4.5 stars - An action packed paranormal romantic that grabbed from page one. I loved how strong, independent & self-sacrificing Bianca was. The relationship with Cage was hot; combine that with a great plot and writing and this one is a winner. Can't wait to read more in this series.
I took a chance on reading this book as it's not my usual genre. I was so surprised i really enjoyed it. The story itself was fun to read and kept my attention. Some of it made me chuckle. But all in all I enjoyed the book.
I would consider this a sweet and sexy shifter romance, with a great meet cute. You know, girl just having a vacation in some central american resort, gets kidnapped along with a little boy, keeps protecting little boy from nasty elements, gets rescued by hunky, sexy secret ops group and oh, yeah gets bitten along the way by a wolf. Now, all she has to do is wait for her turning and maybe gets her romance as well. In Bitten Under Fire, the second book in Heather Long's Bravo Team. Wolf series, Bianca was accidentally bitten by Cage while being rescued in the jungles of Central America. Cage now has to find out if she really was bitten and decide what to do if she turns. He never imagined to fall for this feisty, sexy, good Samaritan along the way. Now, how to break it to her that she might be turning into a wolf shifter is another matter. I love how this story played out, if I take away the action/adventure aspect plus the whole turning to a wolf thing, its a definite blue print on how a relationship unfolds slowly. There was a lot of banter, sexy flirting and sweet moments between Bianca and Cage plus yes lots of sexy times as well. But it's how they are with each other that makes this story quite compelling. Looking forward to the next book!
Bianca is use to helping others, so protecting a child is well within her nature. However, will saving a child cost her life?
I thoroughly enjoyed Bitten Under Fire the second in Heather Long’s Bravo Team WOLF series. Bianca is an aid worker. Her nature and job is to help others. When she tries to protect a child it places her in danger. But also leads to Cage. I so enjoyed meeting Cage. Ms. Long gave us this alpha male determined to do right by Bianca. I love seeing him almost court her, even if he is unaware that is what he is doing. I love seeing Bianca react to Cage. I love that Ms. Long gave us such a strong female in Bianca even as her world changed in ways she barely understood. Cage has made an error and is attempting to fix it. I love that he has hidden even from himself why he needs to be around and with Bianca. I love that even as he tries to figure out if he has changed Bianca forever, Cage finds himself enamored by the person. I enjoyed seeing Bianca peel back layers of Cage and help him become the man he struggles to be.
This story by Ms. Long allowed us into a world that I hope she will continue. The growing love between Cage and Bianca is wonderful to see. I want to know more about Cage’s team. More about his family. More about this world. I enjoyed seeing the possibilities and hope that Ms. Long will return to this world she has created and show us more.
Bianca was finally taking a vacation. Life should definitely give her the reward of relaxing. That’s when everything goes wrong. Finding herself in a life threatening situation. Meeting Cage was something she was not prepared for. He would change her entire world and they would come to find the mate they always wanted.
I received an arc from Netgalley. Although wolf shifters or humans changing to wolves are not necessarily my thing I did enjoy the love story behind it and how protective cage was of Bianca.
Nothing like a good shifter story to get me going and I loved Cage and Bianca together. Bianca was tough and feisty and Cage was charming and funny. This is the kind of action-packed romance I enjoy.
I enjoyed this book. Strong characters, enjoyable read. This author is a definite go to when I want something I know I'll enjoy
I am no sure what to think of this book ……...I almost feel that I have read something similar before .
By this I mean that whilst the characters have different names and the events happen in different places the
story of girl rescues child , is then rescued by 'special forces' guy , feels immediate attraction , goes back
home only to find he has followed her to persue the relationship . She then needs rescuing from the bad guys again ………. they live happy ever after .
I don't mean to be too critical as the story is a pleasant read with likable characters which I enjoyed .
If only I had not read other books of a similar storyline !!
I was given an arc of this book by NetGalley and the Publisher in exchange for my honest review .
Bianca is on vacation but when guerillas hit her resort to kidnap a diplomat’s son, she intervenes to safe his life. The marines come to the rescue and save them both and Bianca returns home to Texas. She is shocked to find Cage, one of the marines who saved her living across the street from her new house. But Cage is hiding a secret. This is a fast-paced read with plenty of drama. The story is entertaining and I liked the characters. A good read.
I had a tough time getting into Bitten Under Fire. The characters were in their heads a lot, to the point I found myself skimming and then putting it down. It tried several times to get back into it but eventually gave up trying to finish it.
Bianca Devlin 's life is all work and no play as a disaster relief worker, but it figures that the one time she's forced to take a vacation, she gets kidnapped by guerillas when she steps in to prevent them from taking a diplomat's son.
Bravo Team WOLF comes to the rescue and Bianca returns home to recuperate but her life is about to get turned upside down and Sergeant Carlos “Cage” Castillo may be the only person to help her make sense of it, if she lets him.
