I'd like to thank Netgalley and the publisher for an E-ARC. I appreciated the author's writing style, and look forward to reading her future works. However, this particular story was not for me. The subject matter was tough to read, and although I can understand that family members would want revenge I just do not agree with the way everything occured. I did enjoy the pacing, but by the end it became repetitive.

On their first date back in law school, Natalie and Will Clarke bonded over drinks, dinner and whether they could get away with murder. Now married, they’ll put the latter to the test when an unchecked danger in their community places their son in jeopardy. Working as a criminal defense attorney, Nat refuses to rely on the broken legal system to keep her family safe. She knows that if you want justice…you have to get it yourself.

I'm a fan of Margot Hunt's other novel, Best Friends Forever, so I knew I'd love this one! This was a uniquely dark, twisty novel that was mainly told through the point of view of Nat. This is one book not to be missed.

Thank you #NetGalley for this ARC of #ForBetterAndWorse

Natalie and Will met in law school, and on their first date had a conversation about getting away with murder. Now it is 14 years later, and Nat and Will are married and have an eleven-year-old son. Their old conversation is revisited when Nat decides they need to protect their son, and the only way to do that is to kill the person who is abusing him.

This novel poses an interesting question. How far would you go to protect your child? Nat is a defense attorney, and knows how flawed the legal system can be. Her main concern is keeping her son safe, so she wants to take care of things herself. While Nat believes they are smart enough to get away with murder, Will is not exactly on board with her plan.

Told from two points of view - Nat and Will - though, most of the story is from Nat's POV. Nat is smart, resourceful, and very protective of her family. Will is more inattentive and impulsive. Clearly, this results in some issues in their marriage, parenting, and, of course, murder planning.

This is an intriguing story. A great read for fans of domestic psychological thrillers. Clever, dark, and calculating.

I received a free eARC of this book from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

On your mark, get ready... for the twists and turns!

I picked this one up to just read a few chapters and ended up staying up waaay past my bedtime!  Now that is the sign of a good book IMO.

Who discusses planning a murder on their first date!?

Well Natalie and Will do! It was years before they were married and parents of an adorable eleven year old son, Charlie.  They both are intelligent after all and why wouldn't they be able to pull off the perfect murder?  Natalie happens to be a defense attorney and Will is a successful real estate attorney. They have a good life and they love Charlie to pieces. Even if Will did have a little something to hide! Yep

Let the plotting begins....

Natalie never expected what was coming and never planned on plotting murder in her "real life", but when she receives devastating news that crushes her, she begins to plot and scheme and use all her tricks of the trade.  Lets just say that she becomes a little "jumpy" and thinks "why can't these people leave me alone and let me plan this murder?" I was laughing hysterically at some of her and Will's tactics. Could they possibly flub this murder up?? What?

I was thoroughly entertained, on the edge of my seat, and gasping through out.  Lets just talk about that ENDING..... I was bewildered!!!

Can you tell I Loved It?! <3

Thanks to Harlequin for my digital copy. Review will post to my blog closer to Pub. Date

How far would you go for your child? For other's children? For your spouse?

Margot Hunt's book opens with a conversation between two law students on how to get away with murder. The students become lawyers, marry, have a son, and are living a slightly-less-than-happy life when their worlds are turned upside down with a tragic discovery that will change everything. Wife/mom/defense lawyer Nat learns that her son has been hurt by someone they had deep trust in. In anger, she reminds her husband of that conversation they'd had on their first date back in law school and announces that they're going to kill the person that betrayed their family and caused grave distress to their child.

However, husband Will became a trust lawyer at a firm with a few partners and took their student-days conversation about getting away with murder as just adrenaline-fueled flirting and is horrified at what his wife is suggesting. Who did he marry, he wonders. Thankfully, the next morning, Nat seems to have come to her senses.

Or did she? What will she do? Will her husband be on her side, whatever the cost? Were they right all those years ago, in their young egotism - could they really execute the perfect crime?

