There have been many versions of Disney fairytales over the years, but none have ever been done quite like this! In Bed with the Beast is book 2 in The Naughty Princess Club, and Tara Sivec's interpretation of Beauty & The Beast is like no other. There are no castles or magic here, just a naive, wanna be stripper, and a brooding, gorgeous bouncer. And somehow they equal the most addicting & hilarious fairytale I've ever read
Isabelle Reading is 25, still lives at home, and is completely awkward. Until recently books were her only friends, but then she met Ariel & Cindy. Now she has two best friends and a new company - The Naught Princess Club. Super shy & inexperienced, Belle has been staying behind the scenes, but money's tight and she's ready to put herself out there. Awkward dates, embarrassing moments, and attempts at sexual exploration follow in her journey to become the best stripper she can be.
For anyone who has read Tara Sivec before, you know she can write comedy with the best of them. Add in a beloved fairytale & strippers, and you have a comedic masterpiece! I couldn't stop laughing, and I adored Belle & Beast. But true star of this book is Mrs Potter. Please Tara, give us an entire book dedicated to old, dirty mouthed Mrs Potter!!
If you are looking for a fun story that will keep you laughing, this is it! I can't wait to read about the rest of the Naughty Princesses!!
I've read several other books by this author and have enjoyed most of them, but this one missed the mark for me. Maybe I'm getting too old, but these characters were so immature and childish I couldn't stand any of them. These are supposed,to be women, but they act like tweens. Belle was horrible to Vincent. The whole thing is kinda a train wreck......like watching jersey shore. So this one fell flat, for me.
The Good, The Bad, and Everything In Between
The Good
-Beauty & The Beast inspired stripping rom? Yes please and thank you. Isabelle is adorable in the first book (her scene with the balloon Mis is great), and seeing the way Ms. Sivec has set up this ‘verse to be a crazy funhouse mirror to the classic fairy tales of Cinderella, Beauty & The Beast, and the Little Mermaid, you know the moment she meets Beast, that sparks are going to fly. Much like the first book, this is about the heroine’s journey, the way they learn to have confidence in themselves, to embrace their sexuality and the friendships that they form. I love that and it doesn’t hurt that it’s pretty damn fun.
The Bad(ish)
-Much the same as first, what doesn’t work is the same. It’s still first person POV, and if that’s your fave, this will probably not bother you. I just wanted some time in Vincent’s head or third person perspective, but that’s just my preference. The final obstacles haven’t quite worked, even if they serve their purpose to propel the story, I just think they’re not the strongest. And with this book, the only additional issue is that, in an effort to make this a standalone, there’s a bit of a flow stopping info dump in the beginning to catch the reader up.
Everything in Between
-I really do enjoy the humor and this ‘verse. It’s so fun, the characters have grown on me and Ariel? I’m coming for you girl. You are what I’ve been waiting for and I need her book in my life ASAP.
The Bottom Line
I liked Belle and Vincent’s romance and if you like the modern twist on fairy tales, I would recommend it.
A blonde, a brunette, and a red head walk into a strip club...
It sounds like the start of a joke or a porno but no. It's the start of a fun and highly entertaining business venture (or a book series). The Naughty Princess Club is everything you expect from suburbanites turned strippers. What!?! You haven't read how it all begins!? For shame! At The Stroke of Midnight started off this series of dominoes. In an unstoppable and way too much fun adventure, it's continued in In Bed with the Beast.
This time it's Belle, the book worm nerdy librarian's turn at the pole! Clearly the Naughty Princess theme is key to this series. In these re-imaginings of the classic stories, it's hard to remember that it's an homage. The cute and funny side of Tara Sivec will blind you to the idea that you've read the basic plot before. The twist is worth it. The humor is definitely worth it.
Tara Sivec brings a wildly inappropriate sense of humor and a bucket of lusty need to every book she touches. It would be a terrible disservice to not get naughty with the Naughty Princesses and their unintentional princes.
