Well this author NEVER EVER disappoints. I’m such a Melody Anne fan that I reread all her work time and time again. This book was different to her usual stories yet it still had that Melody Anne feel to it. I’m a HUGE fan of hers and her writing just gives me that warm fuzzy feeling with every chapter I read. This book is a MUST read. Do it!
Arden Forbes loves being a teacher, even though he has the financial means to never work a day in his life. When Keera Thompson takes the position of the new principal, sparks fly, but then strange incidents start to occur, that tend to circle around her.
I love the chemistry between the characters, and I'm a sucker for any story involving an animal! The author did a great job of keeping the reader guessing as to who's behind the attacks and I will definitely be reading more of this series!
Emotionally thrilling, sexy, action packed romantic journey filled with danger, secrets and a sourcing hot passion that will not be denied...
Arden Forbes is a sexy, charming and dedicated teacher with a passion for his job and burning desire for the new principal. Keera Thompson is looking to escape a troubling past by relocating for a new job as a principal and gets so much more than she bargained for... especially when it seems the her problems only followed her. Highly entertaining and engaging story.
This is the second book in this "standalone" series by Melody Anne and I will have to say that, it is not a favorite. Arden, was perfectly likable and sweet, but he did not leave a lasting impression on me. I sort of felt like this was a filler book so we could get to meet the rest of the brothers, that will get a book. I'm excited for Owen and Declan's books, at least they were more memorable.
Keera, was the same amount of excitement. She had a bad past with a dead brother, dead beat drug lord father, mom died, just a lot of things that had potential, but yet, her biggest fear was falling for Arden?
This story just fell flat for me, especially with Ethan, being the bad guy. Who didn't see that coming from a mile away. The step brother/half brother thing was literally the only twist. I finished it and was glad that I did, but just for the reason that I want to know who's book is next.
I often have issues with second book in a series or in a standalone, connected characters stories. This was just not my cuppa.
while I have read alot of melody Anne’s other books, I had a tough time getting into the book. I did like the dynamic between the characters, however the story line just didn’t flow for me like some of her other series have, I do wonder if I had read kian before this one if some of the parts that I couldn’t connect with in Arden would have seemed to flow better
Arden and Keera’s heat and push and pull was definitely what you expect from melody. Overall thought it was a good book.

Oh my this book has it all. Sass, love, intrigue, sexual tension, and the best kind of loyalty. Well let me start by saying I have become a huge fan of this author. She writes with so much intensity and emotion pulled from each book it’s felt page after page. Some are quick witted story lines are so perfect and lets you believe you have a front row seat. So being able to read this love story didn’t disappoint. The authors ability to have two separate individuals struggling in their everyday life and try to navigate someone else’s thoughts, needs and desires was intense and gives all the fills.
Authors Blurb: No one would guess that dedicated teacher Arden Forbes is a billionaire. His profession gives him a purpose that wealth alone can’t provide. He’s developing another passion, too, for Keera Thompson, the new principal. She’s beautiful, enigmatic, guarded, and—after a series of violent school break-ins—in need of protection. And Arden is eager to supply it. But what he wants most is to unearth the mysteries that surround her.
After a troubling past, Keera thought she’d be safe in this sleepy town and that she’d never be shaken again. Yet nothing has unsettled Keera more than her desire for Arden—honorable, gorgeous, and available when she craves him. But despite their explosive chemistry, when it comes to letting Arden in, Keera has her limits…and her secrets.
As the threats escalate, Keera fears that everything she’s been running from is closing in, and there’s only one man to trust. But will the truth drive Arden away…or will it bring the two closer than ever before?
I really enjoyed this book and it kept me engrossed throughout. I really loved the characters and the way they interacted with each other. This is a fun, hot, romantic must read book and I would definitely recommend this book to anyone.
This book has everything I love in a book. Then you add that it's beautifully written and believable. It is easily a five star read. Written in dual POV my personal favorite this story flows so incredibly well that the next thing you know your 80% into the book and loving every second of it. The believable way the characters interact is perfect. Run, Hop, Jump or use your (1 click) finger to do whatever you have to do and get this amazing book. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic.
