A hot sexy romance between Emma and Shep. When Emma comes to Colorado to escape heartache in New York, she works part time at a local bar, and keeps seeing sexy Shep. Needless to say sparks fly and so it begins. A few issues on both sides, working through them, and meeting together for a HEA is part of the fun. A quick easy read, especially for summer. Would recommend.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book (given by Netgalley)...

I love love Shep!!! He’s totally book husband material. I even loved Emma, usually I have a hard time when the heroine goes and back forth with her feelings, but with Emma, you could actually feel her confusion over her past with Jake and her present with Shep.

I loved how all the people just wanted to help Emma without truly knowing her. After her accident, Shep didn’t hesitate to help her recover and teach her about handling abused animals. Emma and Shep both have major choices to make about what they want in life and what kind of life they want. They are both mourning loved ones and trying to understand their new lives. The steam and connection between them was instant and majorly hot.

I want to see more of the Blackthorn brothers because man-oh-man they are very interesting. Chase has feelings for Harper, who is his best friend’s little sister then we have Nash and Megan who seem to have an frenemies relationship going on.

Emma is lost. She recently lost her job and her "boyfriend" and is licking her wounds at the ranch she just inherited from her grandmother. She's working at a bar while she figures out what to do next. Enter Shep. He's tall, dark, and handsome and a cowboy and Emma takes notice. He notices her, too. They know that they can't have anything long-term as she's big city and he's definitely a "wide open spaces" kind of guy, but sometimes, things don't go as planned.

Emma is vulnerable and trying to work through a breakup and Shep sees all the special qualities in her that she doesn't seem to see in herself. They bring out the best in each other. Yes, there's plenty of sex, but there's also an emotional connection that Emma feels with Shep.

I liked this story and can't wait to read Chase and Nash's stories.

This book was so hot! Dirty-Talking Cowboy lived up to it's name. Shep was so swoony and sexy. He had a filthy mouth, but was equally just as sweet when it came to Emma. This was a good start to a fun and light series! I can't wait to see Chase fall next!

4 hot kinky spurs Stars!

The first in a new series, Stacey Kennedy is a new to me author and this book didn’t disappoint. A story about moving on from heartbreak and learning to trust again, super hot chemistry and lets be honest, who doesn’t love a smokin’ hot cowboy. Definitely a great start to the series and looking forward to reading more as they release.

This first book in a new series from Stacey Kennedy is both sweet and sexy. It's a cute story with some fun elements. The characters are good the drama is relatively unique...

Overall, while I've loved stacey's books for years, this felt a little superficial as a story. Not a lot of depth, but still an enjoyable read.

Charming and cute. Definitely felt the chemistry between the main characters but I’m happy there was an actual storyline. Easy to read and it has the happy ending I hoped for.

Where the heck have I been? I don't typically pick up "Cowboy" reads, but when this came across my inbox, I just had to give it a shot. Man oh man, I'm so glad I did. Do I dare say that this has opened my eyes to more "cowboy" reads?

Emma is from NYC and is an up and coming marketing guru. That is until everything changes. Not only has she lost her Grandma, she's lost her relationship and everything she thought she had in the big city. But while contemplating her next move, she becomes distracted by the incredibly hot cowboy who's really good with those ropes. But is he just a distraction, or the answer to her prayers?

Shep is a cowboy. Ok, he's more than a cowboy. He's the oldest of three sons, owns his own business and has been put in charge of his father's estate after his death. And while he should be focusing on what's in the families best interest, he can't seem to get Emma off the brain. Seems like Shep and Emma can use each other as a distraction of sorts. So why does it feel like more than a distraction?

Like I mentioned before, I've been won over. I loved the story line, loved ALL of the characters, but most importantly fell in love with the "family" feel of this. The saying, "nothing is more important than family" really shines in the this book. Emma and Shep have serious chemistry which leads to some heavy breathing scenes. But the relationships between friends and family pulled me in just as much as the main characters.

I can't wait to read the other brothers' stories. I just KNOW they won't disappoint!!!

This Kinky Spurs series is going to definitely be kinky, if book one is anything to go on! The love scenes were definitely hot. In fact, I have steered away from cowboy romances for awhile, but Stacey Kennedy has roped me back in. Cowboys are back on my radar! Having three sexy brothers is a good start.

