The Warrior of Clan Kincaid has all the ingredients of a fabulous Highlander historical. There's intriguing history, the heroine is no slouch, the chemistry between the h and H is palpable, and the evil entity really gave me the creeps.
This is a quick read and one that taps all the veins we grow to love with historical romance. Many a time I had the chills because the tension was too much! And squee, when they finally came together...Cull is the epitome of who we want as a male. he's honorable, he's strong, he's smart, he's loyal, he's hot...

Derryth is cunning and fun, and she can hold her own as well, especially intellectually. I love them together, and this is my favorite book of the series thus far.

What a fantastic book to read. I love reading about Derryth and Cull. So much emotion in this book. I think everyone should read it!

Derryth has been wakened in the middle of the night in order to steal away with a group of guards. She has been spending time with her pregnant sister and brother-in-law at the castle of the clan Kincaid. But, now there is a threat and Derryth must be spirited away. She and the entire traveling group are all dressed as peasants. There should be no problem with the escape.

Things do not go as expected. The entire group is captured and held as hostages.

Derryth is nearly raped by a gang, but she is rescued by Cull. Cull is the commander of the encampment. He has been raised by The Wolf, the man who has gathered everyone there in order to eliminate all Kincaids. When Cull was a child he had been a slave and The Wolf saved him. Cull is a loyal and honorable man. Once Derryth has the mud washed away, Cull is immediately attracted. Derryth is drawn to Cull, almost against her will. These are enemies.

This is the third book in a series, but I was able to read it as a stand alone read although I have not read the first two books.

Ms Blackwood has written a very exciting adventure.

Derryth and her traveling party start out by claiming to be simple travelers. Their captors do not know any differently. But, no matter what, they will be held until the attack is over so they do not give away any secrets.

Derryth is an intelligent young woman who is strong and brave. Cull is a powerful man who is both a brilliant strategist and courageous. He is respected by everyone who knows him.

The plot is well constructed. And the action is quick and entertaining.

I received this book from the publisher through NetGalley. I am voluntarily writing this review and all opinions are completely my own.

The story of the last Kincaid brother should bring this series to a conclusion, but I think Robert is going to have his happy ending also. I liked the two main characters and enjoyed the story enough to read it in one setting. I know a little bit more about Scotland history also now :)

THANKS NETGALLEY FOR THE PREVIEW!

This highlander book was filled with drama, suspense and the kind of passion to draw you in. Good and evil at its best. There was something going on from start to finish. You either really hated or really loved the characters. Amazingly well done! Book provided by NetGalley.

Ever since book one, I have looked forward to the next book in this series.  The characters are so captivating and intense.  Cull the Nameless is such a dark and dangerous character; with his slave background, his cold demeanor, and how he responds to Derryth.  Derryth comes across as a spoiled young girl too superficial and selfish, until she is almost raped and then capture by Cull and his army who are hellbent on taking Inverhaven.  What Cull and Derryth do not realize is that he is the third and youngest lost child of the murdered Laird Kincaid and that the Wolf of Badenoch wants him to take it and kill the “imposters”, not realizing that they are in fact his brothers.  The story is engaging, intense, action-packed, passionate, poignant, and perfect.  I LOVED the “I chose you” scenes between Cull and Derryth.  I’m glad that in the end, he got his name, and a family, and a woman that loved him so much.  His ordeal, I think, was the worst of the three brothers and he definitely deserved a happily ever after.  Loved every second of the story and highly recommend the series.

I really enjoyed Derryth and Cull's story!

Cull has no idea who he is or where he came from, so when the man known as the Wolf rescues him from a life as a slave, he pledges himself to him. Many years later, he is the man's toughest warrior and in charge of the attack on Clan Kincaid.

Derryth is the sister of the Lady Kincaid and when news of an imminent attack arrives, she is send away to safety. Unfortunately, she and her traveling companions are captured by the very people who are on their way to attach their clan. They claim to be members of another clan and are put to work by Cull. Because of the way his men treated Derryth, he has taken an interest in keeping her safe.

As they spend time together, they become closer and Derryth soon sees the mark on Cull that identifies him as the last remaining Kincaid brother. Will Cull stick by the side of the man that saved him from a life of slavery or will he side with the family he has never know?

This was a great conclusion to this awesome series!

The story really pulls you in right at the start. Strong characters with great chemistry. Lots of suspense and action. All around wonderful book.

This was a fun, interesting and heartwarming book. A pretty standard historical romance, with a pleasant story and solid writing. The only thing I had a problem with was the fact that we all knew about Cull's family from the synopses, but the "grand reveal" of this took forever - until almost the last chapter. I think this could have happened earlier and been better explained and explored as a plot point. Anyway, I really liked it. Ms. Blackwood is a new to me author and I will be reading the previous books from this series.

