I've been a fan of Catherine Coulter for many years and generally enjoy her books. I have noticed lately that there are too many characters in her books and often the story lines are rambling and nonsensical and I am sorry to say that this book is one of those. Strange conversations that sound very singsong and often make no sense, not even sure why half the characters are in the book much less what they are talking about.
The books have become very formulaic and this one was actually a chore to read to the end. I do not recommend this to anyone as i found it a sad disappointment.
There is a reason Catherine Coulter is one of my favorite authors. She is the queen of FBI thrillers! This book will be another shining gem in her crown.. There are so many things I liked about this book. Sherlock and Savich are front and center in all the action. They are by far my favorite FBI agents. Sean and his girlfriends always make me smile. But the non-stop action was what really pulled me in. The ending was superb. I loved this book and I think Catherine has another best seller.
Loved the cliffhangers. Liked that closure was about every character. There were some typos but did not flag them; sorry.
Great series. Great characters. Great plot. I read everything she writes and am never disappointed. The FBI series is one that I follow religiously. I can't get enough of the Savich/Sherlock team.
Catherine Coulter does it again! An attempted kidnapping of Savich's and Sherlock's five year old son Sean leads them to a criminal that escaped from a prison for the criminally insaned. Their pursuit of this criminal will lead them to another murder that has ties to some long held secrets and unsolved crimes. This one is filled with so many unexpected surprises that will keep you guessing!!!
Wow. Just Wow.
From the moment I picked it up, I could not put Paradox down. My shock and awe at the perpetrators and the enforcement that tried desperately to figure out who and why was all consuming.
It’s a completely new, but familiar link in the FBI Thriller series that you won’t want to miss — whether you’ve read the others, or not. Paradox is an all comsuming ride on the crazy train as you try to comprehend how all of the pieces fit together.
The witty, mysterious and just plan fun Paradox by Catherine Coulter.
Paradox takes us on a tantalizing dangerous journey with Izzy and Connor as "Shades" and a company of mob men, world renown cooks and neighbors that are zany!
Such an excellent fun read.
Sherlock and Savich's five year old son is almost kidnapped by escaped convict Victor Nesser. He's hell bent on revenge for the deaths of his love, Lissy Smiley and her mother Jennifer. While searching for the body of his lawyer, Chief Christie realizes that their lake has been used as serial killer's dumping ground. The quaint little town has been turned upside down.
Catherine Coulter has produced another heart pounding, spellbinding thriller. It's very engrossing from the very beginning with so many nail biter moments that you'll be in awe.

I thoroughly enjoyed the earlier books in the FBI series, and this one reminded me of those earlier titles. I really enjoyed the characters, and the rapport that develops between all of the law enforcement characters. I think one of the things that was appealing was that it felt more real than some of the other recent titles in the series... mental illness is more relate-able than supernatural elements to me.
Characters were well developed. The plot was intriguing. Loved the descriptiveness of the book. I would like to read more from this author
Catherine Coulter once again brings together her married FBI agents Savich and Sherlock in a fast moving plot. She brings in several mysteries making you wonder what in the heck their connection is. In Coulter fashion she introduces her agents, has them meet up with new lead characters and the suspense and action begins. Local town law Chief Ty Christie seeks an answer to a psychokiller’s murdering agenda while finding bones of a serial killer’s victims with a Star of David belt buckle tied in. What you say? Yes, three strange stories that will keep you reading to figure how all three can be resolved. As always, the characters are smart and fun and guide the story. My only complaint is the often zany conversations, which cause you to laugh at serious moments, could maybe be a wee bit more professional in that they are the legal authorities. For Coulter fans, Paradox is another light and fast paced story to gobble up and then have to sit back and wait for the next episode of the FBI thrillers.
The Savich and Sherlock books can be a little uneven for me. But I set my expectations low for the romance on this one (why even include them, they're so glossed over, at this point?) But they're once more drawn into a mystery and that is the more enjoyable part of the story, seeing the two of them work together. This time, it's to thwart someone who seems to be trying to destroy their lives, starting with trying to kidnap their son.
The A story overlaps with a sheriff who happens to witness the murder of the person who sets off the Sherlock/Savich chain of events and the FBI lover of the woman who is murdered. There is also a story about a serial killer that is glossed on.
Four stars
This book comes out July 31st

