I was pleasantly surprised by this book. In the beginning, I got a little worried. But then I really got into it and cared about these characters. Part of the problem is that I'm pretty critical of dance books because I am a lifelong dancer. But this was handled fairly well. It probably helps that I don't know a ton about the world of Ballroom Dance.

Overall, this was a light, fun, and funny story. The hero, Jesse, is the goofy guy from the boy band he was in. So, he brings a lot of that fun and breaks up a lot of the tense situations. He also isn't afraid of his emotions like some heroes which was a nice change. Ava, the heroine, is much more straight-laced and kind of uptight. I understand that kind of behavior and I liked seeing her develop.

The romance was nice. Jesse and Ava had an immediate attraction, but didn't just jump into bed. That can have merit, but I think slower romances tend to be more believable. And I enjoyed reading about them just talking/dancing.

I believe this is the last book in this series. And I do want to read the other books because I'm curious about Jesse's brothers and their romances.

Think the original movie Step Up mixed with this need to raise money for the school. We have two opposites that need each other to make this dance completion happen.

Jesse had committed to a dance competition and there was no going back once a heart gave his word it was as good as gold. His partner Ava Mayor let his manager know she was not happy to partner up with a boy band, hip hop dancer who was below her. But this wasn’t just about dancing. The Performing Arts Center needs major repairs and Jesse’s participation ensured a big turn out for the event so he agreed to dance. Jesse was supposed to be the happy-go- lucky Heart brother, never taking anything seriously. Jesse tended to be late as well as a night owl and a late riser and Ava was a stickler for being on time and liked things to start bright and early like at 7:00 am. Jesse had a laid back beach loving style. Ava’s original dance partner and ex fiance Anthony left her for a rival dancer. Ava wondered if she would be able to ever trust again Ava had beren a dance instructor here for about four months she just wanted to live her life quietly and not worry about the media and what they were saying. Ava was from Chicago. They only had five weeks until the event. Even though Ava said she felt no chemistry for Jesse that was the farthest thing from the truth then Ava brushes her lips against Jesse’s and he deepens the kiss. But after they talk Ava says they couldn’t kiss again. Ava was a sensual woman that was one of the reasons she she loved ballroom dancing. The passion. The tug of war - the story the dance told was what had drawn Ava to ballroom dancing.
I loved this book. Another hit with the Heart Brothers Series. I advise you to read the book in this series in order they are all great but all will run smoother that way. I loved how the Heart brothers were always there for each other as well as their families. I loved jesse and Ava together. I also loved how Angelique finally took a stand against Anthony until she saw the real him and what he wanted to do. I loved this relationship built as you read and wasn’t an instalove/lust thing. I happily could not find anything to criticize in this book. I loved the plot and pace also. I loved the characters except for Anthony of course and all the ins and outs and I highly recommend.

This was fun, but I had a hard time getting into it, despite the opening grabbing my interest. We start off in Jesse's POV, where he meets Ava and she is snobby and short with him. Then, we get her POV and it turns out that she is trying to make him give up on dancing with her because.. she thinks he is hot. That seemed like a strange reason to be sorry unprofessional. And them kissing also felt off.

Then, we get basically an entire chapter where she is sitting at her computer and thinking about how she misses sex, her ex is a jerk who cheated, and other internal monologue pondering. It felt like a lot of unnecessary "telling."

There are a lot of things these two have in common, but it feels shallow and forced to me.

Not entirely sure if I just wasn't in the headspace for this, but I was looking for something different. This would probably be great for anyone who enjoys fan fiction and is looking for a fluffy book to read by the pool.

This is book 3 in the series about former boy band brothers who then settle in a small town in Florida. Ava is a new transplant from NYC where she was a professional ballroom dancer. Now she runs a dance studio and she is paired with Jesse in a fundraiser dance contest.

Jesse falls fast and hard for Ava but she wants to concentrate on dancing rather than lust until Jesse talks her into it. I loved Ava, she is one strong woman and she faces many trials in this book one of which is her ex and his new lady love decide to come to town and enter the same dance contest.

This was a terrific third book in the series and I loved every second of it.
