So this book was actually different then I thought it would be. I thought it would be more about thinking with a poverty mindset with spiritual gifts. That is not the case. This book really talks about how God does want to bless us with physical gifts as well.

Kris did a great job explaining somethings I had a weak understanding of in the past. His personal stories add a touch I appreciate that kept me engaged.

Even though this wasn’t what I expected I still enjoyed the book very much.

There are many statements in this book with which I can't agree, It seems scripture is twisted a bit, to fit the author's theology.

Kris unpacks the issues of poverty, riches, and wealth masterfully. I feel like I walk away from reading this book with a greater understanding of these concepts and an even greater understanding of myself. I know without a shadow of a doubt that I will return to Poverty, Riches, & Wealth. It will have a permanent place on my bookshelf and I highly recommend that you read it and make a permanent place for it on your bookshelf. Give a copy to your friends, to your family, to your boss. You won't regret it.

I have to admit from the outset, I entered into this reading with the presupposition “this book will be health and wealth, prosperity gospel, name it and claim it theology with no applicable content.” And I am so glad I was wrong.

Kris Vallotton (whom I respect as a teacher and preacher, please don’t miss that), has given us an offering of how the Kingdom fo God, one of incredible wealth and prosperity (matter of the heart and spirit), differs from the kingdom of man, which centres on riches and poverty (possession and bank account). While there are some moments I didn’t fully agree with the content, Kris conveyed his displeasure with the selfish attitude of those who claim prosperity gospel, spoke against name it and claim it greed and separated himself from health and wealth (yes these are basically the same thing).

The biblical truth brought out, the masterful exegesis of specific passages and the heart of a man who desires that all people understand the difference in Kingdom riches versus riches were all very strongly displayed.

I found myself convicted at times because of the poverty mindset I have had. I also discovered the truth, you can enjoy the good things God gives you. The warning is to not be set on the possession (rich young ruler) but to be concerned with God’s heart in every matter over every item. I know many will find this book contentious, and may not see the truth in the pages, but I encourage you to read with an open mind and heart. There is some solid truth in here and applicable teaching.