Beauty and the Beast may be a classic that we all love and adore but In Bed with the Beast is definitely going to have you smirking and giggling long after you're done strutting your stuff. Awkward facts and all, Belle is everything you want in you new best friend.
This book started off really good but around halfway through I just started to get bored, and I ended up skimming the last half of it. Belle and her friends acted and spoke like a bunch of teenagers. Since we never get any of Vincent's POV, he just came across like a one-dimensional cardboard cutout. I didn't feel any real connection between Vincent or Belle. Not to mention she spends the first half of the book going on one blind date after the other.
Also, the fact that these heroines are strippers and their heroes are A-OK with them taking their clothes off for other men kind of bothered me. I have NO idea why it bothered me in this instance since I read books with sharing etc. and am not bothered by it, but here it annoyed me a lot. There is also only one sex scene very late in the book, so that was disappointing as well. That said, I did love Belle's father, and it did have a few laugh out loud moments. But all in all, it just wasn't my cup of tea, and I won't be bothering with the next book.
What a way to turn a classic fairy tale into a cute romance (especially if Beauty and the Beast is your favorite fairy tale like mine)!
This was a fun and quick read, perfect for times when you're fighting a dreaded reading slump. I think I would have enjoyed this even more if I had read the first book in the series first, but it was still great.
There's loads of tension, funny banter and fighting that will make you turn the pages.
A classic princess fairy tale with a modern twist. We met Belle, adorably geeky librarian, in the first book but her situation has changed. Her new stripping business has made her overprotective father uncomfortable and Belle has choices to make. Beast, hunky bodyguard at the strip club, isn't as scary mean as she thought. His past is interesting, a bit sad and very intriguing. I loved these characters and the way they each grew because of the other, made each other stronger. Her friend Ariel is a riot and will steal every scene she's in, every one. I'm really looking forward to Eric and Ariel's story, I predict sarcasm and spicy conversation. I received an early copy and wrote this review voluntarily.
Ms sivec really knows how to write a funny, awkward and sexy story.
this book captured me right in.
What a super cute book! If you read the first in the series, you got to know our shy, quirky librarian, Belle. She's the pretty girl that doesn't know she's pretty. She grew up sheltered with a single dad. She also grew up around books that may or may not have contributed to her awkwardness as she has grown into a 25 year old librarian who spouts off random facts when nervous. Pair her up with the jilted PTA mom, Cindy and the outrageous and slightly inappropriate, Arial and you have for a very entertaining group of friends.
These three really were the most entertainment in book one but in book two we got to see more of a focus on Belle and Vincent. We get to see Belle grow from a shy, awkward girl into a more confident but still shy woman. As she is trying to gain confidence with men, Cindy and Ariel set her up on a bunch of blind dates. Vincent being the broody, growly man that he is, isn't too happy about Belle being in unsafe situations and can't stop butting into her dates.
The author has spun this series into the modern day fairy tale theme. In the first book you have Cindy and PJ (Cinderella and Prince Charming). In book two, we have Belle and Vincent who is nicknamed Beast (Beauty and the Beast). And soon we will get book three with Ariel and Eric (Little Mermaid).
If you love a book that makes you laugh like I do, I highly recommend this series. Tara Sivec really is the Queen of Romantic Comedy!
Finally back with our three fairy tale strippers!
Well, Cindy is the only stripper so far. But now it's time for Belle's story.
Remember her? The shy, 25 year old librarian who is still living with her overprotective dad.
But he kind of throws her out after finding out that she's one of those riffraff hookers! LOL!
And after sleeping in her beloved library for a few nights, Beast, the bouncer from the strip-club takes her home with him.
Belle already had a huge crush on Beast in the first book and now she's LIVING WITH HIM!!!
But she's so unexperienced and shy. And he's so silent and grunty and secretive.
She needs to learn how to flirt with guys. And she finally needs to start stripping if she wants to save her library!
What will happen with Belle & Beast??
Will we get a happily ever after??
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT! ☺

LOL!
The second book was just as adorably funny as the first one!
