This book was fabulous. A great installment to the Compass Cove series. Can't wait for the next book!
You Send Me continues the Compass Cove series. Nick deals with nightmares caused my his experiences in Afghanistan, and Jordan deals with her father’s impending death. The do get their HEA in the end. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.
I received an advanced copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Journey back to Compass Cove- a town enriched with a romantic history that begs you to believe in it's magic and charm. Compass Cove feels like the idealic place to live and love. I fell in love with book 2 of this series and hope there are more to follow.
Jordan Velsor is at a major turning point, crossroads or whatever you'd like to call it. Having caught her cheating fiance in the act, canceling her wedding and somehow being at blame according to the local gossips, Jordan is fed up. She is facing the fact that her father is terminal and his death will leave her completely alone. Now a major storm has set in leaving Jordan sick, sporting a crushed vehicle and relying on the kindness of her landlord's grandson, the sexy Nick Rinaldi.
Nick is wandering- he left the Navy after a terrible injury has forced him to have numerous surgeries and he simply doesn't know what to do or where to be. I guess you could say he needs a compass to point him in the right direction. When he must come to the rescue of his grandparents tenant, Nick decides his attraction to Jordan is a hopeful sign he might be in the right place.
Jordan is stubborn and independent. Her history makes her leery of men and she isn't too sure she can trust Nick. Her pull to him is stronger than she can deny and maybe he's her magnetic north.
I truly enjoyed this story. Jeannie Moon has a way of making her stories so romantic and entertaining.
You Send Me by Jeannie Moon, is a wonderfully written small town romance.
Jordan Velsor, a school teacher, was supposed to be marrying the love of her life, until she caught him cheating on her. Nick Rinaldi, a doctor and military veteran harboring guilt, visiting his grandparents who live next door to Jordan, falls for Jordan and steps in to help her when she becomes sick as a massive Nor Easter comes literally crashes around them.
Jordan’s father, George, is dying. With her being sick, she is unable to visit him. She asks Nick to visit as well as to check on him in the nursing home, and their “relationship” gets assumed and blown out of proportion…next thing they know, Nick and Jordan are assumedly engaged.
Compass Cove is known for the history of Jordan’s ancestors, where a mysterious, yet magical, compass given to Lucy Velsor mourning her beloved husband, who had been lost at sea, reminds people that “hearts meant to love will always find each other”.
Will Nick be able to let Jordan in and seal the fate of the compass?
Schoolteacher with a lot of bad luck finds help from neighboring veteran/doctor. Everybody is super nice, everybody likes each other, just our two protagonists need a bit longer to give to their feelings.
This is an easy going simple romance, not much happening, though.
I always enjoy everything Jeannie Moon writes. She knows how to write a feel good story with flawed characters that are easy to connect with. YOU SEND ME is the second book in the Compass Cove series and is a refreshing, emotional journey.
This story takes place in small town Compass Cove, where everyone knows your business and people love to gossip. Nick and Jordan agree to pretend they are engaged so Jordan’s father will not worry about her. Her father is dying from cancer and is concerned about her being alone when he is gone. The strong attraction between Nick and Jordan, grows as they get to know each other. However, they each try to hold back their feelings because they are cautious with their heart. Jordan is just getting over a cheating fiancé and Nick is recovering from injuries he sustained while in the military. Jordan is afraid to trust again and tries to keep an emotional distance from Nick, but each day it’s a little harder. She wishes Nick would open up to her but he has a hard time sharing his war experiences with anyone.
Even though Nick and Jordan immediately connect, they are emotionally wounded and are afraid to show their feelings. Until now, they have only been surviving day to day and had nothing to look forward to. When they are together, they feel safe and content. While they dance around each other, everyone one around them can tell they are meant to be together. Can Nick and Jordan learn to trust each other?
"Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the advance copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review."
This is one of those feel good sweet romance books! After Jordan gets hurt pretty badly, then catches pneumonia, Nick comes in to save the day and help her heal. They are both pretty closed of emotionally, but slowly they begin to open up and heal each other. Jordan also helps some of the other people in the town heal from past emotional issues they have dealt with as well. I recommend this feel good book to all!