I was completely blown away by the first book in this series and expected BITTEN UNDER FIRE to be similar, so I was somewhat disappointed when I didn't get any of the action and suspense I was expecting. But this book ended up being fun in its own way.
Bianca is independent, strong and enjoys a life with no fuss, but her attraction to Cage is reason to slow down and enjoy a slower pace and an unexpected romance. However, romance may not be the only change she is facing and she'll need every bit of fortitude she's built to face an uncertain future, which may or may not have Cage in it.
There were a few parts of the story that felt kind of cheesy to me, but overall, it was an enjoyable story with some surprises. I enjoyed the change of pace from the action-packed, suspense -filled series opener, and I am looking forward to what the author has to offer next.
While on a much needed forced vacation Bianca gets kidnapped with a young boy. When she feels all is lost they are saved. Unfortunately for her she is hurt and it she has a bite. Cage is the sergeant of the team that saved her. He shows up at her house he has to see if the bite takes or if she is ok.
This was an ok predictable story,

This is book two in the Bravo Team Wolf series and it features Bianca and Carlos “Cage” Castillo. She’s beautiful, brave and resourceful. I am so glad that her stubborn nature didn’t turn out to make me dislike her. Cage was amazing! He’s sexy, attentive and did I say sexy? Yeah, he is all that! From hearing her description of him I have this picture in my head that I put together with the voice I imagined he’d have...PERFECTION! His team’s been sent on a mission. There was an accident. He didn’t mean to do it.
Great story line with plenty of action. The characters are fabulous! There are so many things I’m looking forward to in future books in this series. I can’t wait!
Bianca goes on vacation...and it isn't the peaceful vacation she envisioned, but she is the type of person who sees a situation and does her best to survive and keep others around her alive and thriving. She risks her life to a child, and does a good job of saving him until enter Bravo Team WOLF being lead by Cage. Things go a bit wonky but Cage is easily a candidate for the best hero I've read in a long time.
Ms. Long continues to always delight with her world building and the work and care that has gone into coming up with her world and rules for the world shows in how easy it is to fall into the story and feel like you are there with the characters feeling and seeing what they are experiencing.
I love both the main character because they were relatable on a human level. I definitely love these wolves and look forward to the rest of Bravo Team WOLF falling in love, I can only hope their love stories are just as much fun.
So to recap, I loved Bianca because she didn't take no crap from Cage or anyone, she was a heroine who could rescue herself but Cage does it so well, that I'm happy she let him rescue her. Cage is a charming hero that when he messes up does a good job making up for it, and overall I was thoroughly impressed with the story, the setting and the characters. I will wait somewhat patiently for more stories in this series, though they are definitely easily standalone, I enjoyed feeling like I already knew the cast of characters.
So read this one, and read When Danger Bites too.
Thanks Netgalley for a ARC to read and give my honest opinion!
Bianca Devlin is sunning herself by the pool one moment and the next protecting a young boy from being kidnapped by guerilla fighters trekking with them deep into the jungle. Her only thoughts were to protect the boy from the nightmare, and make sure he wasn't alone.
Sergeant Carlos "Cage" Castillo is part of a Marine team called WOLF, his werewolf team goes in to look for the young boy and rescue efforts. In a leap to attack the man holding Bianca he accidentally bites her which could lead to her turning wolf. After they are extracted from the situation Cage keeps a close eye on Bianca and it turns into something more. Unable to determine if she would make the change from human to wolf he sticks close to her.
I enjoyed this book, Bianca and Cage have some very sweet attraction. Both are such do gooders that it was nice that this relationship was just for them. Thechemistry bloomed nicely, and love a HEA. Four stars of entertainment!
I greatly enjoyed this book from the beginning to the end. I loved Bianca and Cage's characters and chemistry from the beginning. There wasn't a boring or dull moment anywhere in this book. There was such a love, respect, trust between all of the characters. I would highly recommend this book to everyone.
Heather Long is a great storyteller. I like the blend of paranormal and romance. Perfect plot. The main characters were nicely developed. GOOD!
I love this series and this is one of the best books I've read in it. The characters are wonderful, the storyline is great and it's not only full of action it's also full of angst, loyalty, friendship, and love. You'll have to read this book to get to know Bianca and Cage. They're fantastic as are the others of Bravo Team Wolf!
I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This on only book #2 for me by Heather Long. I enjoyed the first one so decided to try the next book in the Bravo Team WOLF series.
I'm so glad that I did. I think I liked it better then the first one.
I enjoyed the whole story. Bianca is a caring loving person who doesn't take crap from anyone. Sometimes that gets her in trouble.
I really loved Cage. How could I not.
Together these two are perfect. I loved the way they interacted together. They really helped the story move alone. From the first page the story is non-stop something I love in my romances. I want to get to the end and wondered how I got there.
I'm really glad that I took the time to read Bitten Under Fire. I'm sure some with say this is a standalone and yes, it could be, but do yourself a favor and read the first book. You learn some much more about this group the the people in it but reading the stories in order.