Those three chicks are hilarious! Ariel, the antique dealer with absolutely NO filter. The prude housewife Cindy. Innocent librarian Belle. They SO don't fit together as best friends, but it works perfectly.
And sexy beast. He's just what Belle needs in her life. They're perfect for each other. But there's a lot of stuff to overcome until we can ride off into our happily ever after sunset together!
I just loved reading this book!
Absolutely hilarious and adorable and sweet. I just adore this group of people!
And I loved the moments with Belle's dad! (Not the moments at the beginning - the later ones!)
I SO need Netflix to come and make a show out of this series! ☺
I'm a tiny little disappointed about Belle's mega-typical reaction and action when the 'thing', the 'reveal' happens towards the end. Why can't there be something a bit more original in books? Almost every single book uses this stupid reaction. I want something creative and new and fun and moving and unexpected! BUT - I still realllly loved the book and the people and the story and everything!
IN BED WITH THE BEAST was such a hilarious & sexy & adorable RomCom! Run to your nearest amazon asap - you need to meet these ladies! And Beast of course ... but HANDS OFF ... he's MINE!☺
.... and now hurry - I need to read Ariel's & Eric's story asap! ☺
This is my third book by Tara Sivec, and I just don't think her particular brand of humor is for me. I really wanted to like this cute, light story that loosely follows Beauty and the Beast, but most of the jokes fell flat.
Belle is the type of heroine that I don't typically enjoy. She is 25 but acts like a petulant preteen, and she is supposed to be charmingly spastic and socially unaware, but she comes across as immature. I found her spouting of random facts to be sort of... puzzling.
I also didn't love how she treated Vincent, who was clearly enamored with her from the start. She was inconsiderate on multiple fronts, and invaded his privacy more than once, though Vincent himself was no angel. I found his stalking to be borderline obsessive and, frankly, unappealing.
What I enjoyed about the story was the ways thatTara Sivec tied in Beauty and the Beast. It was clever and witty, and I enjoyed all the hidden ways that the stories aligned. I also enjoyed how light the story was. It was a break from all of my heavier reads, and I dug the escapism aspect.
I don't think the stripping princess theme appealed to me as much as it will to some readers. At times, I felt the story was trying too hard to be funny and too hard to be sexy, neither of which quite landed with my particular tastes. However, I think if you are a long-time Tara Sivec fan, you will be pleased with this one.

In Bed with the Beast is the first book I have read by Tara Sivec and the second book in the series! I really loved this! Belle was so awkward and random but I seriously loved her! Beast was sexy gruff, growly, possessive and all alpha but he was sweet! Belle and Beast had alot of sexual tension and the awkwardness of Belle gave us funny interactions between them. I really loved them together! This book was so funny. Belle, Cindy and Ariel were crazy!! I can't wait for Ariel's book and I am definitely going back and reading Cindy's book!
I don't understand why everyone is raving about this book or maybe I'm just broken, but I didn't like this book sadly
I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it. The second book in The Naughty Princess Club is about Belle and Beast "Vincent". When her girlfriends end up getting her kicked out of her dad's house she decides to sleep/live/work in the library. Beast starts showing up about an hour before close every night and feeding her. Belle thinks her living arrangement is still her secret until Beast has other ideas and lets her live in his house and by the long list of rules he gives out. Belle is in desperate need of money, so she can get her own place and keep the struggling library she loves alive. Her friends think she needs more experience and set her up on disastrous blind dates through a dating app. Belle finally convinces her friends she is the next one to start having stripping party bookings of her own. Vincent is not too happy but has his own skeletons and secrets of his own! I could not read this book fast enough! I eagerly await the final instalment of this series!
They just complement each other so well! Beast is nothing like everyone thinks. It is surprising all the potential he has and how much better he is than everyone else. Turns out he is the perfect guy for Belle. The one that will listen to her while she goes on and on. The one that will understand and support her passions and also become one her passions. And the one that will genuinely have the patience and desire to make her happy. She is a flower waiting to bloom and that she does with the help of her friends. They put a little spice in her to keep Beast on his toes. This read is so much fun and sweet and absurd sometimes with all the encounters Belle goes through... And one thing I really liked is the little details the author was clever enough to add that connects these characters with the ones we know from our childhood fairy tales.