I've never had the opportunity to enjoy a Catherine Coulter book, so first an foremost thank you Netgalley & Ms. Coulter for the opportunity. Like I stated I've never before devoured one of Ms. Coulter's books but I'm hooked. Paradox is a fast-paced thriller that hooks you from the start! Is there a serial killer living in Willicott, MD? Do police chief really witness murder first hand? Grab a copy on July 31 & see what exactly is happening in this small in this small town, you won't be sorry!
This is the first book I have read by Catherine Coulter. That is why I decided to pick this one to read. There are plenty of surprises for us. How do you find a serial killer who left his victim's bodies in a lake? Not just four or five, but twenty - or more? Then there is also a whacked out crazy person running around killing people. I was pleasantly surprised by this book. It was a good read. Just one point: be prepared to read about how beautiful and handsome everyone is. Again and again and again. A little overdone. Otherwise an enjoyable read and I recommend it. Some happy surprises here too.
This is an extraordinary book! Many twists , and turns, I wasn't grazy about Victor, he should have been given the death penalty! I loved the married FBI couple, their son is too cute. We have a serial killer, an escapee from an asylum, a page Turner, yet I figured out who it was by the 10th Chapter. It is a good read, I appreciate Netgalley allowing me to read this book. A good read, not great, but good.
I recommend. Thank you!

Another Blockbuster by Catherine Coulter!
Catherine Coulter weaves a story through time, threading events and people in a small town together in a way that is explosive. You get to know the main characters and get the sense that subsequent stories will involve them (I would guess that these characters were introduced in previous books, but this was my first introduction to them). I like the way she merged local police and the FBI, multiple crimes/cases and a tiny bit of the paranormal. I have only two complaints with the story. First, he whodunnit was a little over-the-top for my liking. Second, the conversations between law enforcement personnel was dumbed-down for the reader. The conversations were used to lead the reader along the line of the investigation, but they would not talk amongst themselves explaining the manner in which to begin a case. All in all, though, I really enjoyed this book and recommend it to anyone who likes a good whodunnit!
Catherine Coulter continues the saga of Savich and Sherlock in Paradox. The inclusion of Ty and Sala and their case proved to be an interesting twist.
Seeing that this is #22 in a FBI mystery series, and it is only my first Catherine Coulter read - I am way behind. However, being that I started from the latest in the series, I wasn't completely lost. There were parts of the book where I felt that okay, maybe I was missing something from earlier on. But, it wasn't hard to catch on. The characters were very likable, and this was definitely an easy read. I was a huge fan of the show White Collar, which this book kind of reminds me of. I definitely have a lot of catching up to do in this series, but for me this is a definite win.
Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC, in exchange for an honest review.
Catherine Coulter writes fun mysteries. In this one police chief Ty Christie witnesses a murder on the lake that her house is on. When the lake is swept, bones from many different bodies are found, as well as a belt buckle that will be key to solving part of the mystery of how the dead bodies got there and who killed the person Ty saw murdered.
In this novel, just about everyone is described as good-looking, handsome, or pretty. I have not found that in real life, entire police forces and small-town communities can be described this way. She also used the word “bespoke” so often in became noticeably obvious.
This mystery is fun, but the writing is definitely not literary, so it depends on your mood. If you want something very light and untaxing to your intellect, this is a well-done novel.
Thank to NetGalley for the opportunity to review this novel, which RELEASES JULY 31ST,
If you have never experienced reading novels by Catherine Coulter, you are definitely missing out. Her extensive library of books with FBI couple Sherlock and Savich are prime mystery reading, always with threads of several plots running through and weaving together.
In Paradox, a small lake town is rocked by a murder, bones are found in the depthe of the lake , and
Sherlock and Savich are on the search for the man threatening to kidnap their young son. A psycho is on the loose, wreaking havoc for everyone involved and being a slippery eel, too slippery to catch. Plus, a woman was murdered out on the lake and witnessed by the town’s sheriff. Are the two thing related or is there more to the story than appears?
