This is the third book in the series, Love Over Duty series by Scarlett Cole. Although I had read the previous books when they came out, it had been long enough between books that I felt as if I was reading a total standalone. Cabe is a part owner of a Security firm he started with his 2 best friends when they got out of the Seals. Amy is an agent for the FBI, and although their missions are different, they are working together. Amy goes undercover in this op, and although there is a powerful connection between these two, for many reasons they have to keep everything on the down low. That actually doesn’t work very well. This was a good story, with a bit of romantic suspense with Amy being undercover. It was an enjoyable fast read for me. Once I started reading, I did remember the other couples, but this story was totally about Cabe and Amy. They had enough baggage between them to overcome, so that the story stayed on the couple and the Op.

I loved Cabe and Amy. The chemistry was fantastic and this book is full of suspense that will keep you reading until the very end.

I give this 5 out of 5.

The guys from Eagle Securities are back for the final instalment of the Love Over Duty series and the focus is on Cabe Moss. All novels are standalone although there's a connecting plot thread which ties them together. I've read the previous novels and recommend them as highly as this one.

FBI Agent Amy Murray is newly transferred to San Diego, after leaving her post in Atlanta under a cloud. She's eager to shake off the past and prove her worth and when she's asked to go undercover for an assignment, she knows this is the opportunity she's waited for. However, she didn't expect to fall under the spell of Cabe Moss who is part of the operation. He's someone who respects her competence for the role she must play and somehow he steals her heart too.

Working an assignment alongside 'G-men' isn't an ideal situation, so Cabe Moss is pleasantly surprised when he meets Agent Murray. He's impressed with her professionalism and skills to undertake her assigned undercover role...she's a distraction he didn't account for particularly when it stirs up mixed emotions of desire and guilt.

Exciting and fast-paced, the sizzling chemistry sparking between the protagonists adds to the thrilling suspense as the Eagle Security guys embark on a new mission; bringing closure to them all for varying reasons. For Cabe, he finally finds peace with a tragic event in his past and allows himself to open his heart again. Meanwhile, Amy finally shakes off the discriminations which have blighted her career so far and finally proves her worth.

I particularly like the balance of the writing with more emphasis on the suspense rather than the romance. Yes, we are very aware of the difficulties the protagonists are facing relating to the balance between their work and the sexual tension which sparks between them. However, the action takes precedence. In addition, the camaraderie between the Cabe, Six and Mac is second to none; they've known each other since kindergarten and particularly enjoyed the scenes where the three of them exchange lively banter.

If you're looking for an exceptional romantic suspense series to read, Love Over Duty series is definitely worth reading. As a fan of Scarlett Cole's writing, I'm tentatively waiting for her next book release.

This story took me a little while to catch my interest and to fall into the story. The leading characters were interesting and I really enjoyed the heroine’s skills. The secondary characters make the story even better and intrigued me enough to want to read their stories. This was an enjoyable story.
I received an advanced copy from NetGalley for an honest review.

Great end of this series. This was Cabe's story and I think may have been my favorite. He had his emotional issues to work through but doesn't everyone. He meets Amy an FBI agent who will be working on this new part of the case but still pertaining to Lou's and Delany's case as well. The chemistry and story line was great between the two and the amount of suspense Ms. Cole puts in her books are just enough to keep your attention. In this final book all the questions were answered that were left over from the other two books. Hope there is a spin off series or something-hate to see everyone gone. Honest review in exchange for ARC.

FBI Special Agent Amy Murray, and former Navy SEAL Gabe Moss are assigned to work a case with different objectives. There are women disappearing from a high stakes casino, with no witnesses or clues, and no dead bodies. This same casino is suspected of laundering large amounts of money for the Russian Mafia.
Amy and Gabe are wildly attracted to each other, but Gabe has to keep her safe and not be distracted by his emotions.

So great to connect with all the guys and their women from Eagle Security. This book is filled with action, sexy romance and suspense.
This is the third in the series, but can be read as a standalone. Don’t miss out on the first two!