Belle is ready to embrace life. Having lived a sheltered life living with her dad she is ready to explore all life has to offer. Making mistakes and finally finding her happy ever after all she can think about. Saving her library and continuing her love affair with books give her the air she needs to breathe. Life throws a little hiccup along the way and Beast offers her what she needs at exactly the right time. Will she get her fairy tale or be forced to read about them in the books she loves. Absolutely hilarious. Love this series and excited for the next book.
This is the first book I have read in this series but it won't be the last. In fact, I plan to go back and read book one while I wait for book three. Belle and her two friends, Cindy and Ariel are great. Cindy and Ariel are the best type of girlfriends you can have. Although, I would say that I liked Ariel a bit more. She is more outspoken and should sass. Yet, Belle is no wallflower, even if what she thinks is an appropriate date outfit...maxi dress. Per Ariel's standards, a maxi dress is not acceptable. Back to Belle. She showed plenty of sass herself. My favorite moments were when she would get flustered and start rambling facts.
Vincent "Beast" has brooding down to an art. He pulled it off with just the right amount of sexiness and compassion as well. For example, when he decorated a room for Belle only to tell Belle he does not do "crying" and rushes from the room upon receiving compliments. Vincent and Belle sure could steam up a room with their attraction.
I really enjoyed this modern twist on a classic. The characters had personality but it was the humor that kept me hanging on and wanting more.
***I received an ebook copy from the author at no charge***
I'm really loving the modern day, sexy take on fairy tales that authors are giving us. This is the second book in The Naughty Princess Club series, and though I haven't yet read the first one, this was easy to read as a standalone.
Belle lives with her dad, who is super controlling and way overprotective. His actions clearly stem from his love for her but eventually Belle has enough, and packs her bag and heads out. Her two best friends are the obvious people she should go stay with, but she has way too much pride for that, so Belle heads off to the library she works at and starts to sleep there.
Enter Beast, a bouncer at a club in town. Belle has had a few encounters with him, and none have been pleasant. He's grumpy, brooding, has a horrible attitude problem ... and is sexy as hell. When he offers to let Belle stay with him, after noticing she never leaves the library. She doesn't want to accept at first but eventually caves and agrees to spend the night at his place.
And thus begins an angsty, sweet, and sexy romance story.
The characters in this book were amazing. Belle and her two best friends (Ariel and Cynthia) have a hysterical and fun relationship. They're all so different, with completely opposite personalities, but they complement one another perfectly and they're loyal to each other. I loved Beast. Getting to know him was a lot like peeling an onion. There were so many laters, and heartbreak has left him hardened to most things. But Belle ... she just might be the force that's needed to come around and break down the walls Beast so carefully constructed.
I liked Belle too. She was kinda naive at times, but that fit into the story well. She's so incredibly passionate about the library, the books, and saving this place that she loves. And it was amazing to see her blossom over the course of the story. Being away from her dad and around someone new helped to bring her out of her shell, in my opinion. I loved that Belle didn't need Beast to rescue her. Unlike typical fairytales, Belle came out strong and was able to do things for herself and stand on her own two feet before she let herself have a happily ever after.
This was such a fun read! There were a lot of moments that had me giggling fiercely, and of course some scenes that were hotter than hot. The story moved along at a good pace and I enjoyed how Sivec was able to keep some elements from the original Beauty and the Beast fairy tale there, while turning In Bed with the Beast into her own unique rendition of a classic and much loved tale. I loved Sivec's writing style and I'm finding myself wanting to go back and read the first book in the series, so I can get more of these characters and get to know Cynthia a little bit better.
I would recommend this to anyone looking for a fun and easy romance.
Four stars to this novel!
