After finding the author's last book disappointing, this book was for me a good comeback. Full of mystery and suspense. This is a book I would recommend to all.

I was fortunate to receive this novel from Netgalley.com as an Advance Reader Copy, in exchange for an objective review.
Kendra Michaels is a music therapist with a special gift for sensing and observing things that escape the average person. Kendra was born blind, but a miraculous stem cell treatment restored her sight. Now she uses her special abilities to help the FBI. Adam Lynch is a former FBI operative, and he and Kendra have a mutual respect and have worked together in the past. This respect has moved into something deeper.
A young woman with a gunshot wound is running from her killer and runs into a city street where she is struck by a car and killed. The police find an envelope addressed to Kendra, but Kendra did not know the woman. The envelope holds a flash drive of a wedding reception video that Kendra doesn't know. Lynch and Michaels start to trace the bride and groom and find out that the bride has been kidnapped. At the bottom of everything is a ruthless organization that will stop at nothing to preserve itself and its secrets. As the story moves along so does the relationship between Kendra and Adam. The book is great and Iris Johnansen never fails to deliver a great story with fabulous characters.

Double Blind – Iris Johansen & Roy Johansen

I was fortunate to receive this novel from Netgalley.com as an Advance Reader Copy, in exchange for an objective review.

Kendra Michaels is a music therapist with a special gift for sensing things that others cannot. Born blind, she honed her other senses as a child, before a miraculous stem cell treatment restored her sight. As a result, her special abilities are frequently called upon by the FBI.

Adam Lynch is a former FBI operative, who now freelances wherever needed. He and Kendra have a mutual respect – and something more – that Kendra declines to examine too closely. Kendra calls upon him frequently to hone her self defense skills. They are working on such, as the novel opens.

Meanwhile, a young woman with a gunshot wound is fleeing her killer, desperate to get an envelope to Kendra. She bursts out of an alley, and into a city street where she is struck by a vehicle and killed. The police find the envelope addressed to Kendra, but Kendra is mystified. She did not know the woman, and the enclosed flash drive holds only the video of a wedding reception, for a couple that Kendra has never met. Intrigued by the situation, both Kendra and Adam begin to investigate.

Then the bride of the video is seemingly kidnapped from her home, and a quest for answers leads to a near death experience for both Kendra and Adam. As they race to find answers, they find themselves pitted against a powerful organization that seemingly will stop at nothing to keep some secrets buried…

This book takes off like a runaway train and doesn’t stop until you turn the last page! Strong heroic characters, relentless action, and enough sexual tension to keep you coming back for more! I can’ wait for the next installment of the Kendra Michaels series!! A great read!!

Amazing!!! I have come to love the books about Kendra as much as I do the books about Eve Duncan. Each one gets better and more exciting. Double Blind did not disappoint. I love the dynamic between Kendra and Lynch. I am already anticipating the next book and I will read it the minute that it releases. Don't hesitate to get this book!

This is another spine tingling adventure for Kendra Michaels who uses her unique skills to track down a serial killer who's hunting in her city. This is not the first time Kendra has been a target, in fact she's used up at least twenty six lives already. Her loyal friends have her back as they help her hunt the killer. Heads up! this is a two part book so the conclusion to this one is a bit of a cliff hangar leaving readers on edge waiting for the next part of which there is no date yet.

What's unique about an innocuous wedding picture that a young woman died trying to get to Kendra? On the surface nothing appears to be extraordinary until one by one members of the wedding party start dropping like flies. Kendra is stumped and even bringing in her friend and detective Jessie Mercado and Adam's contacts and skills doesn't seem to be helping.
As always, Kendra's skills in tracking down clues is extraordinary but somehow Kendra seems to be off her game this time around especially when the killer begins to target messages to her that no one else can track. All bets are off however when the killer targets her nearest and dearest. In the midst of all of this the tempo of Kendra's relationship with Adam finally seems to be taking on a deeper cast.
I really enjoy reading about Kendra pulling a rabbit out of a hat with her analysis of crime scenes and being able to piece together clues and get answers to questions that leave crime scene techs baffled. There isn't a lot of that this time around instead we have a lot of hot and heavy swat and FBI raids that don't seem to go anywhere. Never the less Kendra gets the job done and it's her Spidey senses honed during her blindness that gets her there but...…..
Not only did I gnaw on my finger nails when I got to the end to find the to be continued but there is no date for when we'll get this next installment. I truly believe that authors should not wait more than a few months between installments for their fans.

