Arden is book 2 in the Undercover Billionaire Series and this is Arden and Keera’s story and as with all of Melody Anne’s plots nothing will go quite the way you expect it.
The school Arden works at has a drug problem but no one is aware of it until his brother arrives with a retired police sniffer dog called Max and convinces Arden to keep the dog with him at all times. Keera is the new high school principal but she has secrets that she is trying to leave behind, this job is supposed to be a fresh start and the last thing she needs is to have a police investigation on her hands. The attraction between Arden and Keera is instant but is the timing right.....
I love Melody Ann’s writing, I love her Billionaire characters and the partners they fall in love with but I have to say this book is a bit different in as much as it has more suspense and mystery involved it also has a lot more laugh out loud moments and I loved it. The Forbes family are fast becoming one of my favourite families and I can’t wait to see who’s story we get next.
Keera left the past behind to start anew as a principal at a local high school. When she finds out drugs are being sold on school property, Keera refuses to stand for it. She will do whatever it takes to put a stop to it. Unfortunately, Keera realizes a little too late her past has caught up with her.
Arden teaches and coaches at the same high school Keera works at. When Arden's brother, a detective, gets a tip about drugs being ran through the school where Arden works, he lends Arden a drug dog. Together Arden and Keera join forces to get to the bottom of things. Arden soon finds out the whole situation has something to do with Keera. What will Arden do when he discovers the truth to Keera's past?
I am a big fan of author Melody Anne's Undercover Billionaire series. I love that these guys don't let money get in the way of doing what they truly want. Each brother is as different as night and day as are their stories. Book one, Kian, is kind of a second chance love story among other things. Book two, Arden, is about finding love in the work place, sorta. It's also about dealing with the past. Together Arden shows Keera that life can be fun again and helps her heal her scars on the inside.
3.25⭐
This is the first book I've read in the series and so I did find it hard to get into. But whether that was entirely down to the fact I didn't read Kian first I'm not sure.
Yet I certainly found the characters likable, and whilst the actual story was quite slow paced; it was easy to read. However, I struggled to stay completely connected and engaged. And even though I liked the different elements to this story I did feel they weren't cohesive enough or entirely convincing. But I did like the writing style and the romance between Arden and Keera.
And I'm sure fans of the author and of Kian will enjoy this latest story in the Undercover Billionaire series.
She needs a hero. What she finds is a soulmate. Arden tends to be the man people overlook. His brain is his greatest weapon, but It's his heart that could be they key to his undoing. Keera haunts his every waking moment, but the secrets she keeps are making her life a living hell. They don't go looking for trouble. Somehow it seems to find them. Will the ultimate non hero be smart enough to save the day? Arden is a thriller with that has the heart of a champion and the smarts to back it up.
The second instalment of the undercover billionaires series by Melody Anne sees us with the next brother, Arden. As well as being a sexy billionaire he is also a school teacher in History and enjoys being a coach for the football team. Keera is the new school principle, although young and a woman she intends to make school a positive experience for all of her students. The attraction between Arden and Keera is felt quite soon but she has a school to run and Arden has an ex police dog to care for courtesy of his brother, Declan. I had to laugh at some of the interactions between Max the dog and Arden and some of the descriptions the author made about the look on the dogs face.
Trouble isn't far behind though as keera's past might be coming back to haunt her. With her VP not liking what she is doing, her office and home being broken into and a certain amount of drugs being found in the school, will they find out who has it in for her? A shock as her father comes back into her life only to go again has Keera spiralling. As the clues are gathered and the pieces out together she realises it has something to do with her brother. As a fire runs out of control will then as guys lose in the end? Or will this continue until they or Keera are gone? A wonderfully written book and I could really get into the emotions coming off both characters as everything around them spirals out of control. I think Max made everything great. A fantastic book by an awesome author and I can't wait to devour any other books in this series.
After reading Kian Forbes story, I excitedly looked forward to reading about the rest of the Forbes family. Arden’ story did not disappoint.
This is a sexy romantic story, mixed with mystery & intrigue. Arden, a History teacher & football coach, is enlisted to uncover a possible drug ring at the high school. His brother Declan, who works for the FBI saddles him with Max, a retired German Shepherd, to help with this task. Keera Thompson, the new principal & newcomer in town, gets caught in the middle of the investigation after a break in at her office. The break-in at the school is followed by other disturbing incidences, with Keera in the midst of it all. Did Keera just get caught in the middle, or did she cause these disturbances? Arden and Max, along with Declan, need to figure things out before anyone gets seriously hurt. We also meet the rest of the Forbes family. I look forward to reading Declan and zowen’s story next.
Arden is from a very wealthy family. He teaches school at Edmonds High School where Keera Thompson is principal. It starts with a break in at Keera's office at school. Declan, Arden's brother is FBI and wants him to take Max, a retired drug sniffing K-9 to work with him. Max sniffs out a large amount of drugs in a locker at school. One bad thing after another keeps happening to Keera. She turns to the handsome Arden for help and comfort. Ethan, the Vice Principal is always around but makes Keera feel uncomfortable. There are so many secrets and unknowns which makes this book a thriller as well as a romance. Only part of the mystery is solved in this book. The chemistry between Arden and Keera is really hot. I loved the book and want to read the next one in the series so I know how it ends.I received this book from Net Galley for an honest review and no compensation otherwise.
The story was cute, but very predictable. The who and why was figured out in the first few chapters of the book. The ending for the bad guy felt repetitive since it was already used. The book felt slow at times, often dragging in detail.
Great story with lots of twists and turns. Not having read Tian's story this is easy to pick up and read without feeling lost. Keera comes to a small town as the new high school principle. She's got history that she left behind, the death of her younger brother still weighs on her. This town is a new start for her. Along with hot history teacher who also coaches football who is drawn to Keira. Arden Forbes has lived in Edmonds all his life and despite coming from money is happy with teaching school.
