That man was the physical form of halitosis.
“If I use some of your face stuff, will I grow ovaries?” “Nah,” she said, not lifting her eyes. “Just leave your man card on the table, and we’ll be even.”
“It’s gardenia,” she said, as she turned him around and began washing his back. “And it’s nice. I bet Lincoln would like it.” … “Because he’s like an old woman trapped in Clark Kent’s body,” Hunter grumbled.
My Review:
I have enjoyed each and every witty and amusing book in this series, as I adored each and every one of the enticing Oxford crew. I groove on Lauren Layne’s breezy writing style and clever humor. Her uniquely flawed yet endearing characters tend to be whip-smart, alluring, and more than capable of holding their own with snappy retorts and witty banter. If this is truly the last installment, I’ll miss this distinctive grouping of friends and beautiful New Yorkers.

I really enjoyed this book. This story follows Brit and Hunter who are BFFs. Brit wants to know why she gets relegated to friend material by the guys she dates. She is looking to change this and enlists the help of her friend, Hunter. Brutal honesty and hilarity ensues. The author does a great job of developing both main characters and peripheral/supporting characters. The budding romance is believable and I found myself cheering on Brit and Hunter. Overall this was a great read. It flowed nicely and I felt the ending wrapped up Brit and Hunter's story well. I would definitely recommend it to my girlfriends!

**Review is scheduled on blog for my date on the blog tour - 7/11**
I Think I Love You was a wonderful end to the Stiletto/Oxford Series. We got to catch up with every couple from the previous books, and I loved seeing all of the people I had fallen in love with. And while his book could easily be read as a standalone, I definitely recommend going back to the very beginning with Julie and Mitchell in After the Kiss from the Stiletto Series. Trust me, it's so worth it! This final book was about Hunter and Brit and their story was sexy, charismatic, funny and charming!
“Brit.” He waited until she looked at him. “That dress you’re wearing. I approve.”
“Yeah?” She mimicked his question from when she’d complimented his glasses.
“ Oh yeah.”
Brit suddenly couldn’t breathe, and her hands felt a little shaky, her face hot.
Well, then . . .
Well, then . . .
What did she do with that ?
And why did it make her feel like this ?
If you've read the previous books, you know that Hunter and Brit both work at Oxford and have been best friends for the last six years. But over that time, Brit's dating life had been dismal. She was desperate to figure out how to secure that second date, how to find a spark with someone else and ultimately feel sexy. Who better to ask to help her than her bff, Hunter! Right?
She stretched, the hem of her shirt riding up just enough to show a sliver of skin. A couple of weeks ago, he wouldn’t have noticed.
Now? He noticed.
And it wasn’t just that. He noticed the way she walked. The way a strand of hair tended to fall across her lips after she’d applied lip gloss and then laughed. He noticed the way she was with his family, as though she was a part of it. . . .
Brit tilted her head and gave him a curious look. “You okay?”
No. Not even fucking close.
While I ultimately knew how this book was going to end, I loved watching the journey. You see, Hunter and Brit didn't see each other as anything more than best friends. So while Hunter was helping Brit work on her dating skills, I loved how a moment or feeling would make them pause. And even second guess what happened. Because they shouldn't be feeling sexual tension or interest in each other right? They were just best friends, that was it. But the further they went down the road of helping Brit's dating life, there were more and more moments where electricity seemed to course between them.
Brit skated away, doing a little half jump, but Hunter remained still for a moment longer, a bit jarred by the fact that he hadn’t touched her because of her plan; he hadn’t been trying to teach her anything.
He’d touched her because he wanted to.
And he wanted to do it again.
From the previous book, I Knew You Were Trouble, I liked Brit. It was impossible not to like her loving, friendly attitude. She had this way of making you comfortable while also wanting to be her friend. She definitely rocked the girl next door vibe hard and I loved her for it. And when she was around Hunter, I loved their moments together. Their friendship felt so solid and real and I loved watching it slowly turn into something more.
Brit turned toward him, catching his eye and giving a wide smile.
Hunter’s chest tightened, and for an awful moment he wondered if it wasn’t his dick that was going to cause him the real trouble.
What if it was his heart?
Hunter at times tested my patience. He didn't always make the best choices and he could be clueless when it came to Brit. But he had a good heart and he loved her, so I was patient with him. Thank goodness he had great friends to help steer him in the right direction when needed! I actually loved being in Hunter's head, when we alternated between them, because his thoughts were so complicated. Yes he was sexy, loyal and tried to do right by Brit but I loved how honest he was with himself. So I easily saw all of the good that Brit saw in him and I kept my fingers crossed that it would all end up good in the end!
“Hunter,” Brit said with a laugh. This time she put her hands on his arms and actually tried to move him aside.
He still didn’t move.
She looked up, her expression confused. “Hunter?”
He stared down at her. Don’t do it. Don’t do it, man.
Fuck it.
Hunter bent down and captured her mouth with his.
I Think I Love You is definitely for those that love friends to lovers romances and who want to see what all of their favorites, from the previous books, are up to. This book was such a wonderful end to the Oxford and Stiletto saga and I'm so thankful that I got to go on this journey and discover so many books that I treasure with my whole heart. And if you haven't read the previous books in the series, I can't recommend them enough. They were absolutely amazing!

