Could you be the ultimate Mama-Bear if your child was hurt? Would you take matters into your own hands to ensure justice? Could you plan the perfect murder?
While both Nat and Will are annoying - their love for their son and the actions they take are realistic, if not admirable. I didn't warm to Nat as a character - she's too rigid, closed off, and even though they are necessary, I just think criminal defense lawyers are some of the lowest of the low.. Just wait - I'm sure I'll change my tune in a heartbeat if I ever need their services!' Will - well, he's just a typical male - thinking with the lower half..
I loved how the book wrapped up the story but the actual ending, the final chapter was just ...stupid. I just wanted to slap her to try and get the idea out of her head...
This was an interesting read for me. It was an unbelievable plot, but it was definitely entertaining. I kept wondering what would I do if this were happening to me and my family. Though I don’t think I would ever do what this couple did, I was intrigued by what they decided was best. There were times where I wanted to yell at both of the main characters, and times I laughed out loud at the ridiculousness of certain situations. The ending was a bit flat and questionable. Overall it was a quick read and kept my interest. Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin/Mira for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
I read this book in two days time. It really kept my attention. However, I didn't like the two main characters, Will and Natalie. Will was weak and dishonest while Natalie was arrogant and cold except where her son Charlie was concerned. Even though the realization that someone has molested your child would make any parent crazy I don't believe most people would handle it the way they did.
There were several things that just were not believable.
The ending was somewhat of a surprise but again not all together plausible.
I'm spite of these things it is still an entertaining read and I would recommend it to anyone who likes a light fast moving story.
Book Review: For Better or Worse by Margot Hunt
This book is about a pedophile and the parents of a child who was abused.
The premise of this book of vigilante killing was interesting. If I was in their shoes, I would probably do the same thing, except it probably won’t be a perfect murder.
I really enjoyed that we got the point of views of both parents. I found the twist for Will to be more interesting. I found him to be a more compelling character as he dealt with the aftermath of the death and the secrets that were uncovered in the process.
I think Nat is a bit of a sociopath. She is killing because she believes it’s justified and she doesn’t believe in the justice system.
Overall this was a fun twisty read.
My feels: This can be a triggering book when it comes to children sexual abuse. Tread carefully. This was a good book to read in one sitting. I like it better than Best Friends Forever.
Review will be posted in my blog - What to Read Next Blog in December 2018, In addition a review will be posted in the What to Read Next Podcast as a Book of the Month round up recommendations.
A pair of lawyers sets out to determine if there really is a way to get away with murder in order to save their son.
Not being a fan of vigilante justice, I found this book to be quite disappointing. I was really hoping for that big twist that took the storyline in a different direction, unfortunately that didn’t happen. The pacing felt off somehow and the suspense never really built to that point where the pages literally turn themselves. The ending did have a small twist, but, overall the story needed to be developed more.
Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin-Mira for letting me read this book in exchange for my honest review. What a thrill ride! This book kept me guessing and wanting more. How far would you go to protect and avenge your child? Having children myself this really struck me as you don't know what you would do unless you were put in that situation. And that ending! Although I womdered if it would be heading that direction, I was still shocked. Such a great thriller, definitely recommend!
This was a good idea but with poor execution. Especially the outcome. It’s like the author ran out of good ideas or just didn’t have any good ideas and threw something together. There wasn’t much mystery or thrill either. This read isn’t one that will stick out in my mind and not one I’d recommend.
3 Stars - I don’t count this story as mystery/suspense/thriller! It dragged a lot. The plot wasn’t really good and I got bored and after reading 60% I started skimming and skipping. I enjoyed my first read by her (Best Friends Forever) but this one didn’t really work out for me, unfortunately! Maybe it was just me and not the book, as you can see all the good reviews! So don’t listen to me and read it, hope you enjoy it!
Thanks to Margot Hunt, Netgalley and HARLEQUIN - Mira for the advanced digital copy in exchange an honest review.
4.5 stars
What a book! An intense yet quick page turner is the most apt description ever. The book was almost addictive. It deals with some very touchy subjects and probably should come with a trigger warning for abuse. I enjoyed how the story is told from Nat and Will’s POVs. Both of them are very unlikable and seriously flawed. It’s like they deserve each other really! I found Nat to be bitchy, manipulating and controlling; while Will is spineless and weak. The ending was not the most convincing and realistic for me and that is one of the reasons I did not rate this one a 5.
Having said that, I enjoyed the moral dilemma this book presented. As a mother, I sure have had my mamma bear moments and I can understand why Nat and Will deal with the situation they do. Not all the plot twists were unpredictable but they were enjoyable all the same. The plot was well developed overall and I liked the parenthood angle immensely. The way their thoughts are presented make it a very interesting read.
Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin-Mira for giving me this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
What would you do to protect your child. This is what i got out of the book. It was a beach read very entertaining. While reading I kept on saying what if this happened or that. It was worth the read so glad that I stuck with it.

How far would you go to help your significant other get away with murder? When Nat takes the law into her own hands to protect her family she knows she is crossing some lines. She is not going to allow a system that has many faults and cracks put her family in harms way. When her husband finds out what she has been doing he has no choice but to stick it out with her and get his hands in it as well.
Will they really get away with murder?

Will and Nat meet in law school and on their first date plan the perfect murder. Never in a million years did they ever think they would have to put that plan into place.

This book was quite the page turner. I needed to know where it was heading and how I was going to get there. The story line was compelling and the fast pace was perfect. I even enjoyed the ending. So why only 4 you might be thinking. It was the characters. They were not my favorite. I was vested in the son, but I found Nat to be a bit much. I did not care what happened to her at all. Also, the husband was a wimp. I cannot fathom how they got married in the first place.

Minus that one tidbit, I did like the story and would recommend for a nice fast paced suspense novel!
The kindle copy of this book had lots of typos and the page layout for many chapters made difficult reading. Still I continued cause the plot was fairly interesting .But there are many points in the story that didn't seem plausible and too farfetched .The ending meant to be a twist or a cliff hanger also feels unbelievable. Though the writing and narrative style with alternating POV was good somehow I felt the book lacked the punch factor and was a let down in the major crucial points of the story.
For better for worse isa good solid read. It’ll keep you guessing and it I’ll make you want to keep reading. Perfect combination.
If you like something tense then you’ll love this. Just bought her first book and look forward to getting stuck in.
I found this story intriguing. How far would you go to protect someone you love? How far is too far? Nat and Will meet in law school and Nat winds up a defense attorney. Their initial conversation about murder during school takes an interesting twist. This kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what will happen next. I would recommend to anyone looking for intrigue and a thrilling ride.
This was a great story that I could not put down! The characters are relatable. The plot was fast paced and very addicting, which is what I look for in a book. The element of suspense is what keeps you hooked!
I have just finished reading this book that shows how far a parent will go to protect their child. If your child is hurt by another there seems to be no end to what a parent will do. Anger overtakes sanity. A very good read which I am sure could cause a lot of discussion about who and what is right and wrong.
I really did like the book and was intrigued, but I won't say it's the best book I've ever read. Still, it was interesting and well-written, so kudos to the author! I enjoyed reading it and I hope it's successful!