This is the first book I've read by Jeannie Moon, but it won't be my last. This was such a moving story, I loved Jordan and Nick, both dealing with their own demons, as well as a nosy family and a sick dad, the relationship that develops is beautifully written with so much depth. By looking at the cover you might be fooled into believing it's a typical love story, but it's so much more; community rallying around those in need, it had me in tears at bits. A must read xx
*I won this book off of Netgalley for my honest opinion*
I want to give this book 3-4 stars. This was my first time reading a book by Jeannie Moon. This book does pull you in with the characters. It makes you care about the two main characters.
However, the things that just made it hit off the mark for me was the "conflict" between the two characters. Without giving away too much of the story line, I just didn't think it justified the outcome towards the end - I felt like there needed to be a bigger conflict. Also, some of the dialogue I had a hard time thinking people would actually talk like that in real life.
I did enjoy the story and I would be open to reading more of Jeannie Moon books in the future.
This was a charming, feel good romance that was low on angst. It was pretty tame, but enjoyable, even though at one point I want to yell at both Nick and Jordan to make up their minds! Overall, a nice way to spend a few hours.
Great prologue.
Ooh, she's descended from the widow?
Nona only rents to teachers?
Jeezus, the dog saved her life!
He's handy to have around in an emergency.
Whoever the urgent-care doctor she saw was, he should lose his license.
Yeesh, she definitely dodged a bullet.
Where are his parents?
On one hand, it was nice of him not to protest to her father. On the other hand, the poor man is now ecstatic about a lie.
I just LOVE Compass Cove! This book is amazing.
Jordan Velsor was getting ready to get married to the perfect fiance. Everything was going to perfect for their wedding, until she caught Chase with a woman on his desk in his office. Jordan rents her house from the Rinaldi's. . Lina Rinaldi's grandson Nick lives with his grandparents since he is recuperating from being shot while stationed in Kandahar.
During a horrible Nor'easter, Jordan comes down with what she thinks is a chest cold. Little did she know that Nick Rinaldi is a physician board certified in emergency medicine and pediatrics and fortunately was able to help Jordan. This ended up becoming a very bad case of pneumonia that Jordan could have died from if it was not for Nick caring for her during the storm. As the storm grew in intensity, Jordan became sicker. Once the power went out, Nick had no choice but to take Jordan to his Nona's house for heat and shelter.
This book is about families. About helping each other, loving each other and about the Compass that helps direct the love. I really am happy that I read this book. I love the folk tale of the Compass.
This is an engaging book about two people finding and denying love due to emotional burdens they conceal, creating wariness and doubt. Jordan Velsor and Nick Rinaldi live in Compass Cove, a small town known for the compass that will indicate true love when held. Jordan has been hurt by her ex-fiancé who she caught cheating on the day before their wedding. Gun shy and wary of her developing feelings for Nick, she battles with them while he helps her recover from pneumonia and navigate her father’s terminal illness. Nick harbors a secret he does not feel he can share with anyone about the circumstances surrounding his injury in Afghanistan. This keeps him from fully engaging in the developing feelings he has for Jordan and causes her to back away because he does not trust her enough to open up.
A very well-written mostly feel-good story with a swoony hero who is almost too good to be true. I loved Nick Rinaldi, he is the epitome of the kind, caring, compassing, loving man, a healer and a protector person through and through: “He was all man, but inside that take-charge alpha Naval officer was a gentleman with a heart of gold” (quote from ARC). But the handsome hero is not perfect, and his guardedness and inability to confide in Jordan is just one of the flaws that make him imperfect and so human.
Once again, Jeannie Moon manages to write a romantic story that is more about closeness, intimacy and caring, than sex. The pace is fantastic, the small-town feeling and the big family context a bit overwhelming but still heartwarming.
Characterization of Nick and Jordan, a strong willed, smart and sensitive teacher with a soft heart, is amazing.
I loved the slow-burn romance between these two wounded souls, the engagement and Jordan’s father situations and returning to the beautiful setting of Compass Cove, seeing again Adam and Mia and wondering who will be the next couple in “Waiting for You”, book 3 of the Compass Cove series – Jack and Lilly Vasquez? Liam?
I also loved the detailed and realistic way the author portrayed both main characters’ jobs, creating such vivid scenes involving Nicholas Rinaldi, the SEAL doctor, and Jordan Velser, the dedicated smart teacher.
