What if your whole life was based on a lie? This is a fast paced psychological thriller. Twists and turns galore, nothing is what it seems. The conclusion... you need to read it!! ARC provided by Netgalley and Publisher for a honest review.

I want to thank NetGalley for providing me with this digital copy for my free and honest review.
Have you ever had a bad week? Joe Lynch normally has a pretty quiet life; the perfect life. A beautiful wife, an adorable son and good job as an school teacher. One evening after picking his son up after school he makes a decision that will forever change his life. His wife has lied to him and he soon learns that he doesn't know who he can truly trust. Over the process of the following week his proceeds to fall apart, and he finds himself at the heart of a murder investigation.
This definitely kept my attention and just when I thought I had it figured out, I found out I was wrong..It is a quick read that keeps you guessing and I recommend it for anyone who enjoys a domestic thriller.

Joe is a man who loves his wife and son. He is content with what he thought was a normal life. Without warning, his world changes and within a few days his life begins to unravel and he finds himself on a path he never imagined. Nothing is as it once seemed and he needs to find a way to bring order back into his life. Readers will wonder if this is even possible.
LIES is a precisely crafted psychological thriller. Tension builds rapidly, immersing the reader into the story. The powers of modern technology and social media plays an important part in the narrative.
The author has written an engrossing and fascinating novel that leads to a surprising conclusion. Highly recommended.

Joe’s son Will spots his mum’s car driving into a hotel and excitedly asks his dad to follow mummy. Joe sees his wife in the lobby having a heated argument with a family friend (Ben). Confused, he steers his son away and returns to the parking lot where they encounter Ben getting into his vehicle. Joe begins an argument with Ben. He pushes Ben, Ben bangs his head, falls to the floor and lies very still with blood coming from his ear. Joe’s son chooses this moment to have an asthma attack - no pump in the car. Joe has to drive home like a maniac to save little Will. Joe, feeling guilty, returns to help Ben but there is no sign of Ben or Ben’s car.
And this is where the lies begin... Who can be trusted? Joe’s wife Mel is having an affair with Ben. Mel tells Joe that Ben wants more than an affair - he wants to marry Mel and will stop at nothing to make her his own. And he is a man with a reputation for being ruthless - in his business and personal life. Joe is heartbroken but not ready to let Mel go....
I must say I liked Joe Lynch the mild mannered English school teacher who loved his wife very much. He took part time hours so he could spend more time with their son - just the perfect husband. Then he went through eight days of hell and there were times when I wanted to smack him - just the way he talked he seemed so naive. But still it was a good page turner with an ending that I didn’t expect.
Based on this I would be very interested in reading other T.M. Logan books

Wow! What a story! It was definitely an edge of your seat hard to put down thriller! The story sucked me in and I was kept guessing til the end! I was blown away by the ending!

My Review of”Lies” by T M Logan St. Martin’s Press September 11, 2018
T M Logan, Author of “Lies” has written a captivating, intriguing, intense suspenseful novel. The Genres for this novel are Fiction, Mystery, Suspense and Thriller. The story is set in the present tense and goes back to the past when it pertains to the characters or events in the story. BE WARNED: You will not expect the ending, No way. (No cheating by going to the end)
The author describes her characters as complex and complicated. There are betrayals and deep secrets. There are clues and red herrings along the way. This is one roller coaster of a ride, but not predictable at all. Joe Lynch has an adorable young son, and a wife that is full of surprises. Actually, Joe is in for a rude awakening. His life will never be the same. Can one be sure that you really know the one that you married?
It starts with Joe’s wife telling him one lie. Joe, his wife, and his son’s life’s are threatened by a crazy person Why is Joe is losing everything? There are no rules. Someone is cunning and vicious. I would recommend this for readers who love thrillers with a surprise ending. I received an ARC from NetGalley for my honest review.

In one moment, Joe Lynch's life changes completely. He's driving home with this young son when they spot his wife's car at a hotel. William wants to surprise his mommy so of course Joe obliges, only to find her in an argument with one of their friends, Ben. They bicker and Joe knocks Ben unconscious and this is only the start of Joe's terrifying days to come.
I was completely sucked into this book from the beginning. I HAD to know what was going to happen! It was twisted, fast paced, and full of tension that left me on the edge of my seat!
Lie after lie after lie came pummeling at Joe. The poor guy couldn't catch a break. The ending completely took me by surprise, and I knocked off a star because I wasn't fully convinced it was plausible, but I thoroughly enjoyed reading this thriller!
Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the opportunity to read an ARC of "Lies"; all opinions are my own.