Thanks Netgally for letting me read and review.📚💕
First off, let me admit upfront that I have never met a book by Melody Anne that I did not love. She has a way with billionaires that is witty, quirky, sexy and down to earth all at the same time. So the Undercover Billionaire series is simply pure enjoyment for me. I will warn you though that you’ll probably lose your heart to a former police dog by the name of Max. Max steals scenes and hearts with abandon… and I want a pup just like him for my own guard dog to love… my little Sheltie, Harley, will just have to make room for a new friend.
Arden is my favorite type of romance with a mystery involved because there are layers to this story, ones that we won’t know the truth about until the end of the story… or maybe the series. That’s the type of plot and characters that grab my attention and will not let go because I have to solve the puzzle. Arden and Keera work well together, are a believable couple and the steam level from these two is off the charts. Trouble is, they both have secrets, although by far Keera’s are the more worrisome. Watching this couple fall in lust and in love, learning to trust completely and discover why someone is after Keera was an intense and enjoyable adventure. I’m not convinced that we have all the answers from this story, but then this is a series and I expect story lines to be woven through the fabric of the entire series. It’s gong to be interesting to see where the next book takes us, and I, for one, cannot wait. If you love a steamy romance, a mystery puzzle to solve… and an adorable dog then you’ll want to pick up Arden real soon. I had a blast and I’m betting you will, too. I’d recommend this story and this series to any Contemporary Romance reader who enjoys interesting characters, a few puzzles to solve and a damned good story.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
Major romance with a little bit of mystery!
History teacher and football coach Arden Forbes has been told by his FBI agent brother that someone is running drugs through the high school when he gives him Max, a retired drug dog . Principal Keera Thompson has just started at Edmond High School and her office has been broken into while she walking through the school keeping an eye on the students during their after school activities. When Keera receives threatening notes, Arden becomes involved but Keera tries to keep her distance because the notes reference her family which she didn’t want to talk about leading to a major part of the book.
Keera and Arden take it very slow because Arden doesn’t want to scare Keera off because his family is wealthy but they donate a lot of money to good causes and Keera doesn’t want to be hurt because of her family background. I loved how Melody Anne wrote about Max and his reactions make it worth reading.
Arden by Melody Anne is the second book in the Undercover Billionaire series and it is a stand-alone.
Received an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
The premise of this book was very intriguing, a kinda secret millionaire who is a teacher. Even better, he has hot brothers! Unfortunately the character and story building was very awkward and abrupt, That made the flow uneven and difficult for me to read. It seems like the story needs to be fleshed out and add more to the backstory. She has a great frame work for an interesting read but the book ended up falling very flat with me.
Arden by Melody Anne is book Two in the Undercover Billionaire series. This is the story of Arden Forbes and Keera Thompson. I have read the previous book but feel this can be a standalone book.
Keera is the new principle at the school that Arden teaches at but she is also quickly becoming a constant person in his thoughts. When danger finds Keera Arden wants only to protect her and care for her.
This was a book that took you in quickly and kept you reading to the very end. I really enjoyed their story!
Sexy romantic suspense
Melody Anne's Arden just missed the mark from being a great story.
There were a number of good plot ideas but unfortunately some of the actions were just a little unrealistic and others predictable.
I received an advance reader copy from Netgalley.
I love a good billionaire story, but this family really take the word humble and make you see that having money means something else entirely. The Forbes family is back again and this time it’s Arden’s turn to find love. Arden is may be part of the Forbes Family, but he makes his living by being a high school teacher/football coach. His money does not play a role in his life because he feels fulfilled teaching and coaching. When things start happening at his school, he starts spending time with the new principal. Keera is the new principal and she is there running from her past. Her past is catching up with her when she finds out there is things going on in her school she knew nothing about. Arden and Keera work together to find out what is going on in their school and in the process develop a relationship. Arden works to break down Keera’s walls and help her uncover long buried secrets in her family. Keera does not know what to do when things from her past start piling up and she wants to push Arden away because she feels she doesn’t deserve him. In a nutshell Arden is all in with his heart but can he help Keera let go of her past to fight for them.
I am so glad that we get to see Melody what she does best and give us a story that will keep you trying to figure out what’s going to happen next. Arden and Keera had a slow buildup to their relationship because they never thought to act on their attraction. When they did it was explosive and intense. I loved Arden’s character and Keera not so much until she got herself together. Her stubbornness clouded her judgement in my opinion and her walls were too high. I do not like when the female characters use their independence as a crutch and Keera was just someone that wanted to do it all on her own. She reminded me of Roxie from Kian’s book and they are two women who thought they didn’t need anyone. Besides that, it’s a delightful story and it left open for more things to come. I cannot wait to read about Owen and Declan and to see if someone will finally get them to settle down.
