scenes, but they are mostly implied. Parental guidance is strongly advised due to some adult themes.

I don't think I'm the audience for this book ... it was definitely a YA romance but I could not get past some of the big flaws that I found while reading. The entire fling club concept was insulting and I can't believe smart girls would go along with this and ever think it was ok. Maybe I'm just jaded but I found it to be ridiculous. The hero and heroine were fine but I think the only character that I actually really enjoyed was Ella (Cherry's sister) and she was very much a side character. There was a lot of repetition in the narrative which didn't work for me. But, what concerned me the most, was the slut shaming that was repetitively brought up over and over. I don't think it's a good message - particularly for a romance that is geared towards teens. All in all, this novel did not work for me. But, the reviews on this one say something very different as many readers didn't feel similarly to me. So, if the premise sounds good to you, I'd recommend that you give it a shot. Perhaps my own issues and perspective didn't make for a good match with this one.

I have mix feelings about this novel. Set in the Hamptons, it's a twisted plot where rich girls spend their summers in the Fling Club. A club where the girls rule! The founder expects everyone to abide by her rules. Breaking the rules would alleniate the members from the elite community. That is until the truth finally comes out and revenge is heavily on the menu for this Sumner.

Cherry is one of the elites who attends a good school and couldn't be happier, now that she has met her "perfect" guy. He apparently ticks all her boxes until she catches him with his pants down. Literally!

Ashley is a nerdy MIT student on a scholarship which doesn't fully cover his final year. His father's health is putting pressure on his school funds. He is conscientious and willing to work for the summer to help his parents and fund his own studies. The job that tempts him isn't what he expected. At all!

Cherry is out to the get revenge on her cheating ex. Her brother, Andy and sister Ella are only too willing to give a helping hand. They are looking for someone they can groom to tempt the one who slept with her boyfriend. Ashley applies for the job and succeeds in being accepted. How hard can it be? Getting a taste of life amongst the rich can't be that bad!

They come up with a fairly straightforward plan and in the process of getting acquainted, Ashley finds that there is more to Cherry than being a spoilt rich girl. She starts to see through her rose coloured glasses and realises that she leads a superficial life. She goes along with the crowd to fit in! Her best friend Cait has been manipulating her for the past six years and she now realises how deep the betrayal goes.

This story is all about image and conforming to the life of the elites. Happiness doesn't matter. So called friends betray each other, but they are all victims of someone's vile revenge plot which goes much too far. Bitterness and hatred are at the forefront. When Cherry realises what's really been going on, she is devastated and more intent on seeing through her own revenge plan. The thing is that it backfires and she ends up with a heartbreak. Can she get her revenge and reclaim her happiness at the same time?

Ashley proves to be a worthy main character in all the positive ways until he falls prey to the evil witch. Even then, he does the right thing at his own expense. Cherry is a new person and now knows what true love means. She plays the part of the victim well until enough is enough. This novel is a little lengthy in places. The romance is fairly convincing. The message behind this story is a valuable one. Hate and revenge can be self destructive.

I was kindly issued with an eARC and the views expressed are my personal opinion.

This book has a Mean Girls/Gossip Girl vibe going on, the elite rich people vs the normal people who try and get along. But then revenge sometimes leads to romance. A fast paced read but i just felt it was lacking something it felt like the show and movie i mentioned but with a bit more depth than they had. I would say give it a go if you are fan of Tara's as i am, but if you are new to her, then try another of her series first i think you will be more satisfied and get a better feel of her work then

I have read a few books by Tara Brown and really enjoyed them, so I couldn't wait to read Fling Club.
I have to admit that it took me a while to get in to this book, but once I did I couldn't put it down.
Cherry and Ashley had a wonderfully different start to their relationship. Then add in the whole Fling Club and its participants, and this had me turning page after page because I just had to know what happened next.
Can't wait to read more in this new series.

I received a copy of this story from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Honestly, I requested this on NetGalley because of the cover. And it was a fine read. Nothing spectacular, nothing mind-blowing, but okay. I needed a palate-cleanser and this absolutely delivered there.

The whole premise was over the top and a bit skeezy. If I could do it over, I probably would not have read this book. The only character I connected to was Ella and she had pretty minor screen time. I also think this may have been a case where it was written with a slightly younger audience in mind and the age difference was enough to make it weird for me.

I wouldn't steer someone away if they like fluffy romance novels but I doubt I'd recommend it, either.

I wanted more from this. I don't know quite what I wanted from it. this was good, but I ended the book and still felt like something was missing. Maybe that's just me, but I wanted something more in it. Overall a good book though.

Omg so much drama! I loved it!
Fling club is a summer-based light YA, the characters are likeable and the plot nice.

Just what I would recommend as a summer read!

This book is packed with drama, and it stars in the opening pages.

I enjoyed this story. There weren’t many twists and turns but it reminded me a lot of Mean Girls, and Cait made the perfect Regina George.

Cherry and her girlfriends have been leading the “Fling Club” since they were teenagers. Every summer they’d all head out to the Hamptons with their families, and for a few months, the girls ruled the world—and the boys.

Then Cherry catches Cait, the club leader, in bed with her boyfriend. And thus begins the plan to destroy Cait and the club.

