This book was not for me.
The heroine really got on my nerves.
I had high hopes for this book based on the description and other reviews. Sadly, I was disappointed. The characters were not well developed as individuals, and I wasn't convinced they had feelings for each other either. Their "chemistry" was very ho-hum. Additionally, Ginny, the female protagonist, was whinny and seemed to want to prove she could run her dad's company without actually doing anything except complaining that she was never taken seriously. The descriptions of the sexism Ginny had faced were well done, but she didn't come off as someone competent to run a business, which was her goal throughout most of the book.
I don't know how North makes these stories feel so fresh and fun but I adore her for doing so. This is just the latest masterpiece!
This book was one of the best, if not the best contemporary romance romance! The characters actually had depth and the female lead was not the usual type that gets bossed around, she knows what she wants and she goes for it. I really liked Ginni, was was funny and had a great attitude. The sheikh Nasim was holding his own, but was definitely not a pushover and let Ginni be herself, rather than trying to change her to accommodate him. The plot was well made in its simplicity as the characters were the true stars of this book. I very much enjoying this book and I will look up this author for more of her books. It is the only occasion when I gave 5 stars to a contemporary romantic novel!
A fun and feisty read. An entertaining storyline featuring switched brides, ruined business deals, and the looming possibility of all out war. Ginni and Nasim have great chemistry and whether they were arguing or giving in to their surprising attraction to one another, the sparks lit up the pages of this book. A very enjoyable romance.
Because it is a contemporary setting, the author can cleverly have all the tropes of a Sheik (wealth, power, jewels) AND modern liberated women having a lot of very hot and satisfying sex.
ARC - I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest
Zahkim was marrying the neighboring daughter because it was good for business.
Ginni was just doing a favor for a friend.
Now she is married to a sheikh.
What are the odds of that ?
The storytelling + the character's build were awesome!
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
Good intentions can sometimes land you in trouble and if you're Ginni, it can get you married to a Sheikh who's impatient and under pressure to forge an alliance to save his country. It can also give you the opportunity to experience a culture and fall in love.
I'll start by saying that the Zahkim series is serving me strong willed female characters who shake the foundation of the men and end up realizing a possibility.
I've loved reading the books in this series and cannot wait for more from Leslie North.
I'm grateful for the opportunity to have read this eARC and NetGalley and the Publisher made this happen because when it comes to romance be it Sheikhs or Billionaires, Leslie's books never disappoint.
This book is so sweet, like cotton candy! I loved it! It is a sweet, sexy, fun read.
DNF.
The entire book (digital ARC) was typed with a bold font. I’m used to chapter headings using a bold font but not the whole book. It made reading impossible as I had a blinding headache within a couple of chapters. Leslie North books are always enjoyable so I’m sad to miss out on this one.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for this copy.
I always love these Sheikh's romance novels. The idea that Nasim could marry the wrong woman, made me laugh a little. Nasim does his best to make it all work out in the end.