When his brother Declan brings him a retired police dog as a new companion, a very disgruntled Arden doesn't understand. Declan's only explanation is that there is intel that there are drugs in the high school and Max the dog is trained. Declan works for the FBI and withholds any further information. Which he does throughout the work. When someone breaks into Keera's office at school when she is there locking up after late activities Arden is there to help. The incidents escalate and Arden stands by Keera along with Max. Arden still resents the dog but Keera loves him and the dog loves Keera. I loved the dog. He's a little comic relief at times while this book takes some wicked twists and turns. One man who is not happy with Keera or her relationship with Arden is Ethan the school vice principle. Hard to describe him other than the fact that he's just creepy and has been since day one. The spark between Arden and Keera is tremendous and Keera is convinced that no one would want her, especially a family like his after knowing her history. Her backstory unfolds throughout the book and continues to do so until the end.
This is a great story romance, suspense and much more and kept you turning the pages. I loved both Keera and Arden, they were likable well developed characters and what we saw in this book of the other family members I'm all for reading their stories as well. There wasn't one thing not to like about this book. Great story.
4.5 stars
**arc from NetGalley and Publisher for an honest review**
This was book 2 of the Undercover Billionaire series by Melody Anne. Though you don't need to read the first book of the series, Kian, to follow Arden's story.
Arden is a high school teacher and the football coach. Keera is the school's new principal who seems to have some trouble from her past coming back to haunt her.
I loved we get to read a little more about the other Forbes brothers. I feel some interesting stories brewing with them.
Arden's older brother, Declan (you find out he is in the FBI), knows something is up at the high school and drops off Max, a former police dog and probably one of my favorite characters in this story. With the help of Max, Declan, Arden and Keera are able to get to the bottom of what is going on at the school and how everything going on ties into Keera's past.
This book did have a slow start for me, but after I got through the first few chapters I couldn't stop reading. I had to know what was going to happen next and why Keera was being targeted when she was just the new school principal.
I loved the small interaction between Keera and the girls and the whole family together, I wish there was more of it in the story!
I laughed, I cried and I was on the edge of my seat at times. The chemistry between Arden and Keera was on fire. Though, I did feel like there were still some unanswered questions by the time I finished and I am hoping that those questions may be answered in future books featuring other Forbes brothers.
**This book was graciously provided to me by NetGalley in exchange for a honest review**
Top-Notch!! This story was mysterious and exciting with a realistic feel to it. I even had a few laugh out loud moments that were stress reducing. I loved getting to know Arden and Keera and watching them fall in love!! To me this was exactly the kind of story I look for when I read romances! Can't wait for the next book!
A sizzling hot romance. The story was passionate, interesting and did have some twists. Interesting characters. The storyline was unpredictable and intriguing to me.
Arden is the second book in this series of brothers, but you don’t have to have read the book before this in order to enjoy it. Arden was smart, sexy, and knew what he wanted. Keera had a rough past and didn’t trust easily. Their story had plenty of intrigue and stream with some humor mixed in. I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next in the series.
Disclaimer -
I didn't read the first installment in this series. Although after reading this, I don't feel as though it's necessary to have read it, I mention it because maybe THIS is why I had a hard time getting in to it....maybe.
Keera is the new principle at the local high school. She's independent and has worked really hard to get where she is in life, especially considering her childhood. But when there's a late night break in to her school office and she learns that there is a drug problem on campus, she quickly realizes that she needs help.
Arden in a teacher at the high school. He's also the football coach and billionaire hunk, although everyone knows he's loaded (this is the part of the series title I don't get, he's undercover, but I digress). When his brother drops a service dog at his doorstep and insists he helps solve the drug problem on campus, he doesn't really have much say. And then when Keera's life becomes in danger, he's more than happy to step in and help any way he can.
I understand that there is character build up. I understand that there is story build up. What I didn't understand is how this book ran hot and cold for me. One minute these two are flirting and going at it. The next, ice age. Then when the drama actually starts to unfold, I felt as though the chemistry between the two wasn't real. Especially considering they had already been together. Keera seemed to play the forever damsel in distress while Arden was the ever loving hero.

I really enjoyed Arden and Keera's story. The suspense was just enough and Arden really carried the alpha hero to the max. Max was an awesome dog! I'm hoping more of the backstory will be revealed when Declan gets his story. I'm waiting to hear more about Owen too!
Keera has just been the principal of the school for just a month when bad things start happening and a drug problem at school is suspected.
Arden is a dedicated teacher and won’t let anything bad at happen at this school. Despite his attraction, he didn’t want to get involved with Keera, he knew she was too complicated. But try as he might with all the attacks on her he can’t stop himself from getting involved and attached.
This is my first book in the series and I am hooked. The dynamics between Arden and Max had me laughing out loud. The suspense kept me on the edge and the chemistry between Keera and Arden kept the temperature high.
I look forward to reading more in the series.
Brilliant book. Loved the book and loving the series. Totally recommend this book for reading and this author.
Good story with plenty of chemistry and romance between Keera and Arden, and a good balance of suspense
Another brother from Forbs family falls in love. This time Arden in his boss Keera. I must say that I am a little bit disappointed in this book, the first one was for me amazing, and I had the feeling that I read a book from a completely different author. Both Keera and Arden were well developed but I just couldn't fell in love with them. I had the feeling that it was so much repetition of Ardens feeling toward Keera, of her denaying Arden and why they should be together. All the happening was slow uneventful and boring from time to time. I just didn't fell in love with the story. I hope the next story from another brother will be great again.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly.
I think this book was good, i liked the story about the characters and the emotional story.
The book is a romantic suspense novel with a mystery twist.