This book had me engaged but left me disturbed. I don’t want to create any spoilers, but the author created a story that will leave some people wondering who and what they can trust. You may even rethink how you are using social media. While I like suspense, this is not the kind of book I would be likely to read again because of its disturbing nature. However, if you like suspense, try it. However, it may change how you think or see things.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book provided by the publisher and Net Galley. However, the thoughts expressed are my own.

Thank you for ARC by Net Galley and St Martins Press for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.
Exactly the kind of myster/thriller I enjoy reading. Written to grab you from the first page with a plot that has enough twists and surprised to keep you reading into the night! The characters were well developed and suspects plentiful! T.M. Logan has scored a hot in my opinion! Don't let this one get by you! 4 very strong stars!

This book made my list of best books of 2018 because from the very first page you know you're in for a rollercoaster of ride so make sure that you are well strapped in and enjoy the ride. It's a taunt well paced plot with twists and turns that you won't see coming. It will have you feverishly reading as fast as you can because you just have to know what's going on. Add it to your TBR pile and prepare for a dazzling heart pounding ride of a book. Happy reading!

**Thanks to St. Martin's Press for an advanced readers copy!**
From start to finish, this book had me hooked! Constant thrills, and really it just kept moving so fast I just couldn't put it down. It broke through my reading lull.
And you kind of get an idea of what is going on. And you are like, "yeah, here's what is going to happen." And it was still good, but I thought I had it all figure out...nope...just nope.
An absolutely amazing thrill ride! Seriously, go buy a copy or go visit your library, but do yourself a favor and read this one.

Lies by T.M. Logan is one of those books that I just had to read in one day because I became wrapped up in all lies, lies, and more lies that just piled up from almost the opening page until the very end of the book! There was no way that I could start this book, put it down, and go to sleep without knowing how it ended!
It is a seemingly normal evening when Joe is on the way home with his young, adorable (just so adorable!) son Will when Will, who is obsessed with cars sees a car that looks just like his mum's car as it's the same make and same color. Wait...it doesn't look just like his mum's car, it IS his mum's car, and Will wants to surprise his mum, so Joe follows her. Into a hotel parking garage.
What follows quickly turns the novel into a fast-paced, intense, and twisted read since Joe finds his wife Mel with Ben, a family friend, but neither of them looks very happy. And Joe can't help wondering why his wife is in a hotel with another man?? Surely Mel isn't having an affair...
Things turn ugly and violent very quickly when Joe and Ben have an altercation in the parking garage after Mel leaves when Ben hits Joe, Joe pushes him away, and Ben falls to the ground, apparently unconscious. In the middle of all this, Will begins having a serious asthma attack, and Joe has to make a split second decision to take care of Will or Ben...obviously he has to save his son's life and goes home.
Yet, Joe being the decent, kind-hearted person he is just can't leave Ben where he is and runs back to check on him as soon as Will is okay. But there are no signs of Ben or his car. Now Joe is involved in a tangled web of danger and deceit, and he has no idea who he can trust since even his own wife immediately starts lying to him about being at the hotel that evening and the reason why!
Poor Joe, he's just your average guy (an average Joe...as he has been taunted over the years by Ben) trying to do the right things throughout his life and show his son by example how to be a good person. Honestly, I loved Joe's character even the times that I wanted to yell at him and say "no, don't do that because it's a stupid idea" or "no!! don't believe that because it's a lie!" since he's just genuinely a great guy, a hard worker, a wonderful husband, an excellent father, and honest to a fault. Joe's so good and honest that he can't understand or even believe it when he's being blamed for Ben's disappearance! There are way too many books with completely unlikeable protagonists, so it was fabulous to read a thriller, no less, with a likable narrator!!
Obviously, this book wouldn't be called Lies if it wasn't full of them and as I said they start piling up from almost the beginning and everyone is telling them, even Joe who starts telling them to protect the people he loves from what he thinks is going on but wow, he just has no clue!
I admit that I had a lot of the little twists figured out while reading the book including the person who was doing a lot of the horrible things to implicate Joe via social media, an aspect that plays a huge role in the book! You'll definitely look at your Facebook, computer, and cell phone in a new light after reading this book or at least I did! But one of the really big twists at the end of the book shocked me as much as it did the other readers, and I was just like, "did not see that coming!", which I really appreciated since I had half of it figured out (the way I thought it was going was way off base!). When you read as many thrillers as I have and do, it is really hard to be shocked by twists anymore so anytime that I am, I get ecstatic!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and it is definitely a fun, suspenseful page-turner that I recommend everyone pick up and read and enjoy as much as I did! T.M. Logan has a new fan, and I'm already looking forward to reading his other book 29 Seconds!
**Thank you, NetGalley and St.Martin's Press for the ARC in exchange for my fair and honest review.**

