This book gets all the stars....it's definitely on my top 10 list!! Lily White just devastated me! But half the time I was reading, my mind was spinning in 10 different directions, wondering what was going on, who, how?? It had a few of the best WTF moments I've experienced! There's not much I can say without giving spoilers, and you need to experience this book spoiler free! It was an absolutely amazing story, I can't recommend it enough!

Disclaimer: Please keep all and every expectation away from this book. Every stereotype you might have had; after reading the blurb, you might have had some thoughts, some doubts and some assumptions. Before you go forward; trust me, throw them away. Everything is wrong, everything is distorted and you will have the time of your life; and nothing will ever be the same again!

Do I even need to write a review after that disclaimer?

Yes? Well. Okay.

This is my first book by Lily White. And, I. AM. SPEECHLESS. I completed this book in the middle of the night, and I was gobsmacked with everything that this book actually gave me!

The plot starts off with a bet; a bet that had me disgusted and absolutely hating the characters involved; and yet I couldn’t stop myself from going forward with reading the book – and the next thing I knew I was on a roller coaster ride of a myriad of feelings, from loathing to confusion to joy to bittersweet to heartbreak to wonderment – to the way the author took the story from one circumstance to the other.

The ending, though, the ending was absolutely perfect to this story; I didn’t realise how much I needed this ending till the author actually gave it to me; and honestly by the end I almost had tears of gratitude to the author for giving me this beauty!

I adored this book, especially because of the plot – it was unique wonderment and it says a whole lot about the author that she could produce something so beautifully distinct that had me putting this on my list of TOP FAVOURITES of 2018!

My favorite read of 2018!
Hauntingly seductive and totally captivating read!
Flawless writing this insanely provocative suspenseful thriller unfolded slowly and methodically! As the story develops and you begin to know the characters, you start questioning who’s who and what motivates people have to do certain things out of love.
The complex and complicated characters affirm the lesson that things aren’t always what they appear. Vincent, Maurice, Meadow and Penelope’s complicated story teaches us the heartbreaking consequences stemming out of fear.
Another stellar read by an author that dares to push the envelope and give us thought provoking stories with enough subliminal messages that have us thinking about the story way after we’re finished!
This author is certainly a grand wizard at pulling at our emotions and make us think!

Just when I think Lily White can't top her last book, the newest one comes along and blows me away. Her writing and stories just keep getting better and better.
I love a book that I can't figure out and Wishing Well kept me guessing throughout. The twists are incredible. My mouth was left hanging open more then once and I may have yelled out loud a couple times.
The plot is rich with mystery and the characters diverse and multi-layered. I am having trouble moving on to a new book because I just don't want to let go yet.
Honestly, if I could give this book 10 stars I could. I would love a sequel or prequel just because I feel like there is so much more to be discovered.
Lily White is an author to put on your must read list if you haven't already. She creates masterpieces with words worthy of any bestseller list.

HOLY MOTHERLOAD OF TWISTS!!

~ All good things come to those who wait.~

BAM!!! Lily White has done it again. I haven’t had my mind manipulated like that in ages! She is the Monarch of mind fucks!! This is one psych trip you don’t want to miss! Wishing Well truly deserves more than the 5 star status that is allowed.

Like any good tale you cannot rush a Lily White story, so you just buckle in and allow the tale to flow through effortlessly guiding you along, building up the momentum to reach a pinnacle of multiple explosions that detonate the whole story! The way she can skillfully influence the reader’s mind is stupefying! It showcases her aptitude and excellence as an author. I can always trust and look forward to Ms. White's ability to engulf me with her genius!

I think this is White’s best book to date and that's saying something as all her work is top rate. The characters so intriguing and spellbinding, effortlessly drawing you in and connecting to your emotions.

Vincent Mercier is quite possibly my favorite all time character. A sensual sexually motivated man, he is arrogant and selfish, a deceiving dark horse. An afflicted soul with a veneer of an egotistical, pompous elitist.

