I love Shari's books but this one was a bit slower than her usual. Liv and Nate are married and comfortable with each other, one day they decide they want more out of life so they split up. What follows is numerous times they meet and Liv spends pages working out of if she still fancies Nate. They both have different relationships which all end up entwined as Liv doesn't know who she wants. An ok story but a bit hard to get into.

The brief synopsis of this book was enough to get me interested and when I started to read it I was hooked from the very first page.
Have you ever wondered what would happened if you had made different decisions in your life and how they would have impacted on the choices you had made?

Liv is a palliative care nurse and has been with her husband Nate since University. She has a group of very good friends, Chloe, Sasha and Justin. On the eve of the millennium she is tasked with a decision should she stay with Nate in her comfortable but boring life and make a go of it or leave and find some excitement while she is still young enough.

The book explores both choices - the first half is about what would happen if she decided to leave Nate and the second if she stuck with him. I thought the book was very well written and especially liked how both scenarios were reflected in the key dates referred to in both halves of the book.

All in all I thoroughly enjoyed this book and absolutely adored the characters. I know I am now going to have a book hangover and will miss Liv and her friends dearly.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced read copy of the book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

I loved this book and really enjoyed it and how one decision can change your life going forward.

For me it was great holiday read while lying on the beach. I would recommend.

If I could give this book three and a half stars I would.
I really enjoyed it, it’s a well written summer read told in two halves, Liv’s marriage is going stale and she decides to end it but wavers at the last. I use, the plot follows the premise of what would happen if she left or if she stayed.
I loved the first half of the story but the second part was slightly less enjoyable as it retold some of the same lines in the first half, all in all though, a solid, humourous and sometimes sad book, well worth a read.

Three and a half star rating.
A book with two distinct parts - leave or stay. Should Liv and Nate stay together or not. I loved the first half (Without You) but not so much With You as quite a lot was what had already happened. It might have been nice to hear Nate's point of view seeing as it was his marriage too! A great group of friends, lots of comical bits and of course some sad times too. Interesting, engaging chicklit. Makes you ponder on your own decisions too. Definitely one to take away on holiday.

This book shows several couples, and the decisions they make affect all of them. Nate is married to Liv, but she feels their relationship is stale and on Millenium New Year decides to end it. The following years are tough, shown by weddings, and birthdays and other significant events. Liv's
mother, Ida, is a born show-off, and usually turns up to those events and insists on singing!
The second half of the book shows the same events, but with Liv and Nate still together, and having a baby,Finn.
Their friend Justin is rapidly turning into an alcoholic, and Nate tries to support him, and his girlfriend Sasha.
The characters in this book are well rounded and believable, and the plot moves at a pace. Setting a lot of the book in hospital, helps to show you how the characters have been formed, and how dedicated Liv is to her job.
This book is fresh, modern and the characters make you want to know what happens next.

WOW I just loved this book. It’s like Sliding Doors but better! Skilfully handled and brilliantly plotted so that both stories intertwine but never become predictable. What a great concept, beautifully executed. I’ll be sure to look out for this very talented author in the future.

Liv and Nate were together all through uni, got married when they graduated and thought that they were forever soulmates..... but 6 years later the passion has gone and they are more brother and sister! They decided to split just before the millennium..... but have they made the right decision? In a sliding doors type scenario we follow their lives in two stories as if they had split and if they had stayed together.... so which was the right choice?

Another very enjoyable book by this author, it was a great concept and written well, both stories worked well and will make a lovely summer read

I really loved the concept behind this book. I used to love those books that I read as a child where you got to decide what happened at a particular point in the story, and there were different endings, depending on what you chose.

Shari Low gives us two possible outcomes, depending on the decision made by Liv and Nate about whether to stay together or not. I loved seeing the parallels and the differences between the two stories. We often talk about being in the wrong or right place at the right time, and we see it here, how other’s lives are affected by our actions.

Apart from this interesting element to the book, it’s also an excellent story. The characters are very well drawn. We move through their lives, through milestone birthdays, weddings, births and tragedy. Their lives intersect and their friendships and relationships grow and change.

An absorbing, readable book, which takes the reader through all the emotions. I really enjoyed it. Highly recommended.

I liked the idea behind this book. Liv and Nate decide to split up after a number of years of marriage. But can they be certain that they've made the right decision? The first part of the book follows their story after they've split, and the second part tells us a different story, one in which they decide to stay together. It's a good read, although it doesn't quite work as a 'sliding doors' scenario. Thanks to NetGalley for a preview copy.

Throughly enjoyed this book and would recommend it wholeheartedly as a great holiday read. The characters are very believable, there is humour and poignancy in the story and I really liked the way in which 2 endings were written into the book. So many times I have read something and thought...but what if....well this novel answered the quandary. Excellent.

A heartwarming story giving two alternate stories which result after one decision....should liv stay in a unhappy marriage ?! A lovely story with loveable characters and a good premise!

This is a wonderfully funny book, full of great characters and situations. It is also the sort of story that stays with you, and you ponder the decisions and outcomes of actions in your own life and how different it would be if you had said 'yes' or 'no'.... A feel good book, perfect for the Summer.

Loved it. A perfect read for a holiday. The book is split into two perspectives, it is a clever, funny, sad and heartfelt book. Makes one realise how that one decision can have such an impact on our lives. Definitely recommended.

Shari Low is back with With or Without You, a funny, sharp, bittersweet and believable tale about what might have been that I absolutely loved. Poignant, hilarious and thought-provoking, With or Without You is another winner for Shari Low.