I absolutely loved this very fast-paced, exciting book. I read it in one day, totally unable to put it down! The characters are so relatable in the drudgery of their life - slightly stale marriage, just keeping their heads above water, when tragedy hits. Their thoughts are what many of us would think in similar circumstances. That's part of what makes this book such a thriller; the reader can easily envision going through similar situation. I found the story of their crime and the aftermath to be exciting and believable. Overall a fun, indulgent read - highly recommend. I would look forward to anything by this author!

Margot Hunt.... well well you have done it again!

With absolutely loving Margot Hunt's debut novel Best Friends Forever... I knew I had to get my hands on her next novel from Netgalley.
Let me tell you "Some people are just worth killing" ...... THAT is in all honesty a VERY true statement my friends.

Margot Hunt delivers a fast paced, addicting, and wild ride with For Better and Worse. I wasn't quite prepared for what I was getting into with this one. Margot had some serious twists and turns in her debut novel that leaves your jaw on the floor. I was hoping that this one would have just the effect on me.

In the beginning you're introduced to Will and Natalie Clarke who met through law school. They joked about planning the perfect murder one day. Well.. my friends the TIME has arised and all I can say is they better get it right haha.

The Clarkes have the worst situation on their hands that any parents would never want to have. Their son's principal and friend of the Clarke's has been accused of molesting a young boy at the elementary school. One day Natalie is talking with her son Jacob and he drops an awful bomb of being molested by the principal Robert as well. Talk about HORRIBLE!

Natalie decides that Robert must die and her husband Will must help her with the act. But, is she serious?! Will she actually kill the man that hurt her son?

Now, this gets complicated very quickly as you can imagine especially with having two criminal defense attorney's on your hands... but wait they know what they're doing right? :)

I was hooked from page one and devoured in over a couple of days. I was not disappointed but I do have to say was hoping for a bit more of a twist at the end of the story. Margot does deliver one final twist in the prologue but was edging for a bit more.

Overall, this was fantastic!

4 strong stars for Hunt!!

Huge thank you to Harlequin Mira and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this arc in exchange for my honest review.

I think every parent has considered what they would do if they were ever in the horrible situation where their child confided what Natalie and Will hear from their son in this book. And I think we all believe we will follow the course of actions taken in this book. This explores what might happen if you actually followed your heart and went down that path...

Gripping, heart wrenching, I'm not sure believable, but a great read.

A riveting story that captures the reader's attention from the very first chapter and does not let go until the very end, and even then, leaves the reader wondering what he or she would do if they were placed within the same circumstances.

Will and Natalie, two law students trying to impress one another on their very first date, bragged that they would be smarter than criminals and could mastermind the perfect crime, even getting away with murder. Life happens. They get married and now have a son, Charlie, who is 11 years old. Natalie is a criminal defense attorney, and Will is an estate lawyer. The male school principal at their son's school is accused of alleged sexual molestation of a young male student. Although the victim's name is supposed to be kept confidential, his identity is quickly leaked and gossip spreads like wildfire through their small school district. With a little prompting from Natalie, Charlie confides in his mom that he, too, is a victim.

How do two attorney parents handle this situation? Report it to the police and let the justice system run its course? Or do they execute their own vigilante justice to take care of the problem? You will have to read it to find out!

For Better and Worse by Margot Hunt. Fast paced and suspenseful, one of the better mystery books that I have read lately. An unexpected twist at the end was an added perk. High recommended.

Thank you to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for the opportunity to preview the book.

This is a fast paced book that keeps you on the edge of your seat waiting for the next twist. This book asks the question how far will you go to protect your child. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I really loved the ending! I received an advanced readers copy from NetGalley and Mira books. All opinions are my own.

