Awesome book that kept me totally interested throughout. Love this author and would recommend her to everyone.
Somehow this book got lost in my to-be-read queue. This book was amazing. I could not have predicted the twist at the end,. Margot Hunt is officially my favorite new author. Anxiously awaiting her next book. Thank you for the advanced copy.
Couldn't get into this book. Story never picked up. Didn't care about the characters. Couldn't finish this one.
Wow! This book seriously had me hooked from the very first page. I could hardly put it down. Nat and Will reminded me of my husband and I if we were ever in this situation hahaha
I had previously read Margot Hunt's Best Friends Forever and enjoyed it so I was eager to read this book. It tackles the difficult subject of child molestation without getting too graphic, all the while maintaining a fast pace as Nat and Will must deal with the fall out of what they have done to protect their son. I had to suspend my disbelief more than usual while reading this, although that isn't necessarily a bad thing. As a parent, surely many will relate to why they do what they do, but the aftermath and the ending were a little too perfectly wrapped up for me. Still, this is a fun, nail-biting thriller and I look forward to more of the same from Margot Hunt.
Married couple Natalie and Will struggle with a crime. Both a crime against their son and a crime they wish to carry out. I wasn't on board with a lot of this.
I found this book had some really interesting themes and discussions but I was overall disappointed.
I found the crime to be so far from perfect it was almost laughable, particularly as it was undertaken by someone who has a lot of insight into the criminal justice system. I also really didn't enjoy the ending.
This is a really good modern thriller which has an unusual storyline. I really enjoyed it and can understand that revenge is sometimes justified.
This book was just average for me. I tried to pick it up several times, this time I had the determination to finish it. Will and Natalie are both unlikeable to me. I prefer characters I either connect with or unreliable narrators that keep my intrigue. I felt that the bouncing from Nat to Will and then back again in the different parts was done okay, but I didn't find it to be necessary. It would take me out of the story for a little time, especially when it came to dialog. I can understand their thought processes in wanting to kill Robert; however, the ending makes it clear to me that Nat is just a hair trigger away from snapping on anyone she deems necessary. There were a few twists and turns I didn't see coming, but for the most part, I could see where it was going. The ending was unsatisfying to me. I like the loop back to the beginning, but it showed the lack of development with the characters since even a year later they are still doing the same things with no improvement and the urges to repeat the same mistakes again. It was a decent read, just not my favorite.
When Will and Natalie, both law students had their first date they casually discuss if they could get away with the perfect murder. Makes a change from small talk I guess!!
Years later Will and Natalie are married with an 11 year old son Charlie. Both are successful in their law careers but their marriage is stuck in a rut and they take one and other for granted.
When they discover that Robert their son’s school principle has been accused of molesting a pupil, they soon realise that there are other victims and sadly Charlie is one of them.
Natalie knows what it would be like if they go to the police, Charlie would have to testify. She wants to take the law into her own hands and spare their son any more pain and stop Robert from harming anyone else.
I loved the way you know what is going to happen, but the suspense is still high and keeps you hooked throughout this book.
“For Better Or Worse” will Will support his Wife’s plans even if he believes in the system and that justice can prevail. But when it’s you’re own flesh and blood that’s hurt, all logic goes out of the window and you want justice.
The ending for me was going to go 2 ways, but I loved the twist at the end. A must read book that was chilling and an addictive thriller which you will find hard to put down.
Thank you to Netgalley for my copy in exchange for a review.
Enter married couple Natalie and Will Clarke. They met years ago in law school, and joked about whether or not they thought they could get away with murder. Fast forward many years later, and that theory is put to the test. They have a young son together and his safety is put into jeopardy when something happens in their community that may involve their son. The person blamed claims he is innocent, but who really knows? Nat decides to take matters into her own hands, and plans to get revenge on this man who is well known in the community – her son’s school principal!
Will is shocked when he learns his wife Nat plans to take matters, and justice, into her own hands. When he learns of her plan, he is shocked and speechless! Is his wife truly capable of what she is claiming to do? Does he really know his wife, and had he ever really known her at all? As Will manages to get dragged into this situation with his wife, he becomes involved in her scheme as well, whether he meant to be or not. They are now facing serious charges if they are ever caught for what they did, and want to remain anonymous and try to cover their tracks. Will they be able to pull it all off?
As the story continues, they begin to sweat, panic, and stress as the police are investigating what happened that one fateful night, and they claim they are innocent, but their nerves are catching up to them. Will they be able to keep their cool until the police are off their trail or will they cave and give themselves away?
I enjoyed the book as you never knew which way events would turn. There were moments I thought for sure the marriage would completely crumble, and at times I thought they would give themselves away to the police. A novel that will keep you guessing until the shocking last pages, this novel was a good read with a shocking ending you won’t see coming.
