Good Christian suspenseful romance… Victoria has just moved back to her grandfather's land after he had a stroke. While working a case, James works as a handyman to gain Victoria's trust. Due to a past relationship, Victoria is suspicious of stranger and doesn't easily give her trust. I received a free copy of this book to read from the publisher through Netgallery. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. This is a very good well written suspenseful Christian romance. Both Victoria and James are strong characters. Both of them struggle with trust and forgiveness issues. I enjoyed reading this book. I will definitely put this author on my future reading list.
Victoria had changed her life so she could live by her grandfather, after his stroke. She was happy to be near him because she loved him so much. Upon her arrival, she met the handyman, James, that her grandfather had hired to help fix a few things around the property. Victoria wasn't quick to trust so she met James with some resistance and skepticism, but as she spent more and more time with him, she began to trust him and even began to have stronger feelings for him. She wasn't sure if it was wise to give him her trust so quickly, but she could see he was a good man.
James, was operating undercover as an ATF agent investigating a moonshine operation. He knew he could earn Victoria's trust but would it cost him her love when he had to come clean about who he was? He had never felt like this before for any woman so he was operating in unfamiliar territory. He could see from the beginning that Victoria was a kind and compassionate woman and he wanted her for himself, but first and foremost he had a job to do and she directly in his line of fire. Was it worth it to him to care her pain and hurt?
I really enjoyed reading this book very much. It was a quick and easy read. The story had depth with suspense, drama, romance and emotion. The story was clean without any sex or foul language, which I appreciate. I was given an arc copy to read and provide an honest review.
A Matter Of Trust Is a book of conflict - it is also a book of all kinds of feelings. And forgiveness abounds yet will there be the ever swinging pendulum of forgiveness? There is mistrust will there be trust? There is injustice will there be justice? There is a set of values will they lose them? There are those who have them and there are those who have none. There is a mystery running throughout the whole book. Who is it? Well let me tell you - - - it is…. Yeah right like I would do that to you. Miss Davy has you guessing right up until the very end - as so it should be - and there is romance thrown in there too - what more could you ask for? Well I will tell you what - God - HE is there - that is the greatest of all in the book - awesome!