Liv and Nate had truly believed that they were soulmates. When they had decided to get married, they thought that they were going to spend the rest of their lives together living a life of domestic bliss where all of their dreams would come true. Their love was going to last forever and nothing and nobody was going to come between them. However, Liv and Nate soon learned that reality was far removed from fantasy. The honeymoon phase was short-lived and passion and romance quickly give way to routine and boredom. After six years together, Liv and Nate were still the best of friends, but that initial spark and fire had waned and the only thing keeping them together was a familiarity that had absolutely nothing to do with passion. Splitting up seemed to be the most logical and sensible option. After all, how can you keep a marriage going without excitement, lust and love?

As 1999 drew to a close and a new millennium beckoned, Liv and Nate had decided to go their separate ways and to try and find happiness and fulfillment elsewhere. But just when they are about to call it quits once and for all, Liv wavers and changes her mind. Should she take a leap of faith and try her luck elsewhere with somebody else? Or has she been too hasty and should try and make a go of her marriage with Nate? After all, there is absolutely no guarantee that she would be happier with somebody else? But then again, could true happiness be found with a perfect stranger who is waiting to sweep her off her feet?

What was the right choice for Liv? Over the course of twenty years, Liv wonders whether she was right to stick to the vows she had made to Nat… or whether she was better off making a fresh start elsewhere?

With or Without You is a top-notch read from Shari Low! Exploring the parallel stories of whether Liv stayed behind to work on her marriage or whether she sought pastures new elsewhere, With or Without You is a clever exploration of marriage, relationships and the ties that bind written with a light touch that will make you laugh, cry and ponder about the choices that we make and the strange paths that life takes us down sometimes.

Cleverly written and guaranteed to strike a chord with women everywhere, With or Without You is women’s fiction at its most innovative best. If you have never discovered Shari Low’s brilliant books, then what on earth are you waiting for?

With or Without You was a great read.
It focuses on what might have happened in life if we’d taken a different path. Are our lives mapped out for us or can we change the outcome by making different decisions?
A great holiday read.

I have to say that the synopsis of this book intrigued me somewhat. It was certainly different to books that I have read before. I needn’t have worried because I really did enjoy this book but more about that in a bit.
One of the main characters in this book is called Liv, who is married to Nate. She is a strong, feisty, compassionate and determined young woman. She is a nurse, who works on the palliative care ward. It takes a special kind of someone to work on a ward such as that. I certainly couldn’t do it as I would find it too upsetting. Anyway back to the review I do go. When Liv and Nate got together they were passionate, they loved each other dearly, they had fun and they led an exciting life. However their relationship no longer has that passion or fun. Liv and Nate are living rather boring lives at the moment and their relationship is more like a brother/ sister relationship than how you might expect a married couple to behave. Liv is seriously thinking of leaving Nate and this book shows what happens when she makes two different decisions about the same situation. Each decision leads to two very different outcomes. It is as if Liv is living two parallel lives at the same time- a bit like the film ‘Sliding Doors’.
I became hooked on this book from the moment I read the synopsis. I was intrigued to see how the book developed because I thought that I would end up getting confused (it doesn’t take much to confuse me) about which of Liv’s lives I was reading about. I needn’t have worried because the book was really well written and constructed and the different strands of the story flowed seamlessly. I found reading ‘With Or Without You’ became seriously addictive. The page numbers and the time flew past in a blur and before I knew what was happening I had cleared about a third of the book and a couple of hours had sailed past. I just had to read on and on to see what happened to Liv and to see how two different decisions about the same situation impacted on her life.
I found the characters to be varied and diverse. I just loved the tight friendship circle that both Liv and Nate had around them. There were new friendships, there were old friendships- some of them developed into something more. The first part of the story saw the different characters remain good friends even after their relationships had broken up, which is a mature way to behave. There were certain characters that I wanted to slap with a wet fish and there were other characters that just needed a cold shower!! The different characters were closer to each other than to their blood relatives. It just goes to show that the concept of family doesn’t always have to do with blood connections but it is more often about the people who you choose to surround yourself with. That sounds rather deep for me but it’s the way I like to think about my own friends or relatives.
I really did enjoy reading this book and I would definitely recommend it to other readers. I can’t wait to read more from Shari Low. The score on the Ginger Book Geek board is a well deserved 4* out of 5*.

A good read for lovers of One Day. It is the turn of the 21st century and Liv and Nate and their group of friends fall in love, part, marry and divorce. In Liv and Nate's case the first story line follows them breaking up and in the second they stay together. The characters are all interesting but this wasn't a page turner for me and I lost interest in the outcome. I'm sure many other readers will find it enjoyable though. Thanks to NetGalley and Aria for the opportunity to read and review With or Without You.

This is a story that follows a group of friends through good times and bad times and demonstrates how seemingly small choices have have a profound affect of the lives around them. This isn't my typical genre but I must admit I absolutely loved it, I connected really well with the charectors and enjoyed the story from both prospectives.I laughed and cried my way through it and this book is one I will remember and reccomend.

I really really enjoyed this book! I liked the fact that you got to see both perspectives. Will she be ok without him, will she be unhappy if she stays with him. The best part was the ending and the fact that in both scenarios they still pretty much ended the same and everyone was where they were supposed to be.

This was a well thought out and well devised book. Although there are some repetitions, there isn’t that many and if there is a repetition there are some changes.

This had me hooked from the start and I just couldn’t seem to put it down as you really want to know how both scenarios will end and what will happen. I’m giving this book a 4/5. This book had me laughing out loud and also shedding tears. A truly beautiful heartwarming read.