Another great installment for the Oxford series! Of course I'm sad to see this final one..... I will miss this world! While I enjoyed this book, I feel it might be in part because,I have loved, this and the stiletto series, rather than the actual book. At times it felt a little too cliche, a little too easy, but I'm willing to forgive it from this author. I loved the characters, I was happy to see Brit and Hunter get their HEA. So for me this was a winner.

I know reading Lauren Layne I'll never go wrong. Her stories always make me giggle a little, swoon and break my heart at times.
I Think I Love You is a great feel good story, another best friends to lovers story. I've read a few others in this series, but it's not necessary to do so. I've enjoyed all I've read though, so I wouldn't pass them up.
Brit and Hunter are best friends. Brit can't seem to keep a guy, but she's nearly perfect, but feels like a friend to every guy she dates and not girlfriend material. Hunter is a playboy. Brit schemes him to give her lessons. Of course, one thing leads to another and lines a blurred and life changes so quickly and drastically that you forget other peoples feelings. Brit and Hunter aren't sure where they go from here and if they go together or not.
Super quick, sweet read.

I Think I Love You is a super cute and fun friends to lovers standalone. It will make you laugh and your heart soar with the chemistry between Brit and Hunter.
I know that there are a million friends to lovers books out there but for some reason it just never gets old for me. Especially when you have an author like Layne who creates her characters so wonderfully that you can't help but fall in love with them all.
Brit has been living the life in New York City but she's had a bad run with the dating scene and she's searching for the one. When her latest guy dumps her, she makes it a mission to find out if the issue is her and she's determined to see what's going on. So naturally she asks her BFF Hunter to help her out.
Hunter doesn't want to help Brit at all. He knows it will cross lines and quite frankly doesn't think she needs to do this exercise but when he sees she's going to do it with or without him, he gives in. Now the problem is that he's figured out he wants her for himself.
I just loved the dynamic between these two. It's fun and flirty. We also get more of the rest of the gang from the series and it's always fun when they get together.
Overall I enjoyed I Think I Love You. If you want a sweet and fun friends to lovers romance then you don't want to miss out on this baby!

This is the fifth book in the Oxford series and each book is a standalone. I have enjoyed reading all the books in this engaging series about a group of people who work together at Oxford magazine and become good friends. They help each other through bad times and celebrate the happy times and love to give their opinions about everything.
Hunter and Britt work together at Oxford, the countries leading men’s magazine and they are also best friends. Britt wants to improve her dating skills and asks Hunter for help. She wants a man’s perspective on what men look for in a woman and she wants to learn the techniques on how to seduce a man. Britt doesn’t understand why she always ends up in the friend zone. She wants to feel sexy and she also wants other men to see her as sexy. Hunter is Britt’s best friend and is uncomfortable with helping Britt but doesn’t want her to go to someone else for help, so he reluctantly agrees. Over time, they start to feel something or each other.
Britt and Hunter take a journey. They have always been best friends, until things change and we watch as they struggle to deal with their new feelings. Once they realize their feelings for each other have changed, they are uncomfortable and not sure what to do or if they should share how they feel. This is a sweet, fun story with colorful secondary characters. While I enjoyed the story, I had a hard time connecting to Hunter and Britt.