Lies is a twisty and edgy domestic thriller that I thoroughly enjoyed. Joe's perfect life starts to unravel when during his regular evening commute he spots his wife meeting another man instead of being at work. Is she lying to Joe? Is their perfect marriage not so perfect after all? And can it be saved? The premise itself is not that surprising for a domestic thriller but the book is so well written, it grabs you from the first page. I was definitely hooked from the first few sentences and found it hard to put down. And even though I expected the book to have many twists and did not trust any of the characters, the ending still surprised me. I didn't guess it at all. I definitely would recommend Lies to all domestic suspense lovers.

Joe Lynch is a teacher with a son named William, age 4. He is driving his some home from school when William sees his mother’s car turn into a hotel. William loves cars and recognizes all the makes. He points it out to Joe and insists that they surprise Mummy and show her the special certification he got at school today. They park in the underground parking garage and follow Melissa into the hotel. The find her talking to Ben Delaney, the wealthy husband of her best friend, Beth. Ben appears to be very angry. Joe follows Ben and Melissa back down to the parking garage and before he can say anything to Melissa, she drives off. Joe sees Ben heading to his car and stops to ask him what was going on inside the hotel. Ben gets angry and a scuffle ends up with Ben falling, hitting his head, and passing out. When William sees the altercation, he becomes upset and starts having a severe asthma attack necessitating Joe take his home for his inhaler. Returning to see if Ben is OK, he finds him and his car gone. Problem is, Joe’s cell phone is gone too. Did he drop it in the scuffle?
When Melissa comes home, Joe tells her he saw her, but she lies and tells hims that she was playing tennis. Joe doesn’t know why she is lying. Later, she tells him that Ben needed her human resources advice on an employee of his who was cheating him.
Joe never finds his phone and has to get a replacement. Although he tries to call Ben to see if he is OK, he can’t get in touch with him. When he talks to Ben’s wife, Beth, she says that Ben has been very angry and violent lately, hurting her physically. She adds that Ben has been cursing about Joe to her. He then took a gun and left.
No one has seen Ben but Joe is worried not only for himself and his family but for Beth and her daughter, Alice, as well. He tries to look for him but then texts and other threatening messages begin coming into him from Ben. What is going on and where has Ben gone?
This is a good story with an ending that caught me totally unaware. Wow! I didn’t see that one coming. I know readers will enjoy this book.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy. I am voluntarily leaving a review. This is the story of Joe, a happily married man, father and teacher. His life is turned upside down one day when he spies his wife driving into a parking garage. He becomes the prime suspect in a murder without a body. He doesn't know who to trust and it seems like whoever is doing this to him is always a couple of steps in front of him. The story is all told in Joe's POV. I found him to be a little too naive and trusting but OMG, the twist at the end I did not see coming.

This book kept me guessing until the end! The story centers around Joe, who is a loving husband and an active participant in his son's ,William, life. After William spots his Mom car going into a hotel parking garage, while being driven home by Joe. Joe makes a life altering decision to follow her into the garage; what transpire will set off events that Joe never imagined!!!
What Joe thinks he knows about his wife, Mel, and his seemlingly perfect life is a lie. When their friends Beth, Ben, and Alice are thrown in---the shenanigans only increase! This book was a fast-paced read and a thrilling whodunnit! The reason why I rated the book 5 out of 5, because all the theories I had about how the book would end was wrong! The way T.M. ended the book was SO much better than my theories!!! I highly recommend giving this book a read!!
Thank you Netgalley & T.M. Logan for providing me an ARC of this book.

