All in all I like this book. Good storyline, great characters. The plot was very interesting, however I felt the book was a bit long and dragged out. A man catches his wife having an affair, he is devised. She promises to mend her ways. Joe Lynch is a great husband and father. Happy with his life. He gets drawn into a messy, online game with people trying to destroy him. Thanks for my free copy. I would recommend this book.

I loved the pacing. The story stayed on the rails of u folding the mystery throughout without going in to something else less interesting just to fill pages. I really liked Joe and could really put myself in to his shoes. Nothing too outlandish here and could easily enough be done which adds a bit of scariness that has me looking at my phone twice beguiled with wonder. The ending unfolded thoughtfully and answered things perfectly not just wrapping it up in one page. Even added additional suspense the way they were revealed to the reader. I would definitely recommend and look forward to reading what comes next. Cheer!

Every time I thought I knew how it would end, there would be a new twist that would completely throw me off! I found myself bringing my Kindle with me and reading this every chance I had! The author kept this plot moving from beginning to end. It was a fast-paced thriller that did not disappoint! I will definitely be reading more by T. M. Logan!

This was the first title I've read from TM Logan, it was definitely a solid 4🌟 read for me. Lots of twists and turns, with a gripping story line. I thoroughly enjoyed it! While at first it feels a little predictable, by the end it threw me for loop-- which I absolutely love!
And the story goes...
Joe Lynch's life seems rather ordinary, but nonetheless quite perfect. A beautiful wife, Mel, who is driven and successful, a perfect son, and a great teaching job which allows him to spend time with son, life couldn't be better for joe. Until one day, while driving home, his son spots Mel's car turning into a hotel. Deciding to surprise her, Joe detours and follows her into the parking lot. Leaving his son in the back seat for moment, Joe runs in the hotel where he is shocked to find Mel with another man, none other than her best friend's husband, Ben. Needing to go back to his son but needing answers, he waits for her to come out. Instead Ben does. Not sure of what's going on and needing answers, Joe confronts Ben, who is already visibly agitated. Ben yells at Joe, essentially calling him a loser, and takes a swing at him, despite being at a height and weight disadvantage. Defending himself, Joe shoves Ben who falls backwards and is knocked unconscious and bleeding from his ears. At the same time, Joe notices his son having an asthma attack in the car. Deciding his son's life is more important, Joe rushes home to find his son's inhaler, leaving Ben lying on the ground, bleeding. But realizing his cellphone is missing (and he's always a good guy), Joe calls the hotel from his house, once his son is okay, and eventually goes back to check on Ben.
Now this is where it starts to get crazy... Ben is no where to be found. Neither is Joe's cell phone. Unnerved, Joe returns home to find his wife there, and the lies begin. At the same time, random and vague Facebook posts show up on Joe's account which he quickly deletes, but not before countless people have commented on it. Then taunting texts start to arrive... despite the fact that no one can find Ben.
Pick up this book now to discover all of the lies that unfold. It will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very surprising end!
Special thanks to #StMartinsPress and #NetGalley for the arc for my honest review!

With a title like Lies you know you're getting on a wild ride. Joe and his son William happen to see his wife's car and decide to follow her in order to surprise her in the middle of the day. Everything, and I do mean EVERYTHING!, goes downhill from there.
Although the story has many twists and turns, the implausibility of it is sky high. As a protagonist, I found Joe to be too trusting, too naive and too weak of a character. I did not particularly like Mel or Beth's characters for different reasons, which made them difficult for me to relate to. I had most of the storyline figured out before the author slowly unraveled it. The storyline got rather slow and repetitive during the middle, so I wasn't reaching for it every chance I had.
This wild ride just didn't do it for me.

I received an advanced copy of this book through NetGalley. This book had me from the very beginning. I love that it kept me engaged the entire time. I couldn't wait to see how it ended. I would highly recommend to all my fellow readers. Thank you for the chance to review this book!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book (from NetGalley). All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Holy crap!!! WOW! THIS IS A MUST READ. From the first page to the last--I was addicted. I read it in one sitting. I totally sympathized with Joe, who was a bit of a naive, doormat type, and NEEDED to know what happened in his life. I felt that the behavior of the "liar" was so unbelievably true to reality. Filled with anticipation and expectations, I was certainly not disappointed by the unforseen twists. I absolutely LOVED this book. Thank you, T.M. Logan and NetGalley!