Racing against his final judgement day, Meadow is granted an audience with the death row inmate who holds the answers to how her sister died. The game that ensues between the two, to see who can best the other, is a cross between a strategic game of chess and an elaborate game of cat and mouse. Secrets are traded tit for tat that unveil a tale of love, deceit, and murder.

If you like psychological reads, Lily White is the author for you to follow fervently! I have her on speed dial on my kindle and get absolutely giddy when I hear of a new release from her.

~The perfect timing of fairy tales are intricately tied to the happy ending. However, in this particular fable - although there is a prince, there is a maiden, there is a villain, there is a kiss, and there is a sunset - the perfect timing is tied to it’s tragedy.~

Wishing Well by Lily White was twisted AF!! My mind was blown on several occasions. I would be reading on my lunch at work and would just start talking to myself....like...."What the hell!" My co-workers would laugh and say...."That good huh?" YEP!!! I liked that the story is written in alternate POV....it really let me get into each characters mind!! It was so suspenseful and full of Dark....Twisty....Romance!!

Lily White you get 5 MF-ing stars girl! ☆☆☆☆☆ Keep 'em coming!

Lily has easily become a go to author. This. Book. I can't even!!

Gut wrenching, heartwarming edge of your seat story and you will need tissues!

I went into the world of Holden and the way Lily writes it just sucked me in and I felt like I was there. My heart hurt for him. I felt so many emotions reading this book literally down to my gut. But, love comes and heals. Michaela and Holden's love is like no other. I ended up loving Michaela and was cheering her on. This is so much more than a Contemporary Romance to me. This book is everything I look for when seeking out books. I need depth and suspense and real-ness. Crazy Madly Deeply delivers ten fold!

"It's too late for me to love you. It's too late to admit I was wrong. It's too late to tell you how wonderful you are despite everything this town has done."

"That's what large people do. They're so big and so deep and so wonderful that grudges and resentment and anything deemed ugly are crushed beneath the weight of their virtue" (this right here is amazing literature)

"If you truly love someone, you feel them in every cell of your body."

Lily your words are amazing!!

Wishing Well by Lily White is an amazing epic mindfuck. I absolutely FLOVED it! It is a psychological, suspenseful thriller. A dark, twisted romance that only author Lily White could write. Totally blew me away.

I loved all the characters and how they interacted. Vincent is sexy, in control, dominant and perfectly alpha. He has secrets, secrets that he is willing to share, but for a price. He is cunning and manipulative. Meadow is smart, beautiful and seeking answers only Vincent can give, but she has secrets of her own. A fantastic battle of wills. A race to see who can outsmart the other before their time is up. My anxiety level as I read was off the charts. It is a crazy roller coaster ride filled with highs and lows, secrets and lies.

Wishing Well had me at the edge of my seat. It is captivating, intriguing, and compelling. I could not put it down. It has undertones reminiscent of Beauty and the Beast but as only Lily White could tell it.

The pacing is perfect. The story unfolds in the present with flashbacks to the past in alternating POV, which I love because it allows me to delve inside the minds of both our main characters. It also gives me insight into the characters and their motivation. I become privy to information the other characters may not know yet. Author Lily White had me coming up with theories like crazy, and proving me wrong time and time again. I love when that happens. You think you know, but you don’t, and when you do, mind blown. Timing is everything has never been truer. Highly recommend. MUST read. One of the best books I’ve read in a while.

The perfect timing of a fairy tale is tied to its tragedy… Journalist, Meadow Graham, is invited to interview death row inmate, Vincent Mercier. Given three days to hear his sordid

“You don’t know fear until you’ve traipsed through darkness. You don’t know desolation until you've been tossed to the wolves. You don’t know pain until you’re shown just how disposable you are".