Scarlett Cole's Deep Cover is a fast paced read that brings together two of the most unlikely suitors. Amy and Cabe both have their reasons for resisting the attraction that sparks between them at first sight. When they discover they're working together to gain evidence on missing women and money laundering, the close proximity makes those reasons fade little by little. On one hand, I appreciate a heroine who knows what she wants, but on the other hand, I find it hard to respect a heroine who doesn't stick to her guns. At least enough to show that she has some intention of actually keeping her word. If Amy hadn't set clear guidelines with Cabe before giving in to him right away, I would've just brushed it aside. I get it if she changes her mind, but it was really just wasted reading time since as soon as she declared Cabe off limits she hopped into bed with him. I just thought, why bother?

That aside, the story zooms alongside as Cabe's security team works with the FBI and other agencies to get to an organization they've been chasing since the first Love Over Duty novel. While readers can easily jump in here without reading the previous novels, Deep Cover still explains who they're after, why, and how it ties in with the newest release. This is the kind of romantic suspense that doesn't delve deep into mystery, like the disappearance of Amy's mother, but instead focuses on the right now. Right now, Amy has to find leads into the recent disappearance of two women from a casino and Cabe is following a money laundering lead. So, it's pretty straight forward. All readers have to do is sit back and enjoy the action!

I can say with absolute certainty that Scarlett Cole is my queen of suspense. I love how her stories are not only highly entertaining but also well researched and emotionally charged. I was looking forward to this final installment in the Love over Duty series with great excitement. I'm very happy to report that it has surpassed my high expectations. I was once again blown away by this author's exceptional storytelling and skillful creation of complex, intriguing characters. The interesting plot kept me on my toes and the unexpected twists and turns made my heart race.

Ex-Navy SEAL Cabe Moss always puts duty first. He is a responsible and capable man and a very valuable asset to his team. Not long ago his beloved fiancée's death nearly destroyed him. But Cabe won’t allow his past to interfere with his work at Eagle Securities. When his latest task pushes him to team up with beautiful and alluring FBI Agent Amy Murray on an undercover mission to bust an illegal gambling ring while also trying to resolve the mystery behind several young women suddenly disappearing without a trace, Cabe must admit that for the first time in years, he wants to do more than just complete a job...

There is a very important reason why Amy is so committed to her job. But her ambition has often been overlooked by her male colleagues due to her looks. When she is specifically chosen for a dangerous mission she vows to give it all and finally show the others that she is a good agent. The only downside is that she needs to work with Caleb - a strong and frustratingly professional private security guy. A liason between them is currently forbidden. They need to focus on their task. But that's easily said than done when sparks begin to fly. Their lives may be in danger, but their hearts hold the biggest risk of all…

I adored Cabe. He was such an amazing hero - courageous and honorable, understanding and supporting. I loved it that he understood Amy and wanted her to be successful in her job and get the recognition she deserves for her hard work. He once lost a woman he loved deeply and it was therefore hard for him to build a relationship with somebody who has a dangerous profession.

Amy was an admirable heroine. She was smart, self-confident and compassionate. Amy could understand Cabe and his fears. She knew that by allowing something to develop between them she could not only endanger the mission but also themselves. But in the end love won over duty. They truly found in each other their missing half.

I've enjoyed this series thoroughly and am sad that it has come to an end. I recommend it to not only hardcore Scarlett Cole fans but all lovers of romance novels who appreciate an action filled story with amazing characters. You won't regret it! I'm giving Deep Cover 5 well deserved stars.

Deep Cover is book three in the suspenseful and highly addictive Love Over Duty series by Scarlett Cole. I'm a huge fan of this versatile and super talented author. Her books are never boring. They have depth and are absolutely intriguing. You can tell she does a lot of research on the topics she writes about. Her characters are loveable and feel real. It's easy to sympathize with them and care about them deeply. From the two previous books we know that Cabe Moss is an ex Navy Seal that lost his fiancé recently. I always wanted to hear his story and felt so sorry for his loss. I was sincerely hoping that he will get a HEA like his friends and co-workers Six and Mac. Luckily Scarlett didn't let me down. She gave him a second chance at love. And what an amazing second chance that was! It totally surpassed my expectations!

Even though the death of his fiancé nearly destroyed him, Ex-Navy SEAL Cabe Moss refuses to let his past interfere with any work that needs to get done. After all he is a professional at his job. When his latest task pushes him to team up with FBI Agent Amy Murray, a blond and fierce beauty with exceptional skills, Cabe must admit that for the first time in years, he wants to do more than just complete their mission together.