Double Blind is the sixth book in the Kendra Michaels series. This is a fast paced thriller that keeps you guessing until the very end.
Kendra isn’t thrilled to be working with the FBI again but when a girl is murdered and had a wedding video that the girl was trying to get to Kendra for help she feels obligated to help solve the murder. While helping the FBI she reconnects with her friend, Adam Lynch an realizes that she cares for him more than he ever thought possible. The book leaves us with Kendra, Adam, & their friend Jessie heading to Afghanistan for their final adventure.
I was given this ARC by Netgalley & St.Martin’s Press for an honest review. I recommend his to anyone who likes thriller/suspense books.

DOUBLE BLIND will have you on the edge of your seat! There is nothing normal or simple about this case, nor are the emotional twists and turns that Kendra will be forced to go through that will leave you winded with her.

The danger is dark, with a lot of DOUBLE BLIND's being thrown out to keep the readers just a little off balance by what happens next. It's great when a mystery can't be easily solved by the reader, and with this one there was no way to do so until the author's let us see the truth.

If you want a dark, edgy, amazing read with characters that will stick with you, then DOUBLE BLIND is just what you need.

I always enjoy the Kendra Michaels books so was happy to see a new one. My favorite parts are always where Kendra uses her senses to discover things most people don't notice. There didn't seem to be as much of that in this book but there was plenty of suspense and action. The narrative bogged down for me somewhat halfway through with too much explanation and repeating of how much Olivia meant to Kendra, how much Kendra meant to Adam, how much Adam was starting to mean to Kendra, etc. etc. etc. I'll admit I always prefer the mystery side of these books to the romance which somehow feels forced. But this is an entertaining book as all in this series are and it kept me turning the pages. Alas, now we have to wait for the next book for conclusions!

Wow, I really enjoyed reading this book! I really enjoyed seeing these two together, the dance that they're doing of having a romantic relationship gets ever closer, which is so great to read! Plus there's a very interesting mystery, which I loved reading!

The mystery in this book, that this woman is killed with a video of a wedding reception and then those in the video are killed? Yeah, it's random, and that makes it all the more difficult! I really enjoyed the investigation and where it lead, because this was a bad guy and group that deserved to be taken down!

Yeah, we have Jessie again in this book! And things are personal in this book. And I can totally understand why, the whole situation was really frustrating! I mean, they were basically screwed over, and a chance to get back at them, yeah, I was like, go for it!

Yeah, with the ending of this book, it's a bit different. I would say it was more like the ending of Night Watch, where things aren't totally resolved, that there's still things to do, but yeah, overall, it's a pretty satisfying ending, and I Really enjoyed reading it!

This book was so amazing, and yeah, I can't wait for the next book!

2.5 hearts

I love this Kendra Michaels series and I have practically devoured each book. Kendra is exciting to watch because she uses all her senses to deduce what is going on in the world and in FBI cases she is often asked to work. There's action, mystery, intelligent casework and a nice group of family and friends. Adam Lynch is often involved with Kendra's cases and adds sexual tension and humor.

There has been a will they or won't they with Adam in all the previous books. The longer this has continued, the more I have tired of it. Kendra's reasons are unreasonable. A person feels what they feel and telling yourself you don't or won't feel is stupid. Now choosing your actions, no matter what you feel is quite normal. But lying to yourself and others about how you feel seems immature.

In Double Blind, a woman was murdered bringing information to Kendra. So Kendra must involve herself with solving the murder, which turns out to be murders. I didn't think she really HAD to get involved as she has her music therapy practice, but this is the story.

I didn't feel Kendra used her skills as much in this story. It mainly surfaced as more of a parlor trick when she met someone new as a verification of her credentials. The procedures they followed to solve the case didn't seem very smart or organized this time. Kendra also wasn't as smart about her safety or that of her friends and family.

The ending left with Kendra going with Adam to assist with his situations. I'm thrilled to see her finally taking that step and hope the relationship will be more authentic in the future. I greatly look forward to the next book, although this is my least favorite in the series.