WOW!!!!! Yea that word sums up everything that I’m feeling at this very moment. What did I get myself into? What is this pain that I’m feeling in the middle of my chest?! I’m praying that it’s heartburn right now and eventually, it’s going to go away because I do NOT like this feeling! This story was the ultimate definition of bittersweet and let me tell you, both sides will do you in. You think you’re ready for how this is going to end but in truth, you’re not.

Journalist Meadow Graham has been granted an exclusive interview death row inmate Vincent Mercier. Seven years ago, not only was her entire world turned upside down with the murder of her sister, Meadow now has to come face to face with the man who took her life. For the next seventy two hours, truth, lies and betrayal will become the forefront of the untold story of a heartbreaking fairytale in the making.

Be careful what you wish for: that’s a famous saying isn’t It?

“Most women want to believe they can change a man, that there is some magic inside them, some trait, that will make him alter his ways. But people don’t change, not unless they want to.”

Vincent Mercier has never claimed to be a good man. He’s done things for his benefit alone, manipulated women for his own pleasure, and he’s never lost one ounce of sleep from it. Money, power, sexual desire, has always been in the palm of his hand and nothing could make his life more better than to have the one thing that’s unattainable in an elusive plan. But sometimes, life has a way of throwing you the ultimate curveball and when you least expect it, the unthinkable happens.

I really don’t know how to describe what I was feeling throughout this book. This author's writing is simple impeccable and I loved that she took her time with the pacing of the story because it was necessary. We needed to feel every emotion that these characters were going through in the moment slowly and forcefully and this story did that.

I will admit that I guessed a few important bombshells so I didn’t have that element of surprise like most of my blogger friends while reading this one but the last ten percent of this book? BROKE ME!!!! Omg I don’t think my heart will be okay for a long time to come. This sorrow that I’m feeling is certainly bittersweet but I would do it all over again. I would wish for this story all over again.

Meadow Graham was about to face the man who changed her life. As a journalist, she was given an exclusive interview with a killer who murdered her own sister. Armed with a secret, was not going to waste the opportunity to find closure.

Vincent Mercier was a successful businessman until he was touted as a monster. With three days left until he faced execution, he was determined to enjoy every single second he had left. But what both of them didn't know was each of them held something that would change everything.

I love books that made me feel myriad of emotions and this book made me want to stab someone, laugh my butt off and bawl my eyes out. Yes, sounds exhausting but totally worth it.

Throughout the book I kept coming up with theories of what's going on. I absolutely enjoy it when a story challenged me as a reader.

I love and hate the characters with each one due to their own individual reasons. Sex was not a high focus in the story but they were the kind of scenes that made me hot and bothered.

Wishing Well is a tale of submission and deception. It would appeal to readers looking for an engaging psychological thriller.

Lily White, where do you come up with these brilliant stories?

Lily White is one of those authors you don't even have to read the blurb for any of her books to know it's going to be good. Maybe I should've said brilliant, because Wishing Well is one of my top reads this year. Talk about on the edge of your seat...the suspense, the emotion, the words poured onto the pages. It's twisted yet so dang good. Lily White should definitely be commended for the approach she put in to this fairy-tale type story. Nothing less than five stars!!

I love when authors branch out and try something different. Lily White did just that with Wishing Well. Vincent is not a normal character, but his complexity makes him one of my favorite that Lily has ever created. Everything about this twisted, complex tale is mind-blowing. From Vincent's brother, Maurice, to Meadow and her search for answers for her twin, Penny. And because the story was written in multiple POVs, I think took the story to a whole new level, a whole new understanding had we just known from one perspective.

I can't say enough good things about this story without giving too much away. Trust your instincts on this one and just dive in. Bite your nails and stick it out til the end--it's totally worth it. The originality is a huge plus for me, too. I love when authors take a different approach and this one is a real winner.

Meadow Graham is a journalist who interviews the one man who holds answers to her sister’s death. While the clock ticks away, Meadow is ready to make him pay for his choices.

