This was a good ending to the series. It was fantastic to get all the secrets out in the open and have a better understanding of who was doing what and why.

I have really enjoyed this series because of the mystery/suspense aspects of the storylines. Love reading a story that will keep me guessing at what could possibly happen next.

I could not finish this one not because it was bad but I had not read the other novels and I am not totally into romantic scenes in a book. I prefer the nitty gritty stuff.

The last book in the Son of Broad series. While I enjoyed this book at times I felt lost while reading. The storyline was great, but just felt like I could not follow what was happening.

The Benedict brothers all capture your attention and the Kipling who is set is his ways is about to find someone who pushes those limits. Allison and Kipling have chemistry that will not be denied and watching them grow and try and solve a kidnapping will have them finding out more than they thought.

This book was the conclusion of the Sons of Broad. It was a great conclusion. It left no questions and all 3 Benedict brothers got their happy ending.

Tara Thomas left me guessing as to who the Gentleman was and his reason for targeting the Benedicts.

I thought it was really engaging and had me hooked, just that for me this was book 3. Wished I read the first two installments of the series. Kipling and Alyssa, the eldest brother of the Benedict family and empire and Alyssa police officer is their story. Appears that in the past series a serial killer and kidnapper turned out to be Alyssa's boyfriend, which she didn't see as a law enforcement officer and Kipling eldest brother of 3 boys in the Benedict family finds out they have a sister from their father's infidelity who he turned away. Well the story continues with Jade, Kipling's sister and Alyssa is trying to find the person who murdered her sister years ago and other countless women which brings Alyssa and Kipling together along with Jade as the final missing piece. Was really good.

I left a 4 star rating when I read this book 4 years ago but didn't write a formal review. I am marking the rating here to move this book off my shelf. This is a great series!

This was a great start to this series. I was cheering on everyone in the book. I loved the different storyline and could see how these would build out to the different books

I gave this book a DNF as I didn’t realize it was the third book in the series and was completely lost. This book definitely can not be read as a stand-alone.

This is book 3 of the Sons of Broad Series. Charleston Police Officer Alyssa Adams made promises to keep women safe and find them if they go missing. Kipling Benedict has his own problems, including a long-lost sibling that goes missing. He turns to Alyssa to help him find her and in turn he helps Alyssa find her sister. Will they succeed, and ill the sparks that fly between them pull them together or blow everything apart?

Let me start off by saying these books need to be read in the order they were released, there is a running story and cliffhangers with the prior books that bring us to this final book in the series and let me tell you it was a great way to end things!

Alyssa and Kipling were perfect together, I loved the way they worked together and their chemistry was intense.

This story left no questions unanswered which is the perfect way to end a series. I look forward to reading more of Tara Thomas' work.

If you enjoy Romantic Suspense I would highly recommend this series to you.

Happy Reading!!!

What a fascinating book. I was impressed by the storyline and the characters were all well written and complex. Where there are complex storylines combined with intriguing characters the reader experience is magnified tremendously. To have a book that is well written as well as entertaining is a delight. Reading is about escaping your world and entering another one. The word building was phenomenal in this book. Here I forgot about my own life and was immersed in the world created by the author. I would recommend this book.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the complimentary ARC. All opinions provided are my own.

DNF

I love romantic suspense so I was excited to try this new-to-me author. Unfortunately I decided to DNF Tara Thomas’s Broken Promise because it’s the third time I’ve started & stopped, unable to get past the—to me—off-putting leads.

While I’m intrigued by a book with such interesting family dynamics & the leads’s emotional backstories, I don’t think this book is for me.

Thanks for the opportunity to review this romance!

Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me to read this. I apologize the review is many years late, but I liked this book very much and wanted to review it. I did NOT read the other 3 prequel novellas in this series but that did not matter to me at all. this book kept me enthralled and I couldn't put it down.

This third book starts with 3 brothers who are very wealthy and is mostly about Kipling, the oldest of the three Benedict brothers who is considered the "head" of the Benedict family. The other brothers have all fell in love and it is now his turn, and surprisingly, he falls for a police officer who had grated on his last nerve in the past and arrested him once before.

Alyssa became a police officer after the murder of her older sister many years before and she becomes involved with the Benedict brothers after they start receiving death threats. As the clues unfold, Alyssa notices that a lot of the signs point to her sister's own death and Kipling and Alyssa team up to unravel this mystery before anyone else turns up in the morgue.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I received the first and third books in this trilogy from NetGalley; I (obviously) had to purchase the second so I could read the entire series. As a conclusion to the trilogy, I thought this was a solid book. Some things could have been done a bit better, in my opinion, and there were some threads that were abandoned without really being resolved or even explored thoroughly. For example, the idea that the cops/higher ups in the city may have been at least knowledgable of (if not complicit in) the crimes of The Gentleman and they couldn't be trusted. Nothing really happened with that. It is very hard to believe somebody could have committed SO MANY crimes for SO LONG and somebody somewhere wasn't covering up for him. Not to mention the whole catalyst for The Gentleman's motivation was beyond creepy and, in my opinion, a little ridiculous.

As far as this particluar story and the romance between Kipling and Alyssa: it was okay. I said in my previous review that I didn't love the borderline sexual harrassment-type attention that Kipling was paying Alyssa as she was trying to do her job. It made it even worse that it was supposed to be interpreted by us as #goals and that, in the end, it wooed Alyssa. Of the three relationships in the trilogy, theirs is definitely my least favorite.

As I said, this conclusion is satisfying in relation to this trilogy as a whole. There were a few surprises that caught me off guard, but the identity of The Gentleman was one of two men I suspected while reading the first book. I've said in many of my reviews that being able to predict certain elements of mystery books doesn't ruin reveals for me so that did not bother me. If romantic suspense is your genre, then you would likely enjoy this trilogy.

I'm sorry I downloaded it's 'read now' and wasn't able to read it so I hate to give a negative review.

I did not know that this is the third book in the series, and perhaps there is some references to events in the previous books that would have helped me to understand this book better. However this does read nicely as a standalone!
Alyssa is on a mission to try and find each and every missing woman, fueled on by her own sister's disappearance many years ago. It is this dogged determination that makes the eldest brother of the Benedict brothers reach out to her for help in finding a kidnapped sibling.
Recommended for anyone who likes a good read with a little bit of romance mixed in between.

So while I loved this book and thought the storyline was fantastic, I hadn’t read the previous books and definitely felt I was at a disadvantage because of this. I thought Alyssa and Kipling were great characters but I felt a bit lost as the story progressed. I definitely recommend the book, but highly suggest reading the entire series of previous books first!

This is the third story in the sons of broad series and i found that it was short suspenseful read. I was able to read this all in one sitting because i wanted to find out what was going to happen in the story.I enjoyed the suspense in this story and the main characters.

This series is interesting but definitely not one of my favorites. This book os better than the first but I think the plot is pretty boring. It has potential but is just not for me. I have read just about all of them though, so there is something there that keeps me reading but I cant quite put my finger on it.

Broken Promise by Tara Thomas is the third and final book in the romantic suspense Sons of Broad series. There were also three prequel novellas that helped open up the series before the full length novels began. This was a great conclusion that included all of the previous characters and gave a final look into them all in the wrap up. A great series overall for the fans of romantic suspense.