<b>I received this novel from net galley for an honest review.

Review on line now!</b>

Cull has been rescued from slavery by Buchan The Wolf who have him trained as warrior and made him a leader of the campaign to obliterate the Kincaids.

He's a loner, but feels extremly in debt to Buchan for saving him and thus serves him faithfully.

He's harsh, but repected by his worriors.

So when he find a group of his mercenaries attempting a rape, he's furious! He saves the victim and punishes the culprits.

The victim is Derryth, sister to the Kincaid chieftain's wife, who has been sent away by the Kincaids as soon as they had hint about the possible attack. Unfortunately she and the people who're escorting her are ambushed and she's been saved by Cull.

Cull is instantly attracted to her as soon as she's clean enough to be recognizable as a young woman, but he thinks her to be a peasant returning home.

This is their story.

I liked it, but it was a bit insta-love/lust story.

What I liked much was Cull. He's extremly honorable and just. While The Wolf wants Kincaids destruction, Cull want to defeat them honorably and becomes more and more aware that there's something sinister about how Wolf's manage this whole matter.

He's able to juggle Derryth's protection, Wolf's machinations, Dancan's (Wolf's son) taunting and jealousy, with the help of Wolf's second son, Robert.

Derryth is a very young girl. She's also very girly: she likes her dresses, her jewels, her hair... But she's thrown into a very dangerous situation and she's willing to adapt.

At first she hates Cull because he's the enemy, but after witnessing his honorable behaviour, she find herself more and more attracted to him.

At the middle of the book they're both in love with each other and seeks solutions to a really dangerous and seemingly impossible situation.

At the end everything comes out! <spoiler>Cull is the lost Kincaid brother Cullen who was thought dead. Instead The Wolf sold him in slavery in order to seemingly buy him and save him, but making him his man and wanting to make him kill his true family! For the Wolf that is the ultimate revenge against the Kincaids! Sick bastard!</spoiler>

A lovely romance, but for me the insta lust/love was a little OTT, so I detracted 1 star from my rating. If that part was done a little bit differently, the story would have been a full 5 stars!

I am so disappointed! Buuuuuuut not in the book I am disappointed with myself, why you may ask because this is the third in this series and let me tell you it was good, so of course now I have 2 more books to read. We have Cull a loving warrior, a man who has lost his memory and does not really know who he, as he take care of Derryth he falls in love and when he finds out who he is, he is conflicted will he choose love or his family? Then we have Derryth who was sent away to protect her and ends up being kidnapped and Cull the least likely person for her to fall in love happens to be just that when she discovers something on him telling her who it is... I wont tell you more but you will not have time to get bored this will keep you on your toes. Enjoy!

Derryth McClaren is the sister of the Laird of the Kincaid clan and has been living with the Kincaids for the past two years The Laird fears that they will be attacked so he sends Derryth away temporarily to her own home. While they travel they are attacked and taken prisoner by the exact men they are trying to get away from.

Derryth is taken by the commander of the army that plans on attacking the Kincaids. At first he thinks that Derryth is a very young girl but once the mud and grime are removed he sees that she’s a very beautiful woman. Derryth keeps her identity and link to the Kincaid clan a secret. Despite trying to keep his hands and thoughts off of her, Cull the Nameless can’t do it.

Cull is a warrior and the King’s man. He is attacking the Kincaid clan as he believes that he has orders from the king to do so. He was once just a boy on a slavers ship with no memory of how he got there. He was purchased by the son of the King and that’s how he came to be commander of the army. When he finds out that Derryth is part of the Kincaid clan Cull starts to have second thoughts about attacking but decides he needs proof of the king’s son’s wrong-doing before he does anything. He won’t risk the Derryth, the woman he has fallen in love with, or her family if he doesn’t have to.

The third book in the Highland Warrior series was a good one. If you’ve read the first two book in the series, you know that they revolve around three brothers who were lost or thought dead. Despite knowing that this third book was about the third brother I was a little disappointed in the blurb as it gave so much away! Despite the over-sharing, I still enjoyed the way Blackwood unfolded the story.

Derryth was a bit of a pampered miss and was more interested in clothes and her hair than anything else. She was determined to change but it never happened. Becoming a prisoner made her look at life differently and I think she grew during the book. Cull was a good man. He wasn’t evil or under-handed and I liked the honor he had. When he realized that the king’s son might not have told him the truth about the orders to attack the Kincaid stronghold he sought proof. I loved that he didn’t kill just for bloodsport.

The romance between the two main characters was good. It’s a difficult thing, having the heroine fall in love with her captor, but I thought that the author wrote it well and didn’t have Derryth falling too quickly.