Vincent Mercier is a successful hotelier and with such resources he is able to satisfy his particular needs. Always in control, he’s able to create a certain world where he pulls all the strings. But with three days remaining before his execution, Vincent is ready to tell all.

Told in shifting point of views and past/present timelines, what ensues is a tightly constructed plot full of twists and a steady crescendo of suspense. From the beginning, Vincent’s wicked motivations are crystal clear and the anticipation of reading how it will all unfold is enthralling. With Vincent being devastatingly handsome and devilishly charming, he easily ensnares the players in his game.

Aside from Vincent, the other main characters are just as crucial in this storyline and offer additional impact. Meadow’s role is one that offers contradictory feelings at times and enhances the question of how she will avenge her sister.

This book is exactly what I love about thrillers and Lily White’s writing because while I was racing to get to the end, I kept slowing down to savor every page. Each character is compelling and elicits a range of emotion as the storyline pivots in a calculated direction. Trying to speculate the trajectory of this plot was refreshingly impossible and I loved it!

Wishing Well is a psychological thriller at its finest. This book would appeal to those who want to be completely ensconced in deception and the relationship between sacrifice and tragedy. I highly recommend!

Wishing Well was an amazing read. This book was EVERYTHING! It is one of those books that you must experience for yourself. I had read the blurb and thought I knew how things would go but I was not prepared for the twists and turns that were coming my way. Wishing Well is a fairytale/ fable of sorts. You learn that things aren’t always what them seem and that timing really is everything.

The characters were mesmerizing. Penny was a strong female lead but life had dealt her a bad hand. Then along came Vincent with a proposition to help with her situation. Vincent was a pretty despicable character. He did things with only his needs in mind. He was wealthy and other people’s lives were something of a game to him. There are other characters who were also a big part of this story but mentioning them might spoil the story but I will say that they were perfectly written and their appearance in the story added so much.

Wishing Well was so well written and I simply could not stop. I finished this book at around 2:00am and was a complete wreck. That ending left my head spinning and making this one of my top reads so far this year. If you like suspense filled romances I highly recommend you read this book. I cannot wait to see what’s next.

Just when I think there is no way to top her last book Lily does it again! So many twist and turns, so many emotions. This story puts your heart through the wringer!

What a beautifully twisted story this was!

When you start to read you mind goes in just the direction Lily wants you to, just like Vincent played Penny's mind.  The story varies between flashbacks and current day but it flows so smoothly.  The alternate POV's where amazing, it really brought you into the twisted mind of Vincent and the unbreakable spirit of Penny and the chaos that is Meadow's.

Then Lily goes on to do something that rarely happens for me, she makes me fall hard for a character that wasn't meant to be fallen for.  She does it so brilliantly that you don't even see it coming.

And talking about not seeing things coming! This book has surprise after surprise that leaves you actually gasping! (Yes I totally gasped at certain parts, freaking my family out!) I will not do the reader a disservice by spoiling anything but I promise that once you finish this story, you will go back and read it again immediately with a fresh set of eyes and mindset!

Yet again Lily is in the running to be on my Fave Books of 2018!  She has yet to write something that hasn't totally consumed me!

Your stories are amazing!  Please don't ever stop writing! I can't wait to devour what comes next!

This is probably the best Lily White story that I have read and I have read and loved a lot of her books.
Penelope is our opening character in this story and she meets Vincent by fate. They build a relationship that is cruel, chaotoc and unkind. Vincent is a horrible man using Penny for his own sick pleasure. And then enters Maurice who is the beast in this tale. But Penelope and Maurice create their own warped relationship. Then the twists and turns in the book take the reader on an out of control emotional ride.
Lily White you are a master storyteller who grabs the reader quickly and uses words to make the reader feel emotionally and mentally drained.
This book should be made into a movie. It would be a blockbuster!

