I am so enjoying cozy mysteries and Nailed (Resort to Murder Mystery) was another fun one! Set in Vail, Colorado, this cozy has a great mystery and lots of action.
Perfect for the upcoming winter months!
Julienne and Porsche are staying at a resort in Vail, Colorado, when a couple of murders happen. On top of all the murders there is a raging blizzard keeping everyone trapped inside. Talk about tension. A good story, and it is book 2 in the series (missed the first one but wasn't lost). Fun and quick read, and would recommend.
A good book. Well written with great characters and a good plot. The storyline flows and the mystery is enjoyable. I highly recommend.,
I read this without reading the first in the series. It can be enjoyed as a stand alone story but I kept wondering about references to some backstory. This is about Julienne who is attending a resort management seminar along with her friend Porsche. The plan is to learn as much as she can and enjoy the beautiful resort. The first night a realtor Kara seems to be making the rounds and irritating everyone she interacts with. No surprise she is the victim and everyone is stranded due to the weather. Story moved along fast and kept me engaged and I need to go back and read the first in the series so I can be ready for the next one!
Great mystery, cant wait for more! I received a copy from NetGalley and this is my honest review. I really enjoyed this book. Snow-bound at a beautiful ski resort, what could possibly go wrong? The story really keeps moving and the twists and turns delighted me. I loved the characters. I will be going back to re-read the first book in the series while keeping an eye out for the ones to come. I really look forward to traveling the world with Julienne.
Nailed: A Resort to Murder Mystery by Avery Daniels is the 2nd book in a new series located in Colorado. I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to reading the next book in the series. I live in Colorado, so I especially enjoy hearing about familiar settings. I found this book to be a quick read, with a well developed plot and characters. If you love fun cozy mysteries, I recommend this book.
I received this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.
NAILED is a fun, exciting follow-up to ICED. The main character in both books of the Resort to Murder Mystery series is Julienne LaMere, a resort management trainee. NAILED can be read as a standalone; you'll just be missing some backstory on Julie's ex-boyfriend Brandon and absentee boyfriend Mason.
I really like Julienne. She's relatable and easy to root for. The relationship between Julie and her BFF Porsche is well-written, and wonderful to read about. The supporting characters (especially Julie's "Baker Street Irregulars") are engaging and believable.
Julie's skill at getting people to talk and her natural curiosity (which she used in ICED) are put to good use in NAILED by the detective investigating the murder of Kara Caine. Det Larson asks Julie to assist the inquiries as an unofficial "quasi-confidential informant and a kinda-consultant." I enjoyed watching Julie sleuth and come up with several plausible suspects for Larson to investigate.
The fast-moving plot made sense, and drew me in from the start. The detailed descriptions of the blizzard made me feel like I was there in Vail with Julie and Porsche. Author Avery Daniels kept me guessing until the end. I am looking forward to the next Resort to Murder Mystery, SPIKED. I'm eager to learn what happens with Julie and a certain someone.
A cozy mystery "whodunit" mystery. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to read this.
EArc recieved from NetGalley & Blazing Sword Publishing.
This book has a a very intriguing premise of mystery, murder and investigation along with sprinkles of the MC personal life.
I found the MC being quite an underwhelmed character throughout the novel, she sure is smart and attentive to her surroundings but she tend s to get mopey quite often.
And that sort of affected the tone of the storytelling as well.
And some of the side characters felt flat and I failed to connect with them.
The setting felt like a Poirot Novel and I found that quite interesting since we have to bump into everyone in order to solve the mystery and all the hows and whys.
The story wrapped quite nicely (although being an avid fan of crime shows, I found it nothing too surprising), we have a satisfying conclusion with room for sequel for the MCs adventures...or rather misadventures.
Mysteries, atleast in novel forms are a hit or miss for me, and this just wasn't my cup of tea.
I loved the premise of this book! Loved the two best friends, Julieanne, and Porsche, the mystery is good! There are some proof reading errors, not the Authors fault. However, the biggest problem I have is, no romance! The Detective develops something with Porsche, no kisses, no nothing!? Julieanne, intelligent, beauty, has no boyfriend? Hopefully, in the next book the Romance may be heating up, and in that case, I will be looking forward to this new series!
I recommend! Thank you! Enjoy

I enjoyed this book, with the summer heat beginning of was nice to read about somewhere cold. The Inn was the perfect setting for a mystery and I highly recommend this book.
Julienne LaMere is off to attend a conference in resort management at a resort at a noted resort in Colorado with her friend Porsche. There is a murder of a disagreeable realtor and a blizzard shuts the roads to the resort. Asked to keep her eyes open by the detective on the case, she starts looking into alibis, But it puts her into peril. Readable cozy, second in the series.
Nailed by Avery Daniels is the second book in the series but can be read as a standalone.
In this installment Julienne is attending conference at the luxurious ski resort in Colorado Springs and she bring her friend along.
Obnoxious and greatly despised guest ends up dead. Julienne is investigating to find out what happened, trying to save her friend from man trouble at the same time trying to resolve her own love problems.
In the beginning I found Julienne a bit cold and stand offish but it later changed. I really liked how she used gossip as a way to collect information and discover the killer.
Nicely paced without the dull moment this is excellent read.
I was surprised, it was an intriguing book. I enjoyed it. I want to read the series! I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys mysteries. It has a twist or two.
Julienne is attending a prestigious ski conference in the Rocky Mountains with her best friend when a blizzard descends over the area. An unsavory attendee is murdered, leaving everyone stranded with a murderer with no way out until Mother Nature complies. I liked the interesting characters and the tension of being trapped with a killer. It is a well-woven plot, rife with trepidation and twists. It will keep you hooked from beginning to end.
A real page turner! It's a very well written book that keeps you hooked from the beginning till the last page.
Strongly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley
ARC - I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest
Julienne was just trying to enjoy this management conference.
How was she to know that murder was going to happen there?
To complicate matters, a blizzard strands the guests w/ the killer.
What will Julienne do?
She will solve the mystery of course!
The storytelling + the character's build were awesome!
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
