One House is a board book by Sarah MacNeill that is currently scheduled for release on September 25 2018. Crabs with clipboards and bears who build are some of the animals who come together to build a new home for their friend. Plans are drafted, holes are dug, and construction begins!

One House is a rhyming board book with counting and bright, bold illustrations to hold the attention of the youngest readers. The illustrations are fun, with a hidden heart on each page. Not only does it reinforce counting skills, but it only touches on friendship and helping each other or working with friends toward a common goal. A sweet, bright board book that might be just the right choice for sharing with your youngest book lovers.

This is a cute counting board book for toddlers. I read this to my granddaughter who is just counting to 10. She loved the cute animals that were making the house and we counted the animals together. She also learned the names of new animals. A cute book for little ones and board books are always a great addition to a library for infants and toddlers. One for any family library with young kids.

AHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhh. I want this book for my collection. It is a simple counting book, but it rhymes so sweetly, and the illustrations are gorgeous! A lovely book to give or receive. Plus I really want to see some snails drive some nails.

This board book should be a great addition to a young child's library. A variety of animals work together to build a house for their friend. It is interactive which will keep the kids busy. And at the end of the book, the child is asked if he/she found the heart on each page, which will no doubt call for reading the book again. One of the better board books I've read.

Review of One House by Sarah McNeil

I would first like to say thank you to NetGalley for allowing me to preview this title.

This is an excellent picture book filled with an array of animals, working together to build a house. The animals include toucans, moles, crabs and many more.

This is a great book that introduces new concepts such as counting backwards and new vocabulary words like slabs, towels and slats. They will also learn sayings like "driving nails".

I would definitely use this book during my work day. It would make the perfect book for a preschool storytime that focuses on numbers. I also think they would make me read it again after the surprise ending.

This sweet book features a menagerie of critters busy constructing a fine new home for their dear friend mouse. They design, dig, and designate different aspects of the building project to those with the skills to get the job done perfectly.

Eight crabs pour slabs, seven owls use trowels, five snails drive nails, three foxes move boxes and two bees cut keys, just to name a few. As you probably already guessed this fun counting book is written in rhyme.

Kids will love the board book format and the hustle and bustle of the team as they generously give of their time and talent to bless their friend. The animal workers are focused and expertly get the job accomplished. Ta! Da!

The author adds an unexpected surprise at the end of the book...

"Psst.. did you find the heart hidden on each page?" 💜

This announcement sends the kids back to page one to browse through the book once again making the book interactive as well.

The illustrations are adorable pulling the wee reader into the action. I am positive that this book will be a winner and Storywraps gives it her full endorsement.

This children’s book is perfect for those that like bright colors, animals, or anything to do with building. The author uses assonance, consonance, and rhyming to bring a lovely story to life about working together to build for another. Combining beautiful illustrations with what appears to be graphing paper, the pages tell a story in brief but clear language, again, about collaboration to help another. I feel this book brings out positive qualities for kids and the illustrations are adorable.