I received I Think I Love You by Lauren Layne from NetGalley in exchange for a fair review. This is the 5th and last book in her Oxford Series but can be read alone as I have never read anything by Lauren Layne. However, ALL the other couples from the series are in the book as they are a close knit friends circle. I will be going back and reading all the other stories.
Brit Robbins and Hunter Cross are best friends that work at Oxford together. After Brit has a string of break ups with "let's be friends" card, she enlist Hunter to help her turn sexy. At first, Hunter turns her down, however, when he sees Brit flirting with another man, he steps in "for Brit's protection." When the lessons start, the heat between these two explode. But Hunter knows he is going home so can he continue falling for Brit, and leading her on, if there isn't a future for them?
Wonderful slow burn romance between two people who truly start as friends. It is difficult to balance that male/female friendship in the beginning but I think Layne did it perfectly showing the ease of friendship. Wonderful heat as the relationship evolved and conflict between the two seem genuine. On a side note, THIS COVER IS EVERYTHING!!! So Sexy and appealing and the reason I even requested this book. I am looking forward to reading more by Lauren Layne. #IThinkILoveYou #NetGalley

What a great wrap up to this series!
I always catch myself smiling as I read a book by Lauren Layne. They just make me happy. I loved Brit and Hunter and watching them fall in love was sweet. Hunter was a bit of a butt there at the end and made me a little mad, but he totally made up for it.

The dating world is not what it used to be. For some women you want to make sure the man has a great time and continuously are trying to make them feel at ease. This has become an issue for Brit, she is continuing to date these men who begin to see her as only a friend, when she wants love.
She asks her best male friend Hunter to help her out by being her "love coach" and helping her to figure out what is harming her chances of finding love. However the further into this coaching they get, the more obvious it becomes that there may be something more between the two.
People always say fall in love with your best friend but will Hunter and Brit find love where they least expected it?

I can always count on Lauren Layne to deliver a charming story to take my mind off things for a couple of hours a day. Though I wasn't the biggest fan of the previous book, The Oxford series remains one of my favorite series from her. Going into I Think I Love You was a bit of a bittersweet experience since this was the last book, but I thought Layne wrapped it up solidly.
In I Think I Love You, we have a friends-to-more romance, which in my opinion is an underrated trope. I was eager to find out how Hunter and Brit, who we met in the previous book, would move past their friendship to more. It's a slow process here, but so worth the wait. Brit is living the life - she has a good job, lives in her dream city, has fabulous friends and is generally happy. For some reason though, men don't take her seriously and she is often friend-zoned. She wants to change that, and she decides to enlist her best friend, Hunter's, help to teach her how to seduce a man and feel sexy. Nothing sounds like it could go sour with that plan! ;) I enjoyed Brit's character a lot. She's a sweet girl who has some self-confidence issues because of not being able to move beyond the friend-zone. She's dedicated, hardworking and is a good person, so I certainly wanted her to find her happily ever after. With Hunter's help, she begins to gain a confidence that she didn't possess and we see her really flourish.
At first, Hunter is extremely reluctant about Brit's plan, but he eventually gives in and agrees to teach her the ropes. It's incredibly awkward at first and I actually appreciated how it wasn't entirely smooth-sailing for them. It takes time for the chemistry to start building beyond the friendly banter. And boy does it grow! Layne is good at writing romantic tension between her couples and Brit and Hunter have really good chemistry. It was fun for me as a reader to watch their friendship evolve into so much more. It was so obvious to me what a good couple Brit and Hunter made. I always love romances where the couple is only pretending to be in a relationship, but then real feelings bubble to the surface and they don't know what to do with all these new emotions. It was very entertaining here. I was also pleased to see the rest of the Stiletto and Oxford gang. These friends always make me smile and I'm going to miss them like hell.
I Think I Love You was another Lauren Layne winner for me. She's the queen of rom-com for a reason. If you're looking for a good friends-to-more romance, I Think I Love You is the book for you.