Overall a good book filled with action, romance, treachery and love.

I received a copy of this e-book and am voluntarily leaving an honest opinion.

When Clan Kincaid is in danger of being attacked, Derryth is sent away to be kept safe. The plan is for the group to claim they are from another clan and traveling to work in the fields of a fellow clan. This does not work though and they are intercepted by Buchan's warriors.

Cull the Nameless(so sad!) is leading the warriors. He is a King's Man and loyal. He tells the travelers that he cannot trust them in claims of who they are so they must stay until his warriors are sent to attack Kincaid. Derryth is almost raped by some soldiers when they were caught so Cull has taken her to his tent. She is covered in mud and dressed in "commoners" clothes.

Cull is shocked when he sees her after the mud is cleaned off and Derryth, when her guard is down, has to admit he is a very handsome man. She has plenty of attitude and has no problem voicing her opinions.

Will Cull attack the Kincaids? Will he find out Derryth is sister-in-law to the Kincaid? Will they be able to fight the attraction and mostly, will Cull find out who he really is?

I really enjoyed this story. The last third of the book gets very intense between Cull and Derryths attraction and the political issues. Buchan was not a nice man, he is out for his own interests. I really liked his son Robert, who was a good man and friend to Cull, but the other son Duncan is so evil, he may actually be worse than his father.

Cull is a very honorable and fair man and all can see it in the way he treats others . He is still a warrior though and loyal to his King. Cull starts to have doubts about Buchan's plan to attack the Kincaids and this is where it all starts to unravel.

In the meantime, Duncan has abducted Derryth and plan's on marrying her because of who she is. Cull must discover the truth and save his woman.

I would definitely recommend this story!

I love a book where I go to research the reality of the history taking place, even though a fictional story is told around it. Such is the case with 'The Warrior of Clan Kincaid'. The characters were all well drawn, and Derryth and Cull were engaging and likeable. The mystery and intrigue was extremely well executed. The graphic sex keep it from being perfect for me, otherwise I'd highly recommend the story.

I didn't realize this was book 3 in a series but it didn't stop me from enjoying it immensely. Cull isn't the typical highlander hero in that he's not the laird or laird apparent but he still has the whole alpha male sexiness going on. Despite being a hardened warrior Cull has a good heart and the way he treats Derryth despite her being a pain made me like him all the more. Derryth was a bit whiny and childish at first but she did grow on me since she realized she needed to grow and become less self centered.

I thoroughly enjoyed the story itself and watching Derryth and Cull together. Once I started reading I didn't want to put the book down and I definitely want to go back and read the first two books. The Warrior of Clan Kincaid is a fantastic read for any highland romance fans!

That was really good! Fast paced, interesting, sexy and sweet, action packed, and intrigue, so something for everyone. I hadn't read the other two stories, but had no trouble following along with the connections to existing characters

Cull remembers being taken from a slave ship and trained to be a warrior. He is knighted, but has no name, and is a King's Guard, and takes that very seriously. He is travelling with his army against an enemy, so he has been told, of the King. He has been told this by his saviour, known as the Wolf, wh is feared for all the ruthless actions he takes

Derryth had been on her way to safety when intercepted. Cull saves her from ruffians, and treats her well. Feelings develop between them, but fate intervenes. Theirs is not a simple journey, or a straight line to get to their HEA, but the twists and turns and bumps along the way only push our story further along

Overall, a most enjoyable read!

This was a DNF for me, I'm afraid. While I love the premise - captor and captive turned lovers - this felt too underdeveloped for it to be anything but creepy and unbelievable. Derryth was insipid and boring and Cull was just a bit lame.

5 Stars!! Loved this book!! This is the first book I’ve read from this series & this is the 3rd book in the series! It’s actually the first book I’ve read by this author! I need to read the other books in the ‘Highland Warrior’ series!! Lily Blackwood is an amazing writer!! This book captured & held my attention! And the problems that came between the 2 main characters weren’t stupid problems that came from one not saying something to the other or silly crap that really shouldn’t be a problem! I enjoyed every page of this book! 100% Highly recommended!! This book was very enjoyable & it was pretty funny! One part I loved & laughed at was towards the end when Cull goes into the castle to find Derryth & meets her brother in-laws & Derryth says she has to tell them something & Cull blurts out something & she looks over at him & says that that wasn’t what she was going to tell them! Haha!!! I’m definitely going to be reading more Lily Blackwood books!!

This was my first book by this Author, and I would definitely read her work again. The chemistry between the main characters is good, they are both likeable and the storyline interesting. I felt the end dragged a little, but overall it was an enjoyable read. I was given an ARC by NetGalley for my honest opinion.