While I am tempted to rely on a favorite expression of mine after I read then try to review something so wonderfully extraordinary and masterfully written as this book. That expression being “I am lost for words.” Quite the opposite is true. There are so many ideas that this author has woven into this suspenseful, dark, brooding and violent fairytale, I need to keep myself in check and not over-share. I promise you this will be one of your reads of the year if steer clear of spoilers and allow yourself to read this book fully from front to back. I promise you will be thoroughly captivated with each moment as it unfolds. If you get to the end without reading it all, you will have missed the intense afterglow that is found in the whole story.

Naturally, as any thoughtful reader is wont to do, you will find yourself trying to second guess what is happening, what will happen and what has happened. Ms. White cures you fairly quickly of this affliction and by giving this up and giving in, it is then you begin to appreciate the brilliance of this story.

The story begins in a forth-right manner. Meadow, a journalist by profession, has been granted a 72-hour jailhouse interview with the charming millionaire, the deviant and self-absorbed Vincent who has been convicted of the murder of 4 people to include her sister, Penelope (Penny). Meadow is after the entire truth of what happened and why it happened and some sort of accounting or owning up of Vincent for her loss. She has researched Vincent extensively and has had the opportunity to thoroughly read Penelope’s diary in which she wrote of her view of the events leading up to her death. For his part, Vincent wants some truth about Penny from Meadow that she has garnered from reading Penny’s diary. They are locked in a battle of wills…each of them unwilling to show the cards they are holding in their hands.

“…Meadow was left to stare at a devil with the face of an avenging angel. Prison had done nothing to strip him of his masculine, feral beauty. With dark brown hair swept back and dusting his collar, Vincent leaned back in his chair, his shackles jangling against the table. Green eyes studied her, the emerald color glimmering beneath the lights above their heads. His cheekbones were aristocratic, his jaw square and dusted with stubble, and his lips as sultry as she remembered them.”

And so it begins…the story of how Vincent met Meadow’s sister Penny or Penelope as he liked to call her and what she was to him in the beginning and what she ultimately became for him. The story is told in alternating points of view. Meadow relating her dead sister’s experiences as she read them written down in Penny’s diary. We feel the gamesmanship between Meadow and Vincent. We hear how carelessly and callously Vincent took in a lovely dirty homeless girl (Dirty Girl) shivering in the rain and made her reliant upon him for her every basic need and how he manipulated her to become the sex toy he envisioned on a dare from a like-minded Dom who only “played” sexual games with submissives.

"Vincent was a gold medalist in attraction, temptation personified, a weapon of cruel seduction that had been honed until wickedly sharp. It was through desire that he distracted and addled the mind, unrepentant for the cheap use of human instinct."

In an effort ease the discomfort Meadow had over Penny being so haphazardly chosen off the street for a casual bet he tries to lessen the blow for Meadow by saying:

"Every so often, fate has a hand in opportunity. With a flourish of delicate fingers, it swirls the air around your existence, creating temptations that are too great, challenges that appear to be insurmountable. But within those moments when you doubt how simple coincidence could have led you to clear waters when you are thirsty, to a banquet when you starve, to the heat of fire when your bones scream for warmth and your heart beats weakly beneath the ice that encases it, you understand that certain events were meant to be, were written in the stars, were deemed by the Gods to be worthy for your life even before you were a twinkle amongst mankind."

As the interview progresses, more and more of the truth of all that occurred becomes clear with Vincent seemingly to lose his composure at times and Meadow loses her composure at other times. The retelling involves dark intense sex scenes on the edge of violence. Once he seduced Penelope, he tells her:

”I think it’s only fair I warn you that in the bedroom I am a man with particular tastes.”

He tells Meadow how he owned Penny’s soul because she kissed him willingly…she did all willingly.