This book has me totally guessing to the end.! I devoured it! I told my nonreading husband that he has to get the audio when it comes out! If you like thrillers, this one is fo you!

This book was the perfect type of thriller - I thought up many theories on what was happening as I read it but the ending was none of those I'd expected. Following along as the narrator tries to solve a mystery that involves him more than he realizes was quite the ride and will keep you guessing.
Thanks to the publisher for providing this ebook as an ARC through Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.

Right from the start, “Lies” takes off at a fast clip, instantly pulling you into the story. Author T. M. Logan makes it easy to identify with the main character, Joe Lynch, and I found myself at his side as his world swiftly crashed all around him.
The characters are believable (for the most part…more on that later), heavily supported by the easy flow of the dialogue and the constant examination of everything via Joe’s thoughts. As each domino falls and Joe finds himself deeper and deeper in trouble, he must examine the world around him and search for answers. The larger issue, who can he trust and when, weaves itself in and out of the story. Every new revelation seems true, and might be true, but Joe can never be sure. As his support system of friends and family begins to fail and with the police considering him a prime suspect in a homicide, Joe must do his best to weed out the deceptions and discover the truth before it is too late.
Other characters are developed enough to give them life, thus helping to continually move the story forward. Even when the story slows a couple times in the middle, the dialogue is always pushing everything, and it is easy to feel the tension lurking underneath.
The only issue I had with the story was the inconsistency of one of the characters. There were a few instances when I felt this character didn’t react as I expected, based upon previous actions and descriptions in the story. Where I felt the author performed best was the intricate plot. Everything tied up neatly at the end and made sense, including the unexpected twist.
This is an extremely well-constructed tale that puts you on the edge of your seat and keeps you up until all hours of the morning. While Joe Lynch is not the strongest main character you will ever accompany, I felt he was a good presentation of “everyman,” thus making it easier for me to empathize with his experiences. Good writing, realistic dialogue, and a convincing plot. Four-and-a-half stars.
My thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for a complimentary copy of this book.

I love this book! I could not put it down! Omg Joe’s seemingly perfect life comes crashing down on him in an instant. He sees something he shouldn’t and does something he shouldn’t and it’s all downhill from here! He’s an amazing dad and devoted husband. I really think readers should go into this blind! I did figure out the ending but it didn’t keep me from reading! I was completely enthralled and started and finished this in a day! I just had to know what was going to happen to Joe!

A marvelous thriller and my first T.M. Logan novel and I can’t wait to read more by this author. I was captured into the story in the first chapter. I thought I knew what was going to happen to Joe Lynch but boy was I wrong. Makes you wonder what lies have been told to you.

Lies by T.M. Logan got me from the very first chapter. Makes you question how well you know someone. Just when I thought I had everything figured out, he brought in an extra twist. Great book. I would highly recommend to friends. Thank you NetGalley

What if your whole life was nothing but lies. It seems that Joe Lynch and his wife have been living with lies for a long time. Joe and his son, William, are driving home when his son spots his mother’s car. William wants to say hello to his mother so Joe follows her to surprise her.
Things escalate from there when Joe sees his wife having what appears to be an argument with Ben Delaney. When Ben exits into the parking lot he and Joe get into a physical fight. Joe leaves Ben hurt on the ground because at the same moment William experiences an asthma attack and Joe leaves to get his inhaler. Upon returning, Joe finds that Ben is gone along with Joe’s cell phone that he dropped during the fight.
This incident is the beginning of the lies. Following this event, Joe finds that he is embroiled in a tangle of falsehoods that seem to have no end. He thought he and Melissa had a good marriage but he finds that to be a lie as well. Technology even finds a place in perpetuating the lies as Joe finds himself continuously outsmarted by messages that come both by phone and on the computer.
The book takes an ordinary guy and puts him in a bad situation. He acts on impulse and gets himself in trouble. And because he really cares about his family he puts himself into jeopardy multiple times.
This mystery thriller grabs you from the beginning because your need to discover the truth will keep you reading. Every time you think you have solved a piece of the puzzle you find that another piece is in the wrong place.
The novel also brings awareness to how vulnerable we are to social media. The author integrates technology into the plot to show that what others and we deem to share on the internet could become our undoing.
The book leaves the reader guessing until the final pages. The ending was totally unexpected with quite a plot twist making it a book I would recommend you put on your reading list.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC of this book.