Amy was born ready for this special assignment. Her own past shaped her into the person she is today and resulted in her joining the FBI. Working side-by-side with the handsome, strong and frustratingly professional Cabe shouldn't be such a challenge, right? But resisting him and the incredible chemistry between them seems to be the biggest challenge of her life.

Prepare for a story with a lot of mind-blowing twists and turns that will make you bite your nails off. I was glued to my kindle from page one, anxiously turning the pages in anticipation what will happen next. I love it when a book consumes me this way.

The thing I loved most about Deep Cover was that Scarlett Cole didn't only write a hot, strong and irresistible alpha hero Cabe. She also gave us a strong, fierce and intelligent heroine that was more than just a beautiful face. I loved their dynamic! There was a deep connection between them that was more than physical attraction. They were simply inevitable!

I'm sad to see this amazing series coming to an end. It's one of the best I've ever had the pleasure to read and I recommend it from the bottom of my heart. 5 stars for Cabe and Amy!

Scarlett Cole gives us a good look into a military romance and what it takes to make one work.  From having been there I can say she did a good job conveying how hard it is when loved ones go away for long periods of time and work in dangerous jobs.  There is always the feeling they won't come back and this romance addresses how to handle that and how to come back from loss as well.

The romance is hot and sweet all at the same time.  Both are dealing with some tough issues and trying to figure out how to make their relationship work, and if it is even worth the effort.  She makes her characters stay honest with one another and face their feelings as well as each other which from my opinion is the best way to build a strong lasting relationship.

I've been together with my hubby for 20 years and I think it is why we've lasted this long.  Trust is hard to come by, but when you have it, hang on to it.  With my anniversary just around the corner, this one was a little poignant for me to read.  I really loved it though.

There isn't a bad thing to say about this book, so obviously it's a 5 of 5 propeller read for me.  I do believe this one will stay with me for a long time.  The suspense certainly had me on the edge of my seat several times and dying to continue reading it.  It will be interesting to see who's story if anyone's she does next.  This is truly a stand alone.  She has developed the story line enough in the beginning, that you don't need to know the specifics of the other two books.  Although I'm guessing if this one is this good, the other two are just as well done.  One of them is an Introvert story that sounds good.

Deep cover is the 3rd book in a series, but is the first book I've read by Scarlett Cole. I felt there were a lot of characters introduced all at once, but perhaps that is because I haven't read the first two books of the series. Cabe is the strong ex-military hero who lost his fiancée in the war. There was a bit too much of the book dedicated to detailing his romance with her. There were also too many chapters that were just paragraphs of background information rather than having that information revealed through the characters and plot. This may be Scarlett Cole's writing style, which based on the reviews, many people do like. However, for me, this slowed the overall pacing of the story. Amy is an FBI agent that had to leave her prior post due to sexual harassment. This is definitely a problem in many professions, but it became a bit preachy in a romance story. Amy starts out as a very strong female lead and I really liked her at the beginning of the story. Once she and Cabe meet, a relationship develops, but I did not sense a lot of sexual chemistry, although the sex scenes were hot. Cabe is very overprotective and I did not see as much pushback to that as I would have expected from a strong female protagonist. In the end, he pretty much races in to save Amy. The connections between the men that work with Cabe are very strong and the dynamics between them make for interesting and entertaining reading. There were sudden POV shifts which jarred me out of the story.....perhaps because this was an ARC and not properly formatted yet. Overall, there is an interesting plot and the ending picks up speed, although it is somewhat predictable. I suspect fans of Scalett Cole will enjoy this 3rd book in the Love Over Duty series.

WOW! This was not only an action packed but chemistry driven story with lots of heat and lots of heart. Cabe is still grieving the loss of his love but that doesn't stop him from falling for FBI Agent Amy Murray when they team up on a mission. So many twists and turns and all around nail biting suspense. I am not giving anything away in this one. I am on romantic suspense overload this week but that didn't stop me from loving this one. This can be read as a standalone but the rest of the series is just as good.

