New author for me that have since got to know on Facebook and the RNA. Important to me that I love the characters in a book and I certainly did here. Also, loved the location. Always nice to be able to imagine I'm in a location I've never been to.
I really didn't know if I was going to,like this book. After the first two chapters, I loved it! The characters were well written and the setting was wonderful. I highly recommend this book. Give it a chance.
Sometimes it is best not to revisit the past. In Miriam's case, there are things that need to be resolved and going back to the idyllic place in Greece where she used to holiday before she was widowed has to be done. Strangely, her daughter and granddaughter don't want to return - there are secrets galore and a fear of what might be released if they return. I thoroughly enjoyed this multi-generational story and loved Ian Wilfred's characters. I read it on the plane going to Greece to whet my appetite and had finished it before we landed.
Thank you Net Galley. This book was very enjoyable. Even though I’ve never been to Greece,, I feel as though this story transported me there. Characters were enjoyable, just a nice read.
I found this book very disappointing. There was no emotion or connection with anything, it was all written as matter of fact. The connections didnt flow between the characters and i just well was bored by the whole thing.
The 3 women went to Greece but all were keeping secrets from each other. However the story jumps from one to the other in short paragraphs and it is written very sharply, there is no flow to the story, it was very disjointed. The Island of Hakanos could of been a wonderful setting but the author has absolutely no clue how to describe it whatsoever.
I cannot recommend this at all.
Great read for the summer. This book is for you if you love secrets. Wonderfully written. Great characters. Good plot. Loved the book cover it was just gorgeous
I really wanted to enjoy this book as I love stories set in Greece, sadly it wasn’t for me, there seemed to be a lot of jumping around and no real storyline, the book almost seemed to end half way through then start again. I just found it very difficult to read, but thank you for the opportunity.
How I managed to finish reading this book I will never know.
I found the writing to be heavily laboured and did not flow at all. There were times when I was utterly confused and couldn't figure out who had said what and to whom.
The characters were vile and I would run a mile from all of them if I were to meet them in real life.
Unfortunately I had trouble reading this book. The character's points of view switched so often I didn't know who was talking or whose head I was meant to be in. Very choppy.
Solid chick lit…doesn’t take itself too seriously! You’ll laugh, cry, and say “Oh! No!” Definitely a fun weekend read :c)
I have been struggling as to know what to write about this book without being unkind. They way some parts of the story are told, its like notes jotted down in a journal. It was also hard to keep track of who was talking to who at times. To be fair, the story lines are ok, it just wasn't my type of book.
I appreciate the opportunity to read and review but this book was not for me. Very all over the place and hard to know who was thinking and speaking in ones self. I finished but not very good. Of course that’s just my opinion. Not much of a story line.
Love fiction set in Greece. This was a light enjoyable read
Another enjoyable and lighthearted read.
The author’s writing style is simplistic in that he captures the essence of the characters as he details and describes their lives. At times, it feels like I’m reading an entry of the characters private thoughts in a diary. The story is about a group of people visiting a Greek island who need to let go of their past secrets that happened on the island and start to live for today. Amusing and believable individuals with added romance, humour and a voyage of self discovery for them all.