Lies is a fast-paced psychological thriller for the first half of the book. I was sucked in feeling sorry for the main character who did nothing wrong and was being blamed for Ben’s disappearance and possible death. As the story continued, it dragged on and on and as the end approached and the truth was revealed it was just blah...I no longer felt for the main character. Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the copy to read and review.

Lies was a captivating read from beginning to end. It was so twisted and I didn’t know what the hell was going to happen until near the end. It definitely left me guessing and I wasn’t suspecting that ending!
Joe is your average dad and husband. Maybe a little bit above average for being a dad. As he doesn’t mind he’s working part time and taking care of his son for the rest of the time. He has the perfect life. The perfect wife. The perfect son. The person marriage or so he thinks. When an unspeakable thing happens his life takes a turn for the worse. Everything he thought he knew turns upside down and his life is about to take an awful turn.
I had a love/dislike relationship with Joe. I respected him for being a great dad and even a good husband. But he was also a wimp and not very smart. We watch him try to solve a mystery that will destroy his life. He’s so dumb sometimes. When things were obvious for me, the reader, things weren’t so obvious for him.
I didn’t know what to think of Mel. She seemed a little disconnected with her son. Maybe because she works late and is always at the country club playing tennis. We don’t get much insight about her.
Overall I really enjoyed this book. It was suspenseful, addicting, and I couldn’t put it down. This is my first book by this author and it won’t be the last.

Joe is a school teacher and father who catches his wife in a lie and his whole life unravels. In a matter of days he becomes a suspect in murder. Social media and spyware are featured and because of hacking and Photoshop you can't always bribe your eyes. The dialogue is strong and there is suspense from the beginning. The story falls apart at the end when the pieces are being forced together. A strong read up until then.

For me, this book was a chore to read, one that I struggled through and pushed myself to finish, not because it was a difficult read or anything like that (in fact, I found the writing on this one a bit too simplistic), but rather, I felt that the story never really took off. The premise had potential, as there aren’t too many books out there nowadays that incorporate modern technology (in the form of smartphones, tablets, laptops) and social media (i.e. Facebook) into a crime thriller – the technology in this case was front and center and in some instances, even became one of the focal “characters” in the story. Unfortunately, the execution didn’t really work for me – I felt that the plot was a bit all over the place (especially in the second half of the book), the characters were one-dimensional and written in a way that made all of them unlikable (with the exception of the kid William), and too many elements of the story just seemed implausible. Throughout most of the story, there just seemed to be way too much “explaining” going on by various characters, especially as it related to aspects of technology and social media, things that I felt were common sense enough in this day and age that such thorough explanations felt unnecessary. Parts of the story were also bogged down by what I felt were details that didn’t matter (for example, one of the characters taking out their smart phone, swiping over to an app, opening file manager, going through each folder, pulling up a file, closing it out, etc.) – it felt tedious, and for me, detracted from the telling of the main story.
I went into this book initially expecting it to be an “edge-of-your-seat” thriller and admittedly, the first couple chapters did pique my curiosity. However the story slowed considerably and started to drag quite a bit in the middle, to the point that by the time I got to the “twist” at the end, it felt anti-climactic (though it probably didn’t help that I already figured out most of the ending already by then so the surprise element wasn’t there). I also felt like I had to suspend disbelief a bit too much throughout the story – yes, the title of the book is Lies and there are plenty of them in the story, but it seemed like only the main character Joe was the one constantly being lied to….he came across as a little too naïve and clueless until the end when he suddenly figured everything out, which seemed just too implausible to me. Joe’s reaction to things that happen in the story also felt a little off, emotionless almost, which made it hard for me to connect with that character (technically all the characters to be honest), though I think this has to do more with Joe also narrating the story from his own first person point of view. I guess I’m just not a fan of fictional stories that are told in 1st person because the viewpoint is so limited and unless the author is trying to achieve a particular purpose with the story, it’s a skill that I feel is hard to get right.
While I don’t regret reading this one and some parts of it truly were entertaining, it just wasn’t enough for this to feel like a satisfying read to me. Overall, I felt the content was good, just didn’t really like the execution. With that said, I do appreciate all the research that went into the book and I actually did learn a bit more about social media and technology than I knew before, which is why I decided to rate this 3 stars, even though it was technically closer to 2.5 stars. It looks like I’m in the minority with this one though, as everyone else seemed to like it more than I did, so I would recommend checking out those reviews to get a more balanced opinion.
