I have a love/hate relationship with CliFi. Done well, it can be amazing, but very few people do it well. Bethell is one of this people. The premise reminds me of The Water Knife mixed with The Iron Giant and the result is spectacular. Kids and adults will enjoy this one.

A quiet, character-driven coming-of-age story. The premise was unique, but I felt that this might be one of those titles that adults think children should read, but doesn't have mass appeal.