I was excited to have the opportunity to obtain an Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) of this book on NetGalley.
Nothing makes school teacher Joe happier than the life he’s built with his young son, William, and his wife of ten years, Melissa. Until one day William spots his mummy’s car and Joe is compelled to follow. The violent confrontation that occurs as a result of Joe’s spur-of-the-minute choice has ramifications that have him desperate to clear his name and questioning every piece of his perfect life.
The thing I like most about this story is how the author uses social media and technology to add layers to the mystery, to implicate Joe, and to make the reader wonder whether or not Joe, the quintessential likable protagonist, is himself a liar. As he gets in deeper and deeper trouble, his desperation forces him to make choices that are in opposition to his character. Yet always, his number one instinct is to protect his child.
The author kept me guessing until the big reveal at the end. The short chapters effectively kept the pacing quick and held my interest. The UK setting gave the book an exotic feel.
LIES shows how easily people can be manipulated by social media and technology, turning lies into what appear to be truths. Joe’s the kind of protagonist a reader can’t help to root for even when his actions are called into question.

Lies by T.M. Logan was everything I needed this book to be. Superb pacing, tense, and suspenseful. Joe, is a great guy, an English teacher, married to the love of his life Melissa and together they have a a 4 year old son. It is during a car ride with his son that he sees what he thinks is his wife’s car. At his son’s request they decide to follow Mel and surprise her. But when they arrive at their destination Joe is the one who is surprised. Why has his wife gone to a hotel? Following the trail and breadcrumbs which Mel so skillfully scatters for him leads Joe on a harrowing journey where he can’t trust anyone or anything. Thoroughly enjoyable and a satisfying read from start to finish. Thank you to netgalley for my arc.

WHAT IF YOUR WHOLE LIFE WAS BASED ON LIES?
What if you have the perfect life, the perfect wife and the perfect child, and then in one moment everything changes and your whole life is based on lies? This is what happened to Joe Lynch the main character. Joe is such a likeable character and could be any one of us. This is a book that I could not put down. This psychological thriller is a real page turner ! This book took me on a roller coaster ride. The people in this book could be your neighbors.
I read this book in 1.5 days because I just couldn't put it down. There was so much suspicion, half-truths and deception it was hard to know what would happen next. The ending was fabulous!
This does NOT reveal any spoilers, but a quote that really rang true to me at the end of the book regarding social media and our societies addiction to our phones:
"I feel calmer, clearer, more focused on what's important. I've avoided social media completely...gone cold turkey on my generation's compulsion to share every event, every emotion, every success, every random thought, every half-funny conversation. Because it's not the photographing and sharing and broadcasting that makes something what it is. It's the doing. The being. The experience of it."
We all could learn from Joe Lynch. Thank you T.M. Logan for a great book that I will not soon forget.

I received a free ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an impartial review.
Lies portrays a marriage gone awry. Joe is madly in love with his wife, Mel, and their son, Will, is the center of his universe. Joe is a teacher content with a lack of advancement as he takes on the brunt of the childcare while his wife has a demanding time-consuming job. In reality, he has little idea of what is going on. When suddenly faced with potential arrest, Joe must determine the truth of what his marriage has become.
Characters in this mystery spend a tremendous amount of time on Facebook, a social media platform that I have never cared for. It appears as if characters need their phones to advance or explain relationships. Inevitably, out-of-context messages and pictures come together to expose a truth that Joe really doesn't want to know.

I would definitely read more of Logan's books. This was a quick read that kept my interest throughout. I did not see the twist until very close to the end, which is always a nice surprise. I found the plot unfeasible at times but once I got to the resolution, it all came together and made sense, which makes for a very satisfying read.
I'd recommend this for fans of Shari Lapena and B.A. Paris.

It may be that I'm just maxed out on thrillers lately, but I found this one so ho-hum that I probably only read about one in ten sentences, skimming madly just to see how it ended. So much of the book seemed to consist of the protagonist mulling over the implications of every incident, who done it, how it might look to others, and how he felt about it.
A quick light read, but nothing memorable.