Shep is the man with the plan, he's the guy left in charge of what to do with their dad's business. No pressure hahaha. He is sexy and sweet, and good with rope!

Emma is hiding away at her grandma's place, far from the big city she's used to. She's in a bit of crisis identity, not sure what to do next, and skittish like a hurt animal. I really liked watching her start to trust and become stronger again.

I definitely plan to read the others in the series, and there were hints in this book as to who they would be.

Come to River Rock to mend your broken heart and get roped in by a Dirty Talking Cowboy.

Emma is a high flyer whose broken heart has brought her to River Rock where she is working in a bar, when not tending to wounded animals.

Shep is sex on legs and when he aims at a target, he never misses.

Emma has just inherited her grandmother's farm and has left the city with a broken heart. From the first time that Shep sets eyes on her, he knows that she is special. The way he looks at her, renders her breathless, but she isn't going there again. Not after her recent breakup! After winning the "rope them in contest" at Kinky Spurs, she resists his propositions.

She has an accident the next day and finds Shep at her bedside when she wakes up in the hospital. She is a bit embarrassed as he just starred in her most erotic dream. As she needs close observations, he is only too happy to play "nurse." From there they form a comfortable friendship which turns into erotic sessions. Then feelings start to set in. Will Emma give them a chance or will she return to the city?

Shep easily takes on the role of protector even when he is having his own trouble with the family business. He helps Emma with Bentley, a broken and wounded horse and has an affinity with animals in general. I like the parallel in the concept, where Bentley and Emma are wounded and unable to trust, and how Shep has the ability to gain their trusts. It's an erotic romance with lots of love and compassion. Shep's brothers are interesting characters and I look forward to reading their stories.

I was kindly issued with an eARC and the views expressed are my personal opinion.

"Dirty Talking Cowboy" by Stacey Kennedy
I was gifted an ARC via NetGalley and this is my honest review. This is a very good story, an interesting contemporary romance. I really liked the parallel healing stories of Emma and Bentley. That said, I did skim-skip over the sex scenes.... a lot more detail than I needed to read.

5 Stars!!

Yes! Loved this book! One of my favorite genres of romance is anything to do with cowboys. Love cowboys! AND I loved Dirty-Talking Cowboy by author Stacey Kennedy. This is actually my first book by this author. And I am now a new fan. What makes me even happier is there are a couple more sexy Blacksaw brothers that will indeed have their own books. This book was written well with a steady pace, some very sexy moments and just the right amount of angst. Told in both perspectives, first-person. I'm so happy I had the opportunity to read this author.

Emma and Shep.....

Emma has recently moved to town. She has inherited her grandmother's ranch, a place she loved to visit whenever she could and not often enough. Her move comes at a time in her life that she needed it. Previously living the professional, fast-paced and successful life in NYC, Emma needed to get away from the heartbreak of a former love. I won't go into the details as they are revealed during the story. But I will tell you, while Emma is dealing with a broken heart as well as her uncertain future, she does not need to get herself involved with a sexy, roping, dirty-talking cowboy.

Unfortunately the attraction and chemistry between Shep and Emma cannot be ignored.

Shep has a lot of responsibility on his strong, broad shoulders. I won't give anything away here either but I can tell you that when he meets Emma, Shep makes her one of his responsibilities. I absolutely loved the burn between these two. Their chemistry was believable, their feelings for each other genuine. Loved that Emma was smart and sassy and that while Shep was sexy and protective, he was also a gentleman.

We meet the rest of the Blacksaw family as well. I loved Shep's brothers and can't wait for their books. Another secondary character who I adored was Shep's mother. She was a fun character and her presence added some humor to the book as well. I recommend this book to anyone who loves romance and especially to those that love sexy cowboys that know their way around a rope. ;)

This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it. :)

Wow! I really enjoyed this book!!! Yes please!!!! Now this story I can get behind. It is a short story with a future series in the making. Emma was a strong female character she was hurt and was on the defensive. Shep was a strong alpha male cowboy!! That's all that needs to be said about that (DROP THE MIC)!! I read this pretty fast. It was hot and steamy this author has set up the by lines for the next books. I will be reading those as well. Worth the read!!!