Melody Anne introduces us to Keera Thompson, the new high school principal, when she interrupts someone breaking into her office. She is met not only by the police officers, but also high school teacher Arden Forbes. Thrown together by circumstances, Keera and Arden find themselves unable to distance themselves. Keera must learn to trust Arden with not only her heart and safety, but also the secrets that continue to haunt her and may have followed her to this town.
I have enjoyed Melody Anne's Billionaire Bachelors, Baby for the Billionaire, and Surrender series. I look forward to meeting the rest of the Forbes clan and reading their stories.
I've loved all the books in this series and this book is no exception. I really enjoy Melody Anne's writing style and her no games romances. Her characters know what they want and go after it with little angst in the relationship. In this one Arden is definitely interested in the new principal Keera Thompson. Unfortunately there are a couple of obstacles to overcome. First, she's his boss and doesn't want to cross that professional line. Second, and more importantly as far as Arden is concerned is that Keera has secrets. Secrets she's unwilling to share and keeping Arden at arms length because of them. When dangerous events begin happening around the school Arden is convinced Keera is in danger so he steps up his determination to win her heart and keep her safe. Will Keera trust him enough to share all of herself?
I highly recommend this one.
Climatic and suspenseful. This book is a page turner. Each chapter was a cliffhanger till things are revealed in the end.
Keera is the new principal for the local high school. Arden is a teacher, football coach for the school. Events start occurring, threats are made, responsibility is sought. Choices and decisions are made.
Will circumstances define who the person is/becomes?
I have so many questions after reading this. I feel Melody is being evil in her writing. Now I am wondering what ties the action have from Kian book. Keera story has a bigger meaning but somehow I think the mastermind behind all this has something to do with Declan demons. Okay on to the way I loved Arden and his role as teacher, protector, and most of all friend. His hearr is so kind and full that Keera didn't have a chance to push him away. As women we always crave that companion that will give space when we need it but also stand firm when we don't want them to. That was Arden, that dream man with a side of swag and sexiness. Above all else he will protect his love ones and even warm to the dog that mocked him. Yes, Max for the win as will...
Now come on with Owen so I can finish solving my mystery.
Keera is the new principle at the school where Arden is a teacher and coach. When Keira’s office gets broken into, Arden runs to the rescue and that’s when their relationship begins.
This book just missed the mark for me. I found the dialogue to be cliche and even though there were twists and turns ... I guessed every one of them. I just couldn’t connect with the characters, but the steamy scenes were good. I really liked the 1st book in this series and this book set up the next book in the series. This is just my opinion ... everyone has different tastes because this book did get a lot of 5 stars from other people.
I received an ARC courtesy of Montlake Romance through NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.
This was a romance with a suspenseful twist that kept me guessing until the end. Keera is the new principal at the high school in town and has implemented some really good student programs and quickly become a vital part of the small town. Little did she know but her past was going to come back to haunt her. Arden is the history teacher and football coach and all-round great guy who comes to her rescue on more than one occasion. Arden's brother brings him a retired police dog (much to his dismay) with the admonishment there are drugs in the school and Max quickly comes to Keera's rescue too. This quickly turns into more than expected and the underlying mystery brings out Keera's past and secures their future. This can totally be read as a standalone (I didn't read the first in the series and was not lost) but will be looking for future books in this series. This was a great read and I recommend it!
**Received this ARC for review from the publisher via NetGalley**
Arden was a great read and another promising best seller from the author.
The book was consistent with the authors writing style of love, drama, family and togetherness.
I enjoyed the familiarity of this book and felt like I was part of the family with the characters.
Add this book to your library! A must read
This romantic suspense novel is well worth the read. Even though I was pretty sure I knew who the bad guy was, Melody Anne kept me guessing until the end about what would happen. This is definitely not a quiet, summertime read. This is a stormy-night, bite-your-fingers-until-the-very end, kind of novel. The action almost never lets up.
The nice thing about this type of book is that, even though it’s a standalone, at least one book came before this, and other books will follow. I love getting invested in these types of novels where other standalone are to follow which give us updates on the characters we fell in love with.