I was totally swept away with this friends to lovers story. This was so sexy, so hot, and so sweet, I couldn’t put it down. Lauren Layne brings it once again. Filled with sexy, flirty, and witty banter and innuendo that will make your heart flutter, leave you breathless and loving every word. And that is why for me, Lauren Layne’s books are a automatic purchase.
Britt Robbins is tired of being, single. Her last three boyfriends had all gave her the talk, telling her that she was a great girl, but they just weren’t feeling it. What was wrong with her, guys never saw her as girlfriend material, she was always in the perpetual friend zone. What was she lacking, or missing? She needed a plan, she needed to make guys start seeing her as a woman rather than just a friend. Britt needed a lesson in the art of seduction. And she knew exactly who could help her, Hunter Cross her best friend.
Poor Hunter, his feelings for Britt has always been platonic, but he wasn’t stupid. He just doesn’t get why, any guy wouldn’t see that they were lucky to have a girl like Britt. But when she ropes him in to help her work on her “A” game he soon finds himself, seeing Britt, in a whole new light. Britt is awesome with her next door, girl charm as she finds out her sexy Hunter is really a sweetheart and seeing him fight his feelings for his best friend is touching and emotional. And when they are together they are hot, hot, hot! But what happens, when Hunter must return home, to run the family company? You have got to read this to find out.
I absolutely loved this book, not only did we see Brit and Hunter’s story, but I also got to connect with all the other Stiletto and Oxford couples as they make appearances throughout the story and see where they are in their lives. And it was great to see that they are all, still very much in love. It was the perfect conclusion to these series, it was like going home again. (sigh) Beautiful Story! Happy Reading Everyone!
I voluntarily read and reviewed, an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

3.5 Stars
Lauren Layne's books are the kind I go to when I am in the mood for a romance with a classic structure - everything that happens in the book is typical for the specific trope it was written for, the HEA is guaranteed and the heat level is 99% sweet (on my personal heat scale). I Think I Love You fits all of these things exactly: a classic friends-to-lovers romance with the familiar plot of girl asks best guy friend for tips on how to catch a man during the course of which they realize they love each other instead. This book had the added bonus of being the end of the Oxford/Stiletto series of standalones featuring characters who work in the same place, each book centering on a different couple. Fans of the series will enjoy all of those recurring characters' appearances. As someone who has read a few, but not all, of that series, I can vouch for this being easily read without having read the entire series. While my personal tastes have evolved to generally prefer books a little (really, a lot) more dirty and less perfectly structured, I can't deny there is a comfort in returning to the familiarity of this type of romance for me, and though I didn't enjoy it as much as some of her other books (Walk of Shame, for example, which was a 5 star for me) I'm still happy to have read it.
I received an unedited copy of this book from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving my thoughts on the book.,

I Think I Love You can be read as a stand alone but is the last book in the Oxford Series. I’ve jumped around thru the series and really had no issue following along.
Hunter and Brit are best friends who have never thought about stepping outside their comfort zone. When Brit has had enough of the endless dates that turn into nothing, she turns to Hunter, her best friend, to help her learn how to date and be sexy for men. Until...you guessed it...they start to have feelings for one another.
While the story was somewhat predictable, this was a really cute and fun couple to watch try to navigate their dating lives without letting each other know how they truly felt. Toss in a tiny bit of drama and overall, it was an enjoyable book!
I Think I Love You was a great friends to lovers story and the final book in the Oxford series!

I Think I Love You is a fun and easy read. It is a friends to lovers book and it kept me engaged and interested from beginning to end.
I liked both Hunter and Brit and I enjoyed seeing the characters from the previous books in the series as well. I will be honest that I would have scored it a star lower if it wasn't part of such a strong series. It's a good book, but it definitely didn't blow me away, though I'm glad that I read it.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes contemporary romance.
I received an ARC in exchange of my honest review.