I received this ARC from the publisher via Net Galley at my request. Thanks NET Galley!!!

This is my first time reviewing a Stacey Kennedy book, Dirty Talking Cowboy. I loved it!! Set in Colorado, Shep Blackwell meets Emma at The Kinky Spurs Bar. The Kinky Spurs is known for a sexy roping game among is customers. Emma gets paired up with Shep and lets just say Emma becomes a puddle of goo in Shep’s hands. Shep is a dirty-talking, alpha, who loves control in the bedroom and definitely has a heart of gold. The control that Shep displays in the bedroom is completely sensual and consensual with Emma. The love scenes are pretty steamy. Shep and his family is facing some tough times with the sudden loss of his father. Shep along with his mother and brothers must decide how to handle his father’s failing business while still achieving their dreams. Emma comes to River Rock to escape a humiliating breakup with her boss and loss of her job all while dealing with the sudden death of her beloved Grams. Fate throws Emma and Shep together again when he finds her being dragged by an abused horse that her Grams took in before her death. Shep helps both Emma and Bentley(the abused horse) learn to trust others and find their way in life. Emma must finally make a decision as to which life she wants, her new life in River Rock, Colorado or her old life in New York City when her ex shows up on her door step unexpectedly. To find out Emma’s choice and if Shep and his brothers save his dad’s business along with their dreams read Dirty Talking Cowboy. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I cannot wait for Chase and Harper’s book to come out!!

One smoking hot cowboy and one city girl with a broken heart have instant chemistry between them and their passion steams off the pages. There’s an emphasis on family in this book. You meet the Blackshaw brothers and their mother. The brothers are a big part of the story and their own stories will finish out the series. This is a very steamy cowboy romance read. If you don’t like hot love scenes then this isn’t the book for you. Dirty Talking Cowboy has well-developed and likable characters, family drama, emotional conflict, overcoming demons, romance, and HEA. Anyone who loves a hot cowboy story then I have no doubt you will love Dirty Talking Cowboy.

Emma moves back to River Rock to recover from her broken heart and mourn the loss of her beloved grandmother. She had a relationship with her boss that ended badly for her. She no longer trusts men and definitely is not looking for love. Shep has a business that keeps him busy, along with the recent passing of his father so he is also not looking for love either. Fate had something else in store for them though. They had great chemistry from the moment they say each other.

This book had great characters in it; Shep, Nash and Chase all were good, honest men. Shep was definitely an alpha male and made no bones about it. Emma was protected by Shep almost from the beginning and failed to notice it for a while. The Blackshaw men were interesting and had a great dynamic to them.

Emma was stuck in her head quite a bit in this book. She would question everything. It was somewhat understandable after what happened with Jake, but some of it was just plain adolescent behavior. She did try to find a new path for herself but seemed to be stuck on wanting her old life back at first.

Stacey Kennedy did a good job of making me find all of the characters likable. It seemed entirely possible for Shep and Emma to make drastic life changes after a short time. This book was an enjoyable read for me and I would recommend it. If you are looking for a dirty talking cowboy, this one is for you.

I received an ARC from NetGalley for my honest review.

4.5 stars

This was a case where I loved the book a lot better than I loved the title. You could reasonable expect someone who drops the F bomb every other, but instead, Shep Blackshaw is an upstanding guy with a strong sense of responsibility, a ton of patience and the dirty talking is designed to increase his lady's arousal. In this case, his lady is Emma Monroe, who was badly burned in her last relationship and fled a rewarding career in New York City to take over her grandmother's farm where she rescue's abused animals.

Shep and Emma are drawn to each other but she turns him down-until he begins helping her with an abused horse that has injured her. The relationship builds quickly in spite of the fact that Shep and his brothers are faced with a major dilemma involving their father's business and Emma isn't certain she wants to stay away from NYC. Then Emma's past throws a monkey wrench into the works. Can these two make a relationship work?

Both Emma and Shep are strong, compelling characters and their romance is heart-warming. Overall, this was a really good book, with some really hot sex scenes, characters that you care about, and an easy to follow plot.