An enjoyable and entertaining storyline with sweet and sexy romance and a multi-agency investigation into human trafficking and money laundering with the Russian mob involved, whom the guys from Eagle run into in a previously in the series.
Cabe Moss is a hero easy to like. He is a strong, capable, considerate, and kind man. He knows what he wants, he has a surprising romantic streak, tenderness, and vulnerability that melts the hearts of the readers. His sorrow over losing his fiancee is touching, how he respects and cherishes Jess' memory is beautifully done.
I love the connection Cabe, Six, and Mac has. The way they know each other and get each other, and understand each other, the banter, the teasing, the confrontations, calling each other out when needed, it is one my favorite things in the series.
FBI Agent Amy Murray is an independent, tough, and capable woman who can hold her own and kick some arse when needed. She is a true professional, at least in the beginning, until the emotions between her and Cabe takes over the rational thinking.
With the strong secondary characters, likable hero and heroine, and a good storyline, I was ready to love the heck out of this story. But it turned out it was more of a liked it a lot, read it through even though struggled in the half point, and ended up finding it entertaining. I'm not sure if the eARC was edited more before the final print, but there were several mistakes in it that broke the flow for me. The point of view and the timeline was jumpy, not formatted to be reader-friendly, but all these issues could have been corrected to the final copy, so not affecting my score of the title.
In my opinion, Amy lost a lot of her edge as an agent when she started her relationship with Cabe, there were a couple of times I had to remind myself that she was not civilian helping out with the investigation. Cabe didn't trust her abilities keep herself safe, maybe not because of her actions, but because of what happened to Jess in the past. Yet there was something off balance in the tale right after they got together.
Amy and Cabe, after submerging into the lust, were sizzling hot, and the explicit love scenes were plentiful. I really loved the mature and constructive way they dealt with the issues between them. I loved that there was no drama just for the sake of drama, yet there were feels, deep emotions that were palpable, and conversations that were difficult.
I'm glad I didn't give up on Deep Cover at the halfway point because the action and tension of the suspense pick up, and the thrill of the chase is riveting towards the end, so much so that I didn't want it to end quite so suddenly.
A luscious and delicate love story in a middle of an intense and dangerous investigation lead by a cast of charming characters enthralled and entertained my mind and I'm looking forward to the next installment of the series.

Ok two things first I admit this is my first book by this author and secondly it’s apparently the third in this series. I say this so that you realise I went in completely blind and I’m actually sat here feeling very impressed. I found there was enough background that I didn’t feel lost and most of all that this particular story easily pulled me in with strong edgy characters but most of all a plot full of suspense and action that felt incredibly believable.
What I really liked here was the tension ramped up between Amy and Cade and their chemistry just pulsated through my kindle. It’s not an easy romance but somehow amongst all the danger and undercover work they do manage to find time for each other. Now anyone who has followed this series will know that two years ago Cades fiancée died leaving a hole that couldn’t be filled and I adored the way the author allowed Cade to address his feelings and yes his guilt. Moving on is not easy for him but he sees in Amy a different future and his inner turmoil added greatly to my belief in him as a character. Amy too has had to overcome obstacles of her own so putting these two together was sheer genius plus I found her relatives so funny!
The menace in play in this story kept me eagerly turning the pages and I thought the author did a good job in making this a suspense that captivated me until the very end. There’s camaraderie between the guys, hot romance, real emotion and even a little humour. Best of all though this is well written and very different to other romantic suspense books I’ve read so if like me you haven’t tried this author then I think it’s really time to start !
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

Passion and Suspense!
Deep Cover is a fast paced, action packed read. Scarlett Cole manages to showcase her characters as well as, bring an enthralling storyline to life. Cabe and Amy are both intelligent, observant individuals. They live in the details of a case or mission; determined to be successful in their end goal.

Cabe has loved and lost. That loss still haunts him. He focuses on his job and excels in keeping his team safe. Coming off of a mission that went awry and some raw memories, he is feeling a bit of kilter. It's then that he meets a beautiful blonde at a bar. He is inexplicably drawn to Amy, which leads to some feelings of guilt.

Amy is intelligent, persistent, and beautiful. In her line of work, her physical appearance hasn't always worked in her favor. She relocated to a new FBI field office after being harrassed by a senior agent. The whole situation soured her to men. So image her surprise at meeting a sexy stranger in a bar. There is definitely a spark, but Cabe disappears on her. The next time they lay eyes on each other is in a joint task force meeting.

Cabe and Amy must work closely to bring down a money laundering operation and possible human trafficking ring. These two admit that there is an attraction between them, but agree to keep things professional. As their case heats up so does the passion between them. Cabe and Amy sizzle together. Their emotional connection is just as intense as their physical connection.