Wrapping up the Oxford series we hit on a friends to lovers story with a twist. Brit and Hunter have been friends, just platonic friends for a while now. Not surprising as Brit is friends with just about everyone. It’s just strange that she and Hunter have never crossed the line. She’s tired of it all, though: she wants to be wanted and be in love like her friends. And, when the latest ‘prospect’ dumped her, she’s feeling like it is a problem with her. If only she knew how to move from the friendly banter she has with everyone, and find a way to femme fatale……
Hunter is a chick magnet, but in a way that doesn’t make him one of those ‘poster boys for douchery’. He’s content with the friendship with Brit – in fact, it’s nice to have a female’s perspective when she’s got no ulterior motives where he’s concerned. And he trusts Brit to be his friend, and that they can share everything, implicitly. But, when her last option heads south for greener pastures, and she asks him to show her just what men want, and how she can seduce them with an eye to more – he’s conflicted. He helps, but he’s conflicted.
Of course, we all know that the lessons bring them both to new revelations: perhaps Brit’s looking outside of the office for a new man that isn’t her boss isn’t what she wants after all. But, will Hunter stop being immovable in the face of her more ‘obvious’ plays for him, or can they find a way to discover one another along with a hope for the future? Told in 3rd person POV, the story is light and quick, with plenty of moments from the whole crew that we’ve met earlier, showing connections and friendships as they’ve grown and developed over the years. Brit is particularly adorable with her series of challenges as she is trying to epitomize the standards she believes are needed to achieve her goals. And when she starts to set her sights on Hunter, the awkwardness of her ‘new skills’ combined with Hunter’s hands-off policy just show the sweetness of their relationship as it is, and what it could be. A solid conclusion to the series, and sure to bring a tear to many as they think of another series end.
I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

I'm not as up to date with this series but I've liked the ones I've read. It's easy to follow so no problem. Right away I liked the rapport between Brit and Hunter, they have this great dynmaic as friends so when Brit needs help with dating she turns to her best friend Hunter. I usually like this trope the friends to lovers via helping the other find a guy and them fall for the other in the process. Here it's quite obvious that these two could be good as a couple and whole plan of Brit's opened her eyes to what was there all along.
Ah but like the usual it takes a while for things to develop here and them to get it together, I wanted to shove them at times. But there's no fun in that. It's pretty cute these two are close naturally they work even if they took the long road to get to where they are. They made the transition to lovers smooth enough but the more part was a bit shaky.
The ending was perfect wrap up for this series for sure though. The friendships built over this series culminated wonderful lasting relationships from all sorts of characters. Lauren Layne has a great niche in this series and I always enjoy her writing, this series was a good mix of characters

Lesson in Love Backfires could be another title for I Think I Love You by Lauren Layne. It is a fun sassy read concerning two best friends. Both have reasons for not finding love in New York. One is unhappy with the situation, making plans to remedy that. Of course, best friend is involved, with the results being delightful.
Hunter Cross and Brit Robbins’ story is quick paced, but this actually works well since they have been friends before the story begins. It has planet of the sass that I associate with Ms. Layne’s writing, then turning serious suddenly. True contemporary romance with the young professional crowd.

Ms. Layne has done it again. She has mastered the friends to lovers genre so beautifully. I always look forward to the witty banter in her books. I can't help but think that this conversation is something that I would actually have in real life.
Ms. Layne develops her characters so well that even if they are just secondary characters in another book, you can't help but be invested in them and start wanting to read their story. This was how Brit and Hunter got their story.

So, I’ve been with the Oxford and Stilettos gang from the he beginning. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed each book and couple...cried, laughed, yelled on occasion, you get the picture. I thought it all ended with Lincoln and Daisy’s story. But then Ms. Layne had to give us one more story...and I’m glad she did!
I’m not going to pretend I was craving a Brit and Hunter pairing, because I tend to focus on the couple I’m reading and no one else. I honestly don’t remember much about Brit and frankly only slightly more about Hunter. But that doesn’t matter because from page 1, I was all in on their friends-to-lovers storyline.
This is my favorite trope so I am very fussy about how they are written. In my opinion, for it to be done right, that lightbulb moment of attraction needs to come out of left field. Not that as a reader you couldn’t see the setup comes my a mile away...the “help me seduce guys” plea from Brit was a match just waiting to be lit. Will some think it’s cliche, sure. But there’s got to be a spark lit somehow, and just hanging out, watching movies and eating pizza isn’t going to get the job done.
I loved Brit and Hunter’s chemistry once that spark was lit. The pacing was good, it neither dragged or felt rushed. As a fan of the series, I love seeing old friends pop in...but I need to re-read them all now! So as much as I’m sad that I Think I Love You is the last in the series, I feel better knowing I can revisit them again.
Great read, great series, great author...doesn’t get better than that! Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC, but all opinions expressed are my own