***5 ‘You Are Not The Boss Of Me’ Stars***
From the very first page I was laughing and cringing all that the same time. Not that I didn’t expect it. After reading At the Stroke of Midnight, I knew that Belle and Beast aka Vincent’s book would leave me with quite a bit of whiplash as well as more random facts floating around in my head than I thought possible, but it’s one thing to know what is coming and another thing to actually experience. But outside of the laugh/snort out loud moments and gaining of knowledge, In Bed With the Beast was all kinds of sweet, smexy and crazy and I adored every second of it.
I adored Isabelle, even when my eyes went a little cross eyed, I adored her. She may be awkward, she may be prone to spouting off random, though pertinent, information there was an honesty to her that made her extremely likeable. The fact that she owned her quirks was a huge draw, but watching her find herself and finally see how strong she could be was what made everything worthwhile.
Vincent. Beast. Vincent...No matter what you call the man, he is all kinds of growly, beastie, smexy alpha AF male goodness. His definitely has a short fuse, and there were moments were even I was like “Oh no he didn’t” but he proved time and time again just how golden his heart was. The man made me all kinds of dopey and twitterpated.
As for their journey to their HEA. It was a mish mash of adorkable, angsty, laugh out loud goodness with a dose of smexy that I didn’t expect but felt it was perfect. I loved it when they went at odds and went toe to toe as much as I loved when they were sweet and smexy. They got each other on a level that no one else could have, and one neither realized until they had both fallen hard for the other.
I have to say I really liked how the author took the various themes from the Beauty and the Beast fairytale and made them her own. Some aspects she kept, some she didn’t, and some she put her own twist on and I thoroughly enjoyed the little tweaks she made. Of the new characters we meet, Mrs. Potter is my favorite and I have no doubt she will be yours too. Catching up with Cindy and PJ was fun and then there is Ariel. Now, I wish her book, Kiss the Girl, was on the Kindle right now, I do, believe me, I do, BUT as much as I love her I know I will need to prepare for the hurricane that is Ariel, even if the themes from The Little Mermaid are followed we will still be IN her head, so the mental prep is starting now, because I NEED to find out how Eric breaks down her walls in a big, big way!
This is the story of a woman spreading her wings, building her confidence and chasing the HEA she deserves.
Book two in this Naughty Princess Club features Belle, and of course her beast. I loved how the author developed this retelling. Belle, like her Disney character, has a passion for books, and her goal with the business venture is to raise funds to help her library keep afloat. As for Beast, he isn't actually a beast, duh, this author hasn't ventured to shifter books just yet, lol. Instead, Beast is just the nickname for Vincent Adams due to his *ahem* overall size.
Like her two BFFs, Belle is hurting financially. Things don't get better for her when her dad kicks her out of the house, due to outrage with her new job (even though she isn't actually stripper . . .yet).
With Cindy and Ariel having their own issues, Belle decides her only option is to sleep at the library which she runs. And that's where Beast reenters.
We first met Beast in book one, as the bouncer at Charming's Gentlemen's Club. He and Belle didn't quite see eye to eye in that book and things don't improve in this installment, at least for a while. But despite their differences, Belle accepts his "demand" to stay at his place (not a castle) until she can afford her own.
Belle was an amusing character.
- Awkward to the extreme, particularly with her penchant for repeating useless facts when nervous.
"You're so weird."
- Unlucky in love, suffering a series of really bad dates that Cindy and Ariel set her up on.
- Innocent on nearly every level of intimacy - although not a virgin, as she makes clear often.
- Outspoken at times with Beast, which is even funnier given all of the above.
As for Beast/Vincent, it was easy to see he had a soft/protective side, despite his aloof demeanor at times.
"I'm nobody's hero, princess. And this isn't a fairy tale."
What I didn't get was why he kept the secrets that he did? The first secret really made no sense to me, especially with how sweet it was. As for the second secret, Belle went a bit overboard on her reaction to it, when it really wasn't that big a deal in the grand scheme of things. And ultimately, it had a nice outcome for both.
This was a fun and sweet installment to the series. I'm looking forward to reading Ariel's story next, as I'm sure there is more to her than the outspoken and crass persona we know so far.