I would have liked more showing than telling where the impact of Nick’s injuries in daily activities is concerned, but all in all this is a great romantic story and I can’t wait for the next book!

Jeannie Moon, Author of “You Send Me” has written a delightful, charming, endearing, engaging , captivating and enjoyable novel. The Genres for this story are Fiction, Women’s Fiction and Romance. The timeline for this story is set in the present and only goes to the past when it pertains to the characters or events in the story. The author sets a vivid portrayal of a historical small beach town community.
The author describes her colorful cast of characters as conflicted, likable, quirky, loyal and endearing. Teacher Jordan Veslor finds out that her fiance is cheating the day before their wedding. Jordan takes care of her sick father and attempts to go back to her routine life. During a torrential storm in the cove, she is rescued by her Landlady’s son, Dr. Nick Rinaldi. Nick comes to her rescue again, when Jordan develops pneumonia, and a high fever. Usually Jordan is extremely independent. Nick is recovering from injuries he suffered in the Navy during a traumatic incident. Nick has nightmares, and doesn’t want to discuss what happened to him. Do these two have a chance of getting together?
I appreciate that the author discusses the importance of family, friends, neighbors and the community. I love some of the amusing scenes when the family gets together. I would highly recommend this heartwarming story for readers of Women’s Fiction and Romance. I received an ARC from NetGalley for my honest review.
Jordan ditched her fiance on the eve of their wedding after she found him cheating on her. She is staying in her rental house with her new dog, hoping for a quiet life.
Nick is next door, staying with his grandparents while he recovers from being injured while a navy doctor.
During a bad storm, Nick ends up taking care of Jordan and they start to form a friendship. Both have issues in their past they need to address before they can think of moving forwards together.
A short but enjoyable read.
This was an extremely touching romance about two very guarded people who come together rather quickly and then have to adapt to the speed of their relationship. Jordan is recovering from a bad romance, but is taking care of herself while working as an elementary school teacher. She lives next door to Nick’s grandparents and he’s living there recovering from being shot in Afghanistan. He’s a doctor but hasn’t yet transitioned to being a civilian pediatrician now that his military career is over. When a bad storm hits their small community on Long Island, he goes over to help Jordan and realizes that she has a bad case of pneumonia. He stays to care for her and falls in love. Through a misunderstanding when he visits her father who is dying in a hospice, everyone thinks that they’re engaged and they let the deceit stick because it makes her father so happy. And despite their reservations, it makes them very happy also.
They have to overcome the walls that each has built around their own hearts, but they’re both good people and that, ultimately, is going to be enough. It’s nice to read a book where just everyone is a decent, kind person who cares for each other.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.
This is an incredible romance novel that covers heartache, healing, and relationship issues. This book was truly believable and so real it keeps you on the edge of your seat wanting more information. Jordan Velsor is an incredibly strong woman who's experienced a great deal of heartache in her life. Nick Rinaldi is a hardworking, kindhearted, soldier/doctor who served in the military, and suffers PTSD because of his service. This is a book that draw you in and make you want to learn more about Compass Cove and all it's residents.
I loved this ‘slow burn’ love story about Nick and Jordan. Absolutely loved it! Both characters were very loveable and very vivid in my mind.
Jordan has recently gotten un-engaged to a dirt bag and Nick is a recently wounded Veteran from the military. During a horrible storm where a tree slams down into Jordan’s car (she lives in a cottage on Nick’s grandparents property), Nick goes to see if she is okay and notices she isn’t feeling well. Nick is a doctor and diagnoses her sickness as pneumonia. Because of this, he decides to take care of her. And when I say he takes care of her… HE TAKES CARE OF HER. Fast forward a few chapters and after Nick visits Jordan’s sick father, (long story short) they are now fake engaged! WOW!!! Talk about a good twist! Read this one, you won’t regret it!
This is my first book by this author. I fully intend on going back to read all previous books written by Ms. Moon.
Warm, deeply touching, real and intense. The depiction of family life in the many forms that takes was so realistic and touching that I cried and laughed at it simultaneously.
Compass Cove is both real and magical.
Jordan and Nick were combustible together. I recommend this book.