On their first date, Nat and Will jokingly discuss how they would commit the perfect murder. That conversation ends up being put to the test when someone threatens their son. The thing is I never felt like there was a major climax in this book or a jaw dropping moment but it still held my attention-I was along for the ride. The pacing was well done and I was invested in the story.

Thanks to #NetGalley for the review copy of #ForBetterAndWorse. All opinions are my own.
WOW!! What took me so long to read this book?! It may very well be one of my favorite books of this year.
Nat and Will have a hypothetical conversation early on in their relationship -- Do they think they could get away with murder? But they never once thought that might become a question that actually needs an answer...
The writing was phenomenal. Margot Hunt consistently had me wanting MORE MORE MORE. I wanted to know more of what happened and what was going to happen.
The ending was unexpected and the only small downside of the story. I felt like it solved things a little too conveniently. But, not enough to take away from the 5 star rating. I will definitely be recommending this book!

If you found out that your child was one of several young boys molested by a friend/ person of authority, what extend would you go to to ensure no other children were harmed? Natalie and Will are attorneys with a middle school aged son. Natalie fears going to the police will stigmatize their son as the child who was molested. But what if there was another way to remedy the situation? I loved the majority of the book. I was disappointed in the ending. It felt rushed and everything ended so neatly.
When Nat and Will are just together (dating) they have a discussion of how stupid criminals are and Nat decides that they could get away with murder between the two of them. The beginning is a huge turn off as there is no connection between the two of them and the dialog is extremely flat. Then you get into when they are married and have a child. The most horrendous thing that a parent can face when they have children happens to their son and Natalie has decided that the perpetrator has to die. She is a layer for criminals and Will is an estate lawyer, they know the law and Natalie decides she is above it. The book was beyond unrealistic to me and I couldn't like any character. Received this book as an ARC and I gave my review voluntarily.
I am sorry for not reviewing fully but I don’t have the time to read this at the moment. I believe that it wouldn't benefit you as a publisher or your book if I only skimmed it and wrote a rushed review. Again, I am sorry for not fully reviewing!
Is there actually such a thing as a perfect marriage? What would your spouse have to do for you to want to leave them? In For Better and Worse by Margot Hunt, Will and his wife Nat have been married for almost 20 years, they have an 11 year old son, and everything seems pretty hunky-dory in their suburban life.
That is until they find out that the principal of their son's school is accused by a student, who claims the principal touched him inappropriately on a school trip. This is enough to make Nat's skin crawl, she was friends with this guy, after all. When Nat finds out that her own son, Charlie, accuses the principal of touching him inappropriately as well, Nat can't stop herself and thinks of doing the unthinkable.
Nat and Will are both lawyers who met in law school, their first date was a little awkward, a little braggy on both ends, but the two decided that if anyone could commit the perfect murder it would be them. Who would have thought all these years later, and Nat would actually still think this to be the case? Of course, Will has no idea she still wants to see if what they said all those years ago rings true, so when Nat brings it up to Will, he's immediately shaken.
He doesn't want to kill the principal, but once Nat gets a thought in her head, there's no way of getting around it. That being said, she takes her time, meticulously plans the murder, and when the day finally comes to do the deed, she's not worried at all.
Told in dual perspectives, Nat and Will, you get to see how both parts of the couple feel about each situation that happens, from Charlie's accusations to the murder of an old friend, plus many more secrets are dug up. I really enjoyed this book, I thought it had a little twist in it, being that Nat was the one who wanted to do the killing, rather than the husband.
One of the things I was a little disappointed about from this book was the ending. It seemed to neatly wrapped up, with a bow. Though, the epilogue did make up for that, in the end.
Overall, I'd give this 4 out of 5 stars. The plot was exceptional, the suspense was incredible, but that ending just left me feeling like I got played.
This read started out kinda slow for me, but it picked up fast. The suspense of needing to know what was coming next, had me on edge. I read this book in a day.
I really enjoyed the up and down thrill of the book. Two lawyers, married with a child, a traumatizing event that happens in their lives. The affair, I had to find out quick on how this book was going to play out.
This book ended in a way that left me shocked.
Can two lawyers get away with murder, in a small town? Guess you will have to read it to find out...
For Better and Worse is a twisty book about how far a couple will go to pull off the perfect crime. Makes you think about the vows you take and how far you’ll go to keep those vows. Loved the twist and would love to see a sequel to this book!
Natalie and Will Clarke met in law school, where they dated and, over drinks and dinner, speculated if they could get away with murder! It was just an interesting exercise to them at the time.
Now they’re married with a young son, and when a threat to him looms, what will they do? Natalie is a criminal defense attorney and she understands the fractures in the legal system won’t protect her boy. Will isn’t sure he recognizes Natalie and her ruthless, single-minded dedication to protecting their son. But now he is part of her plan and there is no way out for him, even if he sees a different way forward.
As the police close in, can they keep their family safe and their secret intact?