“…Myths. Legends. Fairytales. They all betray the truth about a person’s lips, that their kiss is the means by which life can be given or taken away. It’s never in the physical act of dominance and decimation, it’s in the submission to whim, the simple caress of one mouth against another, the slide of a tongue, the passion that ignites when two people share that single moment of pure bliss. Even a whore will spread her legs for whatever a customer offers, but she won’t give her mouth to him, only because a person’s secrets, their hopes, their dreams, their heart can be found in a kiss."

Meadow surprises and even saddens Vincent when he tells her that after awhile Penny grew tired of his games and manipulations and set herself free from him emotionally as she wrote in her diary:

"For the first time since coming to Wishing Well, the fly had pulled out her pretty silver scissors and snipped herself free of his tangled web. Damn, it felt good to be a fly."

The idea that this story could ever be referred to as a fairy tale will confuse you and puzzle until the last word is read. However, Vincent reminds Meadow that this is indeed the case.

“The reason I always loved fairytales was because of their perfect timing, despite how unrealistic that timing might be. And this story is a fairytale, I hope you know that.”

And so, I hope that I have given you a taste of our diabolical dark anti-hero Vincent in this fairytale. His fate is inextricably entwined in having met his Penelope. I cannot tell you why, but I will always love Vincent. In fact, he will be forever one of my most favorite and loved dark diabolical Dominants I have ever met. Of course, he is not perfect and yes he was morally bankrupt at times but there is something in him that you will discover that may redeem him in your eyes as well. And I am not referring to his mastery of the sensual seductive arts…although not to lie…it may have a little to do with it.

"And he hadn’t been wrong to say that it was the too perfect timing that had made it possible for the story to end this way. As if fate herself had danced the streets of the city, the sway of her hips causing soft winds to blow and push all the characters into place.
Too perfect, that [beeyatch] we call fate and her timing."

This book has a very odd premiss this book is told by Vincent who is on death row for many crimes including killing Penelope, Meadow who is the twin sister and who was granted rights to tape record Vincent's last few days. He tells her the story of how he won and ultimately the death of Penelope. This story is very unique in its present time with Meadow and Vincent but also you are told of his time with Penelope in great detail from Vincent himself and from a dairy recovered and we get to see in full detail who at the end of the day plays the better game of deception in the end.
This story from the very beginning was something unique and so out of my normal realm of everything I was leary but it really became intricate and the plot just kept on thickening you think you know what the real story is, but you very quickly find out that there is sooo much more to this then meets the eye..

Genre: Psychological Thriller
Type: Standalone
POV: Shifting – Multiple

❝ I will die in three days, but you will live on in your grief… and your hatred… And for that, I will also live on, until the day you take your final breath.❞

Meadow Graham was a journalist who was given an opportunity of a life time. She was about to interview a killer who murdered her twin sister. Meadow had a big secret though and she was planning to use it till the even end.

Vincent Mercier was on death row; he only had three days left to live and he didn’t want to waste any minute of it. Before he was incarcerated he was a very successful man; is own weakness was his brother.

❝ You are my last victim, the woman who will forever mourn the last life I took.❞

Lily’s writing has become something I really look forward to because I’ve found the plots and the stories so unique and addictive. This story in particular managed to give me a bit of ulcer; I honestly was so annoyed by the heroine because of some selfish choices she made that has no justification in my mind. However; I enjoyed how the author left the ending up to readers imagination. Those are the best type in my opinion because i have so many things plotting in my head for her i should feel bad about it but I don’t haha.

❝ You don’t know fear until you’ve traipsed through darkness. You don’t know desolation until you’ve been tossed to the wolves. You don’t know pain until you’re shown just how disposable you are.❞

Wishing Well was an excellent story written so perfectly; loaded with so many feels and emotions. This was freaking awesome!! Dark, edgy, and perfect… Well I had one little complaint but that’s because I’m just not a forgetful type of person so I only just wished it was longer to see the possibility of some painful suffering hahaha lol. Overall; the story was unique and the plot was unexpected and perfectly done. I truly enjoyed this story so much. Readers who enjoy Psychological Thrillers will find this book appealing.