As a reader I got wrapped up in the undercover mission. I loved seeing Amy and Cabe in action. They were both pragmatic and skilled. The trust that they developed was unquestionable. That trust and connection is what ultimately leads to their HEA. The suspense and twists in this story will have you on the edge of your seat. Deep cover is a pulse pounding story that delivers in action, passion, hope, and love!

Great connections between all of the characters! This book really emphasizes the “family” feel they say develops among the Seals. The chemistry between Cade & Amy is intense & apparent right from the beginning. I enjoyed the fact that the characters talked & worked through their issues instead of getting mad & pushing each other away. Good communication is a key that seems missed anymore. I liked revisiting the characters from the previous books. Very enjoyable!

I'm really enjoying the world of Eagle Security and have definitely been looking forward to Cabe's story because of the high angst factor!  (I'm a firm believer that angst is good for relationships...at least for me reading about them, maybe not so much IRL though.)  After the death of his fiancée Jess on active duty in Afghanistan, he has pretty much shut down his personal life, focusing instead on his friends and their work as the one assignation he had left him with feelings of guilt.  When he meets Amy in a bar there is mutual interest, but the knowledge that it was what would have been Jess's 30th birthday causes him to run out on her.  (Not the best way to handle things, but I'll cut him some slack!)

Of course as it turns out, Amy is an FBI agent and she is assigned to look into a possible trafficking and money laundering operation run out of a local casino.  As the daughter of a poker pro, she has the skills needed to infiltrate as a dealer and it allows her to work on a case that really hits home for her.  (Her mother disappeared when she was a child and was never found.)  As part of the investigation, the FBI is teaming up with the CIA and a group of contractors-Eagle Security, and specifically Cabe.  Their partnership starts off strained, but as time progresses and danger increases, of course that doesn't last long!

The background of the casino world was fascinating as I'm not a fan and had no idea how it all works, though I do think some of the explanation could have been cut down just to save time and move the story along faster,.  Also to me it seemed like there was more investigation/suspense than there was romance so I wish there had been a better balance, but I did enjoy Cabe and Amy's journey to a relationship and eventual HEA.

As this was an ARC, there was a formatting issue that made it difficult to read in that there was no spacing between scenes so sometimes it wasn't clear that it was the end of one and the start of another.  Hopefully this is fixed in the final version, but overall I did enjoy the read.  I don't know if Scarlett plans any future outings with the Eagle Security team, but I look forward to reading them if there are more!

Thanks to St. Martin's Press and Netgalley for the chance to read this early!

The always amazing Scarlett Cole is back with Deep Cover, book 3 in the Love Over Duty Series and this is the book I’ve been waiting for and it absolutely did not disappoint.

It’s not a secret that I’m a huge fan of this author and Deep Cover again highlights why I am. I was 100% hooked from the opening pages to the very last that I turned with a big fat happy sigh of satisfaction. And okay, maybe a big fat grin too. I freaking loved this book.

When I say I’ve been waiting (sort of patiently) for this book, I’m not kidding. When we first met Cabe I was drawn to him and after reading his two buddies get their HEA I was desperate to see Cabe get his. I knew he would need a strong heroine and boy did he find the perfect one in Amy.

I adored Amy from her first introduction and knew she would be the perfect match for Cabe. She was strong, independent and tough. Add in a kick ass attitude and it was a no brainer. Pair her with Cabe, an ex-Navy SEAL, hard as nails but with a broken heart and you can see why I say these two are a formidable paring.

From the moment they meet, you can feel the chemistry and when they are assigned to the same case, you know that the sparks are going to fly and caution will be thrown to the wind as they fight their feelings and the pull of attraction and when that line is crossed, there’s no going back no matter the stakes.

I love how the author wraps up the over arcing storyline in this book but still manages to inject a new connection to it at the same time. It will keep new and old readers glued to the pages.

Not to mention that the other guys in Six and Mac feature heavily in this story as they have in past books. There is one scene that is most memorable thanks to Six being himself and pushing Cabe’s buttons as only a lifelong friend can do. You will know it when you get there. Add in watching these alpha men plan a wedding (yes, they do everything, and it has some hilarious moments) and seriously this is why I hooked.

I truly hope this is not the end of this series. There are a lot of other characters that need a book, just a suggestion. And yes, I’m just that greedy I want more. Well played Scarlett Cole, well played indeed.

This series can be read as stand-alone book, but truly do yourself a favour and read them as a series. You will be as addicted as I was to them.
