Ransomed Trust is a good read! This is the first book I have read by Deborah Pierson Dill and I enjoyed her writing style. Lucy needs to get away from the sadness of her mother's decent into dementia and from a neighbor she believes is beginning to stalk her. She goes to Ransom Oak Ranch and meets Brandon who works there. There is an attraction but Brandon feels unworthy because of his past. This book has danger, romance and learning how to trust. I will be looking for more books by Dill.

I received this book from NetGalley and all opinions are my own.

Lucy Kramer needs to get away for a few days. As if the stress of her mother’s decline into dementia isn’t enough, now a neighbor seems to be stalking her. The Ransom Oaks Ranch offers room to breathe and think, and Brandon Tennent’s quiet, sensitive nature draws her in almost immediately.

But Brandon’s past mirrors all too closely that of Lucy’s alcoholic father, and while his feelings for Lucy are strong, he knows she could never trust him completely. No one can.

When her stalker’s attentions take a sinister turn, can Brandon prove to Lucy and to himself that he’s not as unworthy as he believes?

This book was not bad, but very short. Five chapters long. There was so much that could have been added to it. I felt like I got to know Brandon's character way better than Lucy. Lucy seemed to hold grudges, she is non confrontational, she has a solution, move? but she runs away. Which helps the plot, but again very little detail is given, much is glossed over. I even checked to see if there was a previous book in the series about Brandon's sister Ashley, but there is not.

on the whole, the book would be better given more detail, making you know and understand the characters, and having a slow burning suspenseful romance instead of one day she is afraid of him and the next day she loves him.

I received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review.

Lucy is increasing feeling threatened by a stalker in her apartment complex. Lucy just needs to get away when she spots a sign for a guest house as she is driving out of town. Brandon is full of regrets about how his past drinking has affected his family ranch and his family. Over a period of days they grow closer but can she accept him when she learns of his past. I received a copy of this story from the publisher through Net Gallery. This is a sweet Christian romantic short story about second chances and trust. This was a wonderful well written short story.