This was a well written, full of suspense book. Nat and Will meet in law school, get married and have a son named Charlie. They live in a small community in Florida. One day, the Principal of the school their son goes to is put on suspension. An accusation is made by a boy that he was inappropriately touched by the Principal. At one time, Nat and Will were friendly with the Principal and his wife when they lived in the same complex. Then the principal and his wife got divorced and Nat and Will moved and bought a house. So the whole town is in an uproar which as a mother I completely understand. A few days later, Char;lie tells his mother that the principal touched him also. Natalie, who is a criminal defense attorney is besides herself. HJer husband Will does Trusts and Estate Law and when he finds out what happened to his son is is also enraged. I do not want to go further with my review because I do not want to give away any spoilers but the book is a real page turner and I couldn't put it down. I received this book from netgalley.com as an ARC for an honest review.. I recommend this book highly to all because this is such an important issue in the world we live in. That there are so many pedophiles out there and what would you do if this happened to your child.

***4 Stars***

Nat and Will who are both lawyers who met during law school, are married and have a young boy named Charlie. Let me stop right here and say I am thoroughly confused by the boy's name. The synopsis says the son's name is "Jacob" but the book I read, the son's name is definitely Charlie.
Anyway... I don't want to digress because I really did enjoy this book and recommend it whatever name you give Nat and Will's child.
*Charlie/Jacob*'s school principal is accused of being a pedophile, and Nat finds out one evening from her son that he too is one of the victims. I don't want to give away any details to ruin this story because I highly recommend it. The story I thought I was about to be predictable and borderline ridiculous turned out to be a great mystery that I couldn't put down. The ending was also not what I expected, which always raises my rating.

Special thanks to NetGalley and MIRA for allowing me an advance read copy in exchange for an honest review.

For Better or Worse by author Margot Hunt is an intense, fast paced domestic thriller with characters up to par and a thick plot. I would absolutely recommend this book!

Wow.. now that was a brilliant book! I absolutely devoured this just as I did the authors previous book Best Friends Forever earlier this year. . Talk about hooks, th Simone had me hook, line and sinker! It is definitely a story where you have to take it for what it is, a work of fiction but it is different and not at all predictable and I loved it!

Natalie and Will met at law school where they joked that they could get away with murder. 15 years later they are married and when their son is hurt this is put to the test.. How far would you go to protect your child. Natalie will stop at nothing and drags Will along for the ride. The ending blew me away and I hope that the story will continue in another book.

Thanks to Harlequin MIRA US and Canada and NetGalley for my advanced copy of this book to read. All opinions are my own and are in no way biased

This is a fast paced page turner that can easily be devoured in one sitting. I really enjoyed it and would read more from this author in future.

4.5 stars for this fast paced read! I was given an early kindle copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion. I really enjoyed this one and could not put it down. I read it in 2 sittings as each chapter sort of leaves you wanting more! It's not a "who did it" type of thriller, but more of a "what will happen next" suspense that keeps you on the edge of your seat.
As a mom, I kept wondering what lengths I would go to if my child was in this situation? Definitely not murder, but it sure gets your mind wondering!! Would've rated it 5 stars but I didn't love the ending, seemed a little too unrealistic for me! Otherwise, I devoured this book and would totally recommend it!
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC!

This book just did not sit well with me. The story is poorly written in my opinion. I give it two stars because I think it could have been better. Will and Natalie are living a good life with their yr old son until they find out he has been sexually molested. One of them makes a life changing decision that has the potential to tear their happy life apart. Thank you to Netgalley and Harlequin Books for giving me the oppurtunity to read this book for an honest review.

Satisfying and not predictable. The characters were believable and enjoyable. The fallacies of each made them feel more like someone you know and can relate

Thankyou to NetGalley, Harlequin-Mira and the author, Margot Hunt, for the opportunity to read an advanced readers copy of For Better or Worse.
I was intrigued by the description of this book. The storyline held a lot of promise. But, I didn't feel it delivered what I was expecting. It was a good read, but the central characters were not very likeable nor relatable. Not a book for me. 2.5 stars.