It's just a couple of years ago that I read my first Iris Johansen book. It was an Eve Duncan book and I just loved it since then have I read several from that series and some from this the Kendra Michael series.

Kendra Michaels was born blind, but she got her sight back as an adult and she has a keen sense for details that other miss which help a lot when FBI needs her help. Like this time when a woman is killed just a couple of blocks from Kendra's Condo. A woman carrying an envelope with Kendra's name on it.

The beginning of the book was intriguing. Kendra was given a video of a wedding and she has no clues as to why since she doesn't know who the woman who was killed. Nor does she recognize anyone at the wedding. So, first, must they figure out who the people at the wedding are.

Beside the case is Kendra dealing with her "relationship" with Adam Lynch. The attraction is there, but she has trouble giving in to him. Perhaps this case will bring them together. I love that private investigator Jessie Mercado has a part in this story. I would love to see her get her own book (or series) someday.

The case was the best when everything was still unknown. The reason for the death of the woman (and the later ones killed) was a bit of a disappointment. I was hoping for a more conspiratorial angle rather than the one that the book presented. Still, I liked the book and I'm looking forward to the next one!

Another great read in the Kendra Michaels series! This is the perfect blend of suspense, intrigue, and romance. Plenty of twists to keep the reader guessing. These are great characters that I can't wait to read again. I have read the entire series, but, if you are new to the series you can easily follow along without reading the previous books. Highly recommend this one! I received an ARC. This is my honest review.

I enjoyed this Kendra Michaels book much more than the other one I had read before. I like the combination of Adam Lynch and Kendra. They are both tough and she doesn’t back down no matter what.
I like that Kendra is a strong female with a mind of her own who does what she wants. She was blind before but she was still strong and she relies on those senses even now that she can see.
Kendra fight for her friends and for those she cares about. She’s there for them and she won’t be left out of things.
I love the chemistry that sizzles between Kendra and Adam. This was a page turner and I didn’t want it to end.
I highly recommend this book.

So many good parts I don’t know where to begin. I always expect well developed characters and an engaging story from IJ and this story does not disappoint! Kendra has been a favorite female character ever since we first met her. She is smart, feisty, loyal, humorous and diligent in her pursuit to figure things out. Lynch is almost the epitome of arrogant and cocky, but there is something about his responses to Kendra, Jessie, Olivia and a few others that always have me re-evaluating him and loving his character and role in these stories.

Action packed and full of questions I was kept guessing and working to solve how things would happen the entire book. A perfect balance of the thriller with relationship moments between Kendra and her Mom, Kendra and Olivia, Kendra with Jessie and of course Kendra and Lynch. This story builds off of the other stories in the Kendra series as well since we see how all of Kendras friends and circle are growing together as well. While this can be read as a stand-alone, I would encourage you to read all of the Kendra books in order as they do show a progression of the relationships and trusts which enrich this new adventure.

I highly recommend this book and would like to thanks NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the chance to read the book and share my opinions!

This is the first book that I've read of this series so at times I felt a little lost. I would recommend reading the series in order to understand all that is happening. Kendra Michaels is a fascinating character! Lots of twists in this thriller and a little in the dark side. Recommended!

A book that is very excting and full of suspense, it's a real page turner.
This book had me hooked since the first pages and I'd to end it as soon as I could as I was really invested in the plot and the characters.
It was the first one I read in this series but I'd no problems in understanding the characters and their relationships.
The plot was very good and full of twists and turns.
Highly recommended!
Many thanks to .St. Martin's Press and Netgalley for this ARC

Iris and Roy Johansen have really written an awesome book here.Have always loved their books. Action packed, with twists and turns I wasn’t expecting. Kendra Michaels is back and stronger than ever, her senses being finely honed due to being blind for most of her life. This book does not disappoint and keeps you in suspense.

When a young woman is found dead with Kendra Michaels address in her purse and a USB stick in her hand the FBI decides to call on Kendra to see if she can help. Since Kendra has helped the FBI before she knows that she must now find out who and why this woman had her name. This begins the start of a race against time and with the help of ex-FBI agent Adam Lynch, she is determined to get answers.
I have read Iris Johansen's books for years and have enjoyed almost all of them, the action in the book draws you in but the romance part is not my style of reading. I find all the sexual tension doesn't compliment the action story.