I liked the way Brown crafted the characters in this book, even though I didn’t like the characters themselves. (Does that make any sense?) The girls in Fling Club bring the term “mean girls” to life, hence the reason I didn’t necessarily like them. But Brown did such a terrific job giving them these personas and bringing out that mean girl mentality, which is the mark of a good writer to me.

This book is well-written and has a good balance of humor, drama, and naughtiness. It was a super easy read, everything flowed well and meshed together, and the author did a terrific job of creating a world filled with spoiled rotten rich kids and all the glitz and glamor that comes with that lifestyle.

Ashley and Cherry … gah! There was this connection between them that was very obvious and palpable to me as a reader. I loved watching the push and pull as they both tried to run from their feelings and act like they didn’t exist.

I also love the cover of this book. The colors are so pretty!

I’m looking forward to book two in this series. And I’m hoping that maybe Brown will write a spin-off book (or two!) using some of the secondary characters, because they were just as much a part of the story and fun to read as the main ones were.

Check this story out if you’re looking for a quick and fun read.

Four stars to this book!

A bit of a predictable story overall but not terrible. It still manages to be rather entertaining and has some interesting characters.

Fling Club is Gossip Girl meets Cruel Intention with a side of Mean Girls!! Tara Brown gives us a crazy, twisted story where revenge is best served warm. If you are looking for a fun summer read give this book a try.

Cherry Kennedy is a rich girl, Manhattan elite. Happy in her little bubble. In love, planning her future when her bubble pops. Suddenly nothing as it seems.

Friends become enemies and the Fling Club that was her playground every summer is not as fun as she originally believed it was. With the help of her brother they quickly form a plan of revenge to take down Cait, the queen bee of the Hamptons.

Enter Ashley,an MIT engineering student, in desperate need of a summer job. He will be Cait’s fling and ultimately her downfall.

I really enjoyed this story as it unfolded and Cherry’s growth as a character—she finally saw herself and friends in a real light—and she was disgusted with herself.

On top of it all, she also starts to develop feelings for the hired help, Ashley, which complicates things in every way.

Once the plan is set in motion will Cherry get her revenge?
Fling Club is a quick, fun read with a good twist. It’s hot and deliciously twisted. Filled with entertaining characters and dramaaaaa.

The idea of FLING CLUB is exciting, and there's no denying that the cover is eye-catching. Unfortunately, what should have been a cute romance proved to be incredibly problematic. There's a way to tell a story about women taking control of their love lives -- and more specifically, their love lives -- without demeaning those very women... which is precisely what the men in this book did. And then there's the entire blackmail issue, which was absolutely disgusting.

As for the characters? I quite liked Ashley, he was a great love interest. It was nice to see a male character that wasn't an ass from the get-go. Unfortunately, I didn't really give care about Cherry, or the rest of the girls -- even Emma was frustrating at the end with how she organized said "takedown."

I wanted to love this book, I did.
But in the end? I couldn't.

I want to be Ella when I grow up! There are so many things to take away from this story. I truly believe that most females have felt like Cherry at some point or many points in their life. The wake up call and harsh truth of how her life really is, was such a tough thing to read through. We are all different people depending on who we are around and that gets exhausting. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series and am so glad to have gotten the chance to read this book from Netgalley and Skyscape.

If you liked Gossip girl or similar shows like that, you'll like this book. Crazy rich NAs doing crazy rich things. It was fun.

3.5 Stars

Fling Club is pretty much Mean Girls-meets-Cruel Intentions. (Did I just age myself? Is it Pretty Little Liars and Gossip Girl these days?)

Spoiled rich brats doing horrible things for no reason other than they want to. Fling Club is most definitely an escape book -- the story is not deep whatsoever, and I really loved to hate the MC, Cherry. I liked the hero, Ashley, much more, and how he struggles to come to terms with his part in Cherry's revenge plot. I just couldn't get over Cherry being such a little witch.

If you are looking for a fluffy fauxmance book, definitely check out Fling Club. There is alot of personal growth on Cherry's part by the end of the book, which kind of redeemed her, in my opinion.

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

* spoiler alert ** Not normally a fan of contemporary new adult romances, I took a friend's suggestion to try this after I mentioned needing a funny but touching read.

The author certainly delivers on comedic gold as well as deep, thought provoking, emotional moments and some major plot twists.

I must say the chapter titles alone would've had me hooked even if the story hadn't; though that is a moot observation as the book rocked too. I think chapter 13's title is both my favorite and my new motto in life "And Then It Got Weird".

Revenge plots never go the way they're supposed to and this one certainly didn't. Cheryl/Cherry is a bit of a naive pushover who finally decides she's had enough when she walks in on her best friend in flagrante delicto with her boyfriend. Her brother and sister see this as a way to destroy Cherry's friend and their little club.

Ella was freaking scary at times with how focused she was. Andy seemed a bit off about the whole thing though I'd never have guessed the real reason why. Ashley is such a smart guy and his reasons for getting into this mess are heartbreaking.

I loved that he called Cheryl on her shit even when her own family wouldn't; making her not only see things from a new perspective but see herself for the first time.

Cheryl uses a LOT of movie references that really do fit this book. It's like mean girls, pretty woman, she's all that, heathers, and cruel intentions all blended together.

Add in the amusement of the author bringing in tons of little bits of current culture (like lip colour company LipSense or the odd heatwave the British Isles are facing) and this is a very modern, contemporary college roolmcom story about finding the truth and yourself while seeking justice..
